When Wentworth returned to the Hufflepuff common room, it was almost bedtime for everyone, but Cedric and Green had not yet returned to their respective dorm rooms and were instead waiting in the Hufflepuff common room.

Upon seeing Wentworth return, Cedric and Green quickly went to greet him.

"How are you, Wentworth?... My God... What are you doing?"

Cedric screamed when he saw the dark circle in Wentworth's left eye.

Green chuckled to himself.

"Of course, he must have been punched by Cassandra!"

Green had a strange smile on his face, and he moved closer to Wentworth, raised his nose, and took a careful sniff.

"How do you know it was from a punch? Isn't it some kind of strange magic?"

Cedric pressed for an answer, curious.

Green, however, answered with complete confidence:

"Don't worry, Cedric, I'm absolutely sure I'm not mistaken, because my mom often beats my dad like this!"

"But what I'm curious about is, Wentworth, what exactly did you do to make Cassandra punch you so directly?! What did you do to that girl...?"

However, before Green could finish speaking, Wentworth waved his hand and said:

"Yawn, I'm so sleepy, I'm going back to sleep!"

As he spoke, Wentworth pushed the two aside and walked toward his dormitory.

As for the remaining two, Cedric was completely bewildered, while Green wore a strange smile.

The next morning, when Wentworth and Cedric were having breakfast at the Hufflepuff table, all the Hufflepuffs already knew that Wentworth had done something to Cassandra the night before and ended up getting punched by her!

"I'll find a way to get back at that Green sooner or later!"

Wentworth looked at Green, who was not far away, vividly describing to the Hufflepuff students how disheveled Wentworth had been when he returned the previous night, and his face was full of resentment.

Just then, a flock of owls flew in, and instantly, chaos erupted in the Great Hall of Hogwarts. Many items and letters were carelessly tossed onto the long tables of the Great Hall by the owls, splashing food and soup everywhere.

Among the many items sent by the families of Hogwarts students was the latest issue of the Daily Prophet!

However, due to his hatred for a certain unscrupulous reporter in the Daily Prophet in his previous life, Wentworth never reads the Daily Prophet and has never subscribed to it.

But soon, in the Great Hall of Hogwarts, many students holding the Daily Prophet exclaimed in surprise, which attracted a lot of attention.

Students kept gathering around, pointing and commenting on the Daily Prophet, then their gazes involuntarily drifted towards Slytherin, and they began whispering amongst themselves.

Seeing this, Wentworth frowned involuntarily, but before he could go over to investigate, Green walked over with a serious expression, holding a copy of the Daily Prophet.

"Prefect, what happened?"

Seeing this, Wentworth couldn't help but ask.

Green, holding the Daily Prophet, plopped down between Wentworth and Cedric, sighed deeply, and flicked open the newspaper's cover.

The front page of the Daily Prophet featured the following headline:

The head of the Auror office at the Ministry of Magic has been attacked and his fate is unknown!

Upon seeing this headline, Wentworth finally understood what had happened to Cassandra yesterday!

After all, Cassandra had said more than once that her father was the head of the Auror Office at the Ministry of Magic!

Chapter Fifty-One: The Farce in the Auditorium

Wentworth looked toward Slytherin and saw Cassandra drinking pumpkin soup with a blank expression. However, Cassandra's eyes were red and swollen, indicating that she had not slept well the night before.

The Slytherins who had been sitting around Cassandra had now dispersed. Some were gathered around other classmates, engrossed in reading the Daily Prophet, while others were pointing and whispering in Cassandra's direction.

However, Cassandra did not respond to any of the changes in the outside world.

Seeing this, Wentworth could only sigh inwardly and then carefully read the Daily Prophet in his hand.

According to newspaper reports, Thomas Reaver, the head of the Auror office at the British Ministry of Magic, went out on a mission yesterday morning with two Aurors to chase a group of wizards who had illegally entered the country. He has not returned since. Subsequently, the British Ministry of Magic dispatched a large number of Aurors to search for any trace of Thomas Reaver.

In a valley, the Aurors discovered the bodies of two Aurors, along with numerous traces of a battle fought using dark magic. At the scene of the battle, the Aurors also found Thomas Revol's broken wand and torn clothing. Therefore, the British Ministry of Magic initially determined that Thomas Revol was ambushed while pursuing the suspect.

Currently, the British Ministry of Magic has preliminarily determined that Thomas Revol, the head of the Auror Office under the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, has most likely died in the line of duty. The Ministry has decided to appoint Rufus Scrimgeour as acting head of the Auror Office.

At this point, everything is clear. Obviously, Dumbledore called Cassandra away from class yesterday because of this incident, and Dumbledore clearly had prior notice.

Thinking about this, Wentworth once again truly felt in his heart that the magical world might really not be as wonderful as Rosier had told him before.

It's important to understand that this period is still considered the calm before the storm in the magical world. The head of the Auror Office, a powerful figure overseeing all Aurors in the country, has vanished without a trace, his fate unknown, simply for carrying out a single mission.

Considering that Voldemort will return in less than a year, the environment of the wizarding world will be far worse than it is now.

Wentworth felt the urgency to improve his strength once again! Although he didn't intend to be a savior, he at least needed to ensure his own survival!

Just then, a commotion suddenly arose not far away. Wentworth and the others looked in the direction of the sound and saw that Cassandra was surrounded by several people at the Slytherin table not far away. The one in the lead was Weilling, who had recently served as the Slytherin Prefect.

What happened in Slytherin?

Seeing this, Wentworth couldn't help but ask curiously.

Green, however, sneered and began to explain:

"It seems that it's because Weylin used to complain about Cassandra, which caused him to lose his position as Slytherin Prefect, and Cassandra retorted that he was too stupid and had tarnished the honor of Slytherin."

Wentworth nodded knowingly and continued to listen intently. Sure enough, he heard Welling say, somewhat angrily:

“Cassandra! If it weren’t for your instigation, would I have gone to cause trouble for the Hufflepuff first-years? Without your instigation, none of those things would have happened, and I wouldn’t have been removed from my position as Slytherin Prefect by Professor Snape!”

Cassandra, without even looking up, continued sipping her pumpkin juice. However, a first-year Slytherin student nearby seemed to find this unbearable and stepped forward to say:

“Prefect Welling, you can’t really blame Cassandra for this, can you? In fact, Cassandra did more than enough. Without her, we Slytherin would have lost even more face!”

Seeing that a first-year Slytherin student had actually stood up to him, Warlin was furious and shoved the Slytherin student, saying viciously:

"Shut up! Do you think that just because I'm no longer the prefect, I can't do anything to you?!"

Welling was four or five years older than the freshman and was strong and powerful. His push almost knocked the freshman over, but luckily someone behind him caught him.

Seeing this, Cassandra finally stopped, raised her head slightly, looked at Wellin with disdain, and said:

"How could Slytherin have a student like you? You're like a dog that's lost its bone, utterly disgraceful!"

Hearing Cassandra's mockery, Wellin flew into a rage and reached out as if to slap her, but Cassandra was not afraid at all and continued to sit in her seat, staring intently at Wellin.

Looking into Cassandra's eyes, Wellin extended his hand halfway, but ultimately did not continue. However, Wellin's subsequent actions caused a chorus of screams from the crowd.

Suddenly, Weylin picked up the bowl of pumpkin juice in front of Cassandra and overturned it onto the table. The pumpkin juice splashed everywhere, soaking Cassandra's Slytherin robes and landing on her face and hair.

This sudden turn of events caused a chorus of screams in the auditorium. Seeing this, Wentworth could no longer sit still. However, just as Wentworth was about to get up, he was held down by two hands at the same time. It was Green and Cedric.

Green said with a half-smile:

"You still say there's nothing between you and Cassandra? I knew you wouldn't stand by and watch Cassandra get bullied! Leave this to me!"

Cedric also said on the other side:

"You are still under Professor Snape's punishment period, and it is not appropriate for you to provoke Slytherin again."

Immediately, Green stood up and said loudly:

"Wow, is this the noble Slytherin? Always flipping tables? And flipping his own table at that! This is truly an eye-opener for us, Prefect Warling!"

"Oh, wait, I almost forgot, you're no longer a Slytherin prefect! Waring!"

Hearing what Green said, coupled with Green's exaggerated expression and trembling body, Wellin felt like he was about to explode with anger. Without saying a word, Wellin took out his wand and pointed it at Green.

Green clearly hadn't expected Wellin's reaction to be so intense. He cursed under his breath and hurriedly reached for his wand, but he was a step too late for Wellin.

Wellin pointed his wand at Grimm and said loudly:

"Tongue-locking and throat-sealing..."

However, just as Wellin's spell was about to be cast, someone was faster than him!

"Except your weapons!"

A spell flashed, and Wellin's wand flew out instantly! Everyone present looked at Wentworth in surprise... and Cedric beside him.

Suddenly, Cedric had already pointed his wand at Wellin!

Chapter Fifty-Two: Upside-Down Bell

Everyone was astonished to see Cedric, a second-year Hufflepuff student, so easily knock Warlin's wand away.

"Wow, when did you become so strong? When you were dueling with Slytherin, you were evenly matched with Cassandra, but you didn't show this fast spellcasting speed!"

Wentworth looked at his friend with disbelief and asked curiously.

Cedric, however, smiled dismissively and explained:

"My spellcasting level has always been like this. It's just that when I was dueling with Cassandra, I took into account that she was a first-year student, so I specifically adjusted my spellcasting speed and magic release to the level I was at in my first year."

Upon hearing Cedric's explanation, Wentworth silently gave him a thumbs up.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Wellin, whose wand had been knocked away by Cedric, turned red and white after hearing Cedric's explanation, and said with a face full of resentment:

"Green, do you think that just because there are more of us Slytherins, we'll be afraid of you? We Slytherins are..."

However, before Welling could finish speaking, he was interrupted by Green's whistle.

"Wayne, you're no longer a Slytherin prefect! You don't represent Slytherin anymore! Don't believe me? Look behind you!"

Upon hearing Green's words, Welling turned around and looked behind him. Sure enough, the Slytherins who had been surrounding Welling had all quietly moved back a few steps after Cedric knocked his wand away, as if afraid of being caught in the crossfire.

At this moment, Weylin stood alone in front of the Slytherin table, no longer having the support he once had.

"Wayne, if I were you, I'd apologize to Cassandra right now and hide back in my dorm. After all, you were once a Slytherin prefect, and it would be so embarrassing to be beaten in front of so many people!"

Green chimed in, fanning the flames.

Upon hearing Green's words, Welling swallowed hard and, forcing himself to remain calm, said:

"Grin, Cassandra and I are Slytherin's own business. What does it have to do with you Hufflepuffs? Let me tell you, mind your own business!"

Greene, meanwhile, lightly flicked his prefect badge and said smugly:
