"No, it's just that I don't have much of an appetite right now, so I plan to exercise first."
Then, Cassandra casually picked up the flying broomstick beside the bed and went outside.
Seeing this, Christine hesitated for a moment, then followed Cassandra to the lawn inside the manor.
Then, Cassandra mounted her cool flying broomstick and began to maneuver and leap above her own manor.
Christine, meanwhile, was below, staring intently at Cassandra in the air, as if she were monitoring her.
After a while, Cassandra landed from the air and looked at Christine, saying:
"What? Are you worried that I'll abandon my father and run away alone?"
Christine laughed heartily and said with a beaming smile:
"No, no, I think you've misunderstood, Miss Cassandra. I was just worried that something might happen to you, so I'm here watching over you to protect you!"
Cassandra's face showed a hint of disgust before she tumbled off her flying broom. Holding the broom in her hand, she casually tossed it onto the fence beside the manor entrance, as if venting her frustration.
Then, Cassandra stormed into the manor, muttering:
"How boring! Don't worry, I will never abandon my father!"
As Cassandra passed by Christine, she noticed out of the corner of her eye that Christine seemed to be looking at the flying broom she had casually placed at the entrance of the manor.
Cassandra's heart skipped a beat, but she continued walking into the manor without stopping, saying as she did so:
"The weather is nice today, I'm going to take my clothes out to air them!"
Upon hearing Cassandra's words, Christine's attention was indeed drawn. She immediately followed behind Cassandra and said:
"I advise you to behave yourself! What are you doing hanging clothes out to dry? Are you trying to send a message to someone?!"
Finally, Christine even reached out and grabbed Cassandra's shoulders, pulling her close to her.
Cassandra, wincing in pain, frowned and said:
"Why are you so nervous? Do you think I have any chance to contact the outside world? Besides, it's just hanging out the laundry, how does that become passing a message?"
Christine stared into Cassandra's eyes for a long time before releasing her hands and saying with a touch of arrogance:
"I advise you to avoid doing anything meaningless these next couple of days and just stay in your room!"
Upon hearing Christine's words, Cassandra's lips curled up slightly, and she said with a hint of disdain:
“Miss Christine, you seem even more nervous than I am! You know, the banquet is tomorrow, but today you seem rather paranoid and restless!”
"This plan was clearly devised by you, but I seem to see fear in you! What... are you afraid of?"
Upon hearing Cassandra's words, Christine's expression changed, and she suddenly raised her right hand, seemingly about to slap Cassandra. However, at the last moment, Christine held back.
“Cassandra, I advise you not to try to provoke me; it won’t do you any good!”
After saying that, Christine strode away.
Chapter 142 Wentworth's Choice
Cassandra breathed a sigh of relief only after Christine's figure disappeared into the hall ahead. Then, without changing her expression, she left without looking back.
After Cassandra finished her breakfast in her own dining room, she suddenly said to Christine, who was also having breakfast next to her:
"I want to see my father!"
Christine calmly picked up a tissue, elegantly wiped her mouth, and then gestured to a wizard beside her. The wizard then stood up and led Cassandra upstairs.
When the wizard opened a door, Thomas Revol appeared before Cassandra.
Thomas Revol was finally free from being tied to the chair and could move around freely, though his movement was confined to the room.
Thomas Revol saw his daughter walk in, gave a wry smile, and said somewhat apologetically:
“I’m sorry, Cassandra, your father didn’t prepare a Christmas present for you this year.”
Upon hearing Thomas Revo's words, Cassandra's eyes instantly reddened. She shook her head repeatedly and went into the room, helping Thomas Revo to sit down on the bedside.
"Father, just one more day, just one more day, and we'll be safe!"
Cassandra sat down next to her father and spoke with great expectation.
But Thomas Revol shook his head with a somber expression, and then said:
“I told you, Cassandra, if their plan succeeds, we'll lose our usefulness, and those people won't let us go. And now, we're trapped here, completely cut off from the outside world, especially the Ministry of Magic. No one will come to rescue us!”
Cassandra glanced at the doorway and, seeing that the wizard who had led the way had already left, moved closer to her father and whispered:
“Father, when I sent the invitations to Wentworth and the others as they requested, I used the excuse that you had returned safely. But now that you haven’t returned to the Ministry of Magic for so long, perhaps they’ve noticed something amiss!”
But Thomas Revol seemed to have little hope, casually remarking:
"If they had really found anything, the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic would already be here! After all, they're just a bunch of eleven or twelve-year-old kids!"
But Cassandra didn't seem to agree with her father's view, instead saying:
“I believe that the new leader of the UMNO party will not be a slow-witted and incompetent person. Don’t forget, his surname is Grindelwald. At least, we can continue to retain our usefulness.”
In the end, Cassandra gave a wry smile.
Meanwhile, Wentworth was at the Greengrass family manor, sitting with Rozier and Abernathy, surrounded by wizards, discussing tomorrow's plan of action.
Although it was called a discussion, Wentworth mostly listened to their conversation, since he didn't have much experience with this kind of thing.
Abernathy shouted:
"To be honest, there's no need for discussion. Rozier, you take some men and guard the outside, casting a spell to prevent teleportation. I'll lead the charge in! It's just a small manor! Can it possibly be stronger than the Magical Congress of the United States or the Ministry of Magic of the United Kingdom?!"
Abernathy's words immediately drew a chorus of agreement, with Austin Greengrass even stepping forward to say:
"I'm willing to be the vanguard, the first to charge in!"
Just as Austin Greengrass finished speaking, he heard someone behind him say in a sinister tone:
"Little brat, we're not old yet! Want to be pioneers? Wait until I can't wield my wand anymore!"
Austin turned around and saw that the one speaking was none other than the ragged Carlo.
Austin had always considered himself arrogant, but when faced with this old wizard who was also from one of the Twenty-Eight Holy Families of England, whose seniority was the same as his grandfather's, and who had been a close follower of Gellert Grindelwald for decades, Austin immediately lost his temper.
However, some wizards objected, suggesting that they should sneak in under the cover of night to gain an advantage from the start and minimize casualties.
Some even suggested writing to the British Ministry of Magic to request that they send Aurors, while the Lich Party could simply find a place to watch the show.
Just as everyone was arguing, Rozier coughed twice. When everyone's eyes turned to Rozier, he raised his head in Wentworth's direction.
Seeing this, Abernathy leaned closer to Wentworth and whispered:
"Wentworth, what do you think we should do?"
When Wentworth asked Abernathy's question, he smiled slightly and said:
"I think we need to develop two plans. The first plan is simple: we just need to storm in. As for those guys who want me dead, we don't need to be polite. Leave two alive, and the rest can live or die!"
"As for the second option, we need to plan it out carefully! Because I need to..."
That night, the Greengrass family manor was brightly lit and filled with people.
Meanwhile, at the Revol family's manor, many people also spent a sleepless night.
Christine was still making final arrangements, Thomas Revol kept pacing and sighing in the room, while Cassandra sat quietly in her room, looking through the glass towards the manor gate, where a cool flying broom leaned quietly against the corner of the wall in front of the door.
On the morning of the second day, the day specified in Cassandra's invitation, Wentworth arrived a few minutes early at a dense forest outside Cassandra's manor, where Abernathy was already waiting.
"So, did you find anything?"
Upon meeting, Wentworth couldn't wait to ask.
Abernathy slowly shook his head and replied:
"There was nothing there. Apart from the sight of house-elves and servants bustling around the manor, there was nothing else to be found."
But Wentworth didn't seem to be asking that. He quietly walked to the edge of the dense forest, hid behind a tree, and cautiously peered into Cassandra's manor, as if searching for something.
When Wentworth saw the flying broomstick placed at the entrance of the manor, he smiled and turned to Abernathy and Rozier, saying:
"Give the order to execute the second plan!"
Upon hearing Wentworth's words, Abernathy hesitated for a moment, then said nothing and turned to leave.
But Rozier leaned in and said:
"Wentworth, may I ask why?"
Wentworth then told Rozier about the origami cranes.
Rozier frowned and said:
"In that case, judging from the doodles you made on Cassandra's origami crane, you should have left, right? I'm curious, what would you have done if this flying broom hadn't appeared here?"
Wentworth calmly replied:
"Charge in! The figures in the painting aren't me, they're you! As for the consequences, that's up to fate..."
Chapter 143 Attending the Banquet
Inside the Revol family manor, Christine stood in the shadows of a window, her gaze fixed on the entrance outside the manor.
Suddenly, two figures appeared in the open space outside the manor. One of them was Wentworth, and the other was Austin Greengrass.
When Austin Greengrass used Apparition to bring Wentworth to the entrance of Revol Estate, Austin glanced discreetly inside the estate, then said to Wentworth with some concern:
"Master, are you really going to go in by yourself? Isn't it too dangerous?"
Wentworth shook his head dismissively, then gestured for Austin Greengrass to leave quickly.
Austin Greengrass could only sigh, bow to Wentworth, and then Apparate away from the spot.
Wentworth stood outside Revol Estate, calmly surveying the estate before him.
Although Thomas Revol was once a high-ranking official in the British Ministry of Magic, the Revol family manor was much smaller than that of a long-established magical family like the Greengrass.
While Wentworth was surveying the manor before him, Christine waited anxiously, but saw no sign of Wentworth making any move into the manor.
