Cedric, standing next to Wentworth, shrugged and said:
"But the School Cup is a matter for the entire school. You can't expect the two of us to win the School Cup for Hufflepuff, can you?"
Green slapped Cedric's hand back and said:
"In fact, the main force in the competition for the College Cup is the students from the first to the fourth year. The fifth-year students are busy with the OWLS exams, and the sixth and seventh-year students are busy with graduation. They have almost no influence on the College Cup."
"In grades one through four, especially grades one and two, students are often the main recipients of bonus points! After all, as lower-grade students, professors mainly encourage you, and you can get bonus points for answering any question correctly. But higher-grade students don't get this treatment! On the contrary, if you answer a question incorrectly, the professors will deduct points!"
At this point, Green pursed his lips, as if recalling some unpleasant memory.
But Green quickly recovered and continued:
"You two, although you're still a bit behind me as a prefect, you have an overwhelming advantage among your peers. Your task for the next period is to frantically earn points for me! Not to completely overwhelm Slytherin, but at least don't let Slytherin pull ahead in points!"
"As long as our scores aren't too far off from Slytherins', then this year's House Cup will definitely belong to Hufflepuff!"
Hearing this, Cedric asked, somewhat confused:
"Why is that? Why is it that just because our scores are similar to Slytherins', the House Cup is guaranteed to be ours?"
Wentworth then spoke up from the side:
"Is it because of Quidditch?"
Green snapped his fingers, pointed at Wentworth, and said:
"You're right! In this year's Quidditch tournament, we've already defeated the strongest Slytherin team, and excluding those Ravenclaw nerds, if we can defeat Gryffindor as well, the championship will definitely be ours, Hufflepuff! And the Quidditch champion gets a lot of points in the House Cup! So, work hard to earn those points, young man!"
After hearing Green's explanation, Cedric nodded in understanding, but Wentworth raised his hand and said:
“Excuse me, I have nothing to say about Cedric. Let alone a second-year student, even a third or fourth-year student, Cedric can be a scoring machine.”
"But don't forget, there's Cassandra in the first year! And she happens to be a Slytherin! Other subjects are one thing, but if Cassandra can master Snape's Potions class, getting a high score will be easier than brewing a potion. After all, brewing a potion requires physical labor, while she only needs to use her mouth!"
Hearing Wentworth's words, Green glared at him with a hint of exasperation, and said:
"She's just a woman, Wentworth. Have some confidence. Can't you even handle a woman?"
Upon hearing Green's words, Wentworth immediately straightened his back and said:
"Nonsense! Don't forget, she actively sought to become my follower!"
At this point, Wentworth shrank back again and continued:
"I just didn't agree..."
Green couldn't help but roll his eyes, but in the end, he patted Wentworth on the shoulder and said mysteriously:
"Don't worry, Wentworth, I'll handle Cassandra!"
"A solution? What solution?"
Wentworth couldn't help but ask out of curiosity.
But Green shook his head, smiling broadly, and said he wanted to keep it a secret.
Wentworth glanced at Cedric beside him, only to see Cedric shrug and indicate that he knew nothing. Helpless, Wentworth stopped thinking about it.
Despite their banter, Wentworth and Cedric were determined to help Green, seeing his unusual obsession with this year's House Cup and his determination to win. After all, they didn't want to watch Slytherin win their sixth consecutive House Cup right before their eyes.
Chapter 156 Cassandra's Cufflink
Now that you've made up your mind, you must take action.
On the second day of the Charms class, Professor Flitwick explained and demonstrated a very practical Charm—the Restoration Charm. The incantation for the Charm is "Restore to Newness."
To be honest, this level of spell is no challenge for Wentworth.
After Professor Flitwick finished explaining, he signaled to the students that they could begin practicing, with the goal of repairing a small, damaged item in front of them.
Wentworth took out his wand, pointed it at a small, broken mirror, and waved it while saying:
"Completely restored!"
The small mirror in front of Wentworth immediately looked brand new, as if it were brand new!
Wentworth's fluid and seamless movements immediately caught Professor Flitwick's attention.
Professor Flitwick looked at Wentworth with great satisfaction and said without reservation:
"Perfect! Absolutely perfect! From the angle of the wand swing to the use of the spell and the control of the magic, the healing charm is impeccable! Hufflepuff, add twenty points!"
Flitwick's words immediately drew cheers from the Hufflepuff students.
At that very moment, a spell was cast from the direction of the Slytherin students:
"Completely restored!"
Everyone looked in the direction from which the sound came, and saw Cassandra holding a wand. Below Cassandra's wand, a mechanical clock stood quietly, making a "tick-tock" sound.
Seeing this, Professor Flitwick also clapped and said:
"Very good, Miss Cassandra was a little slow, but it's still a perfect healing charm! Slytherin, ten points!"
A round of applause also rang out among the Slytherin students, but Cassandra, sitting among the Slytherin students, remained expressionless, seemingly unconcerned.
A Slytherin student, seemingly believing Cassandra was upset that he had been a step behind Wentworth, leaned down behind her and said:
"It's okay, Cassandra. Next time, you'll definitely be faster than Wentworth!"
However, in response to her classmate's words of comfort, Cassandra merely glanced at her dismissively and said:
"Instead of wasting time talking, why don't you use this Healing Charm first! As a Slytherin, you can't possibly spend an entire class period without learning a Healing Charm, can you?!"
The other person immediately blushed and retreated.
During the Transfiguration class, Professor McGonagall distributed a steel needle to each student.
Just as the Hufflepuff and Slytherin students were each holding a steel needle and looking completely bewildered, Professor McGonagall walked back to the front of the group and placed a steel needle on the podium at the front of the classroom.
With a flick of Professor McGonagall's wand, the steel needle instantly transformed into a furry little mouse. The mouse even twitched its nose with great seriousness before leaping off the podium and running towards the door.
But after running only a few steps, with a flick of Professor McGonagall's wand, the mouse turned back into a steel needle.
Then, Professor McGonagall stood at the front of the class and said:
"Classmates, we've been learning Transfiguration for a while now. Today, let's put it to the test and see how well you've mastered it."
"The steel needles in your hands are the materials we will use in today's lesson. I don't expect you to be able to turn inanimate objects into living animals like I can on your first try. Feel free to use your imagination!"
"Before the end of get out of class, the student who can conjure the most exquisite item from a steel needle the fastest will receive bonus points! Let's begin!"
However, shortly after Professor McGonagall announced the start, a loud "bang" was heard in the classroom, startling the students.
Everyone quickly looked in the direction from which the sound came, and saw a student from Hufflepuff School, his face covered in soot, staring blankly at a piece of charcoal on the table in front of him, which was constantly emitting black smoke.
Professor McGonagall, however, walked over unhurriedly. Clearly, this Vice-Headmaster of Hogwarts was used to such scenes. She looked at the charred remains on the table, sighed, and then asked the student:
"I'd really like to know, what was you thinking just now?"
The student looked blank and said without thinking:
“I’m kind of missing the barbecues I had during the holidays, Professor McGonagall.”
Professor McGonagall kindly replaced the student's needle and then deducted five points from Hufflepuff.
"I forgot to mention earlier that Transfiguration is a very profound form of magic, so everyone must concentrate when using it, otherwise, all sorts of accidents can easily happen!"
At this point, Professor McGonagall glanced at the student and continued:
"Of course, I think that after experiencing it firsthand, people will have a deeper impression of what I'm saying. This is based on my teaching experience over the years!"
After listening to Professor McGonagall's words, no similar accidents occurred again during the entire class. The classroom atmosphere was wonderful, and everyone was focused on practicing the Transfiguration techniques on their hands.
Halfway through the lesson, Wentworth looked at what he had in his hand, nodded with great satisfaction, and then raised his hand.
Professor McGonagall walked over, glanced at what Wentworth was holding, and said with great satisfaction:
"Well done, a very beautiful brooch. What's the pattern on it?"
In response to Professor McGonagall's question, Wentworth smiled modestly and then said:
“It’s a ginkgo leaf, Professor. It represents resilience and composure.”
Upon hearing Wentworth's answer, Professor McGonagall smiled and nodded, then said:
"Well done, Hufflepuff, ten points!"
As the class progressed, students kept raising their hands to indicate that they had completed their projects. Professor McGonagall examined each student's work, but most of them were simple items, such as knives and forks, without any patterns.
When Professor McGonagall approached Cassandra, she made a sound of surprise, followed by a meaningful remark:
“Miss Cassandra, cufflinks are usually worn on the sleeves of gentlemen. I rarely see witches using transfiguration to create cufflinks. Can you tell me what you were thinking just now?”
Upon hearing Professor McGonagall's words, Cassandra blushed, but before she could reply, Professor McGonagall's expression suddenly changed. She grabbed the cufflink from Cassandra's desk and examined it closely.
"This symbol is... Cassandra! Where have you seen this symbol before? It seems you know what this symbol represents! Right?! I want you to know what you're doing!"
After Professor McGonagall finished speaking, she turned and glanced at Wentworth, which puzzled Wentworth. But then, Professor McGonagall announced:
"get out of class dismissed!"
Chapter 157 The Battle for Points Continues
Everyone was bewildered when they saw Professor McGonagall storm out of the classroom. Only Wentworth, after being glanced at by Professor McGonagall one last time, felt a sense of foreboding and quickly walked toward Cassandra.
Upon approaching Cassandra, Wentworth noticed that Cassandra did not seem to be greatly affected by Professor McGonagall. Instead, she was examining the cufflink in her hand with a satisfied expression.
Wentworth leaned closer and peered at the cufflink on Cassandra's hand, only to see Cassandra place it directly in front of her eyes.
Wentworth immediately noticed the Deathly Hallows symbol on the sleeve stud, and felt a rush of blood to his head.
"Is it pretty? It's for you!"
Cassandra smiled and spoke to Wentworth, completely ignoring the surprised looks from the Slytherin students around her.
Wentworth took the cufflink from Cassandra, gave a smile that was more like a grimace, and nodded, saying:
"Thank you, Cassandra. Remember to send a real one next time. After all, things created by Transfiguration don't last very long."
