You're not just biting your mouth, you're biting my heart!
Michael wanted to shout that out loud. But she couldn't speak. Her foolish words had hurt the boy again, and she was afraid that if she said anything more, she would touch Wayne's sensitive nerves again.
She hesitated for a moment, as if she had made up her mind, then stood up, walked behind Wayne, gently bent down, held Wayne's head, buried him in her chest, and gently patted his back, feeling his body, which was slightly stiff from fear, slowly relax.
"It's okay, trust me."
The scent of jasmine is pleasant. It doesn't quite match Michael's slightly seductive demeanor.
My nose was filled with this fragrance, and my head was completely enveloped, not a single ray of light could penetrate, I was completely enveloped in softness.
Wayne suddenly panicked.
Did I use too much force?
To prevent himself from lying, Michael used magic to tell himself, "You must not lie." At that moment, Wayne made a small move to forcibly protect and stabilize the mental link between the two.
In other words, without Miss Michael's notice, Wayne had actually maintained a mental link with her the whole time. Her mental Originium spell, which should have only lasted for a moment, was forcibly solidified by Wayne's immense mental power, building a bridge between their hearts... No, this analogy might be a bit inappropriate.
More accurately, it should be called a water pipeline?
Wayne's mental strength was simply too great. He was releasing his emotions in a targeted manner towards Michael, who was in a state of receptiveness the whole time. It was impossible for her to give Wayne any reverse suggestions.
In other words, those so-called "you must not lie," "you should be grateful," "you should have faith in God," "you should be ashamed of what you have done," and "Miss Michael can help you" and similar suggestions not only failed to affect Wayne, but were instead washed away by the immense spiritual power.
Miss Michael [cannot lie] - so she confessed that she was able to convene the College of Cardinals, and also that the College of Cardinals had doubts about Wayne.
Miss Michael [should repay kindness] - so when Wayne pointed out Laterano's "debts" to him, Michael felt extremely heartbroken and wanted to repay Wayne.
Miss Michael should be ashamed of everything she has done—so she feels incredibly ashamed of herself for asking Wayne to return to Laterano, for not trusting Wayne, for asking Wayne to come here, and for Wayne using spiritual Originium Arts.
Miss Michael [can help you] - so she firmly believes that she must help Wayne. She must do it. If she can't do it now, she will wait until the future. When she becomes the next Pope of Laterano, she will still help Wayne.
Miss Michael herself was completely unaware of this, because it was simply her own will.
Wayne didn't use the Mandate of Heaven's authority; rather, he inadvertently allowed the Divine Guidance to backfire under the surge of spiritual energy. The Divine Guidance, unlike the Mandate of Heaven's authority, never imposes its will on others; instead, it amplifies the goodness in their hearts. Michael remains Michael; she didn't become a witch. On the contrary, she even became kinder.
It's just that the object of her kindness has unconsciously shifted from the Lateran Church to Wayne.
Wayne, struggling to peek out from the softness and take a couple of breaths of fresh air, heard the girl's soft sobs, but he didn't say anything.
He figured Miss Michael was probably driven mad by his own antics...
No, if she was a bad person to begin with, then this shouldn't be considered evil.
She fell from goodness, the Lateran Saint, the natural-born angel—Miss Michael, who fell from grace in her goodness.
National Day Special Episode Officially Voting
The author mentioned this in the previous chapters, planning to write a side story during the National Day holiday to include characters that are not easy to incorporate into the main storyline but that the author really wants to write about or that readers really want to see.
After preliminary voting, there are currently three factions.
Grandia (Deep Sea Trio): I really didn't expect this; the number of votes for the Deep Sea Trio wasn't even as many as Grandia's alone. However, writing about Grandia will inevitably involve Titi and Specter, so let's treat this as part of the story. Please post your vote here; one vote per person is sufficient.
Victoria Group: Kongxian, Fairy Tale Group, Rich Woman Group. Kongxian has already appeared, but I didn't think much about it at the time, and it was a bit rushed since I had just started writing. The side stories could be included though. As for the Fairy Tale Group and Rich Woman Group, there are too many characters to write about. I've considered it, and it might get very long, so unless the votes are overwhelmingly in favor of writing this, I personally don't want to (mainly because I'm afraid it will be too long and I won't be able to finish it during the National Day holiday, causing me to get stuck halfway through and delaying the main story).
The journey of Sister 42 and Mud Rock as the school bully seems interesting, so I decided to join.
As for the rest, such as Deep Pond and that scumbag Mandela cat, she has a role in the final volume, the Deep Pond volume, so there's no rush to include her in the side stories list; therefore, she's rejected.
Please vote for the post today, everyone. I'll start writing it tomorrow.
I'm going to spend the whole day here today, it's National Day, and I'm going home to be with my family. I'll take my grandpa to see the Chosin Reservoir. My grandpa is a veteran of the Korean War, and he's quite interested in this movie. Since I have some time, I'll go with him to see it.
Finally, I wish everyone a happy National Day!
National Day Extra Chapter 42 and Mud Rock's School Bully Journey (1)
Located in Victoria, location unknown, in New Kazdale, weather is clear and air quality is excellent.
I am writing this diary entry both to commemorate the start of my teaching career at the Royal Military Academy Kazdel and to prove that I have lived.
Because one day, I might be driven crazy by those two most mischievous and naughty students in the college.
"boom--"
A muffled thud echoed in their ears as the expensive mahogany door of the classroom was violently blasted open by an inexplicable shockwave, crashing into the corridor wall and shattering the thick bulletproof glass that Dean Therese had just replaced. Immediately afterward, a thick plume of smoke mixed with sparks and a cloud of dust billowed from the classroom, making it impossible for anyone in the corridor to open their eyes.
The unknown Sarkaz professor silently took out a pen from his breast pocket and made a mark on his diary, which he hadn't yet closed.
[Within Victoria, location unknown, New Kazdale, sunny, air quality excellent (crossed out) poor.]
He then closed his notebook, resisting the urge to take a deep breath—doing so in this environment would probably make him cough up his lungs—and pulled out a bottle of [Rhine Life Brand - Quick-Acting Heart-Saving Pills] specially purchased and distributed to all the teachers by Dean Therese. He uncorked the bottle, poured out two pills, and put them in his mouth. Feeling the dryness in his mouth and the pungent taste hitting his head, a look of resignation crossed his face. He resolutely stepped into the classroom, which was billowing with black smoke.
"Is he the victim today?" a passing student whispered to his classmate.
Her companion firmly pressed down on her shoulder, retorting, "No, he is the real hero."
The Royal Military Academy of Victoria, Kazdel Branch—hereinafter referred to as Kazdel Academy—is a renowned (or perhaps not so renowned) institution in Terra, overseen by the Victoria People's Council and organized by the Kazdel Military Council. Its aim is to cultivate outstanding talents for the Sarkaz and unite the vital forces of the Sarkaz. Today, unsurprisingly, it has produced another victim.
Therese sat in his top-floor office, the mighty Iron-Blooded General, looking at the leave application form in his hand with a bewildered expression on his face.
When he turned his gaze to the thick stack of leave forms beside him, the confusion on his face became even more pronounced.
When he looked up and saw the teachers and professors standing in front of the table, lining up to submit their leave requests, the bewilderment on his face was beyond words.
"Everyone, what happened? If I'm not mistaken, today is still the first week of school, right?"
Therese wanted to get angry, but the other side had a large number of people, and they were all old Sarkaz with a bad reputation. If they joined forces, he might not be able to beat them, so he had no choice but to patiently ask.
To everyone's surprise, the Sarkaz members crammed into the office exchanged bewildered glances, opened their mouths, and shoved each other, but none of them were willing to step forward and speak.
There's no way around it, it's too embarrassing, it's just too embarrassing.
Although they saw similar emotions in each other's eyes, they kept quiet about it. They were old acquaintances, and Kazdel was such a small place; they would run into each other all the time. They couldn't very well undermine each other, right?
Seeing that everyone remained silent, Therese was starting to lose face.
I, Theresis, am the chairman of the Kazdel Military Council, the brother of the Demon King, and the headmaster of this academy. Although I am overshadowed by Theresia, the Demon King, in terms of status, and the headmaster is also under the control of the board of directors, it doesn't mean you can make fun of me.
I know there are many of you, and if we were to fight, I definitely wouldn't be able to beat you. So I gave you all face by asking for leave, and I patiently asked you why. And yet you all just kept silent and ignored me?
Do you think I, Therese, am a vegetarian?
"Everyone," he tapped the table, his sharply defined face as cold as ice, "I don't know what prompted you all to collectively choose to take leave, but since you're unwilling to tell me the truth, I naturally can't make an exception for you. You can take leave today, but those who take leave don't need to come back."
There's no need to come back. Everyone present understood what that meant.
Therese is planning to fire them!
Sarkaz, somewhat indignant, stubbornly tried to say something, but before he could even open his mouth, Theresis shut him down with a single sentence:
"Of course, if someone can explain to me the reason and necessity for requesting leave, I, as the headmaster, will naturally consider it carefully and agree to their request."
Give them a stick, then give them a carrot. Don't cut off their hope, and don't encourage them to betray you. The Sarkaz aren't exactly paragons of virtue; when faced with choices involving personal gain, they will undoubtedly choose to prioritize themselves over others.
Besides, this isn't exactly a life-or-death situation; it's just a matter of losing face. Don't they often secretly mock each other? It's just that putting it out in public causes a little awkwardness.
Soon, just as Theresis had predicted, someone stepped forward.
"Your Majesty..."
“Although I think you should address me as Principal here…” Therese interrupted, then said, “But I’ll let it slide this time. Be careful next time. Now, continue.”
“Chairman, I am the instructor for the Originium Arts practical training course, mainly responsible for the Originium Arts defense course. My name is Andros,” said the tall Sarkaz man. His body was muscular and bronze, looking very solid. But at this moment, his tone was like that of a frightened little Phil, not daring to speak loudly, and he could only lower his head and slowly say to Theresis, “Actually, I don’t necessarily need to ask for leave, but please consider transferring me from Class Four’s course and find someone more suitable.”
Class 4?
Therese raised an eyebrow. What happened to Class Four?
Kazdel Academy, the Sarkaz institution of higher learning, is currently somewhat empty. Lacking Theresa's direct appeal, the Military Council alone cannot attract a large number of Sarkaz students. Therefore, excluding faculty and staff, the academy currently only has four classes.
Classes one, two, and three are all local students from Kazdel, recruited and recommended by Theresis or members of the Military Council. They are of different ages, and because their numbers are currently too small, Theresis has not forced them to be divided into grades, but instead has adopted a class-based teaching method that is tailored to individual students.
There are far too many confident Professor Sarkaz, and far too few students, so this luxurious one-on-one teaching method is actually feasible at present.
Class Four is a bit special, as they come from outside Kazdel, but from all the Sarkaz people of Terra. Some of them come from war-torn Columbia, some from the Ursus Empire where the war has ended, some from Victoria itself, but most come from the wilderness, coming to the school simply for a full meal.
There were many of them, but not enough to divide into two classes, and the students' quality varied. The professors weren't particularly enthusiastic about teaching these non-locals. With the idea that every single one could help increase their profile, Theresis accepted them, but never really got to know them in depth.
Unexpectedly, Class 4 turned out to be the source of the problem.
"What happened?" Theresis asked seriously. Although he didn't think highly of the Sarkaz students who weren't native to Kazdel, believing that most of them wouldn't feel a sense of belonging to Kazdel in the future, he couldn't show too much favoritism considering his agreement with Wayne. If the professors were asked to take leave or reschedule classes because the students in Class Four were too weak, useless, and hopeless, he would absolutely not agree.
Even if you have to kneel, you have to finish the job.
But to his surprise, upon hearing Theresis's question, Andros seemed to recall something terrifying. His breathing suddenly quickened, his hands trembled, and he slumped into his chair, saying in an almost mournful tone:
"What happened? What happened? I saw the Red Demon!"
"I witnessed a volcanic eruption, the earth shaking, and a giant, a giant of fire, nearly crushed me!"
National Day Extra Chapter 42 and Mud Rock's School Bully Journey (2)
This is a sad story.
Andros, a mountain troll, is covered in thick rocks, beneath which lie solid muscles, making his defense incredibly strong—as hard as a rock.
As an elder of the Mountain Trolls, his all-out defense was impenetrable even to the archmage of the Banshee race. However, since joining the Kazdel Military Council, under Theresis's aggressive offensive, offensive, and more offensive policy, his formidable defensive abilities had been largely unused. Therefore, after the establishment of Kazdel Academy, he was among the first to apply to Theresis for a position as a professor of Originium Arts defense.
"As a master of magic, even if my offensive skills aren't particularly strong, I'm more than capable of teaching defensive techniques. Besides, given my status, I have quite a bit of experience in defense."
Andros declared defiantly, glancing disdainfully at those around him who were also vying for the position.
"If you don't believe me, all of you come at me together. If you can break through my defense, I'll admit defeat. I'll hand over this position to you."
At the time, he had no idea what he was about to face.
After successfully defeating all his competitors and securing the position, Andros finally stepped onto the lecture hall as he had always dreamed of. In the first three classes, he effortlessly used his years of accumulated knowledge to completely sway...cough cough, leave those little Sarkaz bewildered, until he confidently walked into Class Four.
Andros described the scene of that day as follows...
After breakfast, Andros arrived at the academy on time. Theresis, as the current chairman and headmaster, placed great importance on the school's development and future. On the first day of school, he announced the school rules and regulations to all teachers and students, the most prominent of which was the prohibition of unexcused absences and tardiness. The Military Committee deducted a large sum from its meager monthly income to provide salaries and subsidies to the academy's teachers and students, not to support a group of people who came to slack off. If you were to be late, you would be kicked out of the school. Andros had already witnessed Theresis, in a fit of rage, dragging a forbidden blood demon out of the academy and hanging him on a lamppost to dry, resulting in the blood demon prince who had recommended him being publicly criticized by Theresis at a committee meeting.
In order not to lose this generous subsidy, and also to save face, Andros arrived right on time.
There is only one class today, which is in Class 4.
Class Four was a mixed bag, with many Sarkaz from outside Kazdel. Theresis didn't place much importance on teaching these non-native Sarkaz, but she still had to deal with them.
Andros had already planned it out. Today, he would give the students of Class Four a "practical lesson." He would curl up into a giant rock and sleep, letting the students attack him with Originium Arts. Since they couldn't penetrate his rock-solid armor, the attacks would feel more like gentle massages than attacks. He would wake up around the time class ended. He would then give a summary, advising the students on how to deal with an enemy with such high defense, and that would be the end of it.
