But when they sensed Los, they immediately wilted as if they were seeing their father's children, and dared not make any unnecessary movements.

Over the next ten minutes, Carrington's body underwent multiple decompositions and reconstructions, sometimes transforming into a grotesque monster, sometimes into a bloated mass of flesh, and sometimes into a non-human entity with bones and flesh torn apart.

Finally, as all the bodies were reassembled, a man with jet-black hair, who looked to be around forty years old, with a resolute face and a strong physique, lay on the ground.

Los nodded in satisfaction. After the evolution and reorganization through the blood of the ancient gods, the reborn Carrington went directly from level 18 to level 38, which is considered top-tier combat power among all humans.

With a slight movement of his palm, Los's hundreds of tentacles retracted and merged back into an ordinary palm.

The mutation of the blood of the ancient gods is extremely crazy and uncontrollable. The reason why Carrington was able to become like this is because Los has been deliberately controlling and modifying it.

Otherwise, Carrington would have already turned into a lump of flesh that only knew how to reproduce and devour endlessly.

Carrington, now a normal human, calmly opened his eyes, and then his body stood up straight in a strange way.

Then he knelt on one knee, his face filled with utmost reverence and gratitude, and said, "Thank you, young master, for giving me a new life. I now feel stronger and healthier than ever before."

"From now on, your orders will be the goals of my actions, and carrying out your will will be my highest principle of action."

During the process of mutation, he had already learned the cause and effect of the whole thing, so at this point, apart from reverence and loyalty, he felt nothing else.

Los wanted to nod slightly, but unfortunately he didn't have that ability yet.

“I’m so glad to see you like this, Uncle Carrington,” Los said.

After all, this is the only person he can consider family now.

Carrington felt a surge of warmth and happiness upon hearing this familiar address.

"Young Master, are you alright?" Although Carrington knew that his young master was very powerful now, he was still worried about him because his head was missing.

Although he had come into contact with evil gods many times, he knew very well that even those who believed in external gods would die if they were killed.

But the young master in front of us was killed but didn't die!

"Do I look like I'm in a lot of trouble?" Los asked rhetorically.

After a few seconds of hesitation, Carrington tentatively said, "You look like something's up."

"Hahaha!"

Los's invisible head let out a light laugh: "I have received special favor. Not only do I have no problems now, but I also feel that my mind has been liberated."

"And through the rituals in the basement, they gained a great deal of knowledge."

Upon hearing this, Carrington said in a low voice, "So you already knew? I didn't want you to be involved in these things; it's dangerous."

Los walked over and patted Carrington on the shoulder. He was a ruthless and extremely crazy man, but his loyalty to the Arkham family was beyond question.

In the final battle, during the fierce fight against the headless mayor, Carrington, who had already been killed, would appear in spirit form to help Los Arkham block a fatal attack, allowing him to successfully transform into his final form.

Los didn't elaborate on the matter, and went straight to the question: "Who killed you and then took my head?"

At this, Carrington's face instantly darkened, his eyes flashing with a ferocious, bloodthirsty light: "He is a fanatic of the Hand of Chaos, known as Mad Heim, and is the most powerful fighting force in the Vanks Gang right now."

“I’ve seen him a few times before. He’s a disgusting guy. He has a habit of eating people and collecting human heads. He smells disgusting all over.”

Los was somewhat surprised to hear this, because there was no such character in his design, or rather, he had not made any detailed settings in this regard.

"This is a complete world; all the other parts that I didn't design were filled in very naturally!"

Thinking of this, Los said directly, "Uncle Carrington, you now have the power to easily kill Mad Heim. Go find him, kill him, and then get my head back."

Upon hearing this, Carrington's muscles began to twitch as if alive, highlighting his excitement and desire.

"Young Master, I only need one hour now."

Los nodded in satisfaction: "I'll be waiting for your good news."

Just as Carrington was about to turn and leave, he asked again, "Young Master, where are the others from the Vanks Gang and the Hand of Chaos?"

"Don't touch them for now; I have a use for them."

"understand!"

Carrington left quickly, and Los stood up and went to the study on the second floor.

The situation in Arkham is now far more complex than he initially envisioned, because many of the gaps he couldn't fill in have now been filled.

This involves many details he was unaware of, as well as entirely new relationships and existences.

His top priority now is to gather intelligence.

Chapter 0005 Having a Head Makes You Feel Safer

Upon arriving at the study on the second floor, one finds an ashtray on the desk and some books still out of place on the bookshelf, bearing traces of his father, George Arkham.

Los casually sat down on a camphor wood chair and looked down at the remaining municipal buildings.

"On June 4, 1930, according to the bi-monthly calendar, a coal mine was discovered on the north side. A week later, it was taken over by Dani Aubanon of the Auban gang. Several negotiations ended in failure."

"June 9, 1930, according to the bi-monthly calendar: In the past year, the Arkham Armory has been looted three times. The Finn gang colluded with city officials to openly rob the armory and smuggle weapons."

"On June 13, 1930, according to the bi-monthly calendar, Thomas Pick secretly led the Tide Pirates to rob two cargo ships in Glory Harbor and stole contraband drugs worth two million Rosa dollars. According to intelligence, the cargo was hidden somewhere in Arkham."

Upon seeing this, Los's headless body leaned back in the chair and sighed.

Once the scenario was realized, the troubles and complexities far exceeded his expectations.

The initial concept is fixed, but when it is developed into a real world, countless possibilities can emerge.

After all, people are living beings.

None of the things in this thick stack of municipal government reports were things he had planned in advance.

"There are nine districts and eight municipal councilors, each representing the interests of different groups. I, as the mayor, am merely a tool to mediate their relationships and ensure that the majority of them benefit."

Thinking of this, Los suddenly understood why his father sought that extraordinary power: he wanted to rely on that power to break free from this miserable bondage.

With a sigh for his deceased, cheap father, Los began his plan.

He has many methods now, but the only one that is feasible and in line with the city's development interests is blood therapy.

Town development requires people; he cannot use his ancient god power to kill everyone who hates him.

Therefore, he now needs to use the Blood Healing Technique to raise his reputation to Revered throughout Arkham, turning ordinary people who dislike him into his followers.

"Blood therapy is not something that can be said without real knowledge. Even I need to conduct relevant experiments. In this regard, we need to find a trustworthy person."

"In addition, we need to take back the rights to the central area first."

The municipal core of Arkham is located in the central area, in the northeastern part of the city. This area is home to many important companies and also has the largest slum, making it the most densely populated area in the city.

The organization that truly controls the central area is the Rhodes Chamber of Commerce, a large conglomerate that controls every aspect of Arkham City.

This chamber of commerce, and the chaotic hand behind it, is naturally the primary target.

About fifty minutes later, there was a knock on the study door.

“Young Master, I’m back,” Carrington’s voice rang out.

"Come in."

Then Carrington walked in carrying a box in his arms.

“Young Master, here is your head.” Carrington walked over and respectfully placed the box on the table.

Ross asked, "How did things go?"

Carrington replied, "Heim has a habit of collecting human heads, and he took your head back to prepare it as a specimen."

After a pause, Carrington said, "Then I let him finish the final collection, and in the moment of his death, he collected his own head."

Los smiled. "Uncle Carrington, I believe he will be grateful for your kindness after he dies."

Carrington smiled slightly on his otherwise stern face: "I think so too."

Having just killed his enemy, Carrington was overjoyed and felt extremely happy.

When Los opened the box, he saw a pale-skinned blond youth who was quite handsome and had a reserved, melancholic air about him.

Carrington said, "Heim was a madman. I tortured him before I killed him, but as a fanatic, he didn't say anything."

Los casually said, "No need to ask. I already know who wants to kill me, but it's not convenient to break off relations right now."

As he spoke, Los picked up his own head, placed it on his neck, and then let it slide off his neck and fall to the ground.

“Emmm,” Los fell into deep thought.

Carrington lowered his head, pretending not to see, and the quiet atmosphere became somewhat awkward.

Los coughed lightly, picked up his head as if nothing had happened, and said, "It seems that relying solely on human strength is not enough."

And so, his invisible mind began to work.

In its headless form, Los's spirit can extend almost infinitely, encompassing and comprehending a vast amount of knowledge.

Los picked up the head again, preparing to place it on his neck, this time with the application of knowledge in his mind, combined with the energy stored in his body.

Suddenly, a large number of fleshy buds and tentacles full of suckers and barbs sprouted from the cross-section of his neck.

These buds and tentacles pierced directly into the cross-section of the wound on Los's head, firmly fixing it in place. Then, with a downward pull, Los's head was securely fixed to his neck.

Unfortunately, the bruised knife scar around his neck was still very noticeable.

Carrington's expression was filled with fanaticism and reverence upon seeing this. His young master's current state far exceeded his imagination, but this did not make him feel fear. Instead, he felt happy and excited.

quack!quack!

After stretching his neck a couple of times, Los nodded in satisfaction: "The fixation is fairly secure, but having a head still makes me feel safer."

Carrington said respectfully, "Young Master, your greatness fills me with admiration."

Los smiled slightly, but felt that the corners of his mouth on his head had not changed at all; it was still a deadpan expression.

"What's wrong with your head? It's not cooperating!" Los raised his hand and tapped his head.

Then, under his control, more tiny tentacles extended from his body, reconnecting to the nerves and brain in various parts of his head through his neck.

"Hahahaha!" Suddenly, Los opened his mouth wide and let out a strange laugh.

The sudden, shrill laughter startled Carrington: "Young master, why are you laughing?"

Los covered his mouth with his hand, trying to control his expression, and said somewhat awkwardly, "Your brain is out of control."

The nerves in his head and body were too complex. Although he knew how to wire them through strange knowledge, there were too many, and mistakes were occasionally made.

Carrington didn't know what it meant and thought it was a more professional term. He felt it was very profound and sophisticated, but he didn't ask any further questions.
