"Wow!" Jack exclaimed in admiration as he saw Peter charging straight at him. "This guy's got guts, daring to come up here all by himself." Jack immediately drew his pistol from his waist and fired a shot at Peter in mid-air.

To Jack's surprise, the man neither dodged nor flinched, and the bullet struck Jack's chest with a clang, as if it had hit a metal plate.

"I didn't expect this guy to be so powerful. He can actually use Moonwalk and Iron Body at the same time in mid-air. It seems he's quite formidable even within CP." Seeing that the cosplay props were useless against Peter, Jack casually tucked the gun back into his waistband.

At this moment, the hardworking MVP, who fought the most and always fought the fiercest, the fishman Haku, who always went head-to-head with the enemy, was about to step forward and block Jack's way.

Instead, Jack stopped him, saying, "Since he's already charging in, the lurking members behind him won't be able to hold back either. You two deal with them, especially Fujitora. You must be careful and find them all. Let me try out this high-ranking member of the CP. Besides, as the leader, if I don't show some strength, won't others look down on me?"

Sure enough, as soon as Jack finished speaking, several spies who had been lurking in the crowd somehow walked to the front and charged straight at Jack with their weapons raised.

Haku and Fujitora rushed forward and engaged in a fierce battle with the group.

When the others saw someone in the group betray them, they immediately wanted to go and help, but before they could take a step, they were stopped by Haku.

"Don't come any closer, they're strapped with explosives. Leave these guys to us."

Holy crap, these guys are fearless, absolutely insane, strapping explosives to themselves. Looks like they were prepared to die trying.

Upon hearing this, Jack quickly took two steps back. "You two aren't afraid of bombs, but I am!"

Just as Jack stopped, he felt a gust of wind blow over his head, which startled him so much that he quickly crouched down. As soon as Jack crouched down, a crescent-shaped blue light swept across his head and disappeared into the floor tiles behind him, forming a clear slash mark.

Jack was still shaken. It turned out that Peter had run up to a short distance in front of Jack and kicked out with a powerful kick when Jack wasn't paying attention.

Of course, Jack reacted quickly. As soon as he crouched down, he pulled out the Punisher and shot Peter while still crouching.

Haha, would this shot be effective against a master of the Six Styles? There are a hundred ways to dodge it.

That was Peter's thought process. He looked at the gun aimed at him, at the menacing red light of the sight below. Peter chose to use Paper Drawing in mid-air, and then Jack pulled the trigger.

Then Peter realized his mistake; the bullet struck him squarely in the arm.

"Tch, a paper drawing? How can you even use a paper drawing to turn your body slightly? I was aiming for the heart." Jack stood up and muttered to himself with a headache.

Actually, Peter was really in a bind and shocked. He couldn't even dodge the shot with his paper drawing. The shot was too fast.

The application of paper drawing involves sensing the airflow caused by an attack and then dodging according to the changes in the airflow. This often allows one to narrowly escape an attack. In fact, paper drawing is one of the methods for training Observation Haki, a weakened version of Observation Haki.

The weakness lies not in the perception of danger, but in the perception of airflow. In other words, the paper-drawn image can only react after the bullet leaves the barrel, while with Observation Haki, one can sense danger and react before the trigger is pulled or before the bullet is aimed.

Of course, if facing an ordinary opponent, or even a flintlock musket or smoothbore musket, using paper to deal with such attacks is more than enough.

But Peter never expected that the strangely shaped pistol in Jack's hand had bullets that were second only to the speed of sound. The bullets disappeared almost instantly after leaving the barrel, and Peter only managed to avoid being shot in the chest, but he was still shot in the arm.

Chapter Fifty-Eight: Six Forms

“Not bad, you actually managed to hurt me.” Peter landed in front of Jack and said with a ferocious expression, “The guy who injured me last time, his body has been eaten clean by the fish.”

As he spoke, he strained his muscles and squeezed the bullet out of his arm. It could be seen that the bullet was only stuck on the surface of the muscle, and the bullet was completely submerged in the muscle without penetrating very deep.

Upon seeing this action, Jack raised an eyebrow. This guy's six techniques are quite well-practiced. It seems that after realizing that the paper drawing couldn't be dodged, he stopped the paper drawing and urgently activated the iron block. Therefore, this shot did not cause much damage.

Jack was now even more troubled. If it weren't for the penetrating effect of the Punisher, this shot would probably have only caused a superficial wound, without even touching the muscle.

Such opportunities are hard to come by. Peter is already wary of the Punisher and will react to the slightest movement. Unless you can sense his movements with your Haki, it will be difficult to hit him again.

"Well, since you shot me just now, it's my turn to shoot you now." Peter forcefully squeezed the bullet out of his arm, which meant that his left arm was not seriously injured.

Then, with a "chua" sound, Peter vanished from Jack's sight. Undoubtedly, Peter had used Shave.

Jack knew something was wrong and held his breath, focusing all his attention on Peter's movements.

"On the right!" By the time Jack realized the danger, Peter had already darted to Jack's right and was about to launch an attack.

In the nick of time, Jack quickly switched the Punisher in his right hand to a dagger and blocked it upwards.

"Finger gun." Peter had been planning this attack for a long time. It would be impolite not to retaliate. He raised his right hand, his index finger sticking out, and thrust it towards Jack's right arm from the side.

"clang"

Peter's finger strike was so powerful that Jack almost dropped the knife. The index finger that had poked the side of the knife remained completely unharmed, as if nothing had happened.

This surprised Peter, who took two steps back and exclaimed in astonishment, "You can actually keep up with my movements? Captain Jack is indeed quite skilled. I must say, many surprising things have happened to you."

Jack twirled the knife in his hand, curled his lip, and said, "Surprised? There's something even more surprising coming up, something that could even kill you."

As Jack spun his knife, he suddenly swung it at Peter from a distance.

Of course, our Jack isn't some kind of swordsman; he can't simply swing a knife and unleash a flying slash, or rather, a sword aura. It's just that when Jack swings his knife, it's still a knife when he raises his hand, but once it reaches the ground, it becomes the Punisher.

Using the motion of swinging his knife, Jack switched guns halfway through the fight, and without saying a word, he pulled the trigger.

Seeing the gun pointed at him again, and the unsettling red laser below it, Peter didn't make any further moves. His eyes sharpened, his body tensed, and he used Iron Block.

It wasn't that Peter didn't want to dodge and insisted on using the metal block to take the hit; rather, he only started to dodge after realizing he was being targeted, which meant that at the speed of the bullet, there was no way to dodge. His previous attempt to draw with paper, which resulted in him being hit, had already made Peter fully aware of this.

So what if we use the high-speed movement of "Shave" to evade it? Would that be enough to avoid it?

The answer is that if you use Shave before the gun is aimed at you, you can dodge it in time. But if you use Shave after the gun is already aimed at you and the trigger is pulled, it's a death sentence.

Some people who are not familiar with the "Six Styles" might ask, why is it a dead end? Even if you can't dodge it, you can use the "Iron Block" to block it in an emergency, just like before.

However, if it were really that simple, then the "Six Styles" would be too powerful. We could easily add the word "Loneliness" before it and rename it "The Lonely Six Styles," capable of breaking through all techniques in the world. Even after I finish practicing my Overlord Aura, I always go back and practice the "Six Styles."

The Six Styles has always had a major drawback: it cannot use multiple abilities simultaneously.

This is easy to understand. It's like comparing "paper drawing" and "iron block." Do you want to relax your body and nimbly dodge attacks, or tense your whole body to increase the hardness of your skin and flesh? These two are clearly contradictory.

But some people might say, "Hey, some actions don't conflict at all, they can be used at the same time. For example, 'shaving' and 'finger pistol' not only don't contradict each other, but they also go very well together."

Regarding this question, I would say that "shaving" is actually the least suitable one, and the weakest link in the entire "Six Styles," which can even be called a weakness and fatal flaw.

No one can use "shaving" and other actions at the same time. Note that it is other actions, not other "six forms".

Even Rob Lucci, a genius who had mastered the "Six Styles" to the extreme, couldn't do that. Every time he used "Shave," he would instantly dart to the enemy's side, stand still, and then begin his attack. Everyone in CP9 did the same.

Are they all idiots? Forget about using other "six techniques," they couldn't even think of adding a slash during the "shaving" process? With that speed, the power of that slash would be unimaginable.

It's not that I don't want to, it's that I can't, I simply can't do it. During the shaving process, I can't do anything else at all.

The above is only the first drawback of "shaving". In addition, there are two other shortcomings.

One drawback is that it takes time to start up.

It doesn't take much time, but in a duel between experts, it's suicidal.

The principle of shaving is to stomp on the ground more than ten times in a "single instant" to use the force of the square to make explosive movement.

So here's the problem: the key point is that this "instantaneous moment" isn't actually instantaneous; it takes time. So how much time does it take to initiate this "shave"?

It takes about 0.36 seconds.

Indeed, 0.36 seconds is very fast to the average person. But the Punisher in Jack's hands is much faster than 0.36 seconds.

The bullet travels at approximately 300 meters per second. At the distance between the two, it wouldn't even take 0.1 seconds to reach them. Adding the time it takes to pull the trigger, it would definitely not exceed 0.36 seconds. That's enough time to hit Peter before he could dash out.

The second drawback is that it can't be stopped. Once it starts, you have to wait until it darts out and comes to a stop before it ends. This is easy to understand.

You take 10 consecutive steps, but actually, you've already left the ground after the first step. The remaining nine steps are taken at an "ultra-low altitude" to accumulate kinetic energy. Even if you don't want to take any more steps and want to stop, after 0.36 seconds, that one step will still have force, causing you to jump forward unexpectedly. Exposing this vulnerability is practically suicidal.

Therefore, considering this major flaw and two shortcomings, if Peter chooses to dodge using only "shave," he will not only fail to dodge but will also be severely wounded by the Punisher's shot, regardless of whether it hits his lungs, kidneys, or anywhere else; it would be enough to cause him considerable suffering.

So, faced with Jack's move, Peter, who had already estimated the speed of the bullet, could only choose to use "Iron Block" to withstand it.

This is only possible because Peter is a seasoned veteran with extensive experience. If it were an ordinary young man making a wrong decision, that would be truly disastrous.

Chapter Fifty-Nine: The Battle of the Snake and the Bull

"boom"

"clang"

The two voices rang out almost simultaneously, one after the other.

"Tch, looks like his Iron Head Kung Fu is pretty tough." Jack muttered discontentedly, looking at the wound on Peter's forehead.

Jack aimed directly at Peter's forehead. If Peter hadn't decisively used the metal block, he would have been shot in the head. Unfortunately, Peter was completely focused this time, and the bullet only left a graze on his forehead before bouncing off.

After that first shot, Jack immediately tried to fire a second one. However, Jack hadn't yet reached the point where he could ignore the recoil, and the recoil momentarily stopped him, allowing Peter to quickly jump away from his original position.

Jack immediately prepared to continue aiming, but Peter wouldn't make the same mistake again. Before Jack could even aim, Peter vanished from Jack's sight with a single shave.

Jack now fully unleashed his Observation Haki, allowing him to clearly see Peter's path forward.

Jack understood that if he could fire a shot at Peter's face when he used Shave, it would all be over.

The problem is that even if Jack could see Peter's movements clearly, his body couldn't keep up, and he couldn't aim at the same time as he sensed them. And expecting Peter to charge straight at the gun barrel is also impossible.

Since Jack missed this time, he had no choice but to give up. He switched from gun to knife with his right hand and slashed at the right side of his body, where Peter would land.

Yes, even if I can't hit your body while it's moving at high speed, I can still tell where you'll land.

As explained before, "shaving" means stomping on the ground ten or more times in a short period of time, using the reaction force to achieve high-speed movement.

This high-speed movement is essentially a jump. From the moment it begins, the person is already in the air and cannot control themselves until they land.

"So, I saw where you were going to land long before you jumped." Although Peter blocked Jack's attack with his arm after he landed, Jack essentially used offense as defense to stop the attack.

"You can see where I landed? Either you have exceptionally advanced vision or you've awakened Observation Haki. So which one are you?" Peter wasn't annoyed at all, and asked casually while raising his hand.

"You can guess that yourself," Jack said with a smirk, then added in a cheeky voice, "But I advise you to watch out for my 'knife'."

"What?!" Peter thought to himself that something was wrong. He realized that he had stopped blocking a knife and instead blocked a strangely shaped pistol.

This time, Jack aimed directly at the most vulnerable part of the human body at close range, thinking, "I don't believe that your iron body is so tough that your eyelids are impervious to blades and spears."

Peter's reaction was also quite good; he reacted immediately when he saw the dark muzzle of the gun with his left eye.

Peter slightly raised his left arm, simultaneously using Iron Block, while his free right hand clenched into a fist, preparing to strike Jack. To be able to react and respond in such a short time truly shows he's an elite member of CP3.

Because Peter slightly raised his hand, Jack's shot didn't hit Peter's eye; it only struck the eye socket, knocking away a small piece of skin and flesh, revealing the white bone underneath.

On the other side, Peter, despite being shot, did not forget to continue his attack. With a powerful right hand, he delivered a heavy punch to Jack.

Faced with Peter's long-awaited, furious attack, Jack certainly didn't dare to take it head-on; if he did, he'd be half dead.

There was no other way but to obediently jump backward at high speed. Jack was also relieved that the Six Styles only included moves for high-speed movement and no way to increase attack speed, otherwise it would have been really difficult to dodge.

Peter felt the pain in his eye socket and calmly asked, "Being able to switch weapons back and forth is really hard to guard against. I wonder what kind of ability that is?"

"Want to know what abilities Captain Jack Sparrow has? Wait until you can beat me before you say that." Jack maintained his cheeky demeanor.

After that, the two exchanged blows for several more rounds, but neither side achieved anything significant.
