He needed to choose two servants for Anno, who was new to the area.

Anno frowned, wanting to refuse.

Merlin interrupted, "I know you may not be able to accept slavery, but since you're here, try to adapt first. Maybe one day you'll have the ability to change things?"

Anno remained silent.

Chapter Eleven: Morgan Filer Pendragon, the Future Enchantress

With Merlin's help, Anno bought a male servant and a female servant.

The next day, at the Camelot Royal Court.

King Uther's announcement of Anor becoming his knight-errant did not cause any great uproar, nor did any clowns jump out to cause trouble; the entire gathering ended simply and quietly.

Merlin has disappeared somewhere.

Anno found an open space in a park next to the royal court, hoping to calm down.

For the past year, he has been surrounded by bloodshed almost every day. Suddenly entering human society, he felt immense pressure. Sitting here is just to slightly relieve his anxious mood.

Just then, Anno keenly sensed a slight movement coming from not far away.

He instinctively sat up straight, gripped the hilt of his sword, and looked in the direction from which the commotion was coming.

Then, suddenly realizing that he was in the royal city of Camelot, he lowered his hand from the hilt of his sword and let out a heavy sigh.

I still can't get used to it.

Anno walked to the source of the noise and found a little girl, about eight or nine years old, squatting by a big tree with tears in her eyes.

Why would there be a child next to the royal court? Anno frowned.

Could he be the king's son?

Morgan Fairer felt terrified. She was just playing in the park when she saw this bearded man in white armor. He just glared at her, and it made her cry.

"Princess Morgan!" came an exclamation.

A maid rushed over, scooped the little girl into her arms, and moved away from Anuo, looking at him warily: "Who are you?"

Morgan felt the maid's embrace and couldn't hold back any longer, bursting into tears.

Anno scratched his head awkwardly. What was this? He had frightened the princess to tears on his second day in Camelot? He explained, "Well, I am the king's guard knight. I just wanted to relax here. Um, sorry."

The maid breathed a sigh of relief; at least he wasn't a suspicious person. After calming Morgan down, she said to Anno, "My apologies, Sir Knight."

Anno quickly waved her hand: "No, no, I've disturbed Your Highness. I should be the one saying it was rude."

To avoid further embarrassment, he quickly left after saying that.

Morganfeller peeked his face out from the maid's arms and glanced at Anno as he walked away.

This knight has a fierce aura.

On his second day at Camelot's court, Anno left a "fierce and terrifying" impression on the future enchantress Morgan.

Anno walked for a while and returned to his residence, where Ashley Collins, the maid he had purchased, had already prepared lunch.

The maid, whose appearance was passable, was only fourteen years old. She stood to one side with her hands in front of her, her body trembling slightly.

Anno glanced at her and sighed inwardly.

The evil slave society.

This maid is responsible for washing clothes, cooking, and cleaning for Anno. If Anno wants, she can even offer her body.

However, Anno, who grew up under the red flag, would not do that.

Another male servant, Luslan Hyde, was responsible for purchasing firewood and tending horses; he was also quite young, only 15 years old.

The two men are from France and Rome, respectively.

After finishing lunch, Anno decided to exercise for a while, one of the few ways to pass the time in this era.

After removing and carefully placing the armor given to her by the fairy of the lake, Anno began her daily exercise routine—push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.

Chapter Twelve: Vortigern, King Uther

Before setting off.

King Uther assembled an army of ten thousand men, intending to drive out the vile Saxons permanently in one fell swoop, and also to settle scores with his brother, the lowly King Vortigern.

Anno knew little about King Vortigern, or even nothing at all, having only learned some information from Merlin.

It was a terrifying being that could transform into a white dragon, known as Britain itself; to be his enemy was to be Britain's enemy.

King Uther, the younger brother of the King of Britain, dismissed these remarks with disdain, calling him nothing more than a rat who had failed in his bid for the throne and whose brains were filled with nothing but muscle.

Anno followed behind King Uther, standing alongside several other guard knights, protecting King Uther in front.

Britain reveres military might, and as king, Uther was expected to lead from the front.

Looking at the well-ordered army, Anno felt a surge of pride.

However, behind his boldness lay a trace of resistance and confusion. Although his hands were stained with blood in the previous year, it was almost all the blood of orcs and goblins. Now that he was standing in this army, it meant that he was about to raise his sword against his own kind.

Youse delivered a motivational speech that Anno considered utterly pointless, but it drew a loud response from the army, boosting their morale.

King Euthyder and his knights mounted their horses and led their army away at full speed.

A city in the north.

A castle.

A gaunt man sat in the castle.

He rested his face in his hands, his eyes closed, seemingly asleep but not quite.

He was showing signs of aging, but his aura remained strong.

Having stolen the will of Britain, existing neither as Britain itself nor as a target of the Saxons' covetousness, and attempting to overthrow the orthodox, Vortigern, the dragon, is no longer human, a vile and despicable ruler.

That's the kind of person he is.

A Saxon man trembled as he entered the castle and reported to Vortigern: "Your Majesty, the knights have departed from Camelot."

Vortigern's eyes snapped open, startling the Saxon soldier so much that he fell to the ground.

Vortigern ignored him, stood up, walked to the window, and gazed at Camelot with a chilling smile.

“Here he comes, my brother, Yuther…” Vortigern’s eyes flashed with madness.

As Anno rode his horse on the march, he suddenly felt a chill down his spine and his right eyelid twitched involuntarily.

This feeling is...

Suddenly I feel like this war won't be so simple...

Merlin noticed Anno's odd behavior, but just smiled and didn't take it to heart.

In the future he foresaw, King Uther, who used almost all of his power and mystery, only managed to fight the King of the Lowly to a draw. What qualifications did Anor, whose only connection to mystery was the armor on his body, have to participate in this battle between mystery and mystery?

However, nothing is certain yet, is it?

Merlin simply likes humanity as a whole; he doesn't care about individual humans. Of course, if there's a beautiful young woman, Merlin is happy to chat with her.

Merlin cares about only one human being, regardless of the timeline: King Arthur—Artoria Pendragon.

Only that king is worthy of this flower magician's attention.

Chapter Thirteen: The Next King

After marching for several days, King Euthyder and his army arrived in northern Britain, in a region already occupied by the Saxons, and thus began the war.

Slashing at one's own kind is simpler than Anno imagined. With a simple slit in the throat with his longsword, Saxons and goblin orcs are no different. The only trouble is that Anno also needs to cut off the left ear of the enemy he killed as his achievement (there is no historical basis for this, just consider it a secondary setting).

King Uther's knightly army was formidable, having recaptured three cities in less than a week. However, Anno, a powerful warrior respected by his men, grew increasingly uneasy.

The instigator of this war has not yet appeared.

Anno's face was terribly gloomy, and the same expression was shared by the king to whom Anno served—Yuse.

He knew better than anyone how terrifying his elder brother was; he was definitely not someone that knights could handle, not even Lord Anno.

Perhaps only I, as the King of Britain, am qualified to draw my sword against him.

Yuther's heart sank.

But the other knights were completely unaware of this; they laughed as they slaughtered the Saxons who had invaded their country, gleefully cutting off the ears of their enemies.

Finally, the unstoppable British army wiped out almost all the Saxons, leaving only one city.

On the night before the siege, King Uther summoned Merlin, Anor, and a knight named Hector.

Merlin is a court magician and one of King Uther's most trusted confidants. Anor is a rising star in the army, whose powerful martial arts have earned him a high reputation in the army. He is also an acquaintance of Merlin. As for Knight Hector, he is a veteran knight whose strength should not be underestimated. He is also one of King Uther's most trusted confidants.

Anno's unease had reached its peak when he arrived in this city.

Inside King Euthyr's tent, the four men had different expressions.

King Uther wore a sorrowful expression, Merlin remained calm and smiled, Knight Hector looked puzzled, and Anno had a furrowed brow.

The atmosphere was very somber.

Finally, King Uther spoke first: "Merlin, after this battle, I may either die directly, or my life will not last long."

Merlin didn't respond, but the knight Hector, who was about forty years old, became anxious: "Your Majesty, why do you say that?" In his view, the war to expel the Saxons should have been quite successful, so why would the king say such discouraging things?

Merlin sighed: "My king, is there anything I can do for you?"

Uther stood up and paced back and forth with a hint of impatience: “My daughter, Morgan Filer is too jealous to be king.”

Upon hearing this, a glint flashed in Anno's eyes.

"I hope Merlin, you can help me create a king who is born superior to others, a king who carries my bloodline!" King Uther's eyes were bloodshot. He did not expect to be able to kill Vortigern himself, but for the sake of Britain, he had to find a way to kill Vortigern.

His solution was to sacrifice his own life to buy time for Britain, allowing him to cultivate a king capable of fighting the monster during that period.

“That monster can only be killed by the King of Britain. I am too incompetent and can only place my hopes on the next generation,” King Uther said to himself. “When the next king is born, I will have him grow up in your house, Hector.”
