Caleb frowned. "I heard my grandfather say when I was a child that Spot had also fought for that map... but he shouldn't know that the map ended up in my grandfather's hands..."
“Perhaps we didn’t know before, but we do now,” Scott said. “Copies of the Reiss map are all over the world, and Spock must know some of the map’s secrets.”
Caleb nodded in agreement. "It seems there might be someone behind Spot."
He glanced at the phone in his hand. "Haimee is still entertaining that man. I think we still have a chance to get more information."
We can only wait.
Scott thought.
Just then, a crow flew into the room through the window.
Gaa...gaa gaa, gaa...gaa gaa.
It called out rhythmically a few times before finally stopping on the windowsill.
Scott suddenly stood up.
The repeated long and two short cries indicated that a wizard had approached the manor.
"A wizard is approaching."
He spoke quickly to Caleb and strode to the window.
While Caleb was giving orders to his bodyguards to be on guard over the walkie-talkie, Scott took out the [severed arm bone] from the shapeshifting lizard's pocket and activated it, then took out a wooden carving of a listening bat and "awakened" it using shapeshifting.
The black bat took flight.
“Go, take the bats and hide near the intruder.”
The crow nodded wisely and flew out the window, with the eavesdropping bat following closely behind.
Scott then strode out of the villa's gate and walked toward the edge of the estate.
He was just glad that it was getting dark and Ramiro hadn't taken the children out to play.
The eavesdropping bats were quickly in position, and Scott heard the sounds of another bat's location.
The footsteps sounded like there was only one person.
After listening for a while longer, Scott could basically conclude that the uninvited wizard seemed to be setting up a Muggle exorcism spell around the manor.
Judging from the other person's seemingly relaxed tone, Scott thought that the other person probably didn't know that there was a wizard in this manor.
This intruder was acting with an arrogant attitude that disregarded all Muggles, seemingly believing that he could easily deal with everyone in the manor once he showed up.
Scott waited a while longer and finally confirmed that, apart from himself, the only other wizard nearby was the intruder.
Upon learning this, Scott quickened his pace and headed towards the area where the other party was located.
As he moved forward, he simultaneously cast a silencing spell and an illusion spell on himself.
Chapter 253 Subduing the Uninvited Wizard
Scott left the manor without making a sound.
Following the guidance of the crows that occasionally flew by in the sky, he saw the wizard at the bend in the only road leading into the manor.
He was a short, fat man with a stubble beard, wearing a tattered coat.
His short, bowed legs, long, messy ginger-yellow hair, and swollen, bloodshot eyes made him look like a short-legged hunting dog.
The uninvited wizard had already cast a powerful Muggle-repelling spell on the way into the manor.
He sat in the roadside bushes like a beggar, with no immediate intention of directly attacking the manor.
From the way he kept glancing up at the sky, Scott knew that he was probably waiting for it to get dark.
Regardless of what he was waiting for, Scott had decided to strike first.
He deliberately moved stealthily in a circle before suddenly attacking from behind the wizard.
He collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
The dazzling red light instantly struck the short, stout wizard.
The wizard swayed, but did not faint.
A white light suddenly burst from his body, and he turned around, pointing his wand in the direction Scott was.
Scott immediately realized that the other party possessed a magical item that could resist spells, and the stun spell had not taken effect.
Scott's magical perception was already activated, and he calmly moved his feet to dodge one of the opponent's spells.
"I didn't expect there to be a wizard here?" the short, stout man chuckled. "Did he use a Disillusionment Charm?"
Scott moved behind a large tree by the roadside, and a bat flew down from the tree and silently clung to his shoulder.
At this moment, the short, stout male wizard was cautiously moving his feet slowly, his eyes darting around.
Scott calmly waved his wand at the tree and whispered a spell.
The light from the Transfiguration Charm connected his wand to the tree, but due to the angle, it was not seen by the short, stout wizard.
The tree remained unchanged, except that a few thick branches silently and slowly drooped towards the wizard.
Just then, the wizard suddenly pressed his wand against his temple, "Super Sensation..."
Scott, of course, did not allow the other party to successfully complete the Sense8 spell. Instead, he manipulated the slowly drooping tree branch to accelerate instantly.
The thick tree branches, like enraged pythons, quickly bound and hoisted the short, stout wizard's entire body.
"Smoke-filled."
Scott cast a smokescreen spell, and white smoke quickly filled the air, completely obscuring their vision.
He heard the wizard's somewhat panicked voice, "Wait...wait!"
But Scott showed no intention of responding. Guided by his magical perception, he decisively waved his wand again.
"He collapsed to the ground, completely unconscious!"
A beam of red light pierced through the smoke and struck the short, stout male wizard who was bound by tree branches.
The wizard fell silent, seemingly having fallen into a deep coma.
But Scott sensed that the magical items on the other person had been activated again.
The wizard, who looked like a short-legged hound, was clearly a cunning fellow, pretending to be unconscious to lure Scott forward.
Although the other person's hands and feet were already bound by branches, Scott did not let his guard down.
He couldn't be sure if the other side had any other means to turn the tide.
The instant he sensed the magical artifacts on the wizard's body going dormant, Scott made his move again.
"Except your weapons!"
The red light of the disarming spell pierced through the smoke, and Scott raised his hand to catch the wizard's wand.
He then quickly moved a few steps to the side.
Sure enough, another magical item on the other party was activated, and a black beam struck the ground where Scott had been standing.
Scott heard a hissing sound as the ground corroded.
He collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
Scott decisively took action again.
The Stunning Spell struck the wizard again. This time, Scott did not sense the activation of the magical item, and the magical fluctuations on the wizard's body gradually subsided.
Scott still did not act rashly.
He stepped back from the edge of the smoke-shrouded area and pointed his wand at a clump of bushes by the roadside.
The shrub, about half a person's height, twisted its branches and leaves, its roots rising from the ground, and the whole plant quickly transformed into a rough human shape.
Under Scott's control, the humanoid bush stepped into the smoke and walked step by step to the short, fat wizard who was hanging upside down.
With a series of soft, hissing sounds, Scott sensed that a group of small magical creatures had suddenly emerged from the short, stout wizard's robes and were pouncing fiercely on the humanoid bush.
Soon, the sound of teeth gnawing at the trees could be heard.
Scott pointed his wand at the sky and waved it. Immediately, a flock of crows flew out from the woods on both sides of the road and disappeared into the smoke.
Then, piercing screams rose and fell, and crows would occasionally fly out of the smoke carrying small animals in their beaks.
Scott then realized that what emerged from the short, fat wizard's dirty robes were actually a group of vixens.
Although these magical creatures are small in size, they all have sharp and venomous teeth. If a wizard is attacked by them unexpectedly, it can cause considerable harm.
But these vixens were clearly no match for the crows, and were quickly devoured by them.
"I give up... I surrender!"
The voice of the short, stout wizard surrendering and begging for mercy came from the smoke.
Scott raised an eyebrow but didn't respond; he wasn't going to give this cunning fellow any chance.
"He collapsed to the ground, completely unconscious!"
"He collapsed to the ground, completely unconscious!"
With two Stunning Curses, Scott had already employed the technique of combined spellcasting.
Two identical red beams flew out from the tip of the wand one after the other, but they intertwined halfway through, forming a thicker red beam that struck the short, fat wizard directly on the head.
The pleas for mercy abruptly stopped.
Scott sensed for a moment longer, then finally smiled.
He waved his wand, causing the humanoid shrub to return to its original position, take root again, and revert to its original form.
Then, he used the Severing Charm to cut the branches binding the wizard from the tree, and then used the Levitation Charm to make the unconscious wizard float up, carrying him into the nearby forest.
"Scott!"
Just then, Caleb emerged from the manor with several armed bodyguards and shouted from the edge of the smoke.
"Uncle, I'm fine, I'll be back soon!" Scott shouted back, using a levitation spell to carry the prisoner deeper into the forest.
He walked all the way to the mountainside and finally found a place he was satisfied with.
Scott placed the unconscious, stout wizard on a protruding rock, glanced at the steep mountain below, and then moved the wizard to the edge of the rock.
