"Something's happened on the third floor!" Scott heard a student shout from upstairs.

Eddie's eyes suddenly lit up.

"what happened!"

He turned around quickly and, with agility completely out of character for his slightly overweight physique, squeezed into the crowd on the stairs and made his way up to the next floor.

Scott and Milton exchanged a glance and followed the curious students up to the second floor.

Just then, they heard a boy shout: "Beware, you who oppose the heir! You're next, Mudblood!"

Scott could recognize it as Malfoy's voice.

Immediately afterwards, Filch's heart-wrenching screams came from above.

“My cat! My cat! What’s wrong with Mrs. Lorice?” he screamed in terror.

At this moment, the professors, having clearly noticed the commotion, rushed over under Dumbledore's leadership.

The students consciously made way for the professors to go up the stairs first.

Scott finally climbed to the third floor, where he saw Filch glaring at the helpless Porter with wide eyes by the wall where the crowd had gathered.

He glared at Potter and yelled, "You! You killed my cat! You killed it! I'm going to kill you! I'm going to..."

"Filch!"

Dumbledore, who was walking ahead, interrupted him.

He quickly walked over and took a stiff-bodied cat from the lamp stand on the wall.

Milton, standing next to Scott, exclaimed, "Is that Mrs. Lorris?"

“It looks like it,” Scott said calmly. “Look at the wall.”

Milton then saw the two lines of text on the wall.

[The secret chamber has been opened. Beware of those who oppose the heir.]

"Oh!" He covered his mouth and stared wide-eyed.

“Come with me, Filch,” Dumbledore said to Filch.

He then looked at the “savior” and his friends, “and you, Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley, Miss Granger.”

Lockhart stepped forward with unusual enthusiasm and offered, "My office is the closest to here, Principal! It's upstairs...you can..."

“Thank you, Gilderoy,” Dumbledore said to him.

Then, Dumbledore, carrying the lifeless cat, followed Lockhart to his office.

The Porter trio and Filch walked behind them, followed by the other professors.

After they disappeared, the students in the corridor immediately started discussing it amongst themselves.

"Did you see that?!"

Eddie suddenly appeared out of nowhere, his face beaming with excitement as he spoke to Scott and Milton.

“Potter and his friends, those three were incredibly audacious! They killed Filch’s cat and left those cryptic messages on the wall!” He gestured wildly. “Too bad they got caught red-handed by Filch!”

Milton looked at him skeptically. "Is it true, Eddie? Potter and the others seem unaware of it to me."

“You don’t understand, Milton,” Eddie said smugly. “They’re just trying to escape punishment through this disguise!”

He shook his head and sighed with a hint of pity, "But how could that be? No one can lie to Dumbledore."

The students around Eddie all showed expressions of agreement when they heard his argument.

Moreover, Filch's pesky cat finally got its comeuppance, much to the schadenfreude of most of the students.

Chapter 052 The Rumors of the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin

Perhaps because he couldn't stand Eddie showing off, Malfoy sneered loudly, "What do you know!"

He looked at Eddie with disdain.

“You guys know nothing.”

He held his head high with a smug look, revealing a sharp jawline.

A girl with a face like a poodle was pretending to flatter Malfoy, "Oh! Draco! If you know anything inside information, please tell everyone!"

“Of course I know, Pansy,” Malfoy said, even more smugly.

He swept his gaze maliciously over the others around him, especially Eddie, who had been talking so boastfully.

"The heir to Slytherin has appeared! He has opened the legendary Chamber of Secrets!" he announced with the air of someone announcing momentous news. "All Mudbloods will..."

"Gah!"

A black raven flew over everyone's heads, like a black shadow, and landed in front of Malfoy.

"Gah!"

The raven cawed again and flapped its wings forcefully against Malfoy's beak.

"what!"

Malfoy let out a scream and waved his arms frantically, trying to swat the raven away.

While cawing loudly, the raven nimbly dodged Malfoy's attacks, pecking at his face several times with its beak.

Malfoy quickly lowered his head and covered his face with his hands.

"Get away!"

His female companion, Pansy Parkinson, waved her wand in vain.

At that moment, Malfoy's two burly henchmen rushed over.

They took off their robes to cover the raven, but the clever bird took flight again and quickly disappeared at the end of the corridor.

"Don't let me find out whose pet that damn bird is!" Malfoy screamed, covering his face. "I'm going to tell my dad!"

From the crowd came Fred's sarcastic voice, "Oh! I bet old Malfoy is very proud that his precious son dared to duel a ferocious raven!"

George immediately chimed in, "After a fierce battle, he finally drove away that animal that was even more dangerous than a dragon!"

The students watching burst into laughter.

Scott gave Milton and Eddie a look, and the three of them quietly slipped away from the crowd.

Eddie looked at Scott excitedly, "Oh! Scott! You're amazing! That's you..."

Scott shook his head, signaling Eddie not to bring up the topic.

He told the two of them, "I have something to discuss with the Weasley twins. You two go back first."

After saying that, he walked to the other side of the crowd and patted Fred on the shoulder.

Fred turned his head, saw Scott, and immediately winked mischievously, "Hey!"

“Is there something you need, Scott?” George turned around as well. “Can’t you see we’re praising Lord Malfoy’s impressive record?”

"Come with me."

Scott said something to them, then turned and left.

The three arrived at an empty classroom, and Scott casually closed the classroom door.

Fred grinned and put his hand on Scott's shoulder. "All I can say is, well done, Scott!"

He added regretfully, "It's a pity we couldn't capture the exciting scene of Malfoy's duel with a raven with our cameras!"

George also felt regretful, "You're right, I think we could have sold the photos to The Daily Prophet, which would have given them a great story and made us some money in the process."

Scott shook his head with a smile. "Don't worry about that coward Malfoy. George, Fred, I have something to tell you."

"What's up?" George asked curiously. "Are you planning to officially rejoin our adventure team this Halloween eve, Scott?"

“Although it’s a bit late, we’ll welcome you,” Fred said, feigning reluctance.

“It’s not that,” Scott said, somewhat amused. “It’s what happened just now; it’s a bit unusual.”

"You mean... Filch's cat?"

"And the words left on the wall?"

The twins immediately understood.

Scott nodded. "I noticed that neither the petrified cat nor the words on the wall are simple magic."

He said seriously, "I suspect that what Malfoy said might be the truth."

"The truth? Wasn't the cat dead?" Fred thought for a moment. "The Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin, and the heir to Slytherin?"

"That cat didn't die? But how come it's all related to that old monkey from Slytherin?" George said to Fred. "We seem to have heard rumors about the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin?"

"Did Grandfather tell us this when he was still alive?" Fred asked uncertainly.

Scott said, "The cat did not die. As for the Chamber of Secrets, I recall an ambiguous account of it in the book 'Hogwarts (A History of the School)'."

George shook his head. "Oh, you know, we don't usually read books like this."

“There is indeed another widely circulated rumor,” Scott said. “Of course, I heard it from Eddie.”

Eddie was always eager to find out everything, and he did indeed spread many such rumors, true or false, in the dorm.

"What is it?" Fred asked curiously.

Scott said, "Legend has it that Salazar Slytherin was always strongly opposed to Hogwarts admitting Muggle-born wizards. Ultimately, he parted ways with the other three co-founders of Hogwarts due to their differing ideologies. It is rumored that he left behind a secret chamber at Hogwarts when he left."

"Could the Chamber of Secrets be the treasure left behind by that old monkey Slytherin?" Fred wondered with great interest.

"No, the things in the secret chamber in the rumors are not treasures."

Scott said in a deep voice.

"People used to believe that Slytherin sealed the Chamber of Secrets until his true successor came to the school. The successor would release the horrors within the Chamber, allowing them to purify the school and eliminate all those unworthy to learn magic, in accordance with Slytherin's will."

"So, they're purging Muggle-born students?" Fred thought for a moment, finding the rumor unbelievable. "But Slytherin were wizards a thousand years ago. What could possibly live that long?"

George guessed, "Perhaps it's some kind of powerful black magic?"
