The Wind and the Wings of Hogwarts

Professor Flitwick first emphasized the importance of the exam before getting to the main point.
"Your exams will last for two weeks. The mornings will be written exams on theory, and the afternoons will be practical exams. Of course, the practical exams for astronomy will be held late at night."
"Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the written exam will be held in the auditorium, and your exam will be scheduled at a different time than the seventh grade exam."
"The practical exam venues for each subject will be posted on the bulletin board at the entrance of the auditorium. Please check it yourself."
"I must remind you that the examiners are sent by the Wizard Examinations Administration of the Department of Education of the Ministry of Magic. They are all exceptionally experienced wizards."
At this point, Professor Flitwick specifically mentioned another name: Gershard Machiban.
"Ms. Marchban is probably the most senior employee of the Ministry of Magic."
"She served as Dumbledore's examiner in the NEWT exams in 1899, and continued to serve as the director of the Wizarding Examinations Authority after the Second Wizarding War."
"In other words, Ms. Marchban has worked for more than 100 years."
"No matter what tricks the candidates prepare, they will never escape her eyes."
Professor Flitwick's "revelation" caused an uproar.
"This is incredible! Dumbledore's examiner is still an examiner," Roger muttered to Scott.
"She must be much older than Dumbledore, yet she can still work!"
"Didn't you hear what Professor Flitwick said? No matter how small the movement is, it won't escape her eyes. She must be in good spirits and have very sharp eyes."
The students started discussing it, all of them very interested in this examiner who had been in charge of proctoring exams for over 100 years.
Professor Flitwick waited for everyone to discuss for a while before continuing to speak.
"In addition, the written test papers were subjected to the strictest anti-cheating measures."
"It is strictly forbidden to bring automatic answer pens into the examination hall. In addition, memory balls, detachable clip-on cuffs and automatic error correction ink are also prohibited."
After the students had finished processing what he had said, Professor Flitwick smiled kindly.
"Of course, I believe the children of Ravenclaw will not cheat in this important exam."
"I just want to remind everyone to pay attention to exam discipline and not to cause any losses due to a lack of understanding of the regulations."
"Finally," he clapped his hands, "the exam results will be released in mid-July, delivered by owls. Hopefully, everyone will get satisfactory results by then."
Scott and his team clapped along with each other and offered a few words of encouragement.
Monday morning, June 4th.
After breakfast, all the students were asked to leave the Great Hall, and several staff members from the Wizarding Examinations Authority, accompanied by Vice Principal Professor McGonagall, went in.
Scott and his companions, who were waiting outside the auditorium, finally met the legendary examiner, Gersdale Marchban.
She did look very old, with white hair and a shaky gait, but she was very energetic.
Everyone respected her, including Professor McGonagall.
Not long after the group entered the auditorium, Professor McGonagall walked out of the auditorium again.
"The spells exam is about to begin," she said to the fifth-grade students waiting outside. "Everyone, line up for the test and enter in an orderly fashion!"
Scott and his classmates obediently lined up together.
When it was his turn to enter, he saw a staff member from the Wizard Examination Authority standing inside.
He waved his wand at Scott and said, "Go inside."
The auditorium had changed dramatically by then.
They removed all the decorations from the auditorium, moved the four college tables away, and replaced them with many small single tables.
All of these tables face the faculty tables at the far end of the auditorium.
Besides spare quills, ink bottles, and rolls of parchment, the examiner's table also had a huge hourglass, which seemed to be used to time the exam.
The white-haired Machiban, as the examiner, was already seated in the center of the faculty table.
A young proctor was loudly announcing to everyone, "All students, find your seats and take your places! We've put your names on your desks!"
Scott wandered around the auditorium, found a seat with his name on it, and put down the quill and ink he had brought.
He discovered that the students' seats had been rearranged, and none of the students around him were Ravenclaw students.
But it's not that I don't know anyone there.
Cedric was sitting in front of him.
“This is a little different from what my dad told me.” Cedric turned around and whispered, “When they took exams before, they didn’t have assigned seats. Everyone could sit wherever they wanted, and there weren’t as many proctors.”
Scott said, "Perhaps the Wizarding Examinations Authority has reformed all the exams; last year's end-of-year exams already included a duel."
Cedric wanted to say something, but when the proctor looked over, he quickly turned his head and sat down obediently.
Scott also sat up straighter.
But he wasn't guilty at all; instead, he smiled slightly at the proctor who was looking at him.
The other person returned a polite smile and looked away.
Soon, all the fifth-grade students taking the exam found their seats in the auditorium.
"I hope you will all abide by the rules and achieve good results!"
Professor McGonagall stood at the door, gave a word of advice, and then turned and left the auditorium.
"Is everyone here?" Ms. Machiban asked.
“Yes, ma’am,” the young proctor said. “The exam may begin.”
"Let's begin then."
Ms. Machiban waved her wand.
The tall stack of parchment on the faculty desk suddenly flew up.
The parchment paper appeared to be flying everywhere, but it actually landed precisely on each student's desk.
Once everyone had received their exam papers, Ms. Machiban tapped the giant hourglass on the table with her wand.
"The exam has officially begun."
The hourglass reverses, the sand pours out, and the timer begins.
Scott looked away, not rushing to write, but first glancing at the exam paper in his hand.
After going through the questions on the test paper, he felt confident.
The written test was not difficult.
Although these topics cover all the knowledge learned during the five years from first to fifth grade, they are not in-depth or offer much expansion.
Scott picked up his quill, dipped it in ink, and began to give his formal answer.
When he finished writing the entire test paper in one go, he looked up at the hourglass on the teacher's desk again and found that there was still a small amount of sand flowing in the upper part of the hourglass.
He put down his quill, checked the exam paper, and then began to stare blankly.
Scott's dazed state seemed to last forever, but when Ms. Marchban announced the end of the exam, many students in the auditorium still let out groans of despair.
"The exam paper is flying in!"
Ms. Machiban ignored the students' cries and simply waved her wand.
All the exam papers on everyone's desks flew back to the desk in front of her, forming a tall stack once again.
"The spell study written test is over."
As soon as Ms. Marchbane spoke, the hall erupted in noise.
"How did the exam go?" Cedric asked Scott, turning around.
“It should be fine,” Scott said with a smile.
Cedric wanted to discuss the answers with Scott, but the proctors had already begun asking them to leave as soon as possible to make room for the seventh-grade students.
Scott and Roger met up first, and instead of talking about the exam they had just taken, they started talking about lunch.
Until Milton walked over looking nervous.
"How did you do on the exam?" he asked anxiously.
Neither Scott nor Roger answered his question.
“Alright, let’s not think about the exams that are over.” Scott patted Milton on the shoulder. “Come on, let’s guess what’s for lunch today.”
Milton's personality meant that too much discussion would actually negatively impact his practical exam that afternoon.
Next, he rejected Milton's suggestion to "go read some more books" and proposed that the three of them go for a walk by the Black Lake.
"The most important thing right now is to relax," Roger advised him.
Seeing that both of them said so, Milton agreed somewhat uneasily.
As they walked out of the castle, the Weasley twins caught up with them from behind.
Fred gave Scott a gloating smile. "Oh, my dear friend, I heard you've angered our 'Little McGonagall'."
“You should be thankful,” George blinked. “Luckily, it’s exam season right now, otherwise you would have witnessed how terrifying ‘Little McGonagall’ is.”
Fred added, "You can tell just by looking at our little brother Ron's increasingly miserable face."
“Your information is a bit outdated,” Scott said, not wanting to discuss the topic. “Is your promotional video completely finished?”
He had already taken the time to do the editing and post-production for them, and then left some simple processing work to them.
"It's completely finished!"
"Just wait and see how we amaze the entire Hogwarts!"
The two seemed very confident.
If Scott hadn't been involved in the production, he probably would have believed it.
"I'm really looking forward to it," he said earnestly.
He eagerly anticipated the predictable shame and embarrassment that would ensue when the rest of Gryffindor saw the promotional video.
The group chatted and laughed as they strolled around the Black Lake.
After that, with Fred and George constantly causing trouble, Milton began to show a relaxed smile.
