Chapter 433 William Regrets, Magic Phone
Around noon, Scott arrived at the address William had written and landed on the roof of a department store in West Brompton, London.
The rooftop was deserted, and Scott instantly transformed into human form.
He walked to the edge of the roof and looked down.
William's family lives in a neighborhood near this building, separated only by a small park. He can now clearly see several rows of residential buildings in that neighborhood.
"Why not just go over there?" Rimbaud asked.
"To be on the safe side, let's investigate further before making a decision."
Scott smiled, activated [Severed Arm Bone], and took out his wand and mirror.
Looking in the mirror, he transformed himself once again into that blond-haired, bronze-skinned boy.
He gave Rimbaud a few instructions, then turned and walked to the locked door on the top floor.
"Araho Cave is open."
Using a lock-picking charm to open the door, Scott, dressed in Muggle attire, blended seamlessly into the crowd of shoppers.
After circling around the top floor, Scott found the elevator, went straight down to the first floor, and walked out of the mall.
On the street, listening to the sounds of cars passing by, watching the pedestrians coming and going, and feeling the hustle and bustle of the city, Scott, who had been living alone in the forest for more than ten days, had a long-lost feeling.
In an instant, he had a sudden realization.
Although many wizards enjoy a solitary life, that may not be a good thing.
Many wizards may become eccentric and crazy because of this.
As a Muggle-born wizard, Scott doesn't feel uncomfortable around people; on the contrary, it makes him feel more relaxed.
Standing at the intersection, Scott looked up and smiled easily. After seeing the streetlights change, he walked across the pedestrian crossing with the crowd.
As he walked into the small park by the street, he saw Rimbaud perched on a tree.
Scott waved to Rimbaud, ignoring the stares of others, and strode across the park with cheerful steps, approaching the residential community on the other side of the park.
"Excuse me, ma'am, may I ask..."
He walked up to an elderly woman with a full head of silver hair and spoke politely.
"Do the Browns live in this neighborhood? Oh, I'm William Brown's classmate."
The woman slowly raised her head, adjusted her glasses, and looked at him with a scrutinizing gaze.
Scott immediately gave her a smile.
He observed himself in the mirror and noticed that, unlike his original cold features, his disguised face now had an exceptionally sunny and approachable smile.
Perhaps influenced by his smile, the woman's expression softened.
“This is it. Little William’s family lives at number 26.” She answered Scott’s question truthfully.
"That's wonderful! Thank you, ma'am!"
Scott quickly and politely thanked him.
After saying goodbye to the woman, he asked several other people in the vicinity and received affirmative answers from all of them.
He then realized that the address William had given him was genuine.
Even after confirming this, he did not rush to the door, but instead turned back into the park and sat on a bench by the woods.
Rimbaud, understanding the situation, flew down from the tree and landed on the back of the bench.
Scott pulled out a prepared note and handed it to Rimbaud, “Go to the Brown family’s house at number 26.”
Rimbaud nodded, grabbed the note, and flew away.
Scott appeared relaxed as he sat on a bench under the shade of a tree, his magical perception subtly unfolding as he awaited William's arrival.
Ten minutes later, William, covered in sweat, hurriedly ran into the park.
Of course, he didn't recognize Scott, who was in disguise, and could only pace back and forth, looking around anxiously.
Scott waved to him when he looked over again.
William looked at him with some hesitation.
Scott waved again.
With a wary expression, William walked step by step toward Scott.
He wiped the sweat from his brow and looked Scott up and down with unfamiliar eyes. "Who are you?"
“It’s me,” Scott said.
William's eyes widened. "You..."
"Shhh."
Scott put a finger to his lips to stop himself from saying what was about to come out.
William's expression shifted as he carefully examined Scott's face.
"He is not a born shapeshifter, yet he can use the art of human transformation so skillfully."
He sighed.
"As expected of you."
"Thank you for the compliment," Scott said with a smile. "Did you ask me to meet you because you wanted to talk to me about something?"
William gave a bitter smile.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I think I should apologize to you sincerely.”
Scott raised an eyebrow. "Ah, that thing?"
William nodded.
"I won't give any excuses or reasons; I'm sorry for what I did to you."
His gaze and tone were very sincere; at the very least, Scott couldn't see or hear any flaws in his words.
Even in Scott's perception, William's magical state only fluctuated normally, and there was nothing unusual about it.
Scott's smile didn't fade. He waved his hand and said in a relaxed tone, "I'm glad to receive your apology. I forgive you."
"Thank you." William wiped the sweat from his forehead again.
Scott stretched out his arms and rested them on the back of the chair, looking up at William standing in front of him.
Compared to when he graduated more than a year ago, William looks more mature and has lost a lot of weight.
He also looked unwell, with sunken eyes and a haggard expression.
Having accepted the apology, Scott asked directly, "William, I think... your purpose in contacting me wasn't just this, was it?"
"of course."
William gave another wry smile.
Then, his gaze toward Scott gradually hardened.
“I want to leave the UMNO,” he said earnestly.
Scott looked at him with some surprise.
To leave the UMNO?
Although it's a good thing, what does this have to do with him?
William clearly understood Scott's look, and his expression turned somewhat awkward.
But Scott hadn't come to embarrass him, so he asked curiously, "Why do you want to leave?"
William hesitated for a moment, but under Scott's gaze, he finally revealed the reason.
“It was too brutal.” William closed his eyes. “You may have heard about the battle in Azkaban a while ago.”
His face turned deathly pale, seemingly recalling the horrific scene.
“Many people have died,” he said painfully. “I watched them die and be called back, only to inevitably turn to ashes in the end. I am still alive only because of luck.”
Scott also recalled those who had been turned into ceramic figurines by Medea and then died again due to Voldemort's curse.
He still vividly remembers that scene.
Yes, it is indeed very cruel.
William gritted his teeth. "More importantly, I can see that Ms. Slytherin's actions do not match the bright future she describes."
“You should have realized this a long time ago, William,” Scott said calmly.
Medea was a cruel person to begin with.
“Professor Lockhart and another wizard died because of her appearance,” he reminded William.
“But I couldn’t resist the temptation of increased power and status.” William gave another bitter smile. “Scott, you’re a truly intelligent man. Despite that lady’s repeated expressions of admiration for you, you remained unmoved.”
“Maybe it’s just because I prefer freedom,” Scott replied lazily.
“My eyes were blinded by my own greed, and I could only see the beautiful vision.” William continued to recount his mental journey, “It was not until after the battle with the mysterious man that I finally woke up.”
Scott smiled and said frankly, "I'm a little surprised, William. I mean, I thought Medea's brainwashing methods would be more sophisticated."
William said, "Perhaps because my status and strength are not high, and I am just a marginal figure, I have not had much contact with that lady, and thus I have retained some rationality."
Scott nodded noncommittally.
William gritted his teeth and said directly, "I need your help, Scott, but not for free, of course."
“How can I help you, William?” Scott asked in surprise.
He asked sincerely because he genuinely couldn't think of anything he could do to help the other person.
"If you want to break away from the UMNO and get rid of the trouble that follows, now is the best time."
He tried to give William some advice.
"Medea isn't in a good state right now, is she? As long as you take your family and run far away, to Asia, America, Africa, or Australia, anywhere, I don't think anyone will cross the ocean to cause you trouble."
