William shook his head.

“I know, but things aren’t as simple as you make them out to be. I’ve said I’d leave the Confederate States of America, but that’s just talk; I can’t actually do it right now,” he said, frustrated.

Scott asked curiously, "How so?"

William did not answer, but instead extended his left hand to him, pulled off the wristband on his wrist, revealing an intricate tattoo design.

It was a half-body doll with a blank face and no facial features. The lines that made up the pattern were so delicate that they had an eerie beauty.

“This…” Scott leaned closer and examined it carefully. “Is it the same thing as the Dark Mark Voldemort gave to the Death Eaters?”

He used his magical senses to carefully investigate and discovered that it was different from the Dark Mark.

He could sense magic that wasn't his own from Snape's Dark Mark, but he couldn't sense anything from the doll mark on William's hand.

This seems like a tattoo that serves no purpose.

"Maybe."

William shook his head, pulled down the wristband, and covered the pattern again.

Scott shrugged. "If this is what you mean by help, then I can tell you right now that you overestimate me. I can't help you."

“I know,” William said, grasping his left wrist with his right hand, “but that’s not what I’m asking for.”

Scott gestured for him to continue.

“I would like to ask you to convey a message to Professor Flitwick, or better yet, to Dumbledore,” William said in a very low voice. “I am willing to pass on the message to that lady and the entire Witchcraft Council.”

Upon hearing this, Scott immediately looked up and stared into William's eyes, only to find them filled with seriousness.

Seriously?

Faced with Scott's undisguised suspicion, William smiled frankly and said, "Don't doubt me, Scott. We are all Ravenclaws. In this situation, we would instinctively choose the way that is most beneficial to ourselves."

“No, you’ve got it wrong, William. Being a spy is very dangerous,” Scott said. “It might not be the best thing for you.”

“That’s it, I believe you know that,” William said firmly.

Scott did not refute this.

To be honest, he didn't completely believe William's words.

However, he also believed that William's desire to withdraw from the All Witchcraft Council was genuine.

However, the reasons are open to discussion.

It wasn't so much because of Medea's danger and cruelty, but rather because he no longer had high hopes for Medea and the entire sorcery.

But the reason is not important; what matters is that this matter is beneficial to Scott.

Or rather, it was something he originally wanted to facilitate.

Before he could say anything, William brought it up himself, which was perhaps an unexpected surprise.

Although it was an unexpected surprise, Scott did not readily agree.

He asked cautiously, "Why don't you go and talk to Professor Flitwick yourself? You can write to me, and you can write to him too."

"Perhaps I can find an opportunity to write a letter, but I can't write to the professor often; that would be too dangerous."

William gave a serious explanation.

“Only you, that lady also gave you a communication fireplace, didn’t she? I can send you messages through the fireplace, and then you can pass them on to the professors.”

“A fireplace?” Scott was even more surprised. “I don’t believe that it’s not under Medea’s control.”

There is no safety to speak of.

William quickly replied, "Don't worry about that. That special Floo network still operates based on the Floo network built by the Ministry of Magic. Even that lady can't fully control it. I've been researching it for a long time. In short, I can find some opportunities that won't be discovered."

Despite his statement, Scott was not optimistic.

"For your own safety, it's best not to do this," he said. "I've said it before, going undercover is dangerous, so don't take any chances."

Not to mention...

"Furthermore, is your brain-blocking technique up to standard? It's not just about preventing others from reading your memories; you need to be able to freely fabricate false memories to deceive mind-controlling techniques."

William, however, said with great confidence, "I am also a Ravenclaw, Scott. I will not act impulsively without preparation."

"If that's the case, I agree."

Scott stood up and looked William in the eye.

Before William could speak, Scott continued, "But I still don't recommend using the fireplace for communication."

William frowned. "But whether we meet in person or write a letter, it will be even more..."

"Just wait and see."

Scott patted him on the shoulder and smiled mysteriously.

"I will send you the appropriate tools later."

“What?” William asked.

But Scott just told him to wait, without offering any explanation.

“Then, we have one last step,” he said to William. “Let’s sign a contract, a fair magical contract that binds our actions together.”

William hesitated for a moment, but did not object.

And so, they reached an agreement on this matter.

Both were intelligent people and understood that only a magical contract could put their minds at ease.

They discussed the contents of the contract and finally agreed on their respective terms.

After the contract was signed, Scott waved and turned to leave.

William didn't say anything more, he just stood there and watched him leave.

After leaving the park, Scott casually walked through a few streets. Instead of going back, he booked a room at a hotel.

After hanging a "Do Not Disturb" sign on his hotel room door, Scott, now back to his usual self, lay in bed and called home on his cell phone.

Emilia was initially happy to receive the call, but quickly became angry.

“You’re always like this, my dear son. Even during the summer holidays you can’t stay home properly. You were just going to Vienna for a concert, but you ran back to England instead, and I can’t even get through to you on your phone. It always makes me worry about you…”

Although Emilia spoke very gently, she talked non-stop for a long time, making Scott feel guilty and apologize repeatedly.

But Emilia didn't seem to want to let him off the hook so easily, and kept nagging for a long time, so long that Scott was almost falling asleep.

In the end, it was Michael who rescued him.

The conversation between father and son was much more straightforward. Michael simply asked about his current situation, gave a few casual words of advice, and then ended the call.

Scott put away his phone, and just then, Rimbaud flew into the room through the window.

“He went home after you left,” it reported to Scott. “He didn’t follow you, didn’t leave, and didn’t contact anyone. I saw him reading.”

"So, William really didn't do anything else?"

Scott sat up in bed.

"Let's begin then."

He walked to the desk and sat down, preparing to use alchemy to create a small object.

What are you planning to do?

Rimbaud flew to the desk and asked curiously.

“Something like a cell phone,” Scott replied. “Connected to my [Magic Mirror], but not for surveillance. It allows the holder to exchange messages and make calls with me over long distances.”

Through his mastery of the magic runes, he can even make video calls.

Rimbaud was somewhat dissatisfied after hearing his description.

It yelled, "You should have given me an alchemical item like this sooner, instead of a cell phone with no signal in the forest!"

“It was my fault,” Scott admitted readily. “I’m going to make a few more and give them to my friends.”

He then devoted himself entirely to the matter, even neglecting to eat dinner.

Throughout the night, he went through several failures, adjustments, and more failures until dawn, when he finally produced his first finished product.

"Magic Phone! Begin the ninth test now!"

Despite not having slept all night, Scott was still incredibly excited.

There were two mirrors, one large and one small, on the table in front of him.

A mirror the size of an A4 sheet of paper, wrapped in an exquisite blue plastic case, is his "magic mirror," while another mirror, the size of a palm, is his newly manufactured "magic phone."

Scott stretched out his finger and tapped the small mirror, channeling magic into it. Several rows of dots appeared on the mirror. He slid his finger across the dots, connecting them with lines, and finally drew a six-pointed star.

The mirror flickered, revealing a somewhat rough interface.

Scott happily began experimenting with the various features and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"It seems I succeeded."

He was overjoyed.

This "magic phone" doesn't have any other functions, but it can perform basic tasks such as sending messages, making calls, and video calls.

Of course, due to technical limitations, this can only be achieved between the [Magic Phone] and the [Magic Mirror], which serves as the "mother".

In other words, even if Scott makes many "magic phones" and gives them to his friends, the other friends cannot contact each other directly; they can only communicate through him.

If Scott wants to connect every wizard who possesses the Book of Prometheus, like the Knowledge Bank, he certainly can't do it now.

But this is enough for now.

He doesn't plan to spend much time continuing his research for the time being.

Scott pulled out a piece of paper, wrote down how to use the [magic phone], and then handed the paper and mirror to Rimbaud.

“Send it to William,” he instructed, “but before you get it to him, you need to make sure it’s really safe there.”

Rimbaud accepted the order and left.

Scott then stretched and slowly took a shower.

Afterwards, he went out of his room to enjoy a hearty breakfast, then went back to his room and fell asleep immediately.
