He couldn't understand why this would happen to Ravenclaw.
Chapter 007 The Prefect's Duties, The Five Weasleys
To be honest, Scott didn't really want to get involved in the freshmen's affairs.
He was neither a professor nor a prefect, so dealing with conflicts between students was not his responsibility.
But... since everyone else is still asleep, he can't just leave the freshmen here unattended.
"Ok."
Scott walked over and sat down on the sofa opposite the freshmen.
"So, new student, what's your name?"
“Jacob,” the boy sniffed, “Jacob Kent.”
Scott nodded. “Okay, Jacob. I’m Scott Trollope, a fourth-grader.”
“Hello, Mr. Trollope,” Jacob said quietly.
Scott wasn't interested in the reasons for the conflict among the freshmen, so he went straight to the point: "Jacob, why didn't you seek help from the prefects? You should know at least two prefects. As is customary, the fifth-year prefects, both male and female, were responsible for leading the freshmen to Ravenclaw Tower after last night's dinner."
Jacob sniffed loudly again and mumbled, "It's Miss Taylor and Mr. Cooper... but they both hate me... I don't dare go to them..."
"I hate you?"
Scott realized things might be more complicated than he thought. He looked Jacob in the eye and asked, "Can you tell me what happened? What did you do? Why were both the freshmen and those two prefects... well, unfriendly to you?"
“I didn’t! I really didn’t do it! They don’t believe me!” Jacob suddenly raised his voice and screamed.
"stop!!"
Scott was getting a headache from his noise and quickly stopped him.
Perhaps noticing Scott's unpleasant expression, Jacob immediately apologized in a low voice, his face filled with fear: "I'm sorry, Mr. Trollope, but... it really wasn't me..."
"So what exactly happened..."
Scott was about to ask what was going on when he caught a glimpse of Penelope coming down the stairs from the girls' dormitory. He quickly stopped himself from asking and stood up to go over to her.
Good morning, Penelope.
“Oh, good morning, Scott.” Penelope said, somewhat surprised. “Is there something you need?”
“Over there.” Scott pointed to Jacob, who was still curled up on the sofa. “Jacob Kent, a freshman, was kicked out of his dorm by his roommates and spent the night in the common room. I think that’s something the prefect should handle.”
He couldn't wait to release this information.
“Oh, Scott,” Penelope said with a smile, “maybe you could help this poor boy directly; I know you can handle it well.”
“No, I’m not a prefect, it’s not my job,” Scott immediately refused.
“Okay.” Penelope shrugged slightly. “Watching from the sidelines, that’s so Ravenclaw, but…”
She smiled teasingly.
"Perhaps next year... Professor Flitwick has always liked you, and he might choose you to be the new prefect."
"Let's talk about it next year then."
Scott shrugged and came up to Jacob with Penelope.
Jacob had already stood up from the sofa, looking at the two of them with some trepidation.
Scott said in as gentle a tone as possible, “Alright, Jacob. This is Penelope Crivart, a sixth-year student and a Ravenclaw prefect. Don’t worry, she’ll help you.”
“Miss Crevat.” Jacob glanced at Peneno and quickly lowered his head.
“Hello, Jacob.” Penelope smiled reassuringly. “Come on, take me to your room.”
"But……"
Jacob was still somewhat frightened, and he looked at Scott with pleading eyes.
Unfortunately, Scott had no intention of getting involved any further. He simply comforted the boy, saying, "Go ahead, Jacob. Peneno is the prefect; her word carries more weight than mine."
Penelope stood to the side, smiling, considerately refraining from exposing Scott's words.
When Jacob heard Scott say that, he could only dejectedly take Penelope to the male students' dormitory.
He couldn't help but look back several times on the way, but Scott was already sitting on the sofa by the window with the book "Standard Spells, Volume Four" open, and didn't pay any attention to his gaze.
Twenty minutes later, Scott closed his book, but Peneno still hadn't come out of the male students' dormitory.
It seems this matter is indeed quite troublesome?
Scott muttered something but still had no intention of participating. He tucked his textbooks and notebooks under his arm and walked out of the common room.
As Scott descends the long spiral staircase down the tower, he sees Percy Weasley lingering beneath Ravenclaw Tower.
“Good morning, Weasley,” Scott greeted him. “Waiting for Penelope?”
"Yes, good morning, Trollope."
Percy Weasley immediately stopped pacing and stood up straighter. His face was slightly flushed, and his freckles were more prominent.
Scott immediately understood why Penelope had gotten up so early, but he didn't feel sorry for making their date a night.
After all, isn't that really the prefect's responsibility?
but……
"You'll probably have to wait a bit longer, Weasley."
He could casually explain Penelope's lateness.
“Unfortunately, something happened…” He didn’t want to tell Gryffindor about Ravenclaw, so he glossed over it, “Anyway… it needs to be handled by Prefect Penelope, she’s busy right now.”
“Oh, it’s alright, of course a prefect has to do his job.” Percy Weasley seemed to accept it well. “Thank you for telling me, Trollope.”
After saying goodbye to Percy Weasley, Scott left Ravenclaw Tower and walked across the long viaduct toward the Great Hall on the other side of the cliff.
It was nearly breakfast time, and students began to leave their common rooms one after another. Hogwarts Castle was gradually awakening in the morning light.
Good morning, Scott.
In the auditorium's foyer, two overlapping voices suddenly greeted Scott.
Good morning, Weasleys.
Scott smiled more naturally when facing the red-haired Weasley twins than when he faced their older brother, Percy Weasley.
"Oh, Merlin's stinky socks!"
"We've known each other for three years!"
"Scott actually called us Weasleys!"
"Maybe he doesn't know that our parents also gave us names!"
Fred and George put their arms around Scott's shoulders, one on each side, and began to launch into a tirade of accusations.
“I bet, George, he called him Weasley when he was talking to Percy just now.” Fred raised the monocular telescope in his other hand.
“It’s obvious, Fred, that Mr. Trollope puts us on the same level as Percy in his relationships!” George said bitterly.
The two men simultaneously yelled into Scott's ear, "This is an insult to us!!"
“Okay, sorry.” Scott quickly surrendered. “Forgive me, Fred, George, I ran into three Weasleys in a short period of time.”
“Unfortunately, Mr. Trollope,” George said.
Fred winked. "Our little sister started school this year too."
George raised an eyebrow. "Plus our idiot little brother."
The two concluded in unison, "Now there are five Weasleys in Gryffindor."
Scott couldn't help but chuckle a few times. "Well, it's really fortunate that I'm not in Gryffindor."
“This is truly heartbreaking; Professor McGonagall’s most prized student would say such a thing,” Fred said with a loud “sob.”
George, also wiping away "tears," said, "Merlin, Professor McGonagall clearly liked him so much."
Chapter 008 An Invitation to Adventure, A Birthday Gift
"Why are you two up so early today?" Scott looked at Fred and George inquisitively. "Unless... you didn't sleep last night?"
“We’ve had enough of summer vacation! And a great adventure is calling us!” Fred gave a strange bow.
George proudly raised his head. "Mr. Trollope, who has been absent from the adventures for a whole year, would never understand such a principle."
“But I did offer you support, didn’t I?” Scott pointed to the brass monocular in Fred’s hand.
“This is just your Christmas present from last year!” Fred shortened the telescope and put it into the pocket of his robe.
"It won't let us catch a glimpse of that pesky old Filch when we're out exploring the winding castle at night." George pulled an identical pair of binoculars out of his pocket and waved them around. "We can only use it to observe what Percy is up to in his sneaky ways."
“Perhaps he wants to ambush and kill a few rivals under Ravenclaw Tower,” Fred guessed.
George's eyes widened in horror. "That way he can make sure he becomes student council president in seventh grade!"
Scott couldn't help but chuckle.
“Maybe he’ll choose to kill you two annoying brothers first,” he said.
“Oh, Percy must have thought that more than once.” George winked.
Fred continued, "He wants to be Minister of Magic, and we might become his future stain."
"He thought that as long as the stain was removed..."
"...and he could become a pure and innocent Minister of Magic!"
The two men made strange remarks and then burst into laughter.
After laughing, Fred suddenly became serious and said, "We want to tell you, Scott."
"Welcome back to us for the new school year," George said, adopting a serious expression.
Scott was somewhat surprised. He had only encountered the twins a few times during his nighttime outings in his first and second years, when they had evaded the doorman, Filch. Last school year, however, he had been engrossed in his research and hadn't gone out at night again.
Unexpectedly, the twins mistook him for a nighttime stroller.
