Over the next few days, Scott became increasingly aware of the changes in Milton's magic.

Such growth is almost akin to experiencing a magical upheaval.

Most wizards will not have this experience again after enrolling in school.

This made Scott even more curious about the oath he made with Milton in the "deal".

This was completely beyond his original expectations.

Can talent and inspiration, these ethereal, intangible, conceptual things, really be manipulated?

Moreover, Milton did not disclose the specific details of the "deal," seemingly because he was bound by an oath to remain silent.

This gave Scott a new understanding of magic.

But he still couldn't bring himself to investigate the matter.

There was no time to explore.

His fourth year, first semester, has finally come to an end.

On the day of his vacation, Scott put all his luggage into the shape-shifting lizard skin bag and left the dormitory feeling relaxed.

Rimbaud, as a pet, still stood on his shoulders.

He encountered Jacob, who was sitting on a sofa reading a book, in the common room.

“Jacob, aren’t you going back?” he asked casually.

“I can’t bring any more junk home.” Jacob looked up at him. “You’d better watch out, Scott.”

"..."

Scott's joy at returning home was immediately overshadowed.

He understood that Jacob was referring to the time when Jasmine Travers had sent house-elves to follow him to his home.

He was reminding Scott to be careful about bringing "messy stuff" home.

This immediately put Scott on alert.

Because Jacob's reminder was not without reason.

“I hope you’re not a jinx,” he said to Jacob in a rather irritable tone.

He was somewhat annoyed that he hadn't thought of this aspect because he was so immersed in the joy of returning home.

He did not sign the list of students staying at school, and he had already written home to tell his parents the date he would be returning home. Now, it was too late for him to back out.

They had no choice but to leave Hogwarts as originally planned.

Scott narrowed his eyes.

Hopefully, no one will be so inconsiderate as to disturb my vacation.

After saying goodbye to Jacob, Scott and his roommates left the castle and took a carriage from the main gate of the school to the Hogsmeade Village platform.

After boarding the train, Roger went to find his girlfriend.

Scott, Milton, and Eddie sat in a cubicle discussing how they would spend their Christmas holidays.

Everyone looked very happy.

Not long after, Roger returned.

He shrugged at them. "She's talking to a few girls and told me not to disturb her girlfriends' time."

Scott and his friends made a few sarcastic remarks to him, then continued their conversation.

The train started moving quickly.

Scott watched the scenery pass by outside the window, and his mood gradually calmed down.

Getting upset won't help.

It's simply a matter of dealing with whatever comes our way.

Then, the roommates started talking about how they would get home after arriving in London.

Eddie's home is in London, and Roger and Milton's wizard father will come to pick them up.

Scott alone had to transfer to a train to travel south.

“You’re going to Charing Cross Station?” Eddie said. “You can take my car, and I’ll have Dad drive you. Actually, you could try taking the Knight Bus back…”

"Shhh."

Scott suddenly made a shushing gesture.

The cubicle immediately fell silent.

Scott suddenly stood up and opened the cubicle door.

He looked coldly at Mill, who stood helplessly outside the door. "You didn't just happen to be passing by, did you, Miss Mill?"

……

Chapter 091 On the Train Leaving School

"Savana?"

Roger saw Mill, stood up, and walked to the door, while giving Scott a wink.

Scott raised an eyebrow, turned around, and sat back down in his seat.

"Is there something you need, Savannah?"

Roger leaned against the door frame, unconsciously striking what he thought was a very cool pose.

Scott and his two other roommates simultaneously looked away.

"What, you want to talk to me, Roger?" Mill's shrill voice rang out. "Aren't you afraid Kachini will find out?"

Roger chuckled. "Please, Savannah. We're just having a few words here. Kachini isn't that petty."

"is it?"

Mir gave a cold laugh.

"But I have nothing to say to you! Besides, I was just passing by!"

After hearing her say those words, Scott hurried away.

Roger, completely bewildered, closed the door and returned to his seat.

“What’s wrong with her?” He looked at Scott. “Maybe it really is just a coincidence?”

"Trust me, Roger."

Scott pushed open the car window next to him.

There aren't that many coincidences in the world.

He reached out and picked up Rimbaud, which had been perched on his shoulder, and whispered to it, "Go and see what that girl will do next."

After saying that, he let Rimbaud out of the car window.

Roger, watching his actions, asked with some confusion, "Scott, aren't you being a little too cautious?"

“It’s never too late to be careful, Roger.” Eddie grinned at Roger. “Don’t forget about Lisa Dupin.”

"Impossible! All my ex-girlfriends have always admired me. You know, my first love from elementary school would send me a postcard every Christmas!"

Roger said confidently.

He made a smug gesture, "I'm a perfect boyfriend. I've broken up with him 12 times and it's never led to any fight."

He concluded by emphasizing, "Of course, strictly speaking, Lisa is not my ex-girlfriend."

“It’s hard to believe.” Milton frowned. “Although it’s not the first time I’ve heard Roger say something like that, it still makes me uncomfortable every time.”

“You’re too old-fashioned, Milton.”

Roger shrugged dismissively.

“Wizards are very conservative, but you and I are half-bloods, you should see more of the Muggle world.”

Milton shook his head. "I'm not like you, Roger."

“Well, you have very little contact with the Muggle world, while I grew up in the Muggle world. That’s the difference,” Roger said with a laugh.

Milton said with a sigh, "Even though my father married my mother, a Muggle, I don't think he accepted her world because of it."

Roger laughed awkwardly and said, "You know, people are never good at accepting new things. My dad is a wizard, but he's in the same situation as Scott and Eddie."

Scott and the others had all heard Roger talk about his family.

Roger's father, Mr. Davis, was from a Muggle family, meaning that Roger's grandparents were both Muggles.

After Mr. Davis got married, they lived in the Muggle world to accommodate Mrs. Davis's work.

Roger's life from childhood to adulthood was not much different from Scott and Eddie's, except that his father would secretly use magic at home.

But Milton's family situation is likely much more complicated.

Although he only occasionally revealed a few words, Scott and his team could still make some rough guesses.

It was nothing more than a family dispute caused by his father marrying a Muggle woman.

Therefore, Scott speculated that Milton gave up music in exchange for magic, probably so that his mother could have a better life.

Hearing Roger's clumsy attempt at comforting him, Milton smiled through his red eyes, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that, it was a bit of a downer."

Milton's near-tears made Roger's expression change instantly, and he almost used the gentle tone he usually used to woo women.

"Don't say that. Of course you can choose to confide in us about your troubles. While we can't help, we'll at least be good listeners."

Eddie chimed in, "Quiet, patient, and tight-lipped."

“You just can’t use the word ‘tight-lipped,’ Eddie the big mouth,” Scott joked to ease the tension.

“Hey!” Eddie glared at him, annoyed.

"Thank you."

Milton laughed again.
