Toka felt strange upon hearing this, and once again he felt the fickleness of human nature.

They were shouting so fiercely just now, how come they've suddenly become 'soft-hearted'?

This was a rather complicated problem, and Toka couldn't figure it out even after returning to his room.

Sitting on the bed, Toka felt somewhat uncomfortable.

The familiar room seemed to have an extra foreign object, and he could no longer relax.

His gaze inadvertently fell on the iron cabinet, and a thought struck the pig-headed man.

I walked up to the cabinet and put my ear to it. Sure enough, the contents were still there!

It's been a whole day already.

Toka didn't care yesterday because the contents hadn't affected him yet, but now he can't ignore it anymore.

The pig-headed man stared at the cabinet, trying to guess what was inside.

A lost stray cat?

Wild animals in the jungle?

Someone played a prank on him? Well, that's a pretty far-fetched guess.

Toka hesitated for a moment, but decided not to open the cabinet.

'Maybe it'll leave while I'm asleep.'

Section 106, Chapter 105: Communication

Toka opened his eyes. In the pitch-black darkness, he felt the weariness and anxiety in his heart.

It was clearly not the time to get up, but he woke up anyway.

'Haven't left yet?'

The pig-headed man got off the bed and groped his way to the corner of the wall.

Toka calmed down a little as he picked up his precious cigarette butt with his hand.

He felt he couldn't continue like this; once his routine was disrupted, he might not be able to handle the heavy workload.

Toka remained crouched on the ground for a long time, listening to another steady breathing sound in the room, lost in thought.

As dawn broke, Toka made his decision.

He walked up to the metal cabinet and slowly opened the door.

Toca wondered what might be inside—a lost beast or some kind of mysterious creature?

However, he never expected to see such a little guy in his room.

'He is a human being'

'Little girl'

'Why is she in my metal cabinet?' The pig-headed man was full of questions.

His movements seemed to have disturbed the little girl's sweet dream; she rubbed her eyes and woke up.

When Bubble opened her eyes, she saw a pig-headed man staring at her from outside the cabinet, but she wasn't afraid.

"Hello"

"Hello," Toka replied instinctively.

He immediately regretted it after saying that.

Toka, the pig-headed man, has always kept a secret: of all the pig-headed men, he is the only one who can speak.

He had kept this secret for a long time, but it was exposed to a young girl today.

Bubble stepped out of the closet and looked around for a while.

"Have you seen Keke?" the little girl asked.

"Who is Coco?" Now that he had spoken, Toka no longer tried to hide his answer.

"Keke is a big sister. She has cat ears and soft hands. Bubble is playing hide-and-seek with her."

The little girl seemed to remember something, and pointed to herself, "I'm Bubble, what's your name?"

The pig-headed man hesitated for a moment, then gave the name that the humans had given him when they were bored: "Toka, my name is Toka."

"Has Toka seen Coco?"

The pig-headed man shook his head; he had never seen such a conspicuous creature before.

Hmm? Toka suddenly remembered the conversation the foremen had a few days ago.

He couldn't remember exactly what they said, but it seemed like they hadn't captured a female demi-human and they also mentioned a human little girl.

Toka looked at the little girl in front of him and asked the question that had been bothering him: "How did you end up in my metal cabinet?"

"Keke said he wanted to play hide-and-seek with Bubble, but Bubble thought hide-and-seek was more fun to play inside a house."

"This is a big house. After Bubble came in, it hid inside."

What a strange fellow, Toka couldn't help but think.

Although he was often called a strange Toka by those humans, he felt that the human girl in front of him was stranger than himself.

Is it possible to hide in a closet for two or three days just for a game of hide-and-seek?

Well, to be honest, I don't know much about human children. Maybe this little girl's behavior is normal.

'Human children are very persistent,' Toka the pig-headed man concluded with a new observation.

"Keke hasn't found the bubble yet, I win."

The little girl said happily, and then her stomach made a 'gurgling' sound.

"I'm so hungry."

She rubbed her belly and looked expectantly at the pig-headed man in front of her.

"Does Toka have any food?"

"We'll only eat at noon,"

Halfway through his speech, he remembered the dried sweet potatoes that a foreman had given him.

"Here you go." The pig-headed man generously took out the bag of dried sweet potatoes.

After eating those terrible foods for a long time, Toca got used to them.

He was content as long as he had enough to eat; he didn't care much about dried sweet potatoes.

"Thank you, Toka!"

'No one has ever said thank you to me.' Thinking this, Toka felt a little strange.

Bubble was starving, and she quickly devoured a small bag of dried sweet potatoes.

She waved to Toka: "Toka, I'm going to find Coco now, goodbye."

The pig-headed man was startled and reached out to stop her.

Going out now would definitely get her caught by the night shift supervisor. Even though they were all human, Toka believed that the little girl couldn't be discovered by those guys.

"Toka?"

“It’s dangerous outside, you can’t go out,” Toka advised.

"But Coco will worry if he can't find me."

"Wait a few more days, and I'll find an opportunity to take you out."

Toka decided to help the little girl, not for any other reason than to hear her say thank you. Toka couldn't bear to watch Bubble be harmed.

Seeing Bubble nod, the pig-headed man breathed a sigh of relief.

He had heard the overseers say that there were special kinds of children among humans called "bratty kids," whose characteristics were that they caused trouble and refused to listen to advice.

If Bubble were a naughty child, Toka wouldn't know what to do.

“I’m going to work in a bit. When I leave, you’ll still be hiding in the metal cabinet.”

Toka, thinking Morrison might come back today, added, "I'll bring you something delicious tonight."

"Ok."

Bubble was very happy; she felt she had met a kind person.

"It's dangerous outside, is Toka alright?" Bubble asked again, sounding worried.

"I'm fine, I just need to focus on my work."

Toka thought of the other pig-headed men, and compared to them, he was still very lucky.

"Get to work?"

"Hmm, cutting and sorting meat every day..."

When Toka met someone who was willing to communicate with him on an equal footing for the first time, he found himself talking much more.

He found that talking to bubbles was more relaxing than counting cigarette butts.

'Communication is very important.' The pig-headed man silently made a mental note of this.

After a while, Toka reluctantly stopped talking.

"I'm leaving. You can wait for me without worry."

"Toka, get to work!"

After returning to the monotonous assembly line, perhaps due to a change in mindset, Toka became incredibly motivated.

"Beep beep"

The car horn blared outside the door, and the supervisors ran out excitedly.

"Boss Morrison is back!"
