Unspeakable bubbles
Page 98
The thought of this possibility filled Keke with fear.
The people in this factory aren't decent people. If Bubble goes in alone, she'll probably be sold off.
Keke didn't want to give up hope, and clinging to the possibility, she decided to investigate this illegal processing plant today.
There are people at the door, but the wall isn't very high.
If I were uninjured, climbing over the wall wouldn't be a problem, but now...
"It's done!" Coco grinned, the pain from his wound unable to mask the joy in his heart.
'I haven't regressed yet.'
With that thought in mind, the catwoman quickly began to survey the area.
Hmm, not here, but over there, the pigsty?
Staring in astonishment at the group of pig-headed people huddled there, Coco shook his head, dismissing any sympathy he felt.
The most important thing now is to find the bubbles; everything else can take a backseat.
Carefully sneaking into the factory, Coco immediately spotted several humans lying drunk on the ground.
Feeling a sense of relief, the catwoman tiptoed inside.
The factory had quite a few rooms, but Coco didn't have a key, so he could only stick it to the door and rely on his excellent hearing.
'Nobody'
Still no.
Time passed by, and Keke felt a little frustrated.
'Could it be that the bubble isn't actually here?'
Catwoman suddenly heard footsteps and quickly hid in the shadows.
A burly, pig-headed man carrying a bowl passed by her, and Keke held her breath.
'Not found.'
Just as Coco was thinking this, the pig-headed man suddenly stopped in his tracks.
He sniffed hard and turned his head suspiciously.
Worse!
Although she didn't know where she had given herself away, Keke decisively rushed out from the corner.
Without any weapons and already injured, Coco didn't think he could take down a strong demi-human.
For now, we have no choice but to retreat.
Toka watched the figure fleeing at high speed, but did not shout or scream as the catwoman had guessed.
The pig-headed man watched the catwoman leave in silence, recalling Bubble's description of someone.
"A pair of cat ears, and soft, squishy palms."
Could she be Keke, who came to the factory today looking for bubbles?
She ran too fast; there's no way we can catch her now.
Toka shook his head. 'Never mind, let's feed Bubble first.'
He returned to the room and knocked on the metal cabinet to wake the little girl.
"Let's eat," the pig-headed man said in a very low voice.
Bubble smiled at Toka and began to wolf down his food.
"It's so delicious!" The little girl was surprised to find that even though the food was cold, it was still incredibly tasty.
“I did it,” Toka said proudly.
The little girl looked at him with admiration and gave the pig-headed man a thumbs up.
"I think I just ran into one of your companions."
After Bubbles had finished eating, Toka began to recount what had happened outside.
"Is it Keke?" Bubble asked softly.
"Probably, but unfortunately I startled her and she's already run away."
Seeing Bubble's disappointed expression, Toka comforted him, "We can't go out today. During dinner earlier, Hanken was sent out to guard the gate halfway through."
“It will be ready tomorrow night, just wait a little longer,” the pig-headed man said confidently.
Toka had spent a lot of time with the overseers and knew their habits very well.
Tomorrow morning they will definitely be busy training the new piglets. It's not an easy job, otherwise those skilled pig-headed people wouldn't be selling for such high prices.
Based on Toca's experience, tomorrow will be a chaotic day.
By evening, the overseers would be extremely tired, partly due to hangovers.
"No one will be guarding the gate tomorrow night, I'll take you out then."
The thought that she would never see Bubbles again after tomorrow made Toka feel a little reluctant to part with them.
The two had only known each other for a few days, but this young girl was the only person he had ever spoken to in all these years. After the girl left, Toka didn't even know when he would speak again.
"Isn't Toka going with Bubble?" the little girl asked, catching Toka completely off guard.
"Uh, I'm going out..."
This was a question the pig-headed man had never considered. He stared blankly at the bubbles. "Why go outside?"
“There are bad people here, but Toka is a kind person.”
“Kind-hearted Toka shouldn’t be here,” Bubble said earnestly.
"But"
Toka hesitated, unable to speak. He had been going back and forth between factories since he could remember, and he knew nothing about the world outside the factories.
"Bubble, what's it like outside?"
Bubble doesn't know much about Elijah.
The girl thought for a moment, "But I can talk about the Federation."
"federal?"
"Yes, that's a place far from here, the place where Bubble was born."
Bubble and Toka talked about the orphanage, her sister, her school, and her friends.
The pig-headed man listened with longing, "What a wonderful place! So many friends, so many fun things to do, I wish I could..."
Toka's heart was burning with excitement. He had thought the outside world would be similar to a factory, but it turned out to be completely different.
"The outside world is vast, wouldn't Toka like to go out and see it?"
"..."
"I want to go out."
At that moment, Toka made a crucial decision.
Toca didn't believe the outside world was as wonderful as Bubble described; if it were, Morrison and the others wouldn't be drowning their sorrows in alcohol.
However, one question from the little girl struck a chord with him.
The world outside is so big, don't you want to go out and explore?
"I'll go out with you tomorrow too."
If he stays here, he'll be destined to be a laborer until the day he dies.
Toka wanted to make a change, no matter the cost.
Bubble was delighted to see that Toka had made a decision. She asked with concern, "Does Toka have any friends here? Should we ask him to come along?"
Friends? They don't exist.
Those humans were obviously out of the question, and the remaining pig-headed people? Forget about it.
"No need, they are different from me."
Toka was stunned as soon as he said it.
He finally understood why he had been so indifferent to those pig-headed people before, and why he had never felt that he was one of them.
So that's how it is.
The pig-headed man suddenly laughed, feeling both pleased and ashamed.
He was happy that he finally understood what he wanted, but ashamed that without Bubble's reminder, he would probably have lived his whole life in a daze.
'I've never been a law-abiding pig-headed person.'
'Then let me go out and see!'
Section 109, Chapter 108: The deception is exposed.
Morrison shook his head; the hangover was really unpleasant.
He wanted to lie there and continue sleeping, but his burning throat kept protesting.
Morrison struggled to his feet and groped for his water glass in the dark.
Empty...
After muttering a few words to himself, the man realized he had no choice but to take a longer route.
There's water in the dorm; next time I'll definitely put a kettle on the table.
Morrison slowly returned to his room, and at the door, he suddenly smelled a strange odor.
It was because he hadn't showered for several days, and the strong body odor mixed with cheap perfume created a strange smell.
In a daze, Morrison only frowned slightly. He didn't think much of it, went back to his room, drank some water, and then simply lay down on the bed and fell asleep.
