The group from the Peda Empire, after finishing transporting the boxes and finding that the so-called true god was not there, were not too disappointed. Instead, they obediently ran into the crowd to listen to the unexpectedly moving devil's speech.
A little while later, the traces of spacetime fluctuations were felt again. Phenomena that had only been heard of in legends were occurring so frequently today that everyone had become accustomed to them.
The ancient demon king glanced at it and, upon realizing it wasn't Sen, was somewhat disappointed.
But when the person inside stepped out and revealed their face, their audience erupted in uproar.
"Yes, yes...His Holiness the Pope?!"
"impossible!"
"This is...the Pope?"
“It is indeed His Majesty! A true god has manifested, of course he will come…”
People still revered this elderly man who bore the title of Pope but was in reality just an ordinary person. But at this moment, the crowd felt something unprecedented; the Pope was no longer out of reach. Before the true God, all humanity, regardless of status, must revere and admire her beauty.
He brought a box.
"...Primordial Evil?" He was somewhat surprised. From the sacred texts and secrets passed down within the inner sanctum, he recognized what the dark figure before him actually was.
"Pope..."
The ancient Demon King cried out in alarm. These religious fanatics, who would shout the name of God and then draw sacred letters as they rushed to fight him, were truly an awkward encounter. Perhaps the other side would even mistake him for the primordial evil that brought calamity to the world.
Are you the enemy we're waiting for?
“It’s not an enemy—” said one of the coffin bearers.
The sound rang out, and then she herself took that step, touching the floor tiles of Silver Ring City, the portal to time and space seemingly following her everywhere. Sen Shi had rushed over in a hurry, even faster than the craftsmen from the Demon Realm.
When she arrived, the crowd erupted in cheers.
No one cared anymore about the devil, the primordial evil, or the various calamities they were experiencing today. The cheers were deafening, enough to cause an earthquake, shaking the furnishings of nearby shops to the ground.
The sound of voices is calling to her and praising her.
At this moment—every vibration in this world seems to exist solely to proclaim her divinity.
Mori enjoyed it for a second, and to be honest, it made her very happy... except for the buzzing in her ears. However, this wasn't the time for her to be secretly pleased. She straightened her face, raised her hand, and put her index finger to her soft lips, signaling everyone to be quiet.
All sounds are silent.
Even the cats in the alley stopped and held their breath.
The Pope came forward, with countless words he wanted to say, but his first priority was to present the box with both hands.
And they said devoutly, "We are all your servants."
“I know.” Mori took the box, then took out the sacred relics from the crystal box in his bag and handed them to the other party. “Thank you for your piety, but now is not a good time to discuss this in detail—”
"The coffin bearers..."
"I brought the design drawings with me."
In response to the divine decree, the book she brought flew up from beside Sen Shi and landed on the ice table. Adding Fu Fu, Shan, and the Ancient Demon King, if they weren't all handless and limbless, they could easily make a mahjong table.
Mori has countless questions he wants answered, but not now.
The book, upon which hope was placed, carefully examined the tattered pocket watch. The eyes on the cover scrutinized it from every angle. Though only a few seconds had passed, it felt as long as an eternity. Both Mori and the Ancient Demon King prayed silently, hoping this path would be successful.
fine--
"It can be repaired. The damage isn't too severe. We only need to replace a total of fifty parts."
"Now, everything here is under your command! I only ask that it be repaired before dawn." Since this blueprint can speak and has a soul, letting the blueprint command everything is naturally the best choice.
The book accepted the request and then looked around at the craftsmen.
“There aren’t enough people, and…” it lamented, “they’re all rookies! They can make parts, but we need a real master to disassemble and replace them…otherwise—the world will collapse.”
"The world?" the Pope asked, seemingly lost in thought.
Yes, this world.
The artisans were all sullen; compared to the safety of the world, the most tragic thing was having their craft rejected. Later, a group of artisans from the realm of demons also arrived, but still there were no true masters. Instead, they fostered mutual understanding, mutual support, and solidarity between the two groups of artisans.
Everyone sighed.
The sadness spread like wildfire to the ordinary people, and the entire Silver Ring City was as silent as the flames of war, spreading mercilessly.
Mori smiled, feeling that the time had come.
She then donned the title she was most proud of, "Master-Level Magical Master," and entered a state of mindless creation. Afterward, she closed her eyes, awaiting the cheers—
But the book still had a melancholic tone: "There are no real masters. You should try your best to make the parts first... I'll try to elevate the most accomplished person here in the next few hours."
"...What about me?" Mori asked blankly. Was he wearing a fake title?
……
(ps)
Actually, I've never had an outline when I write books. I just find some impressive-sounding words from song lyrics or sudden flashes of inspiration, and then add them into the book, like a plot hole. For example, Eden Bank is a word I borrowed from it.
As for how to fill these gaps, to be honest, I really don't know.
It took me 750,000 words to finally understand what Eden Bank really is.
The plot unfolds as the writer intended, developing in whatever way makes sense, without being actively interfered with by a predetermined outline...
As for foreshadowing and plot holes, once the plot is mostly complete, I can always wrap things up with some deep thought and a flash of inspiration, and then use them for other purposes... From "The Crossroads of Life and Death" to the current "My Head Goes Crazy," that's how I write books.
The claim that the plot comes first and then the plot holes are just a way to fool you, an excuse to reassure you and prevent you from abandoning the book out of fear.
So, so—
I really don't recommend guessing the plot. I'm afraid you'll guess everything, leaving me with no way to proceed...
If you insist on copying book reviews, that would be a bit awkward.
Volume 1 #347 The Vanished Butterfly
Mori no longer doubted her master title, because it was genuine; there was no higher level she could reach. She had reached the ultimate limit. In that case… she had worn the wrong title.
Because along her journey, she had often needed the skill of "magic mastery," and had habitually acquired the title of "Master" in this skill. But perhaps, to repair the pocket watch, she would need the skills of "jewelry" or "blacksmithing"...
Just then, the phantom of the Ancient Demon King slowly drifted over.
Like a predator eyeing its prey, it habitually scratched the ground with its claws. As the "Primordial Evil" and the "King of Ancient Demons," this creature possessed an extremely powerful background. Having lived to this day, it harbored a certain arrogance, believing its destiny was in its own hands. Thus, it assumed that the hero chosen by fate was probably itself.
“I am very confident in my craftsmanship. The crown, the bed, everything I prepared for Yuan were all made by my own hands… Perhaps the master craftsman you need is me, but the responsibility of saving my daughter is what I need to shoulder.”
"No amateurs please." The book glanced at it impatiently; the answer was cruel.
"What exactly is that? What skills do you need to master to become a master?"
Sen asked anxiously from behind, wondering if she was no longer the one to save everything this time.
The book seemed about to call Mori an "amateur," but then it seemed to sense something. After staring at the broken pocket watch for a long time, it gave the answer, word by word—
"A master who can weave all things."
"tailor?"
"Yes, it requires a true master tailor. The countless parts that make up a pocket watch can be seen as the various elements of the world, and only someone who has reached the pinnacle can weave the parts correctly and give the world its true workings. Otherwise, the parts are just parts."
"—I, I know one! The true god who controls cutting and weaving, Olsterruman, that handsome..." The ancient demon king seemed to choke, his excited words suddenly stopping, "...handsome young man, actually...has been dead for a long time."
The book gave rise to another voice, continuing to direct the craftsmen in making parts.
As a design blueprint, it possesses absolutely accurate knowledge and consistently rational thinking. Even when faced with a diverse group of artisans of varying races and skill levels, it can still issue precise instructions.
Some people went to prepare tools, others were collecting materials, and nearby shops started their furnaces. Onlookers also began to spontaneously prepare refreshing drinks and easy-to-eat food to support the craftsmen.
The several boxes that were delivered were opened one by one, revealing the actual raw materials needed to forge the parts.
In Sen Shi's understanding, these boxes are known as "the gravedigger's legacy".
An unlucky name—but according to the mimosa, the materials in these boxes are needed to repair the pocket watch. In that case, everything is inextricably linked to this strange "gravekeeper."
Mori didn't know who the gravedigger was, where he was, or whether he was still alive.
When the box was opened, Mimosa quietly came over and watched with Sen Shi.
Unravel the magical traps one by one—
Inside the box were various nearly lost magic books, some rare medicines, and peaches, watermelons, and grapes that were still incredibly fresh and juicy. To be honest, without rare and precious ingredients, Sen Shi didn't think these things could repair the pocket watch…
"Does the pocket watch like to eat fruit? Will it be alright if it eats some?"
"...I don't know that much either."
Mori wanted to ask a few more questions, but suddenly, she noticed a hidden compartment in the box. She asked for the box, opened it, and a tiny butterfly floated out from the compartment, disappearing in an instant.
But in the blink of an eye, the butterfly vanished—as if it were nothing more than a fleeting dream.
But Mori, who was so close, clearly heard something... This butterfly seemed to be composed of some kind of melody, and since sounds are always fleeting, the butterfly naturally couldn't fly for long. But those melodies echoed in Mori's ears.
"—I miss you."
This is the meaning and emotion that music carries.
Could this be a rumor left by the gravedigger for someone?
Meanwhile—the Pope, engrossed in watching the coffin bearers the entire time, saw the butterfly. He didn't dare blink, even though his eyes were dry and aching. It was for this reason that he saw the butterfly…it looked familiar, but he couldn't quite place it.
“Guard the Blade of Chaos.” He raised his hand and summoned B.
"What do you need? I need to protect the true god." B said, clearly dissatisfied.
"It should be recorded in the scriptures, right? The vanished butterfly..."
"Are you senile? How could you forget such a classic? Of course you have. In the rose garden where everything is reviving, butterflies appear as chanting, accompanied by silent and vanishing butterflies."
The Pope fell silent. Could what he had just heard be something recorded in the canon...?
"Hey, Four Seasons! Hand over those boxes you're carrying!" It was the Book's voice. Now that it had gained command, it had become arrogant. "Don't let amateurs delay the progress. I need materials."
“The box is empty.” Sen Shi picked it up and shook it; it was completely empty.
"That's exactly what I wanted, what are you thinking? Also, take those fruits away! In case they corrode the pocket watch... Take them further away, we won't need them anyway."
Morishi and Mimosa exchanged bewildered glances. Could it be that the so-called materials were the boxes themselves, rather than what was inside? Following this line of thought, Morishi carefully examined the boxes... Hmm, so the rare and precious materials were right beside them.
Since that's the case—she reached into her bag with both hands, and there were two more inside.
