That makes perfect sense. Training soldiers isn't the end of the story; the resources required to maintain an army are just as much as those required for training.
Of course, while this mechanism is reasonable, it is also quite unpopular.
The other troop types that Leyou chooses each have their own advantages, but the most crucial one is the inconspicuous and limited number of bear monster mercenaries.
"All troops shall assemble at the front line and cooperate with the defensive fortifications. The bear warriors shall prioritize providing support from the rear. They shall not advance unless absolutely necessary!"
While issuing various orders, they also turned their attention to different places to handle various details. After a lot of work, the initial arrangements were finally largely completed.
At this point... the preparation time left for Leyou has also been reduced to zero.
"The Legion will destroy you!!!"
"Your souls will be frozen by bone-chilling cold!!!"
"May you return to the abyss in your slumber!!!"
"Surrender to absolute power!!!"
The pit lords, liches, dreadlords, and the last to descend, the corrupted, the great and small commanders of the Burning Legion, their demons, and the undead, all let out a terrifying howl.
With a god-like perspective surveying his three current bases, Leyou focused his attention on the front line, awaiting the arrival of the enemy.
If the enemy forces swarm in, then... his plan will need to be modified accordingly.
In fact, Leyou had thought of some very whimsical way to easily pass this battle, but he found that he simply couldn't do it.
Even though he had mastered incredibly powerful spells such as "whosyourdaddy" and "greedisgood," Leyou couldn't find where to use these powerful spells after several attempts.
He's missing an Enter key, or something that would allow him to open the chat window and send a friendly greeting to K on the other end.
Leyou dares to guarantee with his integrity that even if a chat box does appear, he will absolutely not type these mysterious incantations into it!
Unfortunately, no matter how much he swore to God, he couldn't find a way to open the chat box. He could only raise his middle finger to express his insignificant respect for the existence of the simulated game world.
This simulated game is completely unrealistic! None of the original features are reproduced!
Of course, despite the complaints, business couldn't be delayed, and soon the enemy launched an attack.
"It was a bit unexpected, but not entirely unexpected."
Instead of swarming forward, Leyou dispatched tough units such as Claw Druids, Knights, and air units to defend against the first wave of attacks, and did not issue any further orders.
This time...not a single demon was seen.
The attacking enemy forces were all undead.
Ghouls, cave demons, gargoyles, and some meat grinders—that's the composition of this wave of enemy troops.
The Scourge, which had ravaged countless kingdoms in the Eastern Kingdoms, arrived in Kalimdor. After being recruited by the demons of the Burning Legion, they were only fit to serve as a vanguard, using their "cheapness" to launch probing attacks.
The Scourge is not weak, but compared to the demons of the Twisting Nether, it is truly no match.
The Cataclysm's characteristic of having an army wherever there are dead is utterly inferior to the Demon's ability to survive outside the Twisting Nether, and its combat power is completely incomparable.
Even so, we must not underestimate these probing troops.
There are quite a few instances where reconnaissance fire directly leads to a decisive battle.
The army of the undead is known for its resilience; after all, the dead feel no pain. Ghouls on the ground, gargoyles in the sky, and cave demons underground—these creatures, reeking of corpses and carrying countless plague germs, launched their charge in silence.
"Warriors! Charge!"
Having just given the order to attack, Jaina rallied her troops and launched the first wave of counterattack.
Both sides appeared aggressive, but they were still in the probing stage. The Scourge army was invincible against ordinary people, but against seasoned veterans who had seen many battles, they could only gain a slight advantage by being fearless and unafraid of pain and death.
However... this world is not simply a medieval world of cold weapons; it is a magical world where all sorts of wondrous powers exist.
As the meat grinder behind the undead army hurled swarms of corpses and rotting flesh, Jaina, who was already prepared, immediately erected a magical barrier to keep out the filth that could cause massive damage to ordinary troops.
The ghouls ahead used their sharp claws to confront the heavily armored knights. Sparks flew as the swords and claws clashed. The numerous ghouls swarmed forward, launching a split attack on the knights. Outnumbered, they gained the upper hand.
But even when separated, the knights were not isolated and helpless.
"Water element! Heed my call!"
At the tip of the ice-blue staff, a dazzling gem shone with magical brilliance. A portal to the water elemental plane was opened, and elemental creatures with water at their core arrived in the prime material plane at Jaina's summons.
Since the body is made of water, how could it be afraid of ordinary weapons?
Even though Jaina is not yet capable of summoning the tides by herself in the future, the water elementals she summoned have temporarily stabilized the situation.
And that's not all.
Now we are a united front of three races, not fighting alone.
"Our ancestors are protecting us!"
"Mother Earth is protecting you!"
Lightning bolts leaped between ghouls and gargoyles, then struck the cave demons and meat grinders behind them, as the elemental shaman, wielding elemental power, joined the battle.
A healing totem landed behind the many knights, and the power from their ancestors healed the knights who, though of different races, were of one heart.
"Elune is calling!"
"Feel the fury of nature!"
In the sky, a phantom owl flew through the forest, then swept past the gargoyles, staining their bodies with specks of green. The next moment, a barrage of arrows was unleashed, piercing through these alchemical creatures that were ravaging the sky.
The gryphon riders soared through the sky, while the skilled archers focused on suppressing the undead army on the ground, and the gryphons beneath them drove away all the enemies in the sky.
In the forest, the trees that have been protected by the druids for thousands of years now rise from the ground at the druids' call, transforming into tree people. With their incredibly thick bodies, they become the most solid defense line for the allied forces.
Soon, with the concerted efforts of the allied forces, the first wave of probing attacks was completely wiped out, and the warriors who retreated to the base were healing their wounds with the help of druids, priests, and shamans.
"This wave was a test... the next wave is hard to say." Le You continued to issue orders to the three-race alliance, showing little joy after repelling the first wave of attacks.
Similar to the game, the initial attacks were just probing, but later each wave of attacks became much stronger than before. In the final moments, the powerful heroes personally joined the battle, influencing the course of the war with their own strength.
Not to mention, there's another guy who can't be ignored.
Akimund... is also K.
His strength alone far surpasses that of all the heroes combined!
The Dreadlord's ultimate skill can summon an incredibly powerful infernal demon from the Twisting Nether, while Archimonde's... ability called Rain of Chaos can summon a horde of infernals!
And this is just one of his minor skills!
His other, even more aggressive offensive skills are countless; his very existence is synonymous with power!
However... none of these are the most terrifying things. After all, no matter how fierce the firepower is, as long as there is enough output, it is still possible to force a kill.
What's truly terrifying is that he's almost invincible...
His special protective mechanism, known as "Holy Armor," allows him to ignore almost all attacks!
The reason it's described as "almost" is because only attacks of the "chaos" category can harm him, and this type is extremely rare.
As for where the most chaotic damage can occur... I'm sorry, that's the Burning Legion's specialty! It's the realm of demons, not a place for ordinary people to set foot in or be tainted by!

The two English phrases I remember most clearly from playing Warcraft 3
The newbie wins the battle by cheating.
Chapter Nine, do you even understand the true value of unleashing an invincible ultimate move?! 5K!
"Heh, that's certainly a powerful force, but does he really think that the power of a cricket is enough to affect my mind?"
"You got away with it last time, but I won't make the same mistake this time!"
"You useless trash, offer your loyalty to the Legion!"
Having gained the authority to act freely, K did not immediately launch an attack. Instead, he gathered all his troops and separated the undead army, sending them out in batches for reconnaissance.
In a typical battlefield, this behavior is practically no different from giving something away for free.
But this is not a battlefield for ordinary people.
For the Burning Legion, the undead army was truly a freebie. Since they were free, it didn't matter if they were sent out. The Legion's demons were ten or even a hundred times stronger than the undead, and the undead were indeed just cannon fodder to them.
Undead are really well-suited as cannon fodder.
Even though they are already dead, they are not afraid of death and pain. The plague and the aura of the dead that they carry are also the earth of the living. As long as they can come into contact with the living, the living cannot get rid of them without suffering losses.
While the mortal army dealt with the dead, Archimonde could confidently continue summoning the Legion's demons from the rear, accumulating strength, gathering intelligence, and laying the groundwork for the final attack.
After realizing that Leyou was not as simple as it seemed, K had made multiple preparations. In this special offensive battle, K chose the simplest and most direct tactic.
One wave of penetration.
They possess immense power, and their subordinates are commanders of legions, who can serve as the sharpest blades, easily breaking through the defenses of the garrison.
And after that... the long-accumulated legion army will not give these defenders any chance.
"Perhaps this restless force will make me irritable... but as long as I can maintain my thinking ability, anger is the best catalyst for power!"
"Just wait... the undead will keep you running around, but the Legion's demons will bury you completely!"
"The World Tree, the Well of Eternity, they will all fall into my hands! I will surpass Sargeras and become the strongest!!!"
Chaotic power flowed within K's body. Beside him, the lich, the abyss lord, and the dreadlord all awaited his instructions with utmost respect.
Icy vapor swirled around the lich, and within its empty skull eye sockets flowed a mystery that no one could fathom.
The Abyss Lord, wielding a massive battle blade, had little on his mind but battle; all he wanted was to go and have a good fight.
The Lord of Dread flapped his bat wings, his scarlet eyes gleaming with all sorts of untold schemes.
As for K, no one knows what he's thinking anymore. His demons, besides continuing to carry out his orders, are left only to wait for more demons to descend.
……
"Damn, did this guy use a cheat code to lose?"
Commanding his heroes to unleash one powerful skill after another, repelling wave after wave of attacking undead armies, Leyou felt that if this continued, his side would soon be unable to hold on.
He now strongly suspects that K may not have followed the original game mechanics at all.
