WTF!
Diana then put away the Lasso of Truth: "The Lasso of Truth can only force people to tell the truth. Of course, it can also be used as a weapon."
"Are you lying?" Carol asked like a curious child.
“No one can lie under the Lasso of Truth, no one,” Diana said with a smile.
"How did you do that? Can it be mass-produced? If so, the Kree warriors will suffer far fewer unnecessary deaths." Carol stared intently at Diana, or more precisely, at the Lasso of Truth that Diana had put away.
Diana simply smiled and said, "If you can find another golden belt from the Earth Goddess and have Vulcan reforge it into the Lasso of Truth for you, otherwise, I don't think this kind of thing can be replicated and mass-produced."
"Of course it's from another world," Diana silently added in her mind.
Looking at other people's gear and then at mine, I can only say I've been completely outclassed. I used to be the one crushing everyone else with my gear.
But Carol kept Diana's words to herself. What if one day she could find the thing she was talking about, and then find the person from Vulcan to build one for the Kree army?
"So you went from being an army colonel to a special agent, your power must be considerable now?" Carol didn't dwell on the difference in their equipment, but instead asked Nick Fury.
Where is Project Pegasus?
Chapter 4 The Cat-Petting Heroine
Joint base of NASA and U.S. Air Force, birthplace of Project Pegasus.
“Take off your flannel shirt.” Nick Fury looked at Carol. Although the rock and roll style was quite nice, it didn’t match the hat with the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo sewn on her head at all.
In Nick Fury's words, she's just like someone's rebellious niece.
Carol's sullen gesture made Diana smile, feeling that Carol at this moment was somewhat similar to herself when she first left Paradise Island.
Carroll seemed to sense Diana's smile and glared at Nick Fury.
The three of them looked down at the airport. Diana showed great interest, while Nick Fury and Carroll had somewhat somber expressions on their faces.
"How can I help you?"
An officer walked over with his guards.
“We are S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.” Nick Fury stepped forward and handed his identification to the officer.
The officer carefully examined Nick Fury's identification, but showed no intention of returning it to him immediately.
“We’re looking for a woman named Lawson. Do you know her?” Carol asked.
“Doctor, Dr. Wendy Lawson,” Nick Fury added.
Just as the two men asked about the matter and mentioned the name, Diana clearly sensed a subtle change in the officer's attitude towards them.
The officer glanced at Nick Fury and Carroll.
"Do you know her?" Carol asked.
The officer paused for a moment, then returned the identification to Nick Fury and said, "Come with me."
Nick Fury and Carroll exchanged a glance and smiled.
"Let's go," Nick Fury called out, turning his attention back to the female fighter jet below.
"Does your S.H.I.E.L.D. have a plane like that?" Diana asked Nick Fury.
"Yes, but not many, since these things aren't officially in production yet," Nick Fury said with a hint of helplessness, looking at the fighter jet that Wonder Woman had been watching closely.
“Okay, I was hoping to get another one from you guys.” Diana shrugged and followed Carol ahead.
Nick Fury could only hurry to keep up with the two of them, since it was better to keep an eye on them at this point.
But things didn't go as Nick Fury had planned.
After the officer led them into a room that resembled a lounge, they were never heard from again.
“Do you know what a welcoming team is?” Nick Fury asked.
“No,” Carol said weakly.
“I’ve seen it, but it doesn’t seem very useful.” Diana looked around at the various items in the room with considerable interest.
“Okay, it’s not very useful, but it’s definitely not like this.” As he spoke, Nick Fury tried to press his hand on the fingerprint lock, and unsurprisingly, it couldn’t be recognized.
Pulling out his pager, Nick Fury began editing a message to tell his superior that he and two targets were currently trapped at Project Pegasus's base.
Diana approached the door and looked at it.
He reached out and yanked the doorknob off. The immense force not only destroyed the lock, but also turned the spherical handle into something resembling putty, with his fingerprints clearly visible on it.
Looking at the door, Diana showed absolutely no emotion, because the door wasn't as sturdy as she had imagined, or rather, not as sturdy as the doors she had previously dismantled.
"So where do we go next?" Diana turned to look at the two of them.
Although Nick Fury was well aware of Wonder Woman's power in the comics, he was still deeply moved by what he saw.
“Go to the fifth basement level; the information I’m looking for should be there.” Carol was already used to it, after all, she had seen people with unconventional powers on the Kree planet before.
Diana clearly had little interest in these things. Although getting involved in them was somewhat interesting, having already perfectly attained godhood, she was no longer interested in many things, except for ice cream.
“Then let’s go quickly,” Nick Fury said to the two women.
The three of them leisurely arrived at the fifth basement level, just like tourists on a sightseeing tour, showing no signs of the tension they had just felt after damaging military facilities.
After all, Nick Fury, the most normal of the three, is also an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and this little thing is completely insignificant to him.
Not to mention that one of the perpetrators is Wonder Woman, and the other is an alien.
"I really don't know what I'm getting involved for," Nick Fury muttered to himself, looking utterly frustrated.
But then they noticed that Diana, who was in front of them, suddenly squatted down, as if there was something noteworthy on the ground.
Nick Fury peeked over and saw an adorable orange cat.
"Oh~ how are you, little guy?" Nick Fury even squatted down, watching Diana petting the orange cat. "Aren't you the cutest little guy?"
He reached out to pet the orange cat, but Diana picked it up before he could even get a chance.
“Okay, okay. It’s yours.” Nick Fury shrugged, but still looked at the orange cat in Diana’s arms, and saw the name tag on the cat’s gait. “Coo-coo, oh, cool cat with a cool name.”
Diana completely ignored Nick Fury's meaning and walked over to Carol with the cat in her arms.
“Frey?” Carroll looked at Nick Fury, who looked dejected, and shook his head, indicating that he should follow him.
The room in front of the three was the archives.
Carol raised her right hand and unleashed a photon cannon that melted the door lock, then raised an eyebrow at Diana.
"By the way, this is how you prove I'm not a Skrull—the photon cannon is impossible to replicate." Carol took the lead and pushed open the door to the archives.
Nick Fury glanced at Carol, then at Diana, who was happily petting the cat, and could only open his mouth helplessly, wanting to say something, but in the end it all turned into a long sigh.
“ε=('ο`*))) Sigh.”
At this moment, the female warrior had no time to think about him, after all, the orange cat she was holding was the infamous Flerken.
If not now, when?
Not everyone is lucky enough to get their hands on a Flerken.
Carroll has finally found the file of Dr. Wendy Lawson that she has been searching for.
"Frey, I found it."
Nick Fury heard this and walked over quickly without delay.
Diana stood quietly at the door of the archives room, holding Gugu. Since she already knew most of the plot, she might as well pet the cat.
The Flerken is really awesome.
Seeing Nick Fury hurriedly leave the archives, Diana understood that he had probably contacted his unfortunate boss again.
That is, Keller, who is now a Skrull.
"The story is coming to an end." Diana muttered to herself, staring into the little orange cat's eyes. "Hopefully, the Kree fleet won't cause any trouble."
“I’m not Carol.”
Chapter 5 You can actually fly?
Seeing Nick Fury rushing towards her, Diana knew that he now understood that his unfortunate boss had been replaced by the Skrulls.
“Where are the Furs?” Nick Fury asked Diana.
“Firth? That so-called Kree? She made a phone call.” Diana smiled as she looked at Nick Fury, who was covered in sweat. The future king of secret agents was in such a sorry state. It was a pity there was no camera or anything like that, otherwise Diana believed that Fury would definitely buy up this embarrassing moment in the future.
"Damn it, I made a mistake..."
Before Nick Fury could finish speaking, he saw Diana hand him the cuckoo from her arms.
“Take care of my cat, then go find Firth.” Diana took off her suit jacket, revealing the close-fitting armor underneath.
"Don't you guys feel uncomfortable wearing this kind of thing under your clothes every day?" Nick Fury had always had this question, after all, Superman also reveals his Superman suit when he takes off his coat.
Diana glanced at Nick Fury: "My everyday attire on Paradise Island is all sorts of bodysuits, don't you think?"
Nick Fury was about to say something when Wonder Woman waved him off.
“You’d better hurry, I hear people coming. You went with that Kree guy, so you’ve probably been identified as a target too.” Diana could clearly hear the agents talking in the corridor.
"Okay." Without saying another word, Nick Fury picked up Gugu and ran off in the other direction.
He did consider asking Diana what to do, but when he thought about her outrageous performance in the comics, he decided he shouldn't hold Wonder Woman back.
Once Diana realized that Nick Fury had likely reunited with Carol, she completely let her guard down.
The only person we need to be careful about is that Skrull.
The agents pushed open the door to the fifth basement level and naturally saw Diana standing against the wall in the corridor. They couldn't help but point their guns at the strangely dressed woman in front of them, since not everyone reads comics.
"Those little toys you're holding are useless." The female warrior smiled as she looked at their tense expressions. She admired this attitude; it was undoubtedly commendable for a warrior.
But for secret agents, it's not necessarily the same.
After all, without knowing the other party's strength, such an attitude will only further escalate the conflict between the two sides.
A man in a suit with blue eyes walked out, looking at Diana with a great sense of crisis.
The woman seemed to possess a power within her capable of destroying the world.
