Once seated at the dining table, Diana naturally began to enjoy her meal.

Winston remained calm and composed, observing everything as if he had transcended worldly desires and ambitions.

Antonio, on the other hand, was clearly different from Winston. Although he also made no move, the dissatisfaction in his eyes was obvious.

He was probably not used to Winston's way of doing things; he had never been treated this way before when he was acting as the proxy.

Diana calmly ate her meal in small bites, occasionally glancing at Winston and the other man's different expressions.

When Diana put down her empty bowl, half an hour had already passed.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," Diana said to Winston, wiping her mouth.

Winston shook his head: "It's alright, watching a beautiful lady dine elegantly is a pleasure in itself."

Diana had a decent impression of Winston; at least he wasn't someone you'd dislike, and no one would suspect him of being the manager of a killer hotel.

He would only be seen as an elegant old gentleman.

“Now, we can discuss this matter.” Diana sat down on the sofa with Gugu in her arms, gesturing for Winston to sit on the other sofa.

Winston nodded and sat down.

“Before you arrived, I had already roughly figured out why this child was in my room,” Diana said directly after Winston sat down. “You could say this has nothing to do with you; it’s just that some clueless old man wanted to see me.”

“Thank you for your understanding.” Winston nodded in thanks. “The Continental Hotel will compensate you for the loss caused, but we probably can’t find a second bottle of the wine in your collection.”

When Winston entered Diana's house, he saw the bar covered in empty bottles. To be honest, even the Continental Hotel in New York couldn't produce that many good bottles.

This clearly shows how much Tony invested in buying this apartment, even though it was just a drop in the ocean for him.

Diana waved her hand. "I don't care about those so-called fine wines. I've never been interested in that kind of thing." Diana glanced at the bottles. "The bottles are quite nice, though."

"So what is there that we can do for you?" Diana's attitude toward the wines made Winston realize that things were getting complicated; not wanting compensation meant there was more to come.

Diana looked Winston straight in the eye: “I need you to inform the High Table that Wilson Fisk is my spokesperson, and I want them to understand what I mean.”

“Definitely.” Winston nodded. When Diana mentioned Fisk’s name, he understood that this was a subversion of the High Table.

No one can stop this upheaval from happening; all they can do is find the right team in advance.

“That’s all. You can take the child away.” Diana believed Winston understood what she meant and trusted that the shrewd manager would make the right choice.

Winston gestured for the two men he had brought to leave with the man, then stood up, extended his hand to Diana, and said, "Thank you. I look forward to seeing you again."

Diana did not get up, but simply shook hands with Winston lightly without saying anything more.

Winston tipped his hat to Diana again before catching up with the others who had left earlier.

Rewinding to the time after Diana severed the connection between Zeus and his agent, Zeus, far away in the realm of the gods in Olympus, had already discovered this.

As Zeus rose from that lavish bed, his face expressionless, reflecting on the final moment when his consciousness was erased.

As he stood up, his golden armor slowly emerged from his body. Zeus's face, which had a somewhat benevolent look, was not filled with resentment for having his will easily erased by Diana, but rather with an indescribable emotion.

“Not my daughter…” Zeus said as he walked out of his palace.

On the bed behind him lay several beautiful women, their bodies barely concealed by the thin sheet.

Zeus had now reached the top of the hall, and standing before him was his son, Heracles, one of the greatest heroes of Greece.

"Father God," Hercules bowed to Zeus.

“You haven’t seen the Earth in a long time,” Zeus said to his son.

“Yes, Father. We haven’t seen that planet since we left that star system.” Hercules’ voice carried a longing for the past, the place where he finally became a true member of the current Olympian pantheon.

"So now you have your chance."

Hercules's previously somber mood was completely shattered by Zeus's words, and he asked excitedly, "Really? Father, can I really go back and take a look?"

Hercules looked up at the figure on the throne.

“Yes, my child, you can return to Earth now, but…” Zeus paused deliberately.

"What's wrong, Father?" Hercules was somewhat flustered. Although the Olympian realm was indeed a place that people would linger in, even a god would not be able to endure living in such a place for thousands of years.

Since fulfilling their pact with Odin, no one has returned to Earth to witness the changes in the Olympian pantheon.

Now that there's a place where I can return to my origins, I naturally don't want any problems to arise.

"You need to bring someone back."

“No problem.” Hercules didn’t care who it was, as long as he could go back and see Earth, it was fine.

Zeus raised his hand, and a figure constructed of divine power appeared in his palm: "Bring her back."

Hercules stared blankly at the figure in Zeus's palm. The figure was constructed with such exquisite detail by Zeus that Hercules could even see the individual strands of the figure's long hair.

“Bring her to Olympus.”

“Yes, Father God.” Hercules bowed to Zeus, then took one last look at the female figure in Zeus’s hand before leaving the hall to prepare for his journey to Earth.

Zeus, looking at the model of Diana's divine power in his hand, said: "You will still return to Olympus; you cannot escape."

Chapter 56 Subpoena from the Ministry of Defense

No one knows that in the distant universe, a god is about to travel to Earth. The world we live in is still one that ordinary people can understand. After all, mutants are no longer a threat to humanity, and there are no crimes that defy the imagination of ordinary people.

Although there is now an organization that supposedly deals with supernatural events, when no supernatural crimes occur, this organization is just like a secret service to the general public.

Perhaps it's just something that can be occasionally used as a topic of conversation during leisure time.

But for Nick Fury, who had just returned to Earth, this was truly a case of misfortune piling upon misfortune. He knew all too well how dangerous this world was. Now, Diana was announcing to the entire nation that Hydra was lurking within S.H.I.E.L.D.

They even turned Tony Stark into a member of their independent so-called Insight Team. Although this playboy wasn't a necessary member of the Avengers, it was clear that Diana's Insight Team would no longer have to worry about money-related troubles.

Just thinking about all these troublesome things was giving Nick Fury a huge headache.

"Good luck." Howard reverted to his Skrull form, patted Nick Fury on the shoulder, and boarded the stealth spaceship that had accompanied Nick Fury to Earth.

"Mazefak!" Nick Fury never imagined that things would develop into such an almost irreversible situation in less than a year since he left Earth.

Now Nick Fury's first task is to deal with those bigwigs on the council.

As I stepped off the rooftop, I saw Coulson looking at me with a nervous expression.

“I’m not that fragile. I went up to the rooftop just to think things through better.” Nick Fury walked past Coulson with his hands behind his back. “It will all be over.”

Two weeks later...

"I really didn't expect that they would dare to issue you a subpoena before they've even dealt with Hydra." Playing with the subpoena in her hand, Diana genuinely wondered if the people in the U.S. Department of Defense were brainless, rushing to mess with Tony before even cleaning up their own internal affairs.

Nick Fury's powerful return, while unable to reverse S.H.I.E.L.D.'s decline, undeniably demonstrates that as a top-tier agent leader, he has gone to great lengths to stabilize the organization.

The entire S.H.I.E.L.D. has shrunk by nearly a third, but the direct consequence is that S.H.I.E.L.D. can now only draw on those young people who have not yet graduated from its own agent academy to serve as fresh troops.

But that also meant there was no time to bother Diana and Tony's observers.

However, just because S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't mean that other departments don't have the energy to cause them trouble, such as the U.S. Department of Defense, which underwent a major overhaul previously.

Tony was banging on the old car he'd smashed during his first test flight: "That wasn't just a summons for me, it was for you too."

Diana unfolded the summons, and sure enough, her name was on it.

"So what should we do?" Tony calmly tidied the parts in his hands.

Diana paid no attention to Tony's presence, and stretched casually, revealing her smooth and muscular abdomen like a sudden glimpse of spring sunshine.

“If I didn’t know what kind of person you are, I would definitely think you’re interested in me.” Tony pointed at Diana with the screwdriver in his hand.

Diana was completely immune to Tony's words: "I don't like men shorter than me."

"Shit!" Tony was completely taken aback by Diana's words. "Please, don't mention my height again, okay?"

“OK.” Diana smiled and brought up the subpoena again. “What do you think I should do? How about I fly over and completely revive the U.S. Department of Defense?”

Tony was taken aback, but he couldn't tell from Diana's face that she was joking with him.

"You don't really mean this, do you?" Tony seemed to be seeing this five-thousand-year-old ageless doll for the first time.

Diana rested her chin on her hand, as if she were genuinely considering the feasibility of this method.

"Hmm, what I'm saying is, if you actually do that, we'll probably all become wanted criminals." Tony was quite worried that this woman might impulsively kill off the entire U.S. Department of Defense, and the only result of doing so would be becoming an enemy of humanity.

"Why not just change the ruling party in America?" Diana seemed to be talking about a trivial matter that didn't need to be taken seriously.

Tony was confused, but upon closer reflection, Diana's words seemed to make sense. With Diana's abilities, she could easily plow through the entire United States without taking much time.

Diana hadn't expected Tony to actually be thinking about this: "Looks like someone is really thinking about this!"

"No! No! No!" Tony realized what absurd things he had been thinking about after being interrupted by Diana, but coming from Diana's mouth, they didn't seem so absurd. "I wasn't thinking about anything, nothing at all! OK?"

"Okay." Diana acknowledged Tony's words.

Tony was about to continue his work when he still couldn't shake the feeling of insecurity and looked up at Diana, asking, "You really can't do this?"

"Just kidding, don't be nervous." Diana waved her hand at Tony, indicating that he could rest assured, after all, she wouldn't do something so despicable.

Kill a bunch of ordinary people who don't know their place in the world.

“You really can’t, right?” Tony emphasized to Diana again.

Diana had never seen Tony Stark like this before: "Don't worry, okay. I'm not that bored."

Tony was about to speak when he saw Diana pointing at him.

"I swear, if you keep talking about that stuff, I'll really go and twist their heads off and use them as a football." Diana finished speaking and quickly left Tony's workspace, really not wanting to be with this person anymore.

Seeing Diana flee his workspace as if escaping, Tony could only shrug helplessly. It wasn't surprising he reacted that way; after all, the way Diana had seemed to be deep in thought made it hard to believe she truly had such ideas.

“I think you really should keep an eye on that guy down there.” Diana watched Pepper, dressed in a black dress, handling Stark Industries affairs.

Pepper put down her work and said to Diana, "That's just the kind of person he is. I don't think I can control my boss."

Diana tilted her head and looked at Pepper: "Boss?"

Diana's gaze made Pepper feel uneasy. Pepper felt completely exposed: "Isn't that right? He's my boss, I'm his assistant, it's that simple."

“Alright, let’s leave it at that.” Diana looked away. “I’ll head back to New York first. Remember to remind that guy down there that he has to go to Washington tomorrow for the Pentagon’s so-called audit of us.”

“I will,” Pepper replied to Diana with a smile.

Diana floated toward the large hole that Tony had created during his test of the Mark II.

“And Pepper,” Diana said, floating between the two holes, “I can tell whether you’re telling the truth or not. Don’t forget, I’m Wonder Woman.”
