Ark Undead

But Changyin frowned; he seemed to have just caught a glimpse of a dark figure outside the window.

Is it just my imagination?

Right between the two rooms, a girl dressed in black and red was wedged in a crack in the wall, using her feet to brace herself against the corner of the wall.

She heard the voices inside, and also the conversation between the two people.

That's normal, but she still caught a glimpse of that figure just now. It was the team member she was tracking when she was tracking the target. Their attire also confirmed their identities.

The Reunion Movement is nothing but a rabble. Apart from a small elite force under the leadership, it's all a horde of refugees and infected mobs. They're lucky to even have clothes to wear, let alone such sophisticated equipment.

Within Chernobog now, no other faction possesses such well-organized and professional combat attire. There's no other possibility besides those from Rhodes Island.

In other words, those hiding here are indeed from Rhodes Island.

What a coincidence! Both groups of infected people from Rhodes Island and Azazel's Clinic are hiding in this small hotel.

As she pondered whether it was just a coincidence, she prepared to turn around and move closer to the other room, hoping to hear if anyone was talking inside.

But the moment she turned her head, her entire body stiffened at what she saw, and the flippant expression on her face instantly froze as she stared at the figure that appeared in front of the window.

Half of his body leaned out of the window, hovering steadily in mid-air—it was a suit of steel armor. But the eyes hidden behind the armor, and the fact that his presence was completely imperceptible, rendered the girl momentarily incapable of thought.

How long has he been watching me? Why haven't I been able to sense even a trace of his presence?!

Just as the girl's body instinctively began to move, intending to run first, the armor made a sound.

"Come in, have a seat?"

Having no choice whatsoever, the girl had already realized the enormous gap in strength between herself and the person in front of her.

She had absolutely no memory or information about this person in her mind.

In that instant, she realized something.

The ice fields outside Chernobog...

Aren't you coming in?

The armor seemed to be displeased with the girl's behavior, and it reached out its hand.

"Come on, you're all here. So, don't leave."

...

The campfire burned, and the undead sat quietly in front of it, his greatsword leaning against the wall beside him.

Bloodthorn was still snoring in bed, as if what had just happened had nothing to do with him, and it was unclear how long he would sleep.

The Undead Man himself took the firewood he had gotten from the shopkeeper, broke it in two, and threw it into the fire in front of him.

Right beside the campfire, next to the Undead, a girl bound by ropes stared wide-eyed at the Undead, occasionally glancing menacingly at Bloodthorn, who was sleeping on the bed next to her.

Yes, she was tied up.

The girl simply didn't have the ability to escape.

The immortal had heard the commotion long ago, and not just heard it. He had sensed it as soon as the girl approached him; he knew a guest had arrived, and one who liked to take the unconventional route.

So, the immortal lowered his voice, went to the bedside, and peeked out, watching the girl slowly turn over from the other side. Finally, between his room and the room next door where Changyin and the others were, she turned her head and saw him.

The immortals could even see the girl's eyelashes tremble instantly when she realized his presence, and the two tufts of red hair on her head that almost stood up.

Without much effort, the immortal jumped out of the window and subdued the girl in a few moves.

The girl tried to run, but her skills were like those of an adult compared to an ant in front of the immortals.

After all, her forte isn't direct combat.

So, after the Undead brought her back to the room, Bloodthorn rubbed his eyes and suggested tying up the girl of unknown origin with a rope.

At first, the Undead didn't seem to care. But after Bloodthorn removed some ornaments from a few inconspicuous corners of her body, the Undead nodded in agreement.

All those ornaments were made of explosives; none of them were simply decorative.

The immortal asked with some confusion.

"You know her?"

"I don't know her, but who among the wandering Sarkaz hasn't heard of her name?"

Bloodthorn glanced at the girl beside her who was glaring at her fiercely, gave her a hearty smile, and patted the girl's shoulder.

"Don't worry, as long as you behave, the two of us will absolutely not do anything to you!"

"Tying up young girls in their prime is your way of treating guests?"

The girl replied jokingly, mocking Bloodthorn.

But Bloodthorn shook his head and sat back down on the bed.

"You're no ordinary girl, and... you're only sixteen? Don't be ridiculous. When I was still a teenager, you were already famous in Kazdel. It's better to be honest."

Bloodthorn seemed to have a wealth of experience in verbal sparring, even managing to deliver a sarcastic retort to the girl's insults.

Then I quickly fell asleep and have been in this state ever since.

Campfire, men, women, bondage.

Amidst the crackling sounds of burning, the girl began to contemplate her escape strategy.

But before that, she still planned to learn more information.

"A campfire lit in the house, along with your old-fashioned armor. Who would have thought that a knight of Kazimierz, who always valued honor, would one day abandon the spirit of chivalry?"

Based on the undead's actions, the girl deduced that he was a knight from Kazimierz. And weren't those knights always known to cherish their feathers above all else?

To her surprise, the man only glanced at the girl before turning back to break off his own firewood.

He showed absolutely no intention of speaking to her.

"So you brought me back, and used ropes to make me show off my alluring body curves, just to let me warm myself by the fire?"

The girl decided to intensify her verbal offensive; she was determined to at least get the man to speak and respond to her!

"I've heard that the knights of Kazimierz enjoy special rewards, such as money, fame, and women. Do you have a similar penchant?"

She began to use her understanding of him to provoke him, determined to get this seemingly wooden man to say a word to her.

After several minutes of verbal barrage, the girl finally saw the man raise his head.

The man, completely covered in armor, looked at the girl in front of him with a questioning gaze.

"The immortal asked curiously."

"You've been talking so much, aren't you thirsty?"

"Ah, there's no need for your concern, Your Excellency Knight—I could talk like this all day without getting tired, but you..."

Before she could speak, she saw the man in front of her nod, then lower his head and continue breaking the wood.

"Then, you can continue."

"you!"

She had thought her verbal offensive had worked, but to her surprise, the man showed no sign of annoyance.

The girl had completely gone down the wrong path; the thing that immortals fear least is someone talking to them.

After all, in the midst of endless loneliness, it's not easy to find someone who enjoys talking so much.

Moreover, the Undying Man is a notorious conversation killer. If you want to chat with him, you should first be prepared to calm your high blood pressure, otherwise you will definitely be the one who suffers in the end.

The girl, having been rebuffed once, carefully examined the undead's armor with her crimson eyes, which darted around twice before she finally asked a question.

"Aren't you curious about my name? What I do for a living? What am I doing here? Why am I outside your room window? Don't you want to know at all?"

The girl seemed to have hit the nail on the head. The undead threw the firewood he had broken in two into the campfire, then raised his head again to look at the girl.

He followed up on the girl's words and asked.

"What's your name?"

"Hehe, I won't tell you unless you want to..."

The girl's words were interrupted again. The Undead turned his head to look at Bloodthorn, who had become a useless knight, on the bed, and asked.

"Bloodthorn, what's her name?"

I thought Bloodthorn was asleep, but then Bloodthorn's lazy voice drifted out from the bed again.

"Her name is W, and she's a Sarkaz mercenary."

After he finished speaking, snoring quickly resumed on the bed. It was as if Bloodthorn's answer had just been talking in his sleep.

After receiving the reply, the Undead turned his head and looked at the girl named W in front of him.

He spoke calmly and sincerely.

"Your name is W. You are a mercenary."

After saying that, the immortal lowered his head again and stopped talking.

W stared in disbelief as the two of them exchanged a few words like they were performing a comedy routine, and then returned to their original state as undead.

She took a deep breath and felt her blood pressure rise considerably.

W realized that everything she had done was in vain; no one was interested in anything she had said so far.

That's interesting. If they weren't interested in anything she said, why arrest her?

Shouldn't we have just killed her with one stroke? What's the point of keeping her alive?

After thinking it over, W spoke.

"I want to see Scout."

"Scout is out. He's not here."

The Undead said, taking another piece of firewood and rubbing it in his hand.

W was overjoyed; this person had finally said something that wasn't just empty talk!

But in an instant, W felt a strong sense of frustration. In the past, she was the one who used words to make others angry and experience strong emotional fluctuations.

But the man in front of her, with just a few words, made her blood pressure rise and even bring her an inappropriate sense of joy.

Now that his relationship with Scout was confirmed, W was too lazy to waste any more words on this man.
