'Then proceed according to plan! I'll hold him off with all my might, while you destroy the entire Muspelheim.'
"I understand. Although abandoning the Ice Casket is a pity, it's worth it to exchange it for the life of a Heavenly Father... Give me your all to hold off Surtr for at least five minutes."
'…Holy crap, that's taken way too long!'
'It's urgent! If I weren't worried about being discovered by those behind the scenes, I'd like to hurry even more...'
'Let me make it clear beforehand, I'll leave immediately if things don't look good!'
……
Through telepathic communication, the two quickly exchanged ideas. The power of the Heavenly Father did indeed exceed their expectations, but that wasn't a problem, because all the artifacts they brought were powerful enough to threaten him. Among them, the two Infinity Stones were the main force in the battle against Surtur; otherwise, without the support of the two Infinity Stones, both Ciel and Loki would be utterly defeated against Surtur.
The other two items, the Destroyer Armor and the Frozen Box, can also pose a threat to Surtr, but they are weaker than the two Infinity Stones. However, if sacrificing one of them can bring down Surtr, then it would still be a worthwhile trade.
"You burrowing rats, I've found you!" Just as Ciel and Loki finished their exchange, Surtur roared from outside, his flaming head looking directly at the illusory space where the two were. Then, the King of Fire raised the Twilight Sword once more, slashing down with the force of a thunderbolt towards the illusory space where the two were hiding.
'Oh no!' x2
Space shattered. The instant Surtr swung his Twilight Sword, a dark spatial rift appeared directly in the path of his sword strike. This spatial rift, accompanied by a mirror-like fragmentation of space, split Muspelheim in two.
Fortunately, before that, Ciel and Loki had already left the illusory space and appeared in reality. However, even though they dodged Surtr's slash that shattered and tore through space, they couldn't escape the second attack.
"Die! Under the sword of twilight, meet the end of the world..."
As Surtr roared, his second slash locked onto Ciel and Loki, who had escaped the illusory space, and then struck. Realizing that Surtr had locked onto their tracks with divine power, the two had no choice but to simultaneously confront him.
"Projection to begin!"
As the power of the Reality Stone manifested, a long sword appeared in Ciel's hand. Ciel grabbed the scabbard with his left hand and held it horizontally at his side, while his other hand gripped the hilt—and then drew the sword and slashed!
【Yan Magic Knife】-【Infinite Dimension Chop】
263. Dimensional Slash
The Yan Magic Knife is not a weapon from the Marvel universe, but rather Vergil's primary melee weapon from the Devil May Cry series. It is an heirloom of Sparda, the father of Dante and Vergil. Sparda passed the Blade of Rebellion to Dante, while the Yan Magic Knife to Vergil. This blade is incredibly sharp, cutting through iron like mud, slaying demons as easily as mowing grass, and even capable of cleaving space, separating light (the human world) from darkness (the demon world).
His signature move is the incredibly cool Dimensional Slash.
Of course, this isn't a weapon that should appear in Marvel either. However, with the Infinity Stones' enhancement, the projection magic is instantly overpowered. In Ciel's hands, this projection magic is enough to annihilate all previous users in the Type-Moon universe. Even the red-haired and white-haired characters, who seem to have been given special advantages, would have to admit defeat in terms of projection magic. Ciel simply used the power of the stones to forcibly modify the rules based on his memories and understanding, imbuing illusions with reality and materializing them.
It has to be said that the Infinity Stones with GM privileges are truly awesome. No wonder Thanos, who later collected all the Infinity Stones and embedded them into the Infinity Gauntlet, was so incredibly powerful that he could easily defeat a whole bunch of cosmic gods.
Now, with the power of just two Infinity Stones, Ciel has materialized a supernatural weapon that shouldn't exist, directly from his own memories, and it completely possesses and even surpasses the power of the original. This is a victory for the bootleg world, a victory for Sicalo over the city management, a victory for the Imperial Heavy Armored Corps... Wait, how did something strange get mixed in?
cough cough...
To be honest, when facing Surtr, Sharl always felt extremely frustrated. It wasn't for any other reason than that his original strengths in destruction magic were completely ineffective against Surtr. The warlock's destruction magic system is essentially based on 'fire' spells, differing from mages only in that it incorporates fel energy and shadow power.
However, Surtr is the king of fire giants, a master of fire. Even the aftershocks of Surtr's attack far exceeded the range of [Rain of Fire], and its power was several levels greater. It's fair to say that against Surtr, one of Sharl's most proficient fire spells was rendered useless. While flames imbued with fel energy or shadow power could still affect Surtr, his magic resistance wasn't as negative as Superman's; he could easily negate them.
Then there's the curse spell. After testing it, Charles sadly discovered that while the curse spells he currently possesses might be invincible against enemies below the god level, and even quite effective against pseudo-god level planetary gods, they would be significantly less effective. The magic power consumed by curse spells is less than that of using destructive spells with the same amount of magic power! Therefore, if it's this ineffective against planetary gods, Charles doesn't expect curse spells to be able to deal with the Heavenly Father God, who is far above planetary gods.
Unless one day Ciel is able to gain his own authority from the curse.
As for the most common summoning magic, a wave of the hand and a horde of minions can certainly be very satisfying. But that's basically just stomping on weaklings... Ciel has no doubt that when facing Surtur, the Father God, his minions would be blasted to smithereens in no time. After all, even Ciel, wielding two Infinity Stones, is barely qualified to fight Surtur.
Streaks of silvery-white blade light flashed in the void—one strike, ten strikes, a hundred strikes, a thousand strikes, ten thousand strikes… This bootleg version, surpassing the original, displayed an off-the-charts performance, with countless silvery-white blade lights appearing in the sky. Each strike was a dimensional slash that tore through space, each strike capable of easily severing the vast majority of matter in the world.
However, these countless dimensional slashes merely neutralized Surtur's attack. Each of these blades, enough to instantly kill an Iron Man and easily defeat the Hulk, were nonetheless reduced to a draw against Heavenfather-Surtur.
(PS: Don't say the author is deliberately belittling Hulk; in fact, Hulk isn't as strong as portrayed. During World War Hulk, Hulk did single-handedly defeat almost all the superheroes and ultimately fought Sentry to a standstill. However, don't forget that Sentry had to expend a great deal of energy suppressing his secondary personality, Void, and Sentry didn't intend to kill Hulk; he simply engaged Hulk in hand-to-hand combat, exhausting all of Hulk's energy and strength to bring him back to his rational self, Banner. Furthermore, after the Chaos War, Hulk and the Hulk family went to Mount Olympus, but were brutally beaten by Zeus, the Father God. He was even imprisoned and was only rescued by Hercules.)
The Infinite Dimensional Slash, while blocking Surtr's sword strike that was powerful enough to tear space apart, also exhausted all its power. Its only result was a wound left on the fist of Surtr's hand that held the Twilight Sword. However, the wound healed instantly the next moment.
Seeing this, Ciel's face darkened. Even with two Infinity Stones, Thor was still struggling against Surtr, the Father God. This made Ciel very curious about just how much of a power-up Thor later possessed, ultimately becoming able to rival Surtr and even shatter the Twilight Sword in the final battle.
As expected of Marvel? Whoever uses cheat codes is the most awesome!
Surte, whose sword strike had been deflected, swung his sword again with even greater speed. This time, flames spread across the entire blade, and then he slashed down once more with a deafening explosion.
Faced with Surtr's second attack, Loki, clad in the Destroyer Armor, hurriedly manipulated the Destroyer to extend its hands. A beam of energy, imbued with extreme cold, surged from the Destroyer's hands, beginning to neutralize Surtr's flames. Immediately afterward, Ciel once again sheathed his sword and sidestepped, unleashing another Infinite Dimensional Slash.
After blocking Surtr's attack, the two hurriedly retreated and used their flying abilities to soar into the sky. Then, they flew off in two different directions.
"You think running away will work?" Surt's roar echoed throughout Muspelheim. "Since you have the guts to challenge the King of Flames, the God of Doomsday, then use your lives to atone for your disrespect for the rulers of Muspelheim!"
"Die in the flames, you insects!"
Surtur pointed at Sharl, and a massive ball of flame appeared out of thin air, exploding violently and engulfing the unsuspecting Sharl in light and heat. Then, Surtur turned his gaze to the Destroyer hurtling off in another direction. Compared to the wizards wielding the Aether, in Surtur's eyes, Loki, who possessed and was using the Ice Box, posed a greater threat. After all, Surtur hadn't even considered the Dark Elves a threat when they obtained the Aether, let alone now!
So Surtr swung the Twilight Blade once more, aiming it at Loki, who was controlling the Destroyer Armor as it sped away.
264. Gae Bog, the Spear of Greed
The Twilight Sword swept across the sky, slashing down towards the Destroyer. Surtr's powerful strength once again condensed into a terrifying energy sword light that tore open the sky and fell towards the Destroyer, then cleaved the Destroyer directly down from the sky.
However, Surte was far from satisfied with this result. The sword light hadn't shattered the Destroyer as he'd hoped; it had merely knocked the Destroyer's armor down from the sky. The only damage it caused was to leave cracks all over the armor's surface. Surte could sense that when his attack struck the armor, the silver-gray armor had undergone a strange change, becoming resistant to Surte's power. Moreover, at the moment it was knocked down, the Destroyer's aura intensified even further.
The Destroyer, which had crashed heavily to the ground, rose again, the cracks in its body rapidly healing. It must be said that the Destroyer's adaptability was truly astonishing. Initially, it suffered terribly against Surtr's attacks, even without being directly hit. Now, however, the Destroyer's armor itself had begun to develop resistance to the power of Surtr, the Heavenly Father, and combined with the divine power of the Ice Casket, Loki had indeed directly blocked an attack from a Heavenly Father.
Of course, this didn't make him happy. In fact, even with the Destroyer Armor on the outside and the Ice Box protecting him, Loki hadn't felt any relief from Surtr's attack. If he hadn't been completely hidden inside the Destroyer Armor, shielding him from all detection, anyone could have seen Loki's pathetic state as he coughed up blood.
'Hurry and stop that giant! Otherwise I'll be hacked to death!'
As Loki managed to stand up while controlling the Destroyer Armor, he shouted into the telepathic communication.
"I want to too! But I just got hit in the face by a fireball!" Charles's slightly frustrated voice came through the telepathic communication.
"So what? When that idiot Thor fought me, he swung Mjolnir straight at my face! And I wasn't even scarred!"
'No, that's not the point... The point is that I used to be the one throwing fireballs at people, but today is the first time someone has thrown one at my face.'
'Then go ahead and fight back, you idiot!'
……
The two were arguing fiercely in their telepathic communication, while outside, Surtur, seeing the Destroyer rise from the ground again, snorted coldly, gripped the Twilight Sword, and strode towards the Destroyer's armor with his massive body. Although he didn't know why his attack hadn't worked, that didn't matter; if one attack wasn't enough, he'd just try again.
"Projection to begin!"
Just as Surt was about to step forward to finish him off, a familiar voice rang out behind him, startling Surt. It was the wizard who manipulated the aether particles, but hadn't he just been engulfed in flames? What happened?
The King of Flames turned around abruptly. Right behind him, the wizard who had been engulfed by his fire bombardment was hovering in the same spot. Although he seemed unharmed, he was clearly in a sorry state after withstanding Surt's attack.
However, at this moment, the wizard, holding an ominous crimson spear, was making a throwing motion and aiming it at Surt.
【GAE BOLG, the Spear of Greed】
The crimson spear in his hand emitted a blood-red glow. Then, with all his might, he gripped the Gaeberg in his hand and hurled the spear, which originated from Cú Chulainn, the Son of Light in Celtic mythology, directly at Surtr.
Not the Reversal of Cause and Effect Spear that can never kill anyone because of its E-rank luck, but the cursed magic spear mentioned in legends that "when fired at an enemy, it will unleash an attack of countless arrows."
Similarly, this is a pirated copy! A treasure that should only exist in the Type-Moon world, with the power of the Reality Stone and the Mind Stone, the two Infinity Stones, is once again demonstrated by the Sicario Piracy Group, proving that pirates are capable of defeating city management officials.
Gajeberg transformed into a red meteor and rushed towards Surt. In mid-air, the red meteor split into 30 streams of light, which flowed from all directions toward the King of Flames.
Facing the demonic spear hurled by Ciel, Surtr roared and met it with his Twilight Sword, unleashing a powerful sweep that cleaved half of the stream of light in mid-air. Furthermore, under Surtr's divine power, the severed light was instantly incinerated, turning to dust. However, there was another half that Surtr couldn't intercept. While his massive size granted him immense strength, it also made him slightly slower than Ciel and Loki. Even though he intercepted half of Gaeberg's attack, the other half still struck Surtr heavily.
Boom! Boom! Boom!... A series of explosions rang out from Surt's body as the hurled Gaeberg exploded like a barrage of missiles against his mountain-like frame. Unfortunately, even the demigod hero's magic spear only left shallow bloodstains on Surt's body, and the impact of the explosions merely caused him to stagger back a few steps.
That was enough. After being bombarded relentlessly, Surtr angrily threw off his Destroyer Armor and swung his sword down at the Shire. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Loki quickly maneuvered his Destroyer Armor from the ground into the sky, then broke through the clouds and flew into the cosmos.
The Destroyer armor soared into the sky and quickly broke through the heavens, entering space. After flying at high speed for a distance, Loki stopped, controlling the Destroyer to face Muspelheim.
From outer space, Muspelheim appears as a desolate planet perpetually shrouded in flames. However, it is not a planet. As mentioned before, unlike Jotunheim, Muspelheim, like Asgard, is not a world with a planetary structure, but rather a so-called flat, earth-shattering alternate dimension. However, unlike Asgard, Muspelheim exists in a dimension that is not limited to this one world, but is also connected to other alternate dimensions, such as Hell of the Dead.
But precisely because of this, in terms of stability, Muspelheim is no match for a planet. In fact, the energy Surte had previously released was enough to scorch a planet. The reason it hadn't destroyed Muspelheim was entirely because, while exerting its own power, Surte also had to allocate a portion of its energy to maintain this world.
In other words, Surt, who is connected to Muspelheim, will also be affected if Muspelheim is destroyed by external forces.
Hovering in space, looking down at Muspelheim, Loki didn't hesitate and pulled the Ice Casket back from his fusion. The Destroyer's massive arm grasped the Ice Casket, and then, in the next moment, the Destroyer's own golden energy began to flow into the Ice Casket in his hand.
265. Piracy must not stop.
As the Destroyer armor channeled its light energy into the Ice Box, Loki similarly channeled his divine power into this artifact of Jotunheim. Then, with a click, the Ice Box slowly opened, releasing an even more terrifying surge of cold and energy. Even Loki, protected by the Destroyer armor, was momentarily stunned by this icy divine power.
The Casket of Ice is powerful; otherwise, even Odin, the Father, would have had to pay a heavy price to defeat Jotunheim and Laufey during the war a thousand years ago. It possesses a power capable of directly threatening the Father himself, a magical artifact created by Jotunheim in ancient times to simulate the cold desolation of the universe. Of course, compared to the true coolness of the universe, the Casket of Ice is far inferior, but it is undeniably an excellent weapon, especially when used against an enemy.
Soon, Loki, clad in the Destroyer armor, vanished into space. Where he had been, a cold, white star radiated its own immortal light and seemed to be growing larger and larger, as if it were alive.
Meanwhile, atop Muspelheim below, the two combatants remained oblivious to the cold, white glow of a newly formed star emanating from outer space. Surt was unaware, his attention focused entirely on the tiny insect he had initially underestimated, which proved to be far more dangerous than he had anticipated. Furthermore, the thick, perpetually thick clouds of smoke and dust obscured the view of outer space from Muspelheim's sky.
Meanwhile, Charles, Surtur's opponent, was facing a divine father alone, being chased and leaped about by Surtur. Of course, Charles also didn't see the cold white star appearing in outer space, but his lack of sight didn't mean he was unaware of it.
Therefore, his current plan is to stall for time, trying to divert Surtur's attention as much as possible. However, this process is arduous because the Heavenly Father is, from beginning to end, the Heavenly Father. The spells that Charles claims to have learned are almost useless against Surtur. The gap between them is too great, or rather, the gap in their levels, which greatly diminishes the effectiveness of many of Charles's spells. In addition, this is a world like Marvel where the rules have collapsed, and Surtur, as the Heavenly Father, possesses virtually inexhaustible energy.
With an 'unlimited' energy supply, Surtur's strength and defense were essentially beyond Ciel's capabilities. Coupled with his size advantage, every attack from Surtur was unlikely to escape Ciel's reach unless Ciel used spatial teleportation to dodge. However, Surtur had previously demonstrated the power to tear space apart; there was no guarantee that he wouldn't shatter space again during a spatial teleportation. If that happened, Ciel probably wouldn't even have the strength to cry.
By now, Ciel no longer intended to use magic to attack Surtr; it wouldn't be very effective. Instead, in the Marvel universe, it was all about who had the more powerful cheat codes. Since he possessed two Infinity Stones as official cheat codes, he might as well use them in battle—after all, it wouldn't get him banned, right?
……
The colossal sword of twilight fell, unleashing a terrifying energy storm. A massive heatwave swept outwards, pulverizing even molecules. Under the will of Surtr, the Father God, countless flames exploded and burned, followed by an endless rain of meteors that densely blanketed every corner of the sky.
On the ground, volcanoes erupted one after another, spewing lava hundreds or even thousands of meters into the air. This was the end of the world, at least for the inhabitants of Muspelheim. But for Sharl, Surt's move was nothing short of perfect. The authority of [Nightmare Gaze] was constantly at work, absorbing the souls of those unfortunate souls caught in the aftermath of Surt's battle and perishing. Then, it replenished Sharl's own power.
After all, without the Infinity Gauntlet to share the burden, Ciel couldn't possibly use two Infinity Stones simultaneously without encountering major problems. Not to mention, one of them was the Reality Stone. It was precisely because of this soul energy replenishing himself that Ciel was able to barely hold on against Surtr's attacks.
However, for Surtr, the inability to subdue this insignificant ant had only fueled the rage of the Fire King. After all, fire giants were a notoriously short-tempered race, especially Surtr, the king of fire giants. Thus, even greater energy began to surge from Surtr's body, causing the entire city of Muspelheim to groan and tremble with incessant earthquakes.
"Projection to begin!"
While deploying an octagonal golden field to block the sweeping flames, Ciel continued to drive the power of the Infinity Stones in his piracy. The creative concept, basic framework, constituent materials, crafting techniques, relying on experience, accumulated over the years—a weapon from Ciel's memory was once again brought to reality, extracted from illusion by Ciel.
The weapon Sharl now wielded was a two-handed greatsword radiating an ominous blue light. Blasphemy runes were inscribed on the blade, and at the hilt was a demon's ram's horn and skull. The entire sword exuded an aura of corruption, death, and coldness.
This is the infamous [Runeblade - Frostmourne] from Azeroth.
Of course, this is still a bootleg, but even those who have seen the original would recognize the runic sword in Sharl's hand as the genuine article. This is because the runic sword Sharl wields now, like its original, is imbued with the magic of corruption and death. This very sword once destroyed the entire kingdom of Lordaeron on Azeroth, but could it defeat Surtr? The answer is no!
Using the golden field of defense, Charles charged at Surtr, dodging Surtr's Twilight Sword's horizontal slash. Charles then raised his rune-wielding sword and struck Surtr. A massive, tens-of-meters-long wound was left on Surtr's body. The death and icy magic of Frostmourne seeped into Surtr's body through the wound, but the next moment, flames erupting from the wound directly dispelled the remaining death magic of Frostmourne and simultaneously healed the tens-of-meters-long wound.
This is fucking ridiculous!
Xia Er cursed under his breath. How was he supposed to fight a boss that was high-level, had strong attacks, many area-of-effect skills, could unleash skills infinitely without mana limitations, and also had high defense, high magic resistance, and fast health regeneration?!
Even with the power of the Infinity Stones, Ciel could inflict damage on Surtur, but Surtur's healing speed was far superior. The damage Ciel inflicted on Surtur would be completely healed in a very short time.
Distracted for a moment, and without warning, Charles was sent flying by Surt's punch, crashing heavily to the ground. Immediately following was the slash of the Twilight Sword, carrying the aura of burning everything. The Twilight Sword, accompanied by raging flames, fell, forcing Charles to endure the excruciating pain of being run over by a dozen heavy trucks while frantically creating a golden barrier to barely block the sword's edge.
