"Are you going to take me to the other side?"
"I already told you I don't know where the other side is," Lin Ye said. "I just don't want to see you suffer here."
Liz was somewhat confused: "What does suffering mean?"
Lin Ye fell silent.
He looked at Liz's body again; it was a battered and broken body that belonged to a little girl.
"Why don't you heal yourself?" Lin Ye asked. "You should be able to, right?"
Liz shook her head: "If you can't heal yourself, you have to save your power to heal your people."
"But these wounds on your body were inflicted on you by your own people."
Liz lowered her head.
Lin Ye felt a pang of heartache.
"How long have you been here?" he asked again.
Liz shook her head: "I don't know. I was here when the war started, and I haven't been out for a very long time."
"Really? Then we can go out today," Lin Ye said. "I'm really not one of the people on the other side."
“But if you’re not one of them, why did you take me out?” Liz asked. “I want to be with my people. They’re fighting, and I want to heal them.”
"No, these people are not worth saving. You should leave here and find a new life."
A new life?
“Yes.” Lin Ye thought for a moment, “For example, a new life where you can eat pineapple buns anytime, anywhere.”
"...Pineapple bun, what's that?"
"Tsk, it's a bit strange to hear this from you." Lin Ye smiled and patted Liz's head. "You'll know in time. But speaking of which, why does it smell so bad?"
You could smell it from just now; it had a nauseating, foul stench.
After searching for a while, Lin Ye quickly found the source of the stench.
At the tip of the bloodstained wooden stick in his hand, there was an unidentified brown liquid.
Lin Ye remained silent for a while.
"Forget it, let's go out." In this cramped space, the stench simply couldn't dissipate.
Liz nodded obediently and followed Lin Ye.
Just as Lin Ye crawled out of the pit, a hammer came crashing down and hit him squarely on the back of the head.
He immediately collapsed to the ground, blood splattering everywhere.
A sinister laugh came from above: "You little bastard, I finally caught you."
Lin Ye could no longer speak. He felt as if his head had been smashed. He could only lift his head with difficulty and saw a hideous demon standing in front of him, blood seeping from his crotch.
My consciousness gradually faded.
Before he completely vanished, he watched as the demon dragged Liz out of the pit and then pulled her back step by step.
Liz reached out her hand to him, trying to grab it.
No, don't do that.
do not do that.
No.
……
"what!!!!!!"
Lin Ye suddenly opened his eyes and saw Nightingale huddled in the corner, clutching her head, her face full of terror.
"Liz!" Lin Ye stood up subconsciously, but before he could do anything, the door was pushed open.
Kal'tsit strode in and her expression changed slightly when she saw Nightingale on the bed.
"Dr. Lin Ye?!" Kal'tsit stared at Lin Ye, clenching her teeth. "Please explain why you are in Nightingale's room at this time!"

Synopsis: She traveled through many cities, stopping in many cities. Every morning and evening was different. She saw a familiar scene in the bustling crowds: the commander leading his ship girl.
The commander wasn't her own commander; she paused on the street, recalling the image of being held by the commander's hand.
She recalled that evening when she walked onto the beach, dragging her wet clothes ashore, and stopped at a beautiful, uninhabited island with lush palm groves and tall coconut trees on the beach… (Too long, please click to read the full text)
Chapter Seventy-Nine: The Nightingale and Liz
And so, the beautiful night was gone.
Lin Ye and Kal'tsit comforted Nightingale until the wee hours of the morning, finally getting her back to sleep. Then, Kal'tsit sternly told Lin Ye to come with her. Lin Ye knew there was no escaping this ordeal, so he could only smile wryly and follow. But before leaving, he glanced at Nightingale one last time and noticed that her sheets were soaked with sweat.
A sense of guilt welled up in my heart.
Kal'tsit returned to the lab with a sullen face, with Lin Ye following behind her.
"What exactly happened?" Kal'tsit looked at Lin Ye and said, enunciating each word clearly, "I hope you can tell me everything."
Lin Ye knew he couldn't hide it any longer, so he had no choice but to tell Kal'tsit the truth about his new ability.
As Lin Ye recounted his story, Kal'tsit's expression shifted from anger to surprise, and then from surprise to seriousness. After Lin Ye finished speaking, her brows furrowed tightly, as if she were deep in thought, and she remained silent for a long time.
Lin Ye waited on the side, knowing that his new ability sounded somewhat unbelievable, and even Kal'tsit would probably need some time to digest it.
After a long silence, Kal'tsit finally spoke, her tone and expression equally serious: "Is what you said true?"
"Yes." Lin Ye nodded and said with a wry smile, "I just wanted to confirm whether this ability exists. I really didn't expect it to elicit such a strong reaction from Nightingale."
Kal'tsit tapped the table lightly: "You only discovered this ability today?"
"Ah."
"Was it discovered during Officer Chen's treatment?"
“Yes,” Lin Ye said, “but it was too short a time, and I’ve never had a similar experience before, so I can’t be sure if it was just my imagination.”
“It seems that’s not the case now.” Kal’tsit seemed to have a headache. “But why? You’re clearly just a pure human. I’ve never heard of a pure human having such an ability.”
Lin Ye thought to himself, "If you don't know, then there's even less reason for me to know."
Kal'tsit looked up at Lin Ye: "Tell me again what you saw and encountered in Officer Chen and Liz's world, the more detailed the better."
Lin Ye nodded.
Officer Chen's account was straightforward and could be explained in a minute. Nightingale's, however, took much longer. Lin Ye carefully recalled every detail of his encounter and then recounted it to Kal'tsit, including his conversation with Nightingale. This process took nearly half an hour. Throughout, Kal'tsit's brow remained furrowed, but this time, she didn't hesitate for long after Lin Ye finished speaking and quickly gave her a reply.
“I’m not too familiar with Officer Chen from Lungmen, but I’m sure it’s Liz’s,” Kal’tsit said slowly. “That’s what Liz went through.”
Although he had already guessed it, Lin Ye's heart still sank: "...What did Nightingale, no, what did Liz go through?"
Kal'tsit was silent for a moment before slowly saying, "Many years ago, the Sarkaz had a civil war."
"Civil war?" Lin Ye was taken aback. "A civil war among demons?"
“Yes, the demons’ civil war.” Kal’tsit nodded. “To be honest, I don’t know much about that war. I only know that Nightingale experienced it, and that it caused her great psychological trauma, from which she has not yet fully recovered. As for more details about that war, and Nightingale’s more detailed past, only one person on Rhodes Island knows.”
"The Shining?"
“Yes. But even Shining doesn’t want to talk about that war. Because that war changed her too; she was once the Sarkaz Sword Saint,” Kal’tsit said softly. “But after that, her sword was permanently sheathed.”
Lin Ye fell silent.
"Alright, let's put the Sarkaz civil war aside for now," Kal'tsit steered the conversation back on track. "Let's get back to your abilities. Is your head alright?"
"My head?" Lin Ye, who was pondering the Sarkaz civil war, did not immediately understand Kal'tsit's meaning.
“According to your account, in Nightingale’s past, your head should have been smashed to pieces by Sarkaz warriors.” Kal’tsit looked at Lin Ye. “But it seems your head is still intact.”
Kal'tsit's words brought Lin Ye to his senses, and he immediately touched the back of his head.
Just as Kal'tsit had said, his head was intact. However, the chilling pain seemed to linger, as if his head had actually been smashed open.
"From this perspective, there are only a few possibilities."
Lin Ye held his breath, waiting for Kal'tsit's analysis.
“The first one,” Kal'tsit said calmly, “is that you are lying, or that everything you are seeing is an illusion, and nothing has actually happened.”
"Uh..." Lin Ye didn't know how to react.
“Of course, that possibility is very small.” Kal’tsit changed the subject. “Because, as I said before, not many people know about Liz’s past. Shining is one, and I’m half. If you’re lying, even if I can’t expose you, Shining can, so you have no reason to do so. So let’s leave that possibility aside and assume that you really did experience everything you said, but you weren’t affected in reality. Then there’s only one answer.”
"A dream," Lin Ye said. "That was my initial guess too."
Kal'tsit nodded: "Yes, you did enter Liz's dream, not go back to the past. Although this conclusion still sounds incredible."
"But if it's a dream, why wouldn't Liz recognize me?" Lin Ye asked. "That doesn't make sense. Although the Liz of the past wouldn't have recognized me, there's no reason for that in her dream, right?"
“That is indeed a problem.” Kal’tsit tapped the table lightly, trying to focus her attention. “You are probably more important to Liz than Shining right now. So logically, even if Liz doesn’t recognize you, she shouldn’t have no memory of you at all.”
"Then why..."
"and many more."
Kal'tsit seemed to suddenly remember something, and her hand, which was lightly tapping the table, stopped in mid-air.
“Liz, the Nightingale…” Kal'tsit murmured to herself, “Liz of the Sarkaz, the Nightingale of Rhodes Island…”
Lin Ye looked at Kal'tsit with some confusion, but dared not interrupt her thoughts.
After a long silence, Kal'tsit finally spoke slowly: "I've thought of a possibility."
"what?"
“During our treatment of Nightingale, we discovered that her memories have always been fragmented,” Kal'tsit said. “Before you arrived, she didn’t remember anything about her time on Rhodes Island. And we always thought that Nightingale had lost her past memories.”
"Is not it?"
Kal'tsit remained silent for a moment.
“Perhaps, but it’s also possible that she didn’t lose these things,” Kal’tsit said slowly. “The Nightingale of Rhodes Island and Liz of Sarkaz, if you consider her as two people, it might be easier to understand. The Nightingale of Rhodes Island has always been there, not knowing where she came from or where she is going. As for Liz of Sarkaz… she’s probably been trapped in the tunnels of the demon civil war all these years, and hasn’t been able to get out.”
