The rain obscured everything.
When Yang Pingsheng turned around, Zhou Jinyu was already gone.
He stood there, stunned, unable to recover.
She was such a wonderful person; someone like her shouldn't be the ending in Ye Buxin's dreams.
Perhaps, she would be better off staying away from those two heretics.
-------------
As the rain subsided, a faint dampness filled the carriage, mingling with the subtle fragrance emanating from Ye Buxin.
Yang Pingsheng leaned against the side of the carriage, his gaze fixed on the view outside the window. The distant mountains were faintly visible in the thin mist after the rain, as if they were covered with a light veil.
"Sent them away?" Ye Buxin's voice came from the side, her tone indifferent, revealing no emotion.
"I'm leaving." Yang Pingsheng withdrew his gaze and turned to look at her.
"Is there no one else?" Ye Buxin continued to gaze out the window, her fingers unconsciously wiping away the water droplets on the car window.
"That's all," Yang Pingsheng answered crisply.
"Oh, I see." Ye Buxin's voice was light and airy, as if she were talking to herself. "It seems that from now on it will just be the two of us."
Was she happy? Yang Pingsheng couldn't detect any emotion in her words; it was as if she was simply stating a fact.
Her profile appeared exceptionally soft in the dim light, her eyelashes fluttering slightly like butterfly wings.
"Anyway, as long as I stay away, right? I can live with you forever." She suddenly clicked her tongue, her tone tinged with mockery, "It feels like I'm being imprisoned by you."
Yang Pingsheng raised an eyebrow, his gaze landing on her face: "Regretful?"
Ye Buxin remained expressionless, simply replying, "I didn't say that."
She stretched and yawned, her body falling to the side as if it had lost its support.
Yang Pingsheng reached out, and she leaned into his arms, resting her head on his shoulder, her hair falling onto his clothes, carrying a faint coolness.
"How infuriating," Ye Buxin muttered under her breath, her tone tinged with resentment. "I've thought about this so much. My original plan was to take you to the top and become the King of Heaven together. Now look what's happened, the world is going to be messed up by a bunch of idiots."
Yang Pingsheng chuckled, gently playing with her hair with his fingers, his tone light: "What's wrong with that? Anyway, if the sky falls, the tall ones will hold it up."
Ye Buxin snorted, her tone tinged with dissatisfaction: "Easy for you to say. I want to be with you forever and ever. If Taixu merges with us and those idiots can't find a suitable person to handle this, we'll both be gone!"
Yang Pingsheng paused, his gaze deepening. He looked down at Ye Buxin in his arms, his voice low and gentle: "Eternity does not exist, Buxin."
Ye Buxin looked up and met his gaze.
Her eyes gleamed with a complex light, as if they held a thousand unspoken words, yet she didn't know where to begin.
Yang Pingsheng's gaze was gentle yet firm, as if silently telling a story.
“Just a moment is enough,” he said softly. “To be right next to you at the moment the world ends. That would be happiness for me.”
Ye Buxin snorted coldly, turned her head away, but her ears turned slightly red.
Her voice was so low it was almost inaudible, yet it reached Yang Pingsheng's ears clearly: "Me too."
Yang Pingsheng's lips curled up slightly, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes. He heard Ye Buxin add softly, "This is enough to prove that we share the same ideals."
The carriage fell silent, with only the sound of wheels rolling over the ground and the two people's soft breathing remaining.
The air after the rain is fresh and moist, carrying the fragrance of earth.
Ye Buxin leaned against Yang Pingsheng's chest, closed her eyes, and smiled slightly, as if she had finally found her place.
Yang Pingsheng looked down at her, his fingers gently stroking her hair, his gaze so tender it seemed to melt everything.
To sleep together in life and be buried together in death—for him, this was the greatest romance.
-------------
Within the Great Ruins, a peculiar little world quietly emerged.
Unlike the vast white world beside it, which is magnificent and grand, it appears small and exquisite, like a pearl inlaid in the endless void.
Compared to the white world, it's like a chick standing in front of an eagle, small yet full of life.
However, though small, it is complete in every way. This world, though small, encompasses everything. Mountains, rivers, deserts, rainforests, oceans... its structure perfectly mimics the main world, as if it were a condensation of the main world's essence. Ye Buxin is responsible for creating weather changes and the alternation of day and night; with a gentle wave of her finger, clouds drift and the sun and moon revolve in the sky. Yang Pingsheng is responsible for the earth's energy and the direction of its veins; with a press of his palm, undulating mountains and winding rivers appear on the earth.
On the highest peak of the small world, a mansion stands quietly.
Yang Pingsheng and Ye Buxin stood in the courtyard, looking down at the world they had created with their own hands.
Ye Buxin frowned, her tone tinged with dissatisfaction: "What is this? Compared to Tianren Mountain in the main world, this mountain has no grandeur whatsoever!"
Yang Pingsheng smiled helplessly, his gaze gentle: "Why make your secluded place so grand?"
Ye Buxin nudged him with her elbow, her tone tinged with reproach: "We went through so much trouble to create this world in Taixu! Even if we don't interfere with the worlds designed by those old guys next door, we still have to guard against their invasion."
Yang Pingsheng raised his hands in surrender, his smile deepening: "You're in charge."
Therefore, the mountain range was readjusted according to Ye Buxin's plan.
The once gentle mountains have become steep and precipitous, shrouded in mist and clouds, seemingly piercing the sky.
They were indeed domineering, but the environment in which they lived in seclusion was no longer the quiet atmosphere that Yang Pingsheng wanted.
Standing on the mountaintop, the high clouds were right beneath their feet, and looking down, they could see nothing but a vast sea of clouds.
Yang Pingsheng shook his head and joked, "You have no taste at all."
Ye Buxin ignored him, turned around and went into the room to start preparing the documents.
The mist even spread into the courtyard, and her figure appeared and disappeared in the mist, as if she had become one with this world.
Yang Pingsheng asked, "So what are we having for dinner tonight?"
They could certainly go without food, but since they've stopped participating in worldly affairs, and have been living in seclusion for so long, they must be looking for some entertainment.
Their daily culinary desires are satisfied with the pleasures they have set out to enjoy.
Ye Buxin's voice came from the clouds: "Whatever, that kind of thing, can't you just do it casually?"
Yang Pingsheng shook his head helplessly. How could he casually ruin the joy of eating with the person he loved most?
-------------
Ye Buxin stood in front of the ritual mirror, dressed in a red wedding gown. Nine layers of silk gauze woven from rosy clouds cascaded down the cloud-like steps, and a golden sash with a phoenix holding a pearl cinched her slender waist.
The wide-sleeved wedding gown, made of flowing brocade, fluttered in the wind, with the phoenix and a hundred birds embroidered in silver thread on the cuffs appearing and disappearing, as if it might take flight at any moment.
Her peach blossom eyes shimmered like the morning glow of clouds and sea of clouds. Between her willow-leaf eyebrows, which resembled distant mountains shrouded in mist, hung half a red jade pendant. The dangling coral beads swayed gently with her breath, casting dappled light on her porcelain-white skin.
She frowned, looked at herself in the mirror, then turned to Yang Pingsheng: "Is this really necessary?"
Yang Pingsheng stood to the side, his eyes scanning Ye Buxin's wedding dress from head to toe, his eyes full of satisfaction.
He rarely displayed such an unyielding domineering air, nodding and saying, "It's necessary."
He stepped forward, reached out to straighten her clothes, and said with a hint of helplessness, "You keep nagging about Zhou Jinyu and me getting married in my dreams, it's driving me crazy. Since you care so much, then you marry me once, and then you're not allowed to mention it again."
Ye Buxin pursed her lips: "...I was just saying that."
Yang Pingsheng raised an eyebrow, his tone firm: "Then I'll just take it as a joke. In any case, after we get married this time, you're not allowed to mention this matter again."
Ye Buxin gave a soft hum and reluctantly replied, "Oh."
The ceremony was conducted exactly as Yang Pingsheng and Zhou Jinyu had married in the dream – the handwashing ceremony, the sharing of food ceremony, and the nuptial cup ceremony, without any deviation.
Although Ye Buxin was reluctant, she was exceptionally cooperative in her actions, even showing a seriousness that she herself was unaware of.
However, when it came to the final step, as the two of them each held a glass of wine and prepared to drink, Ye Buxin suddenly seemed to remember something and burst out laughing.
The liquor sprayed all over Yang Pingsheng, but he calmly wiped the liquor stains off his face and asked, "What are you laughing at?"
Ye Buxin covered her mouth, trying to suppress her laughter, her shoulders trembling slightly: "No, it's nothing. It's just that when I thought about the look of utter despair on your face when you and Zhou Jinyu got married in my dream, I just wanted to laugh."
Upon hearing this, a hint of mockery flashed in Yang Pingsheng's eyes, and he said casually, "Well said, then let's share a room tonight."
Ye Buxin was taken aback, and the smile on her face instantly froze: "Huh?"
Her ears turned red at a visible speed, a hint of panic flashed in her eyes, and her voice unconsciously rose:
"Is this something a true friend would do?!"
"Are you afraid?"
"Bullshit! If I'm scared tonight, I'll change my surname to Yang Pingsheng!"
-------------
The world was shrouded in mist, as if a light veil had been draped over it.
Ye Buxin hid in the sea of clouds, her gaze coldly fixed on the two figures below the mountain—Yang Pingsheng and her avatar were walking side by side toward the lake to the east, seemingly preparing to go fishing.
She curled her lip, a hint of disdain flashing in her eyes, and turned to fly towards the horizon.
However, after flying a short distance, she suddenly felt darkness above her head.
Looking up, she saw a huge phantom of Mount Tai descending from the sky, crashing straight down on her!
Ye Buxin's pupils shrank, and she hurriedly dodged, but she was still shaken by the powerful impact and landed in a disheveled state, her clothes covered with mud and grass clippings.
Before she could even steady herself, a warm hand landed on her shoulder.
Ye Buxin was startled and abruptly slapped the hand away, turning to look at the newcomer warily: "Yang Pingsheng?! What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with me, disguised, fishing in the east?"
Yang Pingsheng stood behind her, a faint smile on his face, and said in a relaxed tone, "That is also my incarnation."
Ye Buxin was stunned for a moment, then realized what he meant and stomped his foot angrily: "You stole my secret technique!"
Yang Pingsheng nodded confidently: "You said that you were better than me in the dream by using your avatar, so of course I have to make up for my shortcomings in this area."
Ye Buxin gritted her teeth and glared at him: "Then go back and learn slowly by yourself, I'm going out!"
Yang Pingsheng shook his head, his tone firm and unyielding: "No. Have you forgotten our agreement? We've only been in seclusion for three years, and you can't even hold back anymore?"
Ye Buxin snorted coldly and said angrily, "Don't think I don't know you slowed down the flow of time here by thirty times! The main world has changed drastically. Haven't you seen how the white world is absorbing spiritual energy more and more fiercely? They've clearly discovered that the two candidates have escaped and are planning to try a new method to deal with Taixu!"
Yang Pingsheng remained calm and composed, his tone indifferent: "What does that have to do with us?"
Ye Bu stomped his feet in anger: "I've seen through their tricks! They want to suppress spiritual energy and feed it all to the Heavenly Dao. In my eyes, only a bunch of idiots would do that, and I will never allow the world to be ruled by a bunch of idiots!"
Yang Pingsheng sighed, reached out and flicked Ye Buxin's forehead lightly.
