Soon, two helicopters flew low overhead and were quickly above her. If she hadn't dodged quickly enough, those guys would have spotted her already.

Curaçao stared at the markings on the helicopters. The two helicopters were marked with the Royal Air Force, but the people on board were all wearing black suits.

"Could it be that the organization has already infiltrated the Royal Air Force?" Curaçao stared at the helicopter in the sky. "That can't be right, they shouldn't have that much power. Is it just a coincidence?"

Not far away, several cars were parked by the river, and more than a dozen agents in black suits jumped out of the cars.

Curaçao looked at the agents with a cold expression. Just over ten minutes ago, she had thrown the car into the river. And now, these agents had tracked her here.

Sera Mary said she was letting me go, but she put a tracking device in my car. She's definitely not a good person.

The agents quickly began searching the riverbed and soon made a discovery. With the excavator digging, a flooded car was quickly pulled out.

Seeing their tense expressions, Curaçao frowned. She didn't understand why they were trying to salvage a broken-down car. She was definitely not in the car; why were they trying to salvage it?

Just then, Karen's voice came through her earpiece.

“Good news and bad news, which do you want to hear?” Karen asked bluntly.

“Let’s start with the bad news,” Curaçao said, leaning out and frowning. “Consider the good news as dessert.”

MI6 agents have already entered the area and are just one step away from conducting a thorough search; it's only a matter of time before her hiding place is discovered. She has considered escaping, but helicopters are patrolling overhead.

“The bad news is that they requested backup 30 minutes ago,” Karen said with a laugh. “It shouldn’t be long before they start a thorough search of the area, and you won’t be able to hide anymore.”

"And what's the good news?" Curaçao asked somewhat nervously.

"The good news is that MI6 intercepted a piece of intelligence, passed from the Japanese Public Security Bureau to our agents," Karen said with a smile. "MI6 should lose interest in you now."

"Is it information about APTX-4869?" Curaçao keenly sensed the problem. "Did you leak it? Or did Nijō leak it?"

"Does it matter?" Karen asked, somewhat puzzled. "Even if we don't say it now, MI6 will find out about it later. Besides, Shiho Miyano has already left London, so even if MI6 wants to take any action, it can't threaten her."

"You are artificial intelligence!"

What's wrong with artificial intelligence?

Curaçao pursed her lips and remained silent.

She had always regarded Karen as a rather powerful program and had never been wary of her. After all, she subconsciously believed that artificial intelligence would not harm people, and that the things she had done before were all done at Shinjo's behest.

However, what Karen did this time was clearly trading Shiho Miyano's safety for her own chance to escape, which she believed violated the principles of artificial intelligence.

"You think that as an artificial intelligence, I can't do anything to harm humans, right?" Karen seemed to have seen through Curaçao's thoughts and laughed, a somewhat sinister and terrifying laugh that sent chills down one's spine.

Curaçao remained silent, unable to speak, as an agent was very close to the tree where she was hiding.

“Perhaps you should find some new cities and learn about my past.” Karen said before logging off.

At that moment, an agent in a car in the distance seemed to hear something significant over the walkie-talkie. He immediately called his companions over, and within minutes, only a small team remained on the riverbank to clean up the mess. The rest of the team got into their cars and left for their next mission location.

Curaçao didn't dare to show herself rashly. Karen's laughter just now sent chills down her spine, and she couldn't completely trust Karen now.

These agents in front of her are likely playing a trick to lure her out, to lower her guard, and once she runs away, a large group of people will appear and arrest her.

Two more hours passed before she finally jumped down from the tree, after the last group of people had left. As she landed, her legs buckled, and she nearly fell.

She had barely landed when she sensed someone behind her. Before she could even draw her gun, she felt something behind her head—a cold, hard object that felt like a handgun.

“I thought you’d stay up there for another ten minutes or so,” Shinjo’s voice rang out behind Curaçao.

"When did you arrive?" Curaçao sat down directly on the ground. "Do you have any medicine?"

“Yes, and there’s also an emergency medical kit.” Xincheng placed a metal box on the ground. “It contains what you need. As for when I arrived, it was during peak hours.”

Curaçao didn't dwell on the issue too much and began treating her wounds. Last time, Sera Marie had given her too little time to properly treat them, but thankfully, the wounds hadn't worsened.

Just as she was cleaning her wound, lights began to flicker on the distant riverbank.

She looked at Shinjo beside her with a blank expression, but Shinjo also had a blank expression on his face, clearly this was not part of his plan.

Shinjo took over Curaçao's work directly and began to treat the wound quickly. With the aid of his prosthetic eye, he was able to treat the wound much faster than Curaçao.

"Now is not the time to treat the wound, let's hurry up and leave." Curaçao tried to stop Newtown, but Newtown blocked her way.

“There’s no rush. Let’s treat the wound first,” Shinjo said, frowning. “It’s already showing signs of worsening. If it’s not treated properly, there’s a risk of amputation later.”

Upon hearing the risk of amputation, Curaçao stiffened, then relaxed and allowed Shinjo to treat her wound.

After treating the wound, Xincheng gestured for Curaçao to stay there while he ran out to check on things.

As soon as he stepped outside, he saw several people dressed in black groping their way towards him. He recognized one of them; he was a member of the organization in London. In the information Karen had gathered for him, he was ranked sixth, making him a minor leader.

"Are these guys dogs?" Shinjo looked at the people in the distance, reached into his pocket, and blindly typed a message to Karen.

A moment later, Karen's voice came through the headset.

“None of these people should be carrying any electronic devices, not even cell phones.” Karen’s voice carried a hint of helplessness. “I’ll have Masaaki Okakura and the others release the drones now. They should be on site in 20 minutes. But don’t count too much on the drones. It’s dark, and the camera resolution isn’t high enough, so they might not be able to provide effective support.”

"Don't act immediately after arriving at the scene." Xincheng pulled out a dagger. "Let me try to take down a few first."

“Do you think the loiter time of drones is as cheap as cabbage?” Karen said, somewhat speechless. “After arriving at the scene, the maximum loiter time is five minutes. Any longer and it will be detected, not to mention the battery won’t be able to keep up.”

"Only twenty minutes? That's a bit much pressure." Shinjo took out a pistol and attached a silencer.

He quickly selected a target, an organization member who was far from the main force, and fired a shot that went straight through the man's temple.

Although it was fitted with a silencer, the gunshots were still quite noticeable in the quiet of the night.

These organization members are all highly trained, hardened individuals who have lived on the edge of death; they immediately took cover upon hearing the gunshot.

The dead man's body crashed to the ground, breaking many dry branches. Several members of the organization nearby immediately began to move away, fearing that the man in the dark would target them.

Nelson immediately began organizing his men to begin defense, but the gunman in the darkness did not fire a second shot.

"Boss!" one of the organization members whispered to Nelson, "Should we send someone out to lure that guy in the shadows into making a move?"

"Prepare to retreat!" Nelson whispered.

"Withdraw?" one of the organization members asked, somewhat puzzled. "Why? There's only one of her."

“Because she is Curaçao,” Nelson said in a low voice. “That woman is terrifyingly strong.”

"Then why are we following us?"

“I only intended to put on a show for Gin, since several of his men have died.” Nelson was also somewhat frustrated. “I didn’t really intend to catch up with her.”

Just then, a roar came from the darkness, a death roar that sent chills down one's spine.

"Retreat! Retreat to the riverbank, don't stay in the woods!" Nelson said immediately.

Shinjo pulled the dagger straight out of the guy's heart. He originally wanted to stab the guy in the throat, but who knew that the guy would move. He had to change his move and stab him in the back of the heart.

Although they successfully killed the guy, they also caused him to send a signal.

He had expected these guys to rush over and stop him, and he was prepared for a fierce battle, but instead, they chose to retreat.

"I just found something interesting, would you like to hear it?" Karen's voice came through the headset.

"Tell me about it."

"MI6 and Gin's men ran into each other," Karen said with a hint of schadenfreude. "A gunfight broke out between the two sides, and guess what happened?"

Chapter 302 Homecoming and First Encounter

“MI6 suffered a major loss, and Gin chose to retreat.” Shinjo sheathed his dagger.

"How did you guess that?"

"Guess? Is there even a need to guess? MI6 in London is full of useless bums, just coasting along. The real elites are all overseas on missions. Plus, they're operating on their own turf, so their vigilance is bound to be low." Shinjo stretched. "Gin's men are all elites. They've been chased for so long, they must be seething with anger. If a fight breaks out, MI6 will definitely suffer, but Gin and his men can't afford to fight them head-on, otherwise they'd all be wiped out. Retreat is inevitable."

“But according to my calculations, Gin is confident he can completely wipe out this squad,” Kallen asked with some doubt. “Could it be…”

"Are you sure your calculations take everything into account?" Shinjo shrugged. "Gin can't afford to lose. There's a saying that chess is divided into black and white, but on this chessboard, there are more than just black and white sides."

Curaço emerged from the darkness after seeing the group retreat, a gun in her hand. Clearly, she had been preparing to help.

"Who is the other party?" Curaçao asked, frowning. "Your enemy?"

Xincheng acted so quickly and decisively that it seemed unbelievable to her.

“The person in the organization, the second-in-command of the European branch, codename Nelson.” Shinjo put the dagger away. “But this guy wasn’t planning to fight me to the death. He ran away after a few people died.”

"Retreat now?"

"also."

At the riverbank, Nelson led his men across to the other side. Looking at the figures in the darkness, he felt a lingering fear. In such a short time, four, or perhaps five, had already perished.

"Everyone scatter, scatter!" Nelson shouted nervously.

He feared that the Grim Reaper in the darkness was among them, and apart from his few trusted confidants, he dared not let anyone else get too close to him.

Location on the opposite bank of the river

Curaçao shook his head as he watched the organization members flee in panic. These people were of such poor quality that they were incomparable to the people he had ever met.

“These people aren’t particularly strong, but their loyalty to the organization is beyond question.” Shinjo stood beside her. “In fact, these are the people who are the very flesh and blood of the organization.”

"You think too highly of them," Curaçao couldn't help but frown.

“Don’t underestimate them. If it weren’t for the people in Europe protecting them, plus Gin being such a troublemaker,” Shinjo shook his head. “The previous Rum might have been able to usurp the throne. His eye was no accident.”

"You mean..."

"Who knows?" Shinjo walked into the darkness not far away. "Let's go. There are more troublesome things to deal with when we get back."

Meanwhile, in Tokyo, at the Koshimizu Detective Agency

“Miss, we are…” A plainclothes police officer was about to show his identification when Amuro Tooru stopped him, gesturing for him to leave.

Although the police officer was somewhat unwilling, he ultimately chose to wait outside the door out of consideration for his colleague, but he did not go far.

"You've come here today to protest?" Yue Shui looked at Amuro Tooru in front of him and asked with a half-smile, "Are you here to seize our properties again? Or are you planning to summon us this time?"

Amuro Tooru looked at Koshimizu Nanatsuki in front of him and said in a low voice, "Miss Koshimizu, I don't need to explain the seriousness of this matter to you. What I want to say is that Shinjo-senpai has protected you very well, and you don't need to get involved in this matter."

"What are you getting involved in?" Koshimizu looked at Amuro Tooru with a smile. "Are you calling him 'senpai' while stabbing him in the back?"

Amuro Tooru's eye twitched slightly, but he still chose to patiently persuade him, "You don't need to end up like them. I'll find a way to get you exonerated. You just need to say you didn't know anything. We don't even know when Shinjo will be back. What if he comes back and finds you in prison..."

"A lot of people will die, right?"

"Yes." Amuro Tooru nodded, forcing a smile.

"But the deceased himself wasn't afraid, so what are you afraid of?" Koshimizu looked at Amuro Tooru with a half-smile. "Some Akita dogs know pain when they're hit. Some Akita dogs are only good for soup."
