Feeling like he'd won the lottery, he returned to his dorm and put all the Galon, Sikor, and Nat that he had stored in his closet into a cloth bag that had been enchanted with a flawless expansion spell.

The bag's interior space is only about the size of a typical elementary school student's backpack, enough to hold his money.

This bag is not a dark magic item. Even with Jimmy's limited knowledge of alchemy, he can tell that its material is very ordinary and it has only been enchanted with a traceless expansion spell.

Harry, who was playing wizard chess on the floor, watched as Jimmy ran to the wardrobe as soon as he returned, and then lay on the bed grinning foolishly. He asked curiously, "Jimmy, did something happy happen to you?"

Jimmy was still chuckling when he casually replied, "Quirok is a great professor!"

Harry and Ron exchanged a glance, both puzzled and confused. They shrugged and went back to playing chess.

The next day was Saturday, and the confinement didn't stop even on Saturdays and Sundays. He had to wipe the medals in the prize display room, and it took him an hour and a half to finish the confinement.

Then Jimmy was free, and he continued to run into the library, carefully flipping through the spell materials that others found utterly boring.

Hermione wasn't in the library this time, and Jimmy didn't know where she had gone either; he was just studying on his own.

He didn't see Hermione until lunchtime and asked her where she was.

Hermione gestured with her chin toward Harry, "Harry was secretly practicing Quidditch near the Forbidden Forest today. I went to see him, and Hagrid and Rocket were there too."

Harry heard Hermione's words and gave Jimmy a weary smile.

“Let me tell you…” Ron said excitedly, gesturing wildly as if he had found a chance to give a speech, “Wood is planning to use Harry as a secret weapon. Harry flies wonderfully! This morning, Professor McGonagall even gave Harry a Nimbus 2000 and praised his flying talent!”

“Professor McGonagall is really rich… Hogwarts professors don’t seem to earn much, do they?” Jimmy wasn’t sure if he should think that way, but a brand-new Nimbus 2000 cost a whopping 200 Galleons.

Hermione was very uncomfortable with these words. She glared at Jimmy and said, "Why are you always thinking about money? You were thinking about it that night too!"

"Because I am currently in a state of extreme material deprivation, I am particularly concerned about the root causes of my suffering!"

Jimmy answered confidently, using a series of clever words to confuse Hermione.

Knowing that Jimmy was talking about money, Harry reacted quickly, saying, "Honestly, I know that feeling. When I'm starving, I wish I had some money."

"Harry, are you not getting enough to eat at home?" Hermione seemed genuinely puzzled by this question.

Harry smiled knowingly as he recalled those years. "Sometimes, I guess, but I would also sneak food out of the fridge, though my aunt always caught me."

"What is a refrigerator?" Ron's question was tricky.

"A refrigerator is a cabinet that keeps food from spoiling for a short time." Miss Know-It-All's answer was very concise, because she also wanted to know what kind of life Harry was living. "Don't they even let you eat your fill? That's abuse!"

Seeing that they were chatting enthusiastically, Jimmy quickly ate a few bites of food and then ran off crouching down, so that Hermione wouldn't ask him any more questions and then look at him with pity.

Back at the library, Jimmy continued his research and studies.

After two weeks of study, I have made significant progress in the levels I have learned in the Golden Book.

Charmsology: 13

Potions: 9

Metamorphism: 8

Alchemy: 4

These visible rankings motivated Jimmy to improve, but he forgot that Hermione was the type who didn't need encouragement to go to the library to study.

After discovering Jimmy's disappearance, Hermione went straight to the library. She sat down opposite Jimmy with a book in her arms and read it, seemingly without any intention of getting to the bottom of the matter.

This reassured Jimmy considerably, and he continued studying the research paper until dusk...

When dinner was served in the Great Hall, Jimmy squatted down and approached Professor Flitwick, who ate there every day. He handed Professor Flitwick a notebook filled with his thoughts and questions. "Professor," he said, "this is my research on the Muggle Exorcism Charm and the problems I've encountered over the past few days. Could you spare some time to give me some guidance?"

"Hmm, let me see." The kind-hearted Professor Flitwick would not refuse any young wizard who loved knowledge. He adjusted his glasses and picked up the notebook to start reading.

The first thing that catches the eye is Jimmy's long-ago analysis of the paper on breaking down the Muggle banishment spell, as well as his successful experience in simplifying spells and gestures.

Professor Flitwick hesitated to bring the cup to his lips, his gaze becoming increasingly serious. He even looked up at Jimmy, his expression full of astonishment. "I don't think I can give you a reply in a short time. You've surprised me greatly, Mr. Blaine. I need to take it back and study it carefully. If you don't mind, come to my office tomorrow morning."

After saying this, the glass full of butterbeer was brought to his lips and he took a sip. Professor Flitwick seemed to remember something and suddenly leaned closer playfully, whispering, "I remember you still have solitary confinement. Tomorrow your solitary confinement will take place in my office. Minerva won't know."

“Understood, Professor!” Jimmy replied quietly, then laughed along with Professor Flitwick.

Chapter 40 Professor Flitwick's Secret Lessons

The next morning, Jimmy went to Flitwick's office to receive a secret lesson from Professor Flitwick. After studying the subject that night, Professor Flitwick gained a clearer understanding of Jimmy's intelligence.

It was astonishing to learn that Jimmy was able to break the Muggle Exorcism Curse into two parts in just a few days.

The teapots floated up automatically and landed above a low table, filling the teacups in front of the two people with green tea.

"I prefer green tea to black tea; its bittersweet taste reminds me of past experiences."

Professor Flitwick directed the teapot's wand to turn towards the cabinet next to him, which reached the ceiling. The pastry box in the drawer immediately flew out and landed on the table.

"Try it, this is a type of candy that Honey Duke candy store rarely sells."

Jimmy picked up a white, lumpy object, popped it into his mouth, chewed it a couple of times, and looked uncomfortable. He then picked up a glass of green tea to wash away the cloying sweetness in his mouth. "I don't like things that are too sweet. Extreme sweetness is just bitter."

"It's a shame, I thought you would like sweets, many people do."

Professor Flitwick wasn't offended by these honest words. He chuckled and skipped the topic of sweets, picking up the notebook Jimmy had given him yesterday, along with another stack of parchment. "Ahem, it's not lecture time now, but I'll still add 10 points to Gryffindor for this beautiful paper and groundbreaking research."

"Thank you, Professor, that's good news."

"That's not all! The history of Muggle banishment spells is very long, dating back to the early Middle Ages, when the Muggle witch hunt movement was on the rise. Its function is very simple: it always reminds a Muggle of an urgent matter and makes them leave a place that needs to be kept secret."

Professor Flitwick said this with admiration, then asked curiously, "I can tell that your research focuses on memory recovery, so could you explain why?"

“My friend, Neville Longbottom, received a Memory Orb. We learned during our conversation that the Muggle Exorcism Charm has the effect of making people remember things, so we gave it a try.” Jimmy added, “Of course, if the Charm research is successful, the Memory Orb manufacturer should give me a licensing fee to produce new Memory Orbs.”

Professor Flitwick smiled. “A very good starting point. This direction is absolutely correct. There is no similar spell in the wizarding world right now. To be honest, wizards are very lacking in innovation. No widely accepted spell has been created in decades.”

"Is that so?" Jimmy exclaimed in surprise.

Professor Flitwick nodded and said, "Yes, the last genius to invent a spell was Severus, who invented five spells and two anti-spells at once while he was in school."

"Wow, that's amazing?" Jimmy only knew that Snape knew a lot of spells, but he didn't know that he had created so many spells.

“His talent is indeed very rare.” Professor Flitwick counted on his fingers for Jimmy, “The Upside-Down Bell Charm, the Toenail Growth Charm, the Earplugs Charm, the Tongue Locking and Throat-Sealing Charm, and the Divine Shield Charm are all very good spells. The Upside-Down Bell Charm, the Earplugs Charm, and the Tongue Locking and Throat-Sealing Charm are included in many books, but unfortunately his talent in potions is even better, so he did not study spells in depth.”

“I’ve heard of these spells, but I never imagined they were all invented by Professor Snape.”

Professor Flitwick, seeing Jimmy's surprised look, chuckled and said, "I think your talent in spells is no less than Severus'. You've already made remarkable progress in your research on Muggle banishment spells in your first year. I think it won't be long before you succeed as well."

I can't give you guidance on spell development because spell research is usually indescribable. Spell masters usually create spells based on a sudden inspiration.

I can only offer you some reference based on my knowledge; I hope it will be helpful.

During a morning of secret instruction, Jimmy learned about the various relationships and working principles between the Muggle banishment charm, the memory modification charm, and the forgetting charm.

Professor Flitwick also recommended the Resurrection Charm to him based on his own experience.

The Rejuvenation Spell is a magic spell that can rejuvenate people and dispel the fatigue caused by lack of sleep, but fatigue tends to peak at night.

There is actually an internal connection, or rather a label, between some spells that share common or similar effects.

If you want to recall forgotten things, you also need to learn restoration spells.

In short, Jimmy had a very fruitful day. Even without the opportunity to deduce the results, he could feel that the research on the "Memory Charm" had progressed a bit.

When the weekend ended, Jimmy went back to class and performed well in all aspects, as if that nighttime outing was just an accident.

Jimmy's confinement period ended smoothly, and he easily returned to his normal life.

While having breakfast, he noticed that Hermione seemed to be in a low mood, so he deliberately tried to cheer her up in a serious tone, "Dear Hermione Granger, how can I smooth out your eyebrows? They look a little unhappy!"

Hermione rolled her eyes at him without replying, but she didn't seem as depressed as before.

Another week passed, and Jimmy hit a roadblock in developing the Memory Charm. He switched his job to making card frames and racked his brains trying to figure out how to trick the erudite Hermione into working for him.

George and Fred are making great progress. The hot senior Christine is very interested in Jacob, and they've already started talking.

These things make Jimmy always seem very busy, so much so that he's always on the go.

Exhausted, Jimmy collapsed into bed as soon as he got back to his dorm. Harry and Ron racked their brains but couldn't figure out what Jimmy was up to.

“Don’t wake Jimmy. He’s an ambitious man, just like Percy.” Ron’s assessment was extremely harsh, but that was how he saw Jimmy.

But he added, "Jimmy is better than Percy; at least he'll lend us his homework."

Harry agreed, nodded, and woke Neville up to join in. The three of them sneaked out of the dormitory together.

Instead of sleeping in the middle of the night, the group was going for a night stroll, and not just any night stroll, but a purposeful one!

For a full ten days, Malfoy for a full ten days! He kept nagging them about the duel every day, tormenting them to no end.

Harry was driven crazy by him, and today Malfoy finally agreed to duel again, which they would do tonight.

However, tonight's itinerary was clearly not going smoothly. As soon as they arrived at the common room, they encountered their first obstacle: Hermione.

……

Jimmy woke up the next morning in a good mood because it was the last day of September, and tomorrow, when October arrived, he would have a new opportunity to make predictions.

After waiting for a full month, the Memory Charm was finally about to be born. He had a strong feeling that he would be able to successfully develop the Memory Charm next month!

At breakfast, Jimmy was full of energy, while Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville all looked sickly.

Out of concern and curiosity, Jimmy asked them, "What's wrong with you?"

Chapter 41 Grancado

"It's all Malfoy's fault!" Ron's eyes seemed to spit fire as he looked towards the Slytherin table. "Last night, Malfoy tricked us into going to the right-hand corridor on the fourth floor and even notified Filch, which led to us all getting caught!"

Malfoy, sitting at the Slytherin table, seemed to have been watching them closely. When he saw Ron's expression, he immediately grinned slyly.

Harry was also looking at Malfoy, his expression mirroring Ron's.

"Huh?" Jimmy didn't know what to say. "Okay, did you guys see anything in that hallway?"

He wondered if the plot had been altered by some strange force. Why were there still the four of them, and Malfoy?

Hermione, standing nearby, said angrily, "That's a good question! I warned them not to go, but they insisted. Neville and I almost got eaten by that big dog!"

“There’s a room at the end of that corridor, and there’s a three-headed dog in the room…” Neville was being protected by Hermione, but he was also Harry and Ron’s friend, so he was caught in the middle and felt uneasy. “When Filch came after us, we hid in that room, saw the three-headed dog, ran out, and then Filch caught us.”

“You’re really lucky. I heard that Cerberus can eat three little wizards in one go.” At this moment, George appeared from behind Neville, making him tremble with fear.

Fred smiled, but suddenly looked up and saw the Gryffindor hourglass, exclaiming, "Merlin, where are our points?"

The scoring hourglass hanging high behind the professor's long desk was now empty; it used to have at least some red sand, but now there was nothing left.
