Hogwarts: Me? Fight Voldemort?
Page 53
“Another year has passed!” He stood up and said with a smile, “Before we enjoy these delicious dishes, I must trouble you to listen to an old man’s cliché.”
What a wonderful year this has been! Your little minds must be much richer than before... There's a whole summer ahead of you, giving you time to digest all that information and clear your heads before the next semester starts..."
Then Dumbledore announced the scores for each house, and when he got to Gryffindor, he said in a strange, enigmatic tone, "Gryffindor, well, very special, 0 points."
When the scores of other houses were mentioned, those houses would always applaud politely, but when Gryffindor's zero was mentioned, only Slytherin's long table erupted in laughter.
Some Gryffindors were smiling, while others looked dejected, especially the girls who missed the timed event. Not only did they lose points, but they also missed out on the fun – a double loss!
"but!"
It's coming, Jimmy thought; Dumbledore is about to start adding back Glenn's points.
He opened the "secret plan" lying on the table and proudly displayed the contents of the note in front of Hermione. The note read: Dumbledore will give Gryffindor extra points.
After reading the note, Hermione looked at the headmaster with a hint of anticipation.
Dumbledore didn't keep them in suspense and said directly, "I still have some points to allocate!"
He picked up a piece of parchment, glanced at it, and saw that there were many names on it.
"The 36 students of Gryffindor displayed amazing courage in a game, and I would give each of them an extra 10 points."
The Gryffindor students never expected such a turn of events, and they all clapped excitedly; a score was better than zero!
Hermione excitedly tugged at Jimmy, as if praising his brilliant strategy.
"Calm down, it's definitely not over yet!" Jimmy straightened his collar, looking completely composed.
As if to prove his point, Dumbledore continued, "There are a few outstanding students who should be singled out. First... Mr. Draco Malfoy."
Ok?
Draco, who was drooling over the food, was stunned when Dumbledore called his name.
Everyone at the Slytherin table, including the people at the other three long tables, looked at him. The intense gaze made him sit up stiffly, and then he heard Dumbledore speak.
"He remained calm and composed in the face of the unknown and made the right choice. I award Slytherin thirty points for that."
Splash!
The long tables of Slytherin and Gryffindor all applauded; it was rare for the two houses to reach a consensus on one thing.
Draco was a little confused, but he still smiled smugly. After thinking it over, he gradually realized that it was indeed his calm suggestion to find Neville on the night of the Philosopher's Stone that prevented that idiot Ron Weasley from being strangled by the Devil's Web.
Thinking of this, he gave Ron at the Gryffindor table a crooked smile and twitched his eyebrows twice.
Before Ron could even get angry, Dumbledore called his name.
“Secondly, Mr. Ron Weasley!” said Dumbledore. “He won the most brilliant game of chess at Hogwarts in years, and I award Gryffindor 30 points for that.”
Ron's face turned as red as a carrot, and he tried to cover up his uncontrollable smile by sticking his chin up as he shook hands with the students around him to celebrate.
The applause rose again, but the Slytherin side fell silent.
"Third, Mr. Jimmy Blaine, for his remarkable wisdom in the face of adversity, I award him 30 points in Gryffindor."
That old man was indeed spying!
Jimmy squinted at Dumbledore, trying to see the guilty conscience on the old man's face, but he failed.
"Fourth, Miss Hermione Granger, brave, decisive, and loyal, I would add 30 points to Gryffindor."
Amid the applause, Hermione's hair bounced with joy.
"Fifth, Mr. Neville Longbottom, who stepped up in the face of danger, also deserves 30 points for Gryffindor."
"Sixth, Harry Potter... He has shown great courage and extraordinary bravery, for which I award Gryffindor 50 points."
After Dumbledore finished speaking, Snape's face turned as black as the bottom of a pot.
Laughter filled the Gryffindor table, however, because the House Cup scores and rankings had changed.
Slytherin originally had 472 points, and with Draco's 30 points, it became 502 points.
Gryffindor now has 530 points, surpassing Slytherin and successfully winning the House Cup, which was once out of reach.
Old Deng is very cunning; he must have calculated all the scores!
“This means we need to make some small changes to the decorations here!” Dumbledore took out his elder wand and waved it lightly. The gloomy green in the Great Hall was instantly replaced by a passionate red, and the huge snake pattern was replaced by a majestic lion.
All three houses were celebrating Slytherin's defeat, and everyone at the Gryffindor long table wore a smile.
Harry's mouth was practically curled into a Joker grin; he figured he'd never forget this wonderful night.
The next morning, they received their final report cards for all subjects. Jimmy got excellent grades in everything except potions, while Hermione managed to get an excellent grade in potions!
The exams are over, and some are happy while others are sad.
Regardless, this academic year has finally come to an end.
Everyone received a notice during lunch containing some precautions for after leaving school. These precautions were only for newly enrolled wizards and included information about the prohibition of casting spells outside of school, as well as some rules related to the secrecy law.
Another day passed, and after breakfast and packing their luggage, everyone began their journey home.
Jimmy's suitcase was carried by Hermione, while he pulled Hermione's large suitcase as they said goodbye to Professor McGonagall.
That's right, he's going to Hermione's house for dinner again.
To be precise, we'll stay at Hermione's house for one night, find a shop to rent in Diagon Alley, and then move out.
He has already made arrangements with several recent graduates, who will come and work for him once his shop opens.
So Jimmy is always busy during the summer vacation.
Chapter 90 Invitation Failed
On the train, Jimmy, Hermione, Harry, Ron, and Neville squeezed into a compartment together.
Jimmy was dealing with Neville's enthusiasm at that moment.
"Jimmy, my grandma said she absolutely has to invite you over!"
"Okay, okay! I'll go when I'm done with my work."
Jimmy agreed, but he was also a little annoyed by Neville's enthusiasm. Neville looked like he would cry if he didn't agree, and he kept pulling and tugging at him, which gave him goosebumps.
Everyone else looked at him and laughed. Jimmy couldn't tell if they were happy for him or just laughing at him, but he wanted to get rid of Neville as soon as possible.
With tears welling up in his eyes, Neville said, "Tell me a time, or where I should find you?"
The bedridden parents suddenly recovered, all thanks to Jimmy's magic. Jimmy's kindness is endless!
“You can write to me, or find me in Diagon Alley. I’m planning to open a shop there.” Jimmy thought for a moment and said, “Let’s set the date for early August. I’ll be very busy in July.”
He was as busy as a horse, having to work hard to make a living, unlike the others in the private room who could still enjoy their childhood.
Ron joined in the fun, inviting Jimmy, "Jimmy can come over to my house too, and so can Harry. There's room for two more people, though it's a bit crowded."
“I really want to go, but…” Harry was tempted; it was something he longed for, but he doubted that Uncle Vernon would let him go out. “I have to go back and check before I decide. I can have Hathaway send you a letter.”
Hermione smiled and said to Harry, "I'll write to you too."
As it was time to part, Harry had so much to say. He wasn't usually a talkative person, but the melancholy of returning to his terrible family made him unusually talkative today.
In contrast, Jimmy didn't say much.
He fell fast asleep, his head resting on the rocket that had just had a good bath, washing away all the fatigue that had accumulated over the past year.
When the train stopped at King's Cross Station, Hermione shook him awake. "Wake up, Jimmy, we're here."
Jimmy stretched out a big yawn, and the others in the carriage had already retrieved their luggage from the racks and walked out of the carriage with the other students.
After leaving the train carriage, Neville immediately burst into tears because he spotted his parents in the crowd of people waiting to pick him up. "Dad, Mom!"
And of course, there was his grandmother, the lady who liked to put vulture specimens on her hat.
Neville's parents' eyes were also red. Heaven knows how Neville has survived these past eleven years. The three of them hugged each other and cried bitterly. Neville's grandmother, who had always taught him to be strong, could not hold back the tears welling up in her eyes and turned away to wipe them.
When Jimmy saw the family crying their hearts out, he quickly grabbed Hermione and ran away.
If he watched a little longer, Neville would definitely realize what was happening and drag his parents to find him. Just thinking about it gave him a headache.
They crossed Platform Nine and Three-Quarters with Harry and Ron and parted ways on the platform.
Harry was warmly received by Ron's parents, while Jimmy and Hermione carried their luggage toward Uncle George and Aunt Mia, who were not far away.
Once again, Uncle George took the luggage without a word and led the way, but he stared at the rocket with some curiosity, clearly interested in the muscular raccoon.
The two children chatted with Aunt Mia about school, occasionally letting out cheerful laughter.
Back at Granger's house, another sumptuous French meal was served. The British have an ascetic obsession with food; they deliberately make their food unpalatable, which is why many people don't like British cuisine.
After eating and drinking to their hearts' content, Jimmy returned to his guest room to take stock of his spoils. Hermione also changed into her pajamas, came to the guest room, and lay on the bed to read Lockhart's novel.
Lockhart's novels are the best abstinence medicine for controlling the urge to cast spells during holidays. In order to control the urge to cast spells, Hermione locked her wand in a safe as soon as she got back.
Now, only by reading Lockhart's legendary tales can she forget that she can no longer cast spells outside of school.
"Oh no, what a loss!"
Quirrell's most valuable possessions were in his robe, but all that remained were a little over thirty Galleons, a few bottles of common potions, and a notebook containing several dark magic spells.
Even including the robe with the Unseen Expansion Charm, its total value does not exceed 100 Galleons.
The robes and other valuables, along with the loot from the Defense Against the Dark Arts office, were far from enough to fill Jimmy's money hole. He not only failed to get money from Quirrell, but also lost money.
He immediately beat his chest and stamped his feet, rolling around on the carpet in distress, grabbing the rocket and shaking it incessantly.
Hermione, who was already used to this, kept her eyes glued to the pages of her book and calmly asked, "Are you really going to open a shop?"
"Of course, first I need to open a shop selling alchemical items. I already had enough money, but it's all that wretched Quirrell's fault. He made me lose a lot of money!"
When it comes to opening a shop, Jimmy has endless plans. He is very confident in his business plan, and he has some special concepts that do not even exist in the current Muggle society, let alone the wizarding world.
He is now learning more advanced alchemy, and when the time comes, he will make a chessboard similar to Wizard's Chess and sell it to Old Tom, so that Old Tom's shop can have more entertainment options.
With the profits from selling George and Fred's inventions and investing in other industries, and then using his extraordinary wisdom to snowball his wealth, he will soon become the richest man in the wizarding world!
"You're not going to do those weird things to make money in your second year, are you?" Hermione asked, sounding just like another Professor McGonagall, which was terrifying. "Don't do that. I don't want you to make money by breaking school rules."
Jimmy assured him, "Of course not. I have enough start-up capital. Don't worry, you'll see a gentleman like me in my second year!"
Although he currently only has a thousand gallons of wealth, he has already passed through the most barbaric and shameless stage of primitive accumulation. In the future, his meager gains will certainly not be as much as the profits from the shops.
"I'm not at all at ease."
