Hogwarts: Me? Fight Voldemort?
Page 64
They exited from the other side of the locomotive and, following the guidance of the streetlights, headed towards a dirt road where a dozen or so horse-drawn carriages were parked.
Many of the older students had already boarded the carriages, and Jimmy and Hermione got into one of them together.
Soon, Neville and Draco arrived, and the four of them boarded a carriage with empty seats. Two more people then climbed onto the carriage.
They are two Hufflepuff girls, Susan Burns and Hannah Abbott.
They entered the Great Hall through the main entrance to await the sorting of the new students into their respective houses. Hermione didn't see Harry and Ron at the dining table and immediately knew something bad was about to happen.
Especially when she saw the professors' faces at the long table, each one darker than the last.
Lockhart, dressed in a long gold robe and floor-length cape, was still displaying his triumphant smile, looking intently at the Daily Prophet in his hands.
Jimmy noticed that Professor Flitwick was also holding a newspaper, so he ran over to him and asked, "Professor Flitwick, I saw what's in the newspaper. May I borrow it to take a look?"
Even though Professor Flitwick was usually a nice guy, he wasn't exactly friendly now. "Alright, here's the newspaper for you. You really should take a look."
"Thank you, Professor Flitwick."
Jimmy took the newspaper, glanced at it, and immediately burst out laughing. The newspaper had captured, by some unknown photographer, the flying motion of the Weasley family's Angus car as it started moving.
He showed the newspaper to Hermione and the others at the table, and their reactions were varied.
Many of the Gryffindor students at the same table thought that this was incredibly cool!
Hermione, however, was already dizzy and clutching her head. "We're doomed! They not only broke school rules, but they also broke the secrecy law! They're definitely going to be expelled!"
Jimmy whispered to Hermione, "Don't worry, neither of them will be expelled. Dumbledore won't let the Savior drop out. And there's more good news: Gryffindor won't lose points since it's the first day of school!"
Unfortunately, Hermione wasn't happy. "This is really good news! When will they stop being so reckless?"
"Maybe I'll never?"
Before the new students even entered, Filch walked in from the side of the Great Hall and exchanged a few words with Professor Dumbledore at the long table.
Hermione had been watching the professors' table. She saw Professor Dumbledore call Professor Sprout over, whisper a few words to him, and then Professor Sprout stormed out of the Great Hall.
Hermione didn't know what Professor Dumbledore had said, but she had never seen Professor Sprout show such an angry expression before.
The newspaper that Jimmy had begged for was passed around the long table in Gryffindor. George and Fred immediately recognized the flying car in the newspaper and started shouting that Ron was driving it, not ashamed but proud.
At that moment, Professor McGonagall led the new students into the auditorium.
Chapter 109 Processing Results
The sorting ceremony for the new students began quickly, and this year's sorting caps sang a different song, meaning to focus on studying.
Professor McGonagall, looking grumpy, picked up the parchment and began to read, "Those whose names I call, please come to the front bench and await Sorting. Anna Abdullah..."
Hufflepuff!
clap clap clap!
With things as they were, there was no use in Hermione worrying anymore. She finally gave up thinking and joined the welcoming party for the new students.
As expected, Luna and Rolfe were assigned to Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, respectively.
As the Sorting Ceremony drew to a close, Professor Snape left the long table. Jimmy guessed he was going to scold Harry, and he really wanted to see it.
Just then, Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore, who had just finished their sorting, left through a small door, giving Jimmy an opportunity.
"Hermione, would you like to go see how Harry and the others handled it?"
Hermione looked at the table full of delicious food but had no appetite. Hearing his words, she said irritably, "I don't want to go."
“Okay, I’ll go with her and see. Can you get me some food?” Since Hermione wasn’t going, Jimmy got up and went to see for himself.
Seeing that he was about to leave, Hermione suddenly changed her mind and got up to go with him. "I think I'll go take a look together!"
The two slipped out through the side door and caught up with Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall.
Hermione wanted to follow them secretly, but Jimmy followed them openly. Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall walked ahead as if they were completely unaware, going down the stairs and into the Potions professor's office.
Snape's yelling could be heard coming from inside the office. The ones being yelled at were clearly Harry and Ron. Snape even said he would fire both of them.
Hermione turned pale with fright at those words, as if she were the one who had been fired.
Fortunately, Professor Dumbledore set the tone as soon as he entered, saying, "Not for the time being."
Jimmy and Hermione stood in the doorway, looking inside. They were so brazen that Snape, who was facing the doorway, saw them directly.
"Who's hiding there!"
Upon realizing he had been discovered, Jimmy didn't hesitate and walked straight into the office, saying, "I'm looking for Professor Dumbledore."
Snape was already in a bad mood, and seeing Jimmy's smug expression only made him angrier. "A famous person like you, relying on your reputation to ignore school rules and barge into my office! You're very good, Blaine!"
Harry and Ron both looked at Jimmy in surprise at the doorway, and Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall also turned around.
Hermione, who had been hiding behind the door, stepped out nervously. She had no excuse and could only stand there without saying a word.
"Thank you for the compliment." Jimmy nodded slightly to Snape.
"Anyone who can understand human speech knows I'm not praising you, unless you're as stupid as a troll!" If it weren't for the fact that it was the beginning of the semester and grades weren't yet given, Snape would definitely have deducted 100 points from Gryffindor for that statement.
Dumbledore remained calm; he already knew that Jimmy and the other man were following him. "Mr. Blaine, you can wait for me in my office after dinner. The password is 'Cheese Snow Leopard,' your shop's new product."
Harry and Ron almost laughed when they heard the headmaster's office command was the name of a drink.
"I'll go in a bit," Jimmy pleaded, feigning a pitiful look. "We want to know the results of Harry and Ron's punishment, please."
“They need to realize how serious their actions are.” Professor McGonagall’s face was stern, her eyebrows merely furrowed, but the anger in her eyes made Harry and Ron avoid her gaze. “Explain yourselves.”
Neither of them had any idea how big of a mess they had made. Compared to their behavior, Jimmy last semester was practically harmless.
Jimmy was laughing gleefully, knowing that neither of them would be fired anyway.
Harry and Ron, seeing an opportunity to explain, immediately began to explain why they had driven the car.
“We can’t get into the station. That partition wall won’t let us through. If we bump into it, it’s like bumping into a real wall.”
"...We have no other choice, Professor, we can't get on the train."
Just because of this?
Hermione considered many reasons, but she never thought it was because she missed the train. She couldn't help but scold, "Harry, you have Hedwig."
Harry lowered his head even further; he only remembered he could use Hedwig to deliver the message after he got on the train.
“That’s right. Why don’t we send an owl to deliver the message?” Professor McGonagall stared at the two men, making them appear even smaller.
Dumbledore's eyes also showed disappointment. He deliberately put pressure on you, saying, "I must make you realize the seriousness of your actions. I will write to your families tonight. I must also warn you that if you continue to behave like this, I will have no choice but to expel you."
Despite his serious tone, Harry, Ron, and Hermione breathed a sigh of relief, knowing they wouldn't be expelled this time.
There was still someone in the room who wouldn't let it go, and that was Snape. His expression was as if he had heard that the holiday had been canceled. "These two students not only disregarded the 'Law on Reasonable Restraint of Underage Wizards,' but also caused serious damage to a precious ancient tree. This kind of behavior should of course be expelled!"
“Let Minerva decide the punishment for these two students, Severus,” Dumbledore immediately began to smooth things over. “They are students in her house, and it is her responsibility.”
He turned to Professor McGonagall, “I must return to the banquet to announce a few things. Come on, Severus, and Blaine and Granger, there’s an eggnog pie that looks quite nice, and I’d like to try it.”
Dumbledore walked out of the Potions Department office, and Professor Snape followed with a gloomy face.
As Jimmy walked out of the office, he saw Professor Snape's cold gaze, as if he had become Professor Snape's enemy.
Jimmy gave Harry and Ron a "good luck" look, then led a completely relieved Hermione back to the Great Hall.
Back in the auditorium, he told the others the results in advance, though they didn't say anything on the surface, they were also very worried.
They were completely relieved to learn that Harry and Ron would not be expelled.
After dinner, Dumbledore stood up and tapped his glass. The young wizards in the Great Hall gradually quieted down and looked at their headmaster.
Perhaps because of what happened between Harry and Ron, the announcement that should have been made before the banquet was postponed until after the meal: the appointment of a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.
"Hogwarts has a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, as I think you have all seen... I am delighted to welcome Professor Gilderoy Lockhart to the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor."
Girls at all four long tables were screaming in terror, while applause was like a torrential downpour. The boys, on the other hand, remained silent. None of the boys who had seen Gilderoy Lockhart would like him.
Gilderoy Lockhart, sitting at the long table, stood up to the applause and flashed that disgusting smile at those around him.
Fortunately, he didn't go to the front and give a narcissistic speech, or Jimmy would have thrown up all the food he ate.
Chapter 110 Old Deng's Means of Production
"Hermione, you go back first. I need to see Professor Dumbledore." After finishing the usual school rules speech, Jimmy got up and prepared to go to the headmaster's office to find Dumbledore.
Hermione looked at him in surprise. "So you're really going to see Professor Dumbledore?"
"Of course, I rarely lie."
"Really? See you later."
See you later.
The principal's office is in a separate tower, located in a very conspicuous spot if you walk straight to the left after leaving the auditorium.
The headmaster's office is guarded by a gargoyle, an incredibly ugly monster. These humanoid stone statues can be found all over Hogwarts Castle, and some can even communicate with young wizards.
Jimmy walked up to the dripping stone beast and said the command, "Cheese Snow Leopard."
The dripping stone beast jumped to the side, revealing the spiral staircase behind it.
Go up the spiral staircase and push open the door to find the principal's office.
The office was cluttered with various items, seemingly messily piled on shelves against the wall. The desks behind were filled with oddly shaped ornaments, emitting misty steam or making tinkling noises.
Jimmy saw Dumbledore leave through the side door, but he didn't see Dumbledore in the office, and the Sorting Hat was still in Professor McGonagall's hands.
He could only look at the portraits of the principals on the wall, and those portraits were looking at him too.
Just as I was about to speak to the portraits, the office door behind me suddenly opened, and Professor Dumbledore, looking travel-worn, returned wearing the Sorting Hat.
"Fortunately, the Whomping Willow wasn't badly injured; it's the only one in all of England," Dumbledore said thankfully, putting the Sorting Hat back on the shelf behind his desk. Then he took a teapot and teacups from the tea stand beside the desk and poured two glasses of strong honey water.
These two glasses of honey water contain only honey and no water.
Jimmy declined upon smelling the cloying sweetness, saying, "Thank you, but I don't really like things that are too sweet."
"How about black tea instead?" Dumbledore waved his hand gently, and the folding round table placed in the corner flew to a small open space in front of the desk.
Two chairs were placed down, one on the left and one on the right, and teacups were placed on the table.
Looking at the cup again, the honey water inside had turned into clear black tea. Only then did Jimmy dare to pick up the cup and take a sip. He put the cup down and got straight to the point, "Professor Dumbledore, I have something to sell you."
