Chapter 528 Ming Fei Displays Divine Power (Part 1)

Caesar's right arm was slightly numb from the parry, but his breathing was as steady as the sea after the tide had receded. The three faced each other in the dim light. Chu Zihang's black knife pointed diagonally at the ground, Caesar's Dick Tudor was held horizontally in front of his chest, and Lu Mingfei was huddled between the two. He was now not only an imposter, but also a buffer between them.

"Is it really necessary to fight this fiercely?" Chu Zihang suddenly roared, his frustration almost overflowing. This was not his usual style; this perpetually calm killer rarely lost his composure like this. "They all recognize me now, can't they stop?"

The roar echoed through the empty hall, drowning out the crackling of the flames in the distance. The biker gang members were stunned; they didn't understand Chinese, but they could hear the anger in the voice.

Caesar roared back almost immediately: "Damn it! How could they be sure it was you? I couldn't see clearly in the dark! If it were a Japanese swordsman from the same school as you, I would be dead the moment I stopped!"

In a blade-fighting battle in the dark, mistaking one person for another means death. This explanation makes sense, but to Lu Mingfei, it sounds more like the two of them trying to find a way to save face for their overreaction.

"We can deal with internal conflicts after we escape! Let's unite against the enemy! Unite against the enemy!" Lu Mingfei shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice sharp with tension.

He stood between the two, his hands pressing down as if to act as a mediator, even though his cheongsam and high heels made the pose look particularly comical.

In fact, after several rounds of offense and defense, both Caesar and Chu Zihang had already vaguely guessed each other's identities. The fact that they exchanged dozens of blows in complete darkness without either side being injured was not because they were evenly matched, but because their offensive and defensive tactics had been practiced countless times.

Chu Zihang is widely recognized as the best swordsman in the undergraduate program at Kassel College. Caesar, this proud Italian nobleman, however, is determined to defeat his opponent in his strongest subject. They both practice close combat against each other, using each other as their hypothetical adversary, each other's every move etched into their very bones.

The only time Caesar defeated Chu Zihang in a sword duel was with the move "Over the Saddle Slash" that we just saw. Chu Zihang pondered this for a month and finally found a way to counter it, using the most basic Chinese swordsmanship technique, "Su Qin Carrying His Sword," to deal with it.

This technique had never appeared in any swordsmanship manual, nor could it have been known to anyone else. Therefore, when Dick slashed at the latter half of the black sword, both of them confirmed each other's identities.

What should have been a moment of relief after escaping death, a moment of joy after a long separation, was all if we ignored the fact that Chu Zihang had almost beheaded Lu Mingfei and Caesar had nearly pierced Chu Zihang's armpit with an assassination knife.

But reality didn't give them a chance to exchange pleasantries.

The sound of short-barreled shotguns being cocked rang out rapidly. One, two, ten… The biker gang members, recovering from their initial shock, realized that these three uninvited guests were not a group, or at least not entirely a group. And whatever their internal conflicts might be, to these boys, they were all intruders.

Lu Mingfei was the first to react. Not because he had better hearing, but because he had been in a state of high tension the whole time. While Caesar and Chu Zihang were focused on their duel, Lu Mingfei's eyes were constantly scanning the surroundings. He saw several of the knocked-down biker gang members sneaking towards the fallen guns.

"Gun!" Lu Mingfei only managed to shout that one word.

The gunshot rang out the next second.

The deafening roar was like a thousand war drums beating simultaneously. A barrage of bullets rained down, the dull thuds of buckshot explosions mingled with sharper whistles – the sound of Parabellum rounds. Surprisingly, some members of the biker gang were using Beretta pistols, the standard issue for the US Army, considered high-end items on the Japanese black market.

"There's an MP7! Take cover! Take cover!" Caesar's shout was almost drowned out by the gunfire.

He was right. Above the 9mm gunfire of the Beretta, there was an even denser, higher-frequency burst of fire that overwhelmed everything, as three MP7 submachine guns roared simultaneously.

Buckshot is incredibly powerful in close combat, but its penetration is extremely poor; it only manages to shatter the marble walls of the hall, sending up a cloud of white dust. However, the 4.6mm copper-cased, steel-core hardened bullet used in the MP7 is practically designed to penetrate body armor. Caesar knew all too well the power of this bullet.

Almost simultaneously, Caesar grabbed Chu Zihang and Lu Mingfei by the collar and dragged them to the ground with brute force. The three of them tumbled together, one of Lu Mingfei's high heels flew off, and the hem of her cheongsam was completely torn.

Within two seconds of them crouching down, a dense array of bullet holes appeared on the wall opposite them, arranged in a terrifying fan shape. MP7 bullets pierced through the marble counter, exiting from the other side and leaving deep craters in the wall.

“These guys came prepared; they’re not ordinary thugs.” Chu Zihang lay on the ground, his black knife held horizontally in front of him, his voice chillingly calm. “They’re here to kill us. They’re very well prepared.”

"I give up!" Caesar gritted his teeth, his blond hair dull from the dust. "A swarm of rats is trying to kill us!"

The MP7 gunfire temporarily ceased. The biker gang members cheered loudly as they changed magazines, their rough laughter and curses rising and falling.

The others cheered, applauding the three heroic gunmen wielding MP7s. The three trained teenagers loaded their weapons with practiced ease. The boys, armed with Berettas, spread out around them, forming a protective circle. More than twenty boys, shoulder to shoulder, slowly and menacingly approached.

These boys' heart rates exceeded 180 beats per minute. Adrenaline was surging, dramatically awakening their potential but also placing a tremendous burden on their hearts. Their blood flow was extremely rapid, and their blood pressure soared to more than twice the normal level.

If it were a middle-aged person, their body would already be on the verge of collapse. But these boys, relying on their youth, persevered and gained significantly improved physical strength, reaction speed, and reduced pain sensitivity.

No wonder the boy Caesar knocked down in the corridor remained conscious despite having a fractured jaw. Adrenaline not only boosts physical performance but also significantly reduces pain and enhances nerve reflexes.

In a state of heightened agitation, rioters can act more impulsively and recklessly than usual. For example, they might shoot people indiscriminately.

The boys were indeed prepared to do so. But they wanted to get closer before firing, maximizing the power of their weapons. Three meters was a lethal spread for buckshot. For the MP7 and Beretta, it was a killing opportunity where they couldn't possibly miss.

“It’s necessary to use the power of words, but school rules prohibit using it on ordinary people,” Chu Zihang said in a low voice, his eyes fixed on the approaching crowd, calculating the distance.

“Go ahead and use it,” Caesar said coldly, his fingers gripping the hilt of Dicket’s sword. “I’ll take responsibility.”

"Long live the Red Cavalry!" someone roared from the crowd, the battle cry of the Takeda clan's Red Cavalry cavalry during the Sengoku period.

The boys pulled the trigger together.

Various firearms spewed bright muzzle flashes, illuminating the dimly lit hall as if it were daytime. The powerful bullets from Beretta and MP7s completely shattered the marble countertop, sending rubble and dust flying into the sky.

But even more spectacular than these two military weapons were the hundreds of lead bullets fired from a dozen short-barreled shotguns, forming a subsonic swarm that completely covered the top, bottom, and sides of the marble countertop.

The boys screamed excitedly, but their screams were quickly replaced by cries of pain.

The dense bullets bounced off the marble countertop, then ricocheted a second and third time off the floor and ceiling, covering the boys from the front, above, left, and right. Although the subsonic bullets lacked penetrating power, their kinetic energy remained, striking their bare arms, cheeks, and necks, immediately leaving purplish-blue bumps and fine blood spots.

“Foolish, don’t you know how to ricochet?” Caesar sneered, slowly rising from behind the collapsed counter and brushing the dust off his clothes.

While others received video game consoles as fourteenth birthday gifts, he received a pair of custom-made Desert Eagles. He was intimately familiar with the characteristics of firearms and ammunition.

Caesar had grown tired of buckshot before he was sixteen. This type of bullet was extremely dangerous to fire at close range at large, hard targets, such as marble walls. The kinetic energy of the gunpowder explosion was distributed to each lead bullet, which had a very low velocity, far less than a penetrating 4.6mm hard bullet. The lead bullet would bounce off hard surfaces, often resulting in the shooter being the one who suffered the consequences.

These idiots only fired when they were only three meters away from the counter, and immediately learned the hard way about their greed.

Each boy was hit by at least a few lead bullets, but fortunately, the ricocheting reduced their kinetic energy and prevented them from being fatal. However, fueled by adrenaline, they felt little pain, cursing as they retreated while frantically reloading their shotguns, trying to organize a second volley.

But at that moment, Lu Mingfei moved, his movements unusually fast.

It wasn't just "very fast," it was "so fast it was almost invisible." In the instant the biker gang members were thrown into chaos by the ricocheting lead bullets, Lu Mingfei darted across the ten-meter distance between them like a ghost. He was wearing a tattered cheongsam and was barefoot, yet his speed surpassed human limits.

Word of Power: Time Zero.

The world seemed to slow down in his perception. The muzzle flashes were like a slow-motion film, the bullets spun slowly in the air, and the expressions of pain on the faces of the biker gang members changed frame by frame. Lu Mingfei dodged a slowly flying lead bullet and bent down to pick up a fallen metal baseball bat.

Then he rushed into the crowd.

Time resumes flow rate.

"boom!"

The metal baseball bat slammed into the wrist of a boy who was reloading an MP7. The crisp sound of cracking wrist bones was drowned out by screams, and the MP7 flew out of his hand. Lu Mingfei didn't stop; he spun around, the bat sweeping across, striking the side of the knee of another boy holding a Beretta. That boy screamed and fell to the ground.

The third boy reacted, raising his shotgun and aiming it at Lu Mingfei. But Lu Mingfei was faster; he stepped forward, grabbed the barrel with his left hand and pushed it upwards, while his right hand smashed the boy's chin with a baseball bat from below. The boy fell backwards, his mouth full of blood.

In less than three seconds, Lu Mingfei took down three of the most threatening gunmen.

Chapter 529 Ming Fei Displays Divine Power (Part 2)

Caesar and Chu Zihang were both stunned.

They certainly knew that Lu Mingfei possessed the power of words, and they also knew the terror of Time Zero. But seeing their usually timid junior brother suddenly unleash such combat power in actual combat still exceeded their expectations.

Lu Mingfei himself was stunned. He stood there, panting, looking at the blood-stained baseball bat in his hand, then at the three groaning boys on the ground. In that instant, his body had reacted automatically, like the instinct that erupted when he was pushed to the brink by the instructors on the training field at Kassel College.

But he didn't have time to think it through, because more bikers surrounded him. They were enraged by Lu Mingfei's sudden outburst, howling like wild beasts and charging at him with various weapons in hand.

Lu Mingfei took a deep breath and activated Time Zero again.

The world seemed to slow down again. This time he could see more clearly: five people ahead of him. The one on the far left was wielding a machete, making the most large movements and revealing the most openings. The two in the middle were holding metal baseball bats, their attack paths intersecting. The two on the right were holding hunting rifles, but the muzzles weren't yet aimed.

Lu Mingfei first stepped to the left, his metal baseball bat slashing upwards, striking the wrist of the boy with the knife precisely. The machete flew through the air. Then, Lu Mingfei spun around, his bat sweeping across, simultaneously striking the ribs of both boys with baseball bats. The two groaned and staggered back.

In the final two steps, Lu Mingfei charged forward and, just before the two boys on the right pulled the trigger, stabbed one of them in the abdomen with the end of his baseball bat, while grabbing the other boy's gun barrel with his other hand and pulling him to the side.

"Bang!" The shotgun misfired, and the bullet hit the wall next to it.

Time resumes flow rate.

The five teenagers fell or staggered almost simultaneously. Lu Mingfei stood among them, the hem of his cheongsam fluttering in the smoke. His breathing was rapid, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead; the continuous use of Time Zero had taken a huge toll on his stamina.

"What are you two standing there for?" Lu Mingfei shouted as he turned around, "Help me!"

Caesar and Chu Zihang then realized what was happening.

Chu Zihang's recitation rang out at the same time.

Ancient dragon runes echoed in the hall, heavy and terrifying, like an ancient bell tolling in an abyss. His eyes gleamed with a faint gold in the dim light.

The air temperature rises.

The light was like a sunrise, not a gentle dawn, but the fiery glow of a volcanic eruption. A crimson wall appeared out of nowhere, sweeping across and engulfing the boy who was reorganizing his attack. The temperature around him instantly rose to five or six hundred degrees Celsius; the scorching air entering his respiratory tract could even burn his trachea.

Chu Zihang stood where the crimson wall had been born. Arcs of black and red light flowed across the circular, transparent surface around him. His eyes had turned completely molten gold.

Word of Power: Monarch's Flame. This is the most conservative way to unleash power; it generates instantaneous high temperatures, but it's not enough to kill.

The temperature dropped rapidly, and the hall was filled with the smell of burning skin and the boys' painful groans.

Caesar strode across the scorching ground, deftly picking up the short-barreled shotguns and ammunition belts left behind by the bikers. Of course, he didn't overlook the MP7s and Berettas either; three MP7s, five Berettas, and a dozen or so ammunition belts quickly piled up into a small mountain at his feet.

The boys suffered severe burns to their bodies, and even adrenaline was no longer effective. They rolled on the ground in pain, some curled up in a ball, others scratching their burned skin.

Lu Mingfei rushed over. He wasn't there to finish off the remaining biker, but to stomp on the struggling biker. His high-heeled foot stomped hard on the back of a green-haired boy, who let out a miserable howl and almost passed out.

"You dare touch my butt! You dare touch it!" Lu Mingfei cursed as he stomped on it. "You little bastards! The youngest of you is probably only sixteen or seventeen, and the oldest is just over twenty, but human life is nothing to you, right? You chose the wrong opponent, didn't you? Hmm?"

High heels are truly wonderful; the slender heels pressing down on flesh cause intense pain without causing fatal injuries. Lu Mingfei stomped on them with great satisfaction, his cheongsam billowing with his movements, revealing his black safety shorts underneath. The scene was both bizarre and comical, but no one could laugh at that moment.

Chu Zihang walked over to Lu Mingfei, looked at him for a few seconds, and seemed to want to say something, but in the end he just squeezed out a dry sentence: "It fits well and looks great."

He truly didn't know how to face this junior brother, who was dressed in a cheongsam and exuded a captivating charm.

Lu Mingfei's appearance at this moment was completely out of place for the word "battle." His cheongsam was torn in several places, revealing a section of his thigh and half of his shoulder. His hair was disheveled and messy, and his face was covered in dust and blood. One foot was wearing a high heel, while the other was bare, and his sock was nowhere to be seen.

Lu Mingfei stopped stepping on the person, turned to look at Chu Zihang, and grinned in a smile that looked more like a grimace: "Senior brother, can you say something else at a time like this?"

Chu Zihang fell silent; he really, really wasn't good at talking.

One minute later.

"Buzz! Buzz!"

The high-pitched sound of engines drew rapidly closer.

Not just one, but many. The first to rush into the hall was a black heavy cruiser motorcycle, the rider wielding a long sword overhead like an ancient cavalry charge, emitting a beast-like howl.

Behind him, countless car headlights formed a bright curtain of light. The gunshots and explosions had drawn all the biker gang members outside to the freight corridor. The dense array of car headlights, like the eyes of a monster, illuminated the area outside the hall as if it were daytime.

The rider yanked the handlebars, sending the motorcycle soaring into the air. This biker had clearly received formal swordsmanship training; he lunged forward and slashed with a cavalry saber. As he slashed at Chu Zihang, he simultaneously rammed the motorcycle into Caesar. The motorcycle and rider together weighed several hundred kilograms; a collision would inevitably result in fractures.

Chu Zihang didn't even look at him directly.

The black longsword rose from below, and Chu Zihang simply turned slightly to the side, casually swinging out the most basic "reverse kesa" move in Japanese swordsmanship.

A flash of light, and the biker's knife split apart along with the motorcycle's front wheel. The motorcycle crashed to the ground like a horse that had lost its footing, the rider thrown off balance by the momentum. Chu Zihang leaped into the air and delivered a powerful knee strike to the biker's abdomen, sending him flying four or five meters away before he slid down against a wall, collapsing limply.

His murderous nature began to surface, and he no longer controlled his strength when he attacked.

Caesar didn't move an inch, his head down as he sorted through the deer bullet belts he'd just picked up, as if everything before him was irrelevant. If Chu Zihang couldn't handle such a minor character, he shouldn't be working at Kassel College.

But the problem is that there isn't just one minor character.
