Caesar didn't reply. He put away his gun, leaned against the tree trunk, and closed his eyes.

Chu Zihang kept his eyes glued to the tracker's monitor. The red dot was still flashing in place, without moving.

As the morning light grew brighter, birds began to sing in the park. A new day had officially begun.

The unease in Lu Mingfei's heart was like a seed, quietly sprouting, growing, and entwining his heart in the darkness.

He had a feeling that their story with Zhen was not over yet.

Chapter 538 The Red-Clad Chariot

The rain poured down, large raindrops pounding against the car roof with a dense, heavy patter, like countless hands simultaneously pounding a tin drum. In the distance, from the open-air parking lot, sirens wailed incessantly, their red and blue flashing lights piercing the rain. The downpour had soaked the electrical system, triggering the luxury sports car's extremely sensitive anti-theft system.

The main road outside the alley, however, presents a strange scene.

A dozen or so heavily modified luxury sports cars were parked side by side on the roadside, their engines still running, their deep roars sounding like the panting of wild beasts in the rainy night. Headlights were on full blast, beams of white light piercing the rain and illuminating the street as if it were daytime.

But the car was empty. The bikers, who prided themselves on being "men like the wind," believed in arriving and leaving gracefully, and rarely had the habit of parking properly. If they only needed to run errands for a short time, they would park the car on the side of the road with a roar, the engine's roar and the dazzling lights themselves a declaration: We are here, we are fearless.

Akabane never worries about anyone stealing their cars. They are the only and largest biker gang in the Chizuru-cho area, and 99% of stolen vehicles in Tokyo end up being modified and resold by them. If anyone dares to steal an Akabane car, it will eventually fall into their hands, and the thief usually suffers a much worse fate than the car itself.

Lu Mingfei poked half his head out of the alleyway, his hair immediately soaked by the rain. He stared wide-eyed at the row of sports cars lining the street.

He had never seen such an extravagant lineup of sports cars. These cars were so low they practically hugged the ground, their streamlined curves as graceful yet powerful as a young woman's figure. Each one had undergone a thorough and brutal modification.

The carbon fiber hood gleamed coldly in the rain, and the exaggerated body kit made the whole car look like a beast ready to pounce. The body was covered with various themed decals: flames, skulls, cherry blossoms, and enchanting women in the style of ukiyo-e prints. Colorful LED light strips were also installed under the car and around the wheels, stubbornly shining even in the downpour, turning the water around the wheels into a psychedelic color.

"My God," Lu Mingfei muttered, "These guys have modified the car to look like an alien spaceship from a science fiction movie."

They crawled along the sewers for two blocks, then circled back to the vicinity of the Mambo Internet Cafe—not to walk into a trap, but to steal the car. In a city like Tokyo, without transportation, one is no different from a trapped animal.

Caesar's gaze swept across the row of cars, finally settling on a fiery red Viper. That car was parked on the outermost side, in the best and most conspicuous position. A ferocious giant snake was painted on its body, its forked tongue a vibrant red, as if it might leap from beneath the paint at any moment to bite.

“That’s it,” Caesar said, his tone as casual as if he were just grabbing a bottle of water in a supermarket.

The three men braved the rain and rushed towards the Viper. Caesar opened the car door and got into the driver's seat, while Chu Zihang quickly moved to the passenger side. Lu Mingfei looked at the two of them, paused for a moment, and asked, "Where am I supposed to sit?"

The Viper supercar only has two seats.

Chu Zihang glanced at him, said nothing, and simply patted his thigh.

Lu Mingfei's face fell: "No way, senior brother."

"Hurry up," Chu Zihang's voice sounded particularly cold amidst the sound of rain.

Lu Mingfei gritted his teeth, opened the passenger door, and squeezed in. To be precise, he sat on Chu Zihang's lap. Chu Zihang immediately wrapped his arms around Lu Mingfei's waist, the movement as natural as if he had rehearsed it countless times. This position reminded Lu Mingfei of those thugs in movies, riding high with cheongsam-clad women they'd brought from nightclubs.

But now, he is the woman in the cheongsam.

To make matters worse, the Viper's roof was too low. Lu Mingfei sat up straight, his head almost touching the roof. He could only tilt his neck, his entire face pressed against the cold windshield, the icy touch making him shiver.

“Hey senior brother,” Lu Mingfei turned his head with difficulty, rainwater streaming down the glass and leaving crooked streaks on his cheeks, “you don’t have to hold me so tightly, do you? Although I’m quite proud of my slender waist, it’s tickling when you pinch my waist like this. When I’m ticklish, I want to say dirty things, and when I say dirty things, it’s easy to do them.”

"Shut up," Chu Zihang interrupted him, his grip on his hand not loosening at all. "The seatbelt can't hold you in. If I don't hold on tight, you'll fly out of the windshield as soon as Caesar starts moving."

Lu Mingfei wanted to say something more, but Caesar's actions made him swallow his words.

After Caesar sat in the cockpit, he didn't start the vehicle immediately. He first reached out and gently touched the leather armrest, then brought his fingers to his nose and smelled them. His brow furrowed.

“Drugs,” Caesar said, his voice filled with disgust, “and LSD. I was wondering why those boys’ hearts were beating so fast. Adrenaline was one thing, but these guys were clearly on drugs.”

Chu Zihang had already opened the glove box. He rummaged through it and took out a small white powder packaged in a plastic bag, about the size of a fist. He tore open a corner of the bag, dipped his fingertip in it, and tasted it on his tongue. This was a skill he had been trained in at Kassel College—quickly determining the type and purity of drugs through minute tasting and observation.

“Heroin,” Chu Zihang said, tossing the bag back into the glove compartment expressionlessly. “It’s very pure. No wonder they can afford such expensive sports cars. Besides racing, they also deal drugs.”

"I knew it!" Lu Mingfei said angrily, his face still pressed against the glass, his voice slightly distorted, "How could a bunch of thugs afford such an expensive and cool sports car! They all made their dirty money from drug trafficking! Bastards!"

Caesar had already fastened his seatbelt. His hands slid across the steering wheel, savoring the car's feel. Then, he let out a disdainful sneer.

"The Viper is such a cheap car," Caesar said, his disdain undisguised. "American muscle cars rely entirely on large displacement engines for acceleration, with no technological content whatsoever, and the taste is unbearably bad. The Bugatti Veyron I lost to you could buy 20 of these cars."

Lu Mingfei rolled his eyes, though his current posture made the gesture look ridiculous: "Please, boss, make do with what you have! Think about my neck, which is about to break! Can't you just drive already?"

Caesar didn't answer. His hand groped beneath the dashboard, finding several buttons. He pressed one, and the blood-red speedometer lit up, its scales stretching to astonishing numbers. On the center console, a huge snake head logo slowly illuminated, its eyes glowing red, looking particularly eerie in the dimly lit car.

Next, Caesar located the switch for the electronic stabilization system. He turned it off without hesitation.

The words "ESC FULL OFF" appeared on the dashboard.

"Did you turn off the electronic stability system?" Chu Zihang asked. His voice remained calm, but Lu Mingfei could feel the arms around his waist tighten slightly.

“Only novice drivers of family cars need electronic control systems to help them keep the car stable,” Caesar said, his fingers tapping lightly on the steering wheel as if playing a musical instrument. “For a driver of my level, electronic control systems would only limit me. I prefer to have my hands directly in control of this violent machine.”

Lu Mingfei suddenly remembered that Caesar was racing on the Nürburgring when he was thirteen years old. That track, known as the "Green Hell," winds through the mountains, with dense forests on both sides, and the curves are so steep that even professional drivers are terrified.

Caesar was the one who raced cars there.

"Hold on tight," Caesar said, not as a reminder, but as a declaration.

He floored the accelerator.

The Viper's engine roared deafeningly, its eight-cylinder engine unleashing its full power in an instant. The car seemed to be launched from its spot, the immense acceleration slamming the three people hard into their seats.

To be precise, Caesar and Chu Zihang were pressed into their seats, while Lu Mingfei was pressed against the windshield, his face squeezed and distorted, like a comical sticker.

Then--

"boom!"

The viper slammed into the taillight of a silver-gray GTR in front of it. The impact wasn't particularly violent, but it was enough to make the GTR slide forward half a meter, shattering the taillight and sending fragments flying in the rain.

Chu Zihang was prepared. At the moment of impact, he not only grabbed Lu Mingfei's waist tightly but also used his other hand to brace himself against the dashboard, stabilizing both of them. Otherwise, Lu Mingfei might have actually crashed through the glass and been thrown out.

"My face," Lu Mingfei groaned, trying to "tear" himself off the glass.

Caesar didn't give him time. He shifted into reverse, the Viper backed up a few meters, and then floored the accelerator again.

"Hold me tight!" Lu Mingfei screamed.

This time, Chu Zihang truly showed no mercy and tightened his grip around his waist. The viper lunged backward like a red lightning bolt, slamming hard into the side door of an Audi R8 behind it. The impact was even greater than before; the R8 was thrown sideways for more than ten meters, crashing into the roadside guardrail, its door dented, and its windows shattered like a spiderweb.

The fiery red Viper moved through the traffic like a suddenly rampaging beast, charging forward and backward with brutal precision. Each impact was timed perfectly, not to destroy the cars, but to force them aside and create a path for itself.

Porsche 911, Lamborghini, Ferrari... these supercars worth millions or even tens of millions of yen were smashed and tossed about like toys under Caesar's driving.

The Viper's front and rear bumpers were detached, one of the headlights was broken, and the hood was slightly raised. But Caesar didn't care at all. In his eyes, the Viper was just a cheap car, good only for bumper cars. He didn't even flinch when he lost that Bugatti Veyron worth over two million euros to Lu Mingfei back then.

But in Lu Mingfei's mind, every collision was a windfall of money. Any one of these sports cars could have kept him a living off Kassel College for years. And now, they were colliding with each other in the rainy night, taillights shattered, glass shards flying, bumpers falling off, and money scattering everywhere.

What pained him even more was that the trunk of one of the cars had been blown open in the impact. A black leather suitcase lay on the ground, its lid cracked open, and stacks of ten-thousand-yuan bills spilled out, tumbling and fluttering in the torrential rain and gale. The Viper's wheels mercilessly ran over the banknotes, pressing them into the mud.

Chapter 539 Lu Mingfei: You Drive, I Shoot

"It would be good to pick up a little bit!" Lu Mingfei said, almost wailing.

"This must be the payment the mastermind paid them to kill us, right?" Caesar sneered, jerking the steering wheel. The Viper drifted with a near-drift maneuver, its rear end brushing against the front of another sports car. "Still haven't even opened the box yet, how pathetic."

“We can’t get out of the car to pick up the money,” Chu Zihang said, his eyes fixed on the direction of the internet cafe. “They could rush out at any moment.”

His right arm was still around Lu Mingfei's waist, but his left hand had already raised the MP7 submachine gun, pointing it at the door of the Mambo Internet Cafe. The heavy rain pounded against the gun, making a soft, rhythmic sound.

Just then, Chu Zihang suddenly felt a lightness around his waist—Lu Mingfei's hand had broken free from his arm and reached behind the seat.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Chu Zihang frowned.

Lu Mingfei didn't answer. His hand groped behind the seat and then grabbed a cold, metallic object. He pulled hard and yanked it out.

It was a short-barreled shotgun, with the barrel shortened and the stock modified to be folding. Clearly, it was the car owner's "spare weapon."

Lu Mingfei held the shotgun horizontally in front of him and checked the magazine; there were two buckshot rounds inside. He took a deep breath and tried to steady himself in the bumpy car.

"What are you doing with that gun?" Chu Zihang asked.

“I’ll help,” Lu Mingfei replied briefly.

Caesar made such a commotion for a clear purpose: to lure the bikers out of the internet cafe. He was absolutely confident he could win a car chase on the open streets. He'd much rather race these bikers in the rainy night than face dozens of guns in a cramped indoor space.

He wanted to teach these Japanese boys a lesson about what real driving is and what real outlaws are.

The door to the internet cafe was suddenly pushed open.

The biker gangs rushed out in droves. They heard the crashes and sirens outside, knowing their beloved cars were being wrecked. But when they actually saw what was happening on the street, their first reaction wasn't to raise their guns and shoot, but rather—

Kneel on both knees.

Yes, they knelt down. Several teenagers, upon seeing their wrecked sports car, collapsed to their knees in the rain. Their faces showed expressions of despair, hopelessness, and disbelief, as if they were watching their beloved women being publicly humiliated.

For many of them, these cars were more than just transportation; they were status symbols, sources of pride, and their entire fortune. They would sell drugs, rob, or even kill for these cars. And now, these cars are being tossed around like toys by a fiery red Viper.

Caesar was driving his Viper over the side wing of a Porsche 911. The carbon fiber wing shattered beneath the wheel, making a heartbreaking crunching sound.

"Aaaaaahhhhhh—", a boy let out a beast-like howl.

But the howling was quickly interrupted by gunfire.

Chu Zihang fired his MP7 continuously, bright flashes of light shooting out from the passenger window, the gunshots ringing out sharply in the rainy night. He didn't aim at the kneeling boy; instead, he raised his gun slightly, aiming at the massive, three-story-high neon sign at the entrance of the Mambo Internet Cafe.

The bullets struck the supporting structure of the sign. Once, twice, three times…

At almost the same time, Lu Mingfei also made a move.

He struggled to twist his body and stick the barrel of his shotgun out of the window. The Viper, being a two-door sports car, actually had a very small side window at the back, barely big enough for a gun barrel to extend.

Lu Mingfei wasn't aiming at the neon signs. His target was the biker gang members who had already rushed towards the sports cars, ready to give chase.

No, more accurately, it's the tires of those sports cars.

He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. Raindrops pelted the gun barrel, splashing up tiny droplets. His eyes strained to focus in the downpour, aiming at the front wheel of a GTR that had just started its engine.

The realm of time zero quietly unfolded.

The world seemed to slow down. Raindrops drifted slowly through the air, the GTR's wheels rotated frame by frame, and the boy rushing towards the driver's seat moved as if in slow motion.

Lu Mingfei pulled the trigger.

"boom!"

The roar of the shotgun was deeper and more violent than that of the MP7. Dozens of buckshot pellets were ejected in a fan shape, and within the realm of time zero, Lu Mingfei could see the trajectory of each pellet. They spun as they flew toward the target, most of them hitting the sides of the GTR's tires.

Time resumes flow rate.

"puff!"

The GTR's front left tire went flat instantly, the rubber ripped apart in a flash, and lead pellets created a huge puncture on the inside of the tire. The vehicle, which had just started moving, lost its balance and tilted to one side, its front end crashing into the guardrail.
