"Aspasia? Isn't that an Italian restaurant that requires reservations three months in advance?"
"Quickly find out who has connections! This promise is a promise!"
Within just five minutes, the post received over a hundred replies.
As a forum administrator, Fingel added the "urgent" tag at the right time to make the post more eye-catching.
“Actually, you don’t have to go to Aspasia for your birthday,” Lu Mingfei said, scratching his head. “Any store will do.”
Chu Zihang shook his head, tapping his fingers lightly twice on the steering wheel: "What's promised can't be changed."
"What is Italian food? Is it good?" Frilian asked.
"The appetizer is Parma ham with melon," Chu Zihang said, looking straight ahead as if reading from a battle manual. "The main course is veal with white truffles, and the dessert is handmade tiramisu. Each course will be paired with a different wine."
"Stop, stop, stop!" Lu Mingfei wailed, "Senior brother, you're making me and Frilian drool!"
Chapter 44 Bounty (Part 2)
An Italian town, a beach. Cesare Gattuso floats on his back in the azure water, the sun shining on his perfectly sculpted abs.
This is a private beach belonging to the Gattuso family, far from tourists and the hustle and bustle, with only a few white yachts dotting the horizon.
Caesar took a deep breath and submerged underwater, his golden hair spreading out in the water.
Underwater, his senses become exceptionally sharp, an advantage granted by the Word of Power: Kamaitachi. He can hear the distant whistles of dolphins and distinguish the subtle differences in the movements of different schools of fish.
With a 'whoosh,' a dark shadow swept across the water's surface.
Caesar looked up and saw a hawk, executing a perfect hunt: swooping down, folding its wings, and diving into the water—the whole process took no more than two seconds.
It burst out of the water again, its sharp claws seizing a shimmering silver sardine.
Caesar smiled and silently swam toward the falcon.
The hawk, preparing to devour its prey, was completely unaware of the approaching danger.
It lowered its head to peck at the fish's eye, and a strong, powerful hand burst out of the water and grabbed the falcon's right leg.
The falcon let out a sharp cry and frantically flapped its wings, unable to break free.
“Got you.” Caesar surfaced, shaking his wet blond hair as water droplets dripped down his chin.
The falcon struggled in terror, its wings flapping and splashing water, its sharp beak trying to peck at the creature that dared to offend it.
But Caesar's hand was like steel; he stared directly into the falcon's eyes, a faint golden glint in the depths of its pupils.
The falcon's struggles gradually subsided, and the wildness in its eyes was replaced by calm.
Caesar could feel the little life's heartbeat change from frantic to regular, eventually synchronizing with his own.
This is an ancient taming technique, a secret passed down through generations of the Gattuso family. It is said that their ancestors used this method to tame various wild animals.
“My name is Caesar, Caesar Gattuso,” he said softly. “And you, you shall be Antony. Yes, Antony, the name of a great Roman general.”
He let go, but the falcon didn't fly away. Instead, it perched on his arm, tilting its head to examine the blond young man.
Caesar smiled and raised his arm: "Go, Antony."
The Eurasian Hobby spread its wings, drawing a graceful arc across the sea before soaring into the sky.
Caesar looked up at it, the sunlight making him squint. Antony circled once a hundred meters in the air, letting out a loud cry, announcing his rebirth.
Caesar watched Antony depart, then turned and walked toward the jet ski moored in the shallows.
He straddled the jet ski, started the engine, and it roared to life. The jet ski surged out of the water, kicking up two white sprays.
Antony swooped down from the sky, keeping parallel to Caesar, like a loyal guard.
"Accelerate!" Caesar laughed as he twisted the throttle, instantly increasing the speed of the jet ski to 100 kilometers per hour.
The salty sea breeze swept over him, ruffling his blond hair.
Not to be outdone, Anthony spread his wings and used the updraft to keep up closely.
The imagery evokes the image of a general and his messenger hawk, and Caesar couldn't help but imagine himself leading the ancient Roman fleet on a cruise through the Mediterranean.
They made three trips back and forth on the sea until the setting sun turned the sea red.
Caesar turned off the engine and let the jet ski drift with the current.
Anthony landed on the motorcycle's handlebars, tilting his head to examine his owner, his eyes devoid of any wildness.
“It seems we’ve reached an agreement, Antony,” Caesar said, gently stroking the falcon’s back feathers, which the falcon obediently accepted.
Back on shore, Caesar stretched out on a deckchair. Antony, perched on the frame of a parasol a short distance away, warily surveyed the surroundings.
“Young Master,” Percy Gattuso appeared silently beside the recliner, holding a telephone in his hand. “It’s your classmate on the phone. The caller is a student council member.”
Caesar lazily answered the phone: "What's wrong?"
"Boss!" Fingel's booming voice burst from the receiver, "Lu Mingfei and Frilian are having dinner with someone at Aspasia tonight, but they can't get a reservation! What do you think about this?"
Caesar frowned and held the phone further away: "Who is this?"
Although the voice was strangely familiar, he couldn't immediately recall anyone in the student council who had heard of it.
"I'm your most reliable sidekick, Fingel!" the other person exclaimed, their voice tinged with exaggerated grievance. "Last semester, I even helped you collect Nono's class schedule!"
The floodgates of memory opened, and Caesar saw in his mind the image of a burly German man with a perpetually grinning face: "Ah, I remember now. You just said that Lu Mingfei and Frilian were having a candlelight dinner?"
"Oh dear, no, no," Fingel hurriedly explained, "It's Lu Mingfei's birthday today. He was originally going to have dinner with Frilian. Chen Wenwen got dumped by Zhao Menghua, so Frilian asked Chen Wenwen to come along. Frilian is a bit strange, you know."
A question mark almost materialized above Caesar's head: "Why are the three of us eating together?"
He simply couldn't connect Lu Mingfei, Frilian, and Chen Wenwen together.
Fingel lowered his voice: "Did you see the bounty pinned at the top of the forum? It was posted by President Chu Zihang. Whoever can help Lu Mingfei book a seat at Aspasia, he will grant them a promise. Tsk tsk, that's quite a price to pay."
Caesar raised an eyebrow slightly. He was all too familiar with the bounty offered by Kassel College; back when he was pursuing Nono, he had posted a similar task on the forum, and everyone who provided effective assistance received a brand-new PSP.
But Chu Zihang's stakes this time far exceeded the value of a game console; it was a promise from the Lionheart Society's president, and its value was immeasurable.
"Trying to bribe an S-class? Ha, too bad I've already seen through your trick!" Caesar muttered to himself, a cold smile playing on his lips.
“Tell Lu Mingfei that he and Frilian will enjoy Aspasia’s best service, best food, and best location tonight.”
"But boss, there are no seats left. Someone has booked the whole place for a wedding tonight."
Caesar frowned: "I've never queued before. Does his shop require a queue?"
"There's a queue. Tonight's event is booked by a well-known local tycoon; his son is having his wedding."
"Then let them hold the wedding in another location."
Caesar beckoned Percy over, and said into the phone, "Tell Chu Zihang that I've accepted the bounty, and I'll take care of the seating arrangements."
After hanging up the phone, Caesar turned to Percy: "Make arrangements to have Aspasia available tonight. By the way..."
He paused for a moment, then said, "To put it tactfully, I hope Lu Mingfei and Chen Wenwen break off their contact as soon as possible. Compared to Chen Wenwen, I still prefer Frilline."
Percy frowned slightly: "Then we'll have to use Mint, and the cost will probably be considerable."
Caesar shook his head, his gaze turning to Anthony circling on the distant sea: "Percy, whether it's S-class Lu Mingfei or A-class Frilian, their futures are limitless. This is a very small amount of money to win people's hearts."
“Yes, I’ll take care of it right away,” Percy said, bowing as he withdrew.
Chapter 45 The Damaged Train Station
Lu Mingfei leaned back lazily in his chair. "What should we do now?"
Chu Zihang: "You're the leader of this mission, so whatever you say goes."
"Senior brother, please don't joke around. Frilian and I have absolutely no idea about the details of this mission. You should decide what to do."
Frillie, sitting in the back row, looked down at a storybook, then looked up and said, "We know nothing about the details of the mission."
Chu Zihang was silent for a moment. "Then let's go to the train station after the earthquake. We don't know who took the documents yet, let's see what the scene is like first."
"Earthquake? Documents?" Lu Mingfei was completely confused. "Senior brother, can you explain it from the beginning? I don't even know what we're looking for."
The car entered a tunnel, and the dim lights flickered alternately on the faces of the three people.
“A day earlier, Executive Director Raymond brought back a document from Hefei, the contents of which are unknown. He encountered a magnitude 5 earthquake while changing trains.”
"Huh?" Lu Mingfei interjected, "What does an earthquake have to do with lost documents?"
"The earthquake destroyed the train station, but the surrounding buildings were unharmed. Raymond died in the earthquake, and the documents are missing."
Frillie closed the book: "It sounds like a meticulously planned murder."
"Yes," Chu Zihang nodded. "After investigation, the academy found that the train station's surveillance system completely failed when the earthquake occurred."
Lu Mingfei shuddered: "So someone used the power of words to create an earthquake, kill Raymond, and steal the documents?"
"Ah."
"What is Raymond's Word of Power?" Frilian asked.
“‘Blazing Sun,’ serial number 28,” Chu Zihang replied, “capable of emitting a high-intensity flash that blinds enemies.”
Lu Mingfei couldn't help but complain, "We don't need to buy a flashlight at night anymore."
Frillie's idea wasn't so far-fetched: "It's a great support ability, which should be very useful in teamwork."
As the car emerged from the tunnel, the ruins of the train station, a product of the earthquake, could be faintly seen in the distance.
Yellow tape had been put up around the train station, and a few security guards stood lazily at the entrance. Chu Zihang parked the car on the side of the road, and the three of them got out and walked towards the station.
"Stop! No entry here!" The wrinkled old security guard stopped them, his uniform covered in dust.
Lu Mingfei wanted to explain, but Chu Zihang simply pulled out a pack of Zhonghua cigarettes from his pocket, expertly flicked one out, and handed it to the old security guard. "Sir, we'll just go in and take a look; we'll be out soon."
The old security guard's eyes lit up. After looking around, he quickly took the cigarette and tucked it behind his ear.
"Ten minutes, don't let anyone see," he said in a low voice, lifting a corner of the cordon tape.
Lu Mingfei stared at Chu Zihang in disbelief. The Lionheart Club president, who was excellent in both character and academics, always carried cigarettes with him and knew the ways of the underworld.
Upon entering the station, Frillie walked straight towards the ruins, her boots making a crisp sound as they stepped on the rubble. "Is this it?"
Chu Zihang nodded: "Raymond's body was found next to the pillar over there."
Lu Mingfei looked around. The hall had collapsed most of the way down, and sunlight slanted in through the cracks, making the broken steel bars look like the ribs of a monster.
