The shadowy figure reached out and gently touched the points of light. Wherever its fingertips passed, the points of light scattered like startled fireflies, only to gather again a short distance away.

"Humans have managed to develop alchemy to this extent; it's remarkable," the shadowy figure said, with a mixture of admiration and sarcasm.

She crouched down, and the light from the burning stick illuminated the ground.

Dragon patterns were carved on the ground.

"The forbidden land of Kassel, all who enter it must abandon all hope."

The alchemical matrix suppresses countless dangerous artifacts collected by Kassel College from all over the world.

The shadowy figure glanced at the items suppressed by the power of the Word of Power.

The mummy was wrapped in linen, and black mist occasionally seeped out from the gaps in the cloth.

The hourglass, constantly flowing backwards and then forwards, is filled with blood-red sand.

The exquisitely carved music box tinkled softly.

There's also the gold mask that Principal Angers recently bought at an auction, with an expression on the mask that's neither a smile nor a frown.

“Useless thing,” the shadowy figure scoffed. “This golden mask must have been recently bought by Angers. It’s a bit tacky.”

She stood up and, without hesitation, slashed her wrist with a dagger.

'Tick-tock'

Blood beads landed on several key nodes of the alchemical matrix, and the shadowy figure chanted ancient dragon script.

It's not a simplified version used by modern hybrids, but the pure dragon language, with each syllable carrying primal power.

"click"

The alchemical matrix let out a mournful cry of unbearable strain. The patterns began to turn black from the blood-stained areas, the blackness spreading rapidly until the entire matrix disintegrated within seconds.

The floating points of light flickered violently and then went out one after another, completely shattering the balance that had been maintained for decades.

This space has spiraled out of control.

In an instant, the collections came to life.

The mummy's shroud unwrapped itself, revealing the blackened skeleton inside, with green flames burning in the empty eye sockets.

The hourglass shattered, and the blood-red sand coalesced in the air into a distorted human face.

The music box started automatically, emitting out-of-tune and jarring sounds.

Noise instantly filled the entire Well of Oblivion, as various supernatural forces combined together.

"Too noisy," the shadowy figure frowned, "Shut up!"

All the artifacts immediately fell silent. The 'living spirits' on them sensed the oppressive aura emanating from the shadowy figure, an existence even more terrifying than the alchemical matrix.

The mummy wrapped itself up again, the blood and sand fell back to the ground, and only the music box remained open, awaiting further instructions.

The shadowy figure pointed at the music box, "Continue playing, choose a grand piece of music, to celebrate our long-awaited reunion."

The music box first tuned a few notes, and then began to play a magnificent symphony.

"Hmph." The dark figure ignored the collection and turned to walk towards the central pool.

The water was as black as ink, and ripples spread across it as the music from the music box played.

The dark figure stepped into the water, and as it moved forward, the pool automatically parted to create a path.

In the center of the pool is a circular altar, and the inscription on the altar is filled with the great epic of the dragon race.

The shadowy figure stepped onto the altar, and the light from the burning rod illuminated the two remains in the center of the altar.

"Long time no see, Constantine and Norton."

Two bronze-colored skeletons lay silently on the altar.

Although they are called skeletons, they are far more complex than human skeletons. Each skeleton is composed of thousands of bones, some as thin as a hair and some as thick as a beam.

The massive wing bones extended from its back, maintaining a majestic posture even in death.

The skull is particularly distinctive, with the frontal bone protruding to form a crown and the mandible having serrated edges.

Dragonbone Cross, the remains of the King of Bronze and Fire.

The shadowy figure knelt before the remains and reached out to stroke Norton's skull.

A thousand years ago, they traveled together.

Now, all that remains on my fingertips is a cold touch; the once-burning dragon blood has long since dried up.

"Is he really dead?" The shadowy figure trembled, then suddenly sprang up, slashing open the artery in his wrist with a dagger, blood gushing out and splattering onto the remains.

"Stand up, Norton, Constantine!"

The blood was poured onto the dragon bones, but there was no reaction.

The shadowy figure initially thought that Constantine and Norton had only entered a state of suspended animation and could be revived with his own blood.

However, the blood simply flowed down the bones and seeped into the cracks of the altar, as if the two remains were just ordinary sculptures.

The shadowy figure continued to bleed relentlessly until its face turned pale from blood loss.

She stared at the unresponsive remains and accepted reality.

"He's really dead." The dark figure slumped down, tears streaming silently down his face. "We made a vow to reunite a thousand years later, but that vow can never be fulfilled."

The music box was still playing that magnificent piece, but it was particularly jarring.

"Please play a mournful song."

The music immediately shifted, with a melodious minor key replacing the previous grand movement. The melody, plaintive and sorrowful, told a story of betrayal, loneliness, and separation.

The shadowy figure listened silently, tears falling onto the altar, mingling with the still-damp blood.

"Perhaps it is because they do not know dreams that wanderers chase after illusions," someone chanted an ancient song in Japanese.

The shadowy figure looked up toward the source of the sound.

From the corner, Mai Shude slowly walked out, wearing a close-fitting black combat uniform, her long hair tied into a neat ponytail.

"Wine Virtue and Robe?"

Mai snapped her fingers, and several drones hidden above the well wall projected spotlights, illuminating the altar area as if it were daytime.

“Wow, I’m that famous?” she chuckled, her right hand resting on the dagger at her waist.

The figure in the shadows stood up, the vulnerability he had previously displayed vanishing completely. "I've come to visit and pay respects to two friends. What brings you here?"

Chapter 101 Thief, Mahjong

Mai shrugged and casually replied, "Just here to be a thief and steal some good stuff."

She spun around, her black combat suit gleaming in the beam of light projected by the drone. "The Annihilation Well at Kassel College hides the Dragonbone Cross. Who wouldn't want to come to such a wonderful place?"

"The security was originally very tight, but for some reason, the defenses suddenly failed today, so we thieves were able to take advantage of the situation."

The shadowy figure clicked his tongue, a mocking smile curving his lips beneath the black cloak. "All this talk, isn't it just that you're here to steal?"

“Likewise,” Mai Shude smiled, her eyes crinkling, and gently tapped her chin with her index finger. “You’re a thief too. I was the first one here, and you’re the second.”

She pointed to her side, "And he was the third."

Sure enough, the sound of a third person breathing came from the darkness, so light that it was almost imperceptible, yet it was exceptionally clear in this enclosed space.

The shadowy figure didn't turn around, but just sneered: "Not bad, one more person and we'll have enough people to play mahjong."

"Here! We've got plenty of people for mahjong!" A cheerful voice came from the other side of the altar.

Fingel raised his hand high, with a KFC paper bag comically covering his head and two irregular holes cut out for his eyes.

Although the paper bag covered his face, it couldn't hide his muscular physique. His muscles stretched the originally loose T-shirt taut, and the veins on his exposed arms were clearly visible.

Mai clapped her hands twice, and the drone immediately adjusted its angle, projecting a spotlight onto everyone.

"The world of thieves is truly full of heroes; heroes from all walks of life have come here," she exclaimed.

Under the blinding light, everyone's true colors were revealed.

Mai Shude was dressed in a black bodysuit that accentuated her perfect figure, with two short swords at her waist, their sheaths wrapped in runes.

The shadowy figure was completely shrouded in a large black robe, its face obscured by shadow, with only a pair of golden vertical pupils gleaming in the darkness.

The third person was dressed in a well-tailored dark blue suit, with a tie tied meticulously, the Gattuso family crest pinned to his collar, and heterochromatic eyes, one gold and one blue.

He stood there quietly, giving off an extremely dangerous feeling, like a sword half-drawn from its sheath.

Only Fingel, with a ridiculous KFC paper bag over his head, had his muscles straining so much that his cheap T-shirt looked like it was about to burst.

Under the four beams of light, everyone's true colors were revealed.

A murderous aura hung in the air, and everyone secretly adjusted their posture, preparing to unleash their full power.

Fingel is a bit out of place; he's wearing a ridiculous paper bag, and although he's all muscle and looks powerful, the overall style is just not harmonious.

Mai Shude couldn't help but laugh out loud. "I say, isn't it incredibly unprofessional of you to dress like that?"

Fingel adjusted the paper bag on his head, which made a rustling sound.

He pointed to the third person, "Just like him, wearing a suit and tie?"

“Let me introduce you,” Fingel said, spreading his hands, the KFC Colonel logo on the paper bag crooked comically to one side. “This is Mr. Passy Gattuso, the secretary of the head of the investigation team, from the Gattuso family.”

Percy nodded slightly. "Just call me Percy."

Mai looked down at her black combat uniform, then glanced at Percy's custom-made suit, and sighed dramatically, "I can't believe a thief is dressed so formally. I should have worn an evening gown too."

“No,” Percy calmly corrected, his gaze sweeping over everyone present, “only the three of you are thieves. Everything in this academy, including the Dragonbone Cross, is the property of the Board of Trustees. I was merely ordered to inspect the Board of Trustees’ assets.”

"You really dare to say that. Didn't you also sneak in illegally? The road must have been difficult to travel on, right?" Fingel looked at Percy's dirty leather shoes.

"Yes, the road was difficult to walk on, and it took quite a bit of effort," Percy said, having just come in from the botanical garden.

Mai clapped her hands, and the drone changed the color of its lights in response to her movements, turning the entire Annihilation Well into a disco.

"All four of you are here. Aren't you going to play mahjong?"

"Hey, you know what, let's start playing!" Fingel rubbed his hands excitedly, the wrinkles on the paper bag deforming with his movements. "I know the rules of mahjong very well: winning on a kong, drawing the last tile from the bottom of the sea, and thirteen orphans."

As he spoke, he slowly backed away, his entire body tense.
