McGonagall couldn't help but laugh out loud.
But soon, she shared Dumbledore's worries. She just couldn't let Bobby see them.
“That’s amazing. As far as I know, there’s no one who is both an Animagus and a Disguised Magus.”
McGonagall hugged Bobby and gently patted her back. "Alright, child, I have to go to class now. Don't stray too far from the castle. What if we can't rescue you in time, like yesterday?"
Bobby was actually a little scared about what happened yesterday. Although she thought she had just fainted, she was not without enemies in the Forbidden Forest. At least the magical creatures on her menu all wanted to kill her.
To eat spiders all day long, only to have them snatched away by a spider—what a shameful thing that would be!
"Mommy McGonagall, don't worry, I won't be going out for at least the next two weeks."
"Oh, why are you suddenly being so well-behaved?"
"Because I'm taking Potions class in place of Snape!"
McGonagall: !!
"Is this what Albus asked you to talk about?"
"Yes, the teacher promised me that as long as I teach for half a month, you can't assign me any homework for the entire school year!"
Before leaving, she turned back and said with a smile, "The principal has spoken, so Mama McGonagall has to listen to him."
Bobby giggled and ran out. Now she needed to think carefully about how to conduct the next Potions class.
Quirrell hasn't left yet today, so she doesn't need to substitute teach. She can use today to get ready and transform herself into a convincing "Severus Snape".
The little girl shot up like a rocket and landed on the eighth floor again.
The figures in the portraits beside the stairs were all astonished: What's wrong with the young lady today? Why is she going up and down so frequently?
Arriving at the tapestry depicting the troll beating Barnabas, Poppy deactivated her Occlumency and silently thought, "I need a dressing room, I need a dressing room..."
After walking back and forth three times, a door appeared in the wall.
Bobby pushed the door open without hesitation, acting as if she knew the place like the back of her hand, showing that this wasn't the first time she had used the House of Requirement.
Pushing open the door, you'll find yourself in a dressing room.
To the left is a row of dressing tables, each filled with various cosmetics, gold and silver jewelry, and necklaces.
To the right were several long rows of clothes racks, with formal wear and dresses, but most of them were wizard robes.
Poppy randomly found a dressing table to sit down, and as she thought of it, she quickly changed her face to Snape's.
Looking at the "dwarf" Snape in the mirror, Bobby couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Father Snape, please forgive me, please forgive me! I would never do what Neville did and deliberately make you wear an old lady's clothes...
In terms of appearance, Bobby felt that her transformation was flawless, but the Disguise Magus couldn't change her body shape, which was annoying.
Therefore, to solve the body shape problem, an additional human transformation technique is needed.
Poppy took out her wand and tapped it lightly on herself. Her body began to grow taller and her limbs began to lengthen, but the transformation was obviously a failure; she did not transform into Snape's form.
This result is to be expected; human body deformation is not so easy.
If it were that easy, who would bother to go to the trouble of preparing compound decoctions?
If it's that easy, why is the ability to disguise oneself as a Magus so enviable?
But Poppy is already very satisfied with this form.
She's not going to become Snape and attend a swimsuit show.
She also has to wear a robe over it. As long as the height and arm span are the same, who would know that there is a stick figure inside when she wears that robe that looks like a big bat?
Poppy found a dark green robe, put it on, and once again transformed her face into Snape.
Bobby, who had spent five years with Snape, knew all of his micro-expressions intimately.
The Snape in the mirror looked exactly like the real Snape, from his appearance and demeanor to his expressions and movements.
The "Snape" in the mirror opened his mouth and said, "Mr. Potter, you'd better fill your empty head with valuable knowledge, or you'll just be a useless man following Hermione around."
The voice, tone, intonation, and wording were a perfect replica of Snape. Even Snape himself would doubt whether he had ever said those words and whether they had been recorded.
After testing the new look from multiple angles and perspectives, Bobby was satisfied and returned to his original form. He grabbed the robe and ran out, heading straight for Snape's office.
"Papa Snape!"
Poppy burst through the door with a gleeful expression. Snape was startled, and two extra drops of potion were added to the cauldron, meaning the potion was about to be ruined.
But he wasn't angry at all. With a casual wave of his hand, he emptied the liquid from the crucible, a smile spreading across his face as he asked, "Poppy, what's wrong? Isn't it our turn to spend the night in Ravenclaw tonight?"
“Hehehe,” Bobby grinned foolishly, put the large robe on, and used Transfiguration on himself. As he grew taller, he began the Transfiguration of Magus. “I am Severus Snape, Head of Slytherin House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.”
"Starting tomorrow, I will be teaching Potions to the wizards in grades one through seven!"
Snape was genuinely astonished this time, not because of Poppy's incredibly lifelike transformation, nor because Poppy's imitation of his speech was so perfect.
This is clearly not the effect of a compound decoction. And what would make the little girl come all the way here to show off is definitely not the magic potion she could brew at the age of seven.
Then there's only one possibility: he disguised himself as Magus. If Dumbledore and McGonagall could think of this, Snape couldn't possibly not; it's a case of bloodline atavism.
Thinking of this, Snape's smile began to freeze, as Bobby's physical condition remained a persistent shadow hanging over him.
With a burst of magical energy, Poppy awakened another ability. Snape pondered whether this unknown bloodline was a blessing or a curse.
Chapter 19 Good heavens, Professor Snape laughed!
Hermione, carrying a stack of books, walked side-by-side with Harry and Ron toward the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
The little raccoon carefully analyzed the troll incident for the two boys. Harry was already immersed in the empty title of "Troll Slayer" and had lost his ability to think, while Ron, he never had that thing in the first place.
"Don't you guys think it's strange that a giant monster appeared in the school?"
Ron sniffed; the weather was getting colder, and he was catching a cold.
"There's nothing strange about this. This is Hogwarts! The most magical place in all of Britain!"
Hermione rolled her eyes at him: "I mean, how did this troll get into the school? Isn't Hogwarts supposed to be the safest place? Why would such a huge troll suddenly barge into the depths of the castle?"
Hermione's words made Harry realize something was amiss. "Indeed, it was Halloween, a day with lots of people coming and going. Even if it breached the castle's defenses, how come no one saw it?"
Hermione nodded. "So, I suspect someone let the troll in."
Ron asked, "So who was so bored as to let a giant in?"
“Not boring at all, Ron! Whoever let the troll in must have a purpose!”
Harry quickly said, "Hermione, hurry up and tell me, what did you think of?"
“Once the troll was let in, all the professors, including Headmaster Dumbledore, were drawn to it, giving the culprit time to do what he wanted.”
Young Ron was the kind of person who was clueless and loved to argue: "What can you possibly do? Aren't you overthinking it?"
Hermione ignored him and instead said to Harry, "Do you remember the night we met Cerberus?"
Harry nodded, and Hermione continued, "Behind the three-headed dog, there's a trapdoor. I guess it's protecting something. Otherwise, there's no reason for the school to put a three-headed dog at the end of the corridor."
Harry slapped his forehead: "I remember now! Before school started, when Hagrid took me to get money, he also took something from vault 713. It was very mysterious! Then I saw in the newspaper that the vault had been robbed, but nothing was stolen."
Hermione's eyes lit up: "You mean the people who stole the vault wanted the same thing Hagrid took?"
"That's right!"
Hermione slowed her pace and caught up with the two. "That explains it. The three-headed dog was protecting what Hagrid took from Vault 713!"
Ron was still confused: "What does that have to do with trolls?"
Harry couldn't stand it anymore, so he explained, "The troll attracted everyone's attention, making it easier for the thief to sneak into the end of the third-floor corridor and steal things!"
"Oh!" Ron exclaimed, feigning sudden realization. "Then who is it?"
“Professor! It must be one of the professors,” Hermione said with absolute certainty. “The students are not capable of controlling a troll, much less of sending it into the school silently.”
Harry nodded in agreement. "Then Hermione, which professor do you think is the most suspicious?"
“Professor Quirrell!” Hermione gave her answer. “At first, everyone thought Professor Quirrell was a professor who wasn’t very capable, but it turned out that he could actually teach very well.”
So why did he hide himself in the first place? I think he wanted to minimize his presence so it would be easier for him to steal the treasure!
Harry shook his head, offering a completely different answer: "That doesn't make sense, Hermione. If he wanted to hide himself, why did his classes get better and better later on?"
I think at first it was because he was frightened in Albania and had just switched from being a Muggle Studies professor to a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, so he was a bit nervous. Later, once he relaxed, his lectures naturally got better and better.
Hermione found Harry's words somewhat reasonable, but she still insisted, "But Professor Quirrell was the first to discover the troll, and why would he be in the underground classroom during the Halloween dinner?"
Harry couldn't answer Hermione's question, but he offered his own guess: "I think it's Snape. Ron, do you remember during the Sorting Ceremony, when the scar on my forehead suddenly started hurting?"
Ron replied, "Of course I remember. It was Snape looking at you back then!"
“That’s right, this scar was left to me by Voldemort. I’ve never felt such pain in my entire life, but it starts to hurt whenever I see Snape. I think he must be related to Voldemort!”
Ron chimed in, “That’s right, Harry, he’s targeting you at every turn, as if you have a deep-seated grudge against him! You’re absolutely right, he must be avenging you on behalf of his master.”
Ron finally concluded, "So Snape is a Death Eater! Stealing the treasure must mean he's up to something bad!"
Harry nodded: "That's right, that's what I mean. I think Snape is the most suspicious."
Hermione gripped the book tightly with her right hand and rubbed her forehead with her left: "Harry, Ravenclaw's classmates said that Professor Snape was with your cousin Bobby that night, the whole night. He didn't have time to commit the crime!"
Hermione's words emboldened Harry even more: "No, Hermione, that's the key point! Snape is using Bobby as a cover to clear himself of suspicion! Don't forget, this is the wizarding world, with all sorts of magic! Are you sure that the person accompanying Cousin Bobby is Snape himself?"
If you decide someone is a good person, you'll frantically search for evidence to support them; if you decide someone is a bad person, then even their most normal actions will seem sinister and malicious to you.
"By the way, I haven't seen my cousin Bobby much these past few days. Where did she go?"
As they spoke, the three entered the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
As soon as they entered the classroom, the three of them quickly shut up.
Because the one standing on the podium was none other than Severus Snape.
The Death Eaters they just mentioned, the thieves who wanted to steal the treasure, the villains who were targeting Harry Potter at every turn!
After sitting down, Harry asked in a low voice, "Why is Snape here to teach?"
Hermione whispered back, "I heard Professor Quirrell took leave..."
Snape suddenly spoke up: "Harry Potter ignored classroom discipline and whispered among himself. Gryffindor loses 2 points."
