It's holiday time, Mom and Dad should come to see her.
These past five years have been incredibly difficult for Selby and Christine. They couldn't have their beloved daughter with them, and could only visit her at school during holidays.
Soon, Selby and Christine, who had been picked up by Professor McGonagall using Floo Powder, appeared on the wide cobblestone path.
Bobby's face was beaming with smiles as he opened his arms and pounced on her.
Whether it's blood ties or feelings, it's all real. These two are her parents in this world, an inseparable bond she can't sever!
The family of three hugged each other for a long time before separating.
Dumbledore had also arrived at the school gate at some point.
He said with a smile, "Selvi, Christine, welcome!"
Selby smiled and stepped forward to shake hands with Dumbledore. "I'm so sorry to bother you every holiday."
Dumbledore winked playfully. "Perhaps we won't have to go through all that trouble in the future?"
He then looked at Christine and asked, "Christine, did you bring your things?"
Christine nodded and took a pendant out of her bag.
It was a completely silver-white pendant, exquisitely crafted with a circular openwork design and a relief carving of a tree branch with two leaves inlaid with the purest emeralds.
Taking the pendant, Dumbledore glanced at it only once before saying to McGonagall, "Minerva, this is magical metal, made using the same technique as Galleons..."
Chapter 27 The Golden Apple and the Gift
At dinner, Bobby introduced her best friend Jady to her parents.
"Mom and Dad, this is my new best friend, Jady Indigo. She's so good to me. She didn't even go home this Christmas holiday to be with me!"
Since meeting Bobby, Christine had been holding her in her arms, so she naturally couldn't be impolite in front of strangers.
She patted Bobby's little head, let go of Bobby, sat up straight, and said to Jady, "Thank you so much for taking care of our Bobby. She's very naughty and must have caused you a lot of trouble, right?"
Bobby angrily lifted his mother's hand, put it back on his shoulder, leaned back against her, and snuggled back into his mother's arms.
Jady glanced at Bobby, who was being held in her mother's arms. It was rare to see Bobby so cuddly and affectionate.
She smiled and replied very politely, "Mrs. Evans, you're too kind. Bobby is a very nice person. On the contrary, I'm often the one who gets taken care of by her."
Jadi was already extremely beautiful and spoke politely, which immediately won over Selvi and Christine.
The meal was filled with laughter and conversation, and the atmosphere was very harmonious.
After the meal, Dumbledore led the Evans family to the headmaster's office.
A round table has been added to the center of the office.
Snape, Flitwick, McGonagall, and Sprows were already waiting there.
Selby and Snape hugged each other and, guided by Dumbledore, sat down at one side of the round table, facing the heads of the house.
“Mr. Evans, Mrs. Evans,” Dumbledore said, passing the pendant Christine had given him that afternoon among the heads of the house, “do you know the specific origin of this pendant?”
Christine nodded and smiled at all the professors present. These were her daughter's benefactors; each and every one of them had contributed greatly to her daughter's healthy survival.
“Mr. Dumbledore, this pendant was passed down to me by my father. It must have been several hundred years ago. He said that our family bloodline was very thin, with only one child per generation, and it was always a boy. But with me, the Pain family has completely become history.”
Dumbledore looked around at the heads of the house and said, "Selvey's family history is very easy to trace. Apart from his cousin Lily Potter (Snape rolled his eyes at this moment), the entire family were Muggles before this."
The Sorting Hat told me long ago that Bobby's bloodline is extremely ancient and powerful, existing even before the Sorting Hat was created. Since the Evans family couldn't possibly possess this bloodline, it must originate from Christine's side.
"So I asked Christine if she had any family heirlooms..." Dumbledore waved the pendant on his hand, "and as you can see, it's this."
Flitwick tugged at his beard and muttered, "A family crest of a tree branch? I don't recall any family like that."
Dumbledore laughed and said, "I'm afraid it's not a branch."
He infused the pendant with magic, and the originally silver-white pendant began to emit golden light, gradually turning completely golden, looking exactly the same color as Galleon. Most importantly, the tree branch gradually disappeared, revealing a new pattern.
"Golden Apple!" ×N
Everyone was astonished. No one had expected that Bobby's ancestors were connected to the legendary golden apple.
The mention of the golden apple naturally evokes images of Greek mythology. If Poppy's lineage originates from the era of Greek mythology, then it truly deserves the title of "ancient and ancient."
A group of old scholars then began a heated discussion. The Bobby family, who were clearly involved in the matter, were excluded because they had never even heard of what was being discussed.
Finally, Dumbledore concluded: "First of all, the Apple of Gold is undoubtedly a treasure in mythology, and it has an irresistible allure to all people; everyone wants to possess it."
Poppy has that trait. She's actually a very mischievous child, but look at everyone here, who doesn't like her? And her charm allows her to befriend all the animals,” Dumbledore glanced at the shy Poppy and added, “except for those on her menu.”
"Secondly, according to legend, Zeus appointed the dragons Radon and Hesperides to guard the Golden Apple Garden. The dragon Radon is the etymological source of the word 'dragon' that we use today, representing power."
One of the most famous legends in the myth of the golden apples, one of the twelve labors of Hercules, involves the theft of the golden apples. Hercules himself was a powerful god.
I personally believe that Poppy's incredible physique and superhuman strength stem from this.
Dumbledore spoke eloquently, while Bobby below was dozing off.
You can deduce so much from a golden apple pendant? And then, by following these clues, you can find the origin of my bloodline in mythology? And then restore my body to normal?
Isn't this ridiculous?
But the next moment, Dumbledore's words made Bobby's almond-shaped eyes widen into Zhang Fei's eyes.
“When I was young, I traveled in the Balkans, and those were truly passionate years…” Dumbledore seemed to fall into deep thought, then realized, “Sorry, old people tend to be more nostalgic.”
"At that time, my friends and I were exploring ancient sites there and discovered that Greek mythology was not just a legend. Mount Olympus was real, and those gods were once powerful wizards."
He looked at the pendant in his hand. "The golden apple is hailed as the treasure of Olympus and is planted in Paradise on the other side of the world. It must be true."
The old man smiled and looked at Bobby, "Maybe we should go on a trip during our vacation."
Dumbledore stopped channeling magic, and the pendant returned to its original silver color.
“But Bobby, not this holiday. I think you should go back to your parents this Christmas holiday, after all, you haven’t been home for more than five years.”
Selby and Christine were overjoyed. The principal meant that Bobby was well enough to go out.
Dumbledore knew the couple had misunderstood without using Legilimency, but he didn't explain further. He simply took out a box and handed it to Bobby.
“Bobby, this is a bracelet that your godfathers spent more than a month collecting a lot of precious materials to make especially for you,” the old man said with a smile as Bobby took the box. “Your godmother, me, and Pomona all contributed to this gift, so consider it a Christmas present from us.”
Bobby opened the box, and there lay a gold and silver bracelet.
It is dazzling and exudes a rich magical aura.
She picked up the bracelet. On the inside, there were many runes engraved. Bobby had studied runes, and although she didn't understand the intricacies of these runes, she understood their general meaning.
Balance, stability, convergence.
At Dumbledore's prompting, Bobby put the bracelet on her wrist. The bracelet, which was a size larger than her wrist, shrank automatically after she put it on, fitting her wrist perfectly.
It fits perfectly, as if it grew out of Bobby's hand.
The moment the bracelet touched her body, Bobby felt her body become much lighter, as the burden of magic on her body was eliminated.
"Alright, Poppy, we dare to let you go home only with this bracelet. It can not only restrain and balance your magic so that it doesn't easily go berserk, but it can also notify us immediately if you lose control."
Dumbledore picked up a small bell from his desk and shook it in front of everyone. The small bell hung on a stand.
Bobby looked on with curiosity. The bell was clearly shaking, but it didn't make a sound.
"Haha, of course it won't ring now. It will only sound an alarm when your magic goes out of control."
Bobby nodded, smiling, and said, "I really like this Christmas present. Thank you, Papa Snape, thank you, Papa Flitwick, thank you, Mama McGonagall, thank you, Aunt Sprawling, thank you, teacher." After thanking everyone, she asked Dumbledore, "..."
"Teacher, did Master Nicolas Flamel also make a move on this bracelet?"
This was a question, but Bobby's tone was very confident.
"Of course, of course, everyone has their own expertise. We can't make such exquisite alchemical items."
For a while, Snape and Flitwick were often nowhere to be seen at night. It turned out they were out gathering materials for this bracelet. It would be a lie to say I wasn't touched. Their days were packed with classes, so they could only do this in their spare time at night. It was such a display of fatherly love.
“Alright,” Bobby put his hand into the infinitely expandable pocket on his chest and began to rummage around. “I didn’t prepare a gift for Master Lemaître, so I’ll have to make it up to him later.”
A short while later, she pulled out a pile of woolen items.
Four pure white scarves, shimmering with a holy silver light, and a pair of socks of the same material.
"This is a Christmas gift I prepared for you. I hope you like it. Merry Christmas!"
Snape picked up his scarf, his eyes gradually reddening. That Christmas, Lily had also given him a scarf.
Dumbledore held the pair of socks he had been longing for in his hands; the unicorn hair and the silk of the eight-eyed spider were intertwined, warm and resilient.
Now he has a family again, and this time he will never lose them again!
Chapter 28, "Report on Bobby Evans' Violation of Restraint Laws"
Sonny Pwett stood under an apple tree with a frown.
This apple tree is Bobby's nemesis; it almost knocked out her front tooth when Bobby was two years old.
Sunny Prewitt was here because there had been numerous reports of magical use on the ranch in the past two days. According to the registered wizarding information, there was only one young wizard here named Bobby Evans.
Clearly, this little girl who is causing so much trouble for the pure-blood families has violated the "Law on Reasonable Restraint of Underage Wizards".
Sonny is also a pure-blood; he comes from the Pewter family, one of the Twenty-Eight Holy Families. His cousin married into the Weasley family, and now, under his cousin's husband's care, he has entered the Ministry of Magic and works in the Office for the Prevention of the Abuse of Magic.
This morning, the office sent a warning letter to Bobby Evans.
Strangely, the owl couldn't find the address and brought the warning letter back to the ministry intact.
So Director Umbridge sent him to see what was going on.
When they arrived, Sonny could hardly believe his eyes. The outskirts of this ordinary Muggle ranch were covered with a dense array of protective runes, including a large number of confusion runes. No wonder the owl couldn't find the place.
Sonny Prewitt cautiously entered the ranch—who knows if it was cursed? But after only a couple of steps, his vision blurred, and he found himself back under the apple tree.
"Uncle, is my Wizard's Happy Maze fun? This maze only works for wizards; Muggles can't find it!"
A voice sounded overhead. Sunny looked up and saw a little girl in a red cotton coat sitting on an apple tree branch.
She was swinging her little legs, cracking open a dried fruit he had never eaten before. The shells she spat out looked like sunflower seeds.
