Yu-Gi-Oh!: This card wants to go to you.

Paladin placed his trembling fingertips on top of the deck, a resolute glint in his eyes.

"I...no, our turn..."

"Draw a card!!!"

With a whoosh, a silvery-white light flashed across the void.

[Flame Paladin - Astolfo]

"Activate the Spell Card - [The Final Chapter of the Paladin's Legend]!"

He slammed down a card with such force that it startled King Ash.

Special Summon [Isolde] and equip him with [Steel Breaker Epic!]

"Come back!"

"This is the memory of us paladins, forging an epic of advance!"

“Isolde?” A hint of wariness flashed in the eyes of the Ash King. “Chain-activate the effect of [Vedos the Destroyer], destroy [Obsidian City of Ash], Special Summon it to your field, and then Set [Eternal Ash] on my field.”

"This can be activated when [Obsidian Castle, the City of Ashes] is destroyed, Special Summoning [King of Obsidian Castle]!"

King of Ash City

"This is our majesty!"

King Ash laughed and opened his arms, and four monsters unleashed a vast and oppressive aura.

But this time...

Paladin was no longer confused; he regarded it as nothing.

With a determined look in his eyes, he said, "Activate the effect of [Isolde] ②, send [Flame Sword - Durandal], [Flame Sword - Juvayus], [Sword in the Stone], and [Sword of Destiny] to the Graveyard, and Special Summon [Ogier]!"

"[Ogier] Effect!"

"You're dreaming!" King Ash scoffed.

"Open the card—[Endless Ashes]!"

"Merge [King], [Priestess], [Hero], [Vedos], and [Ember]!"

"Activate [Ashes Rekindled] again to return [Ashes to Ashes] to the deck and negate [Flame Knight - Augil]!"

"Witness this! This is the masterpiece of us [Ashes]!"

"Sever all things that represent revolution and dreams, and at the end of ridicule, drag the world into the abyss!"

Fusion Summon!

"Level 10, [Endless Eclipse Dragon Vidos]!"

"[Endless Ashes] effect: [Endless Devouring Dragon Vidos] attack power becomes 5000!"

"Using the effect of [Vedos the Extinction Tyrannosaurus], destroy all monsters on the field!"

Extinguishing Tyrannosaurus Rex

"Chain the effects of [Endless Erosion Dragon Vidos] and destroy all spells and traps on your field!"

"Despair! Suffer! Wail! Hahahaha!"

The expected wails and desperate sighs did not occur; only heavy breathing echoed.

"That's not necessarily true!" Paladin waved his hand. "The story of us paladins will not end here!"

"Summon [Flame Knight - Richardetto]!"

"Activate effect, Special Summon [Flame Knight - Augil]!"

"You want to Synchro? You're dreaming!" the King roared. "I activate the effect of [Endless Eclipse Dragon Vidos] to destroy your [Flame Paladin - Richardetto] on the field."

Another resistance level. But—

"The paladin won't stop here!"

Paladin roared in anger.

"Activate [Inheritance of the Holy Grail], search for [Flame Paladin - Rinaldo]!"

"When there is a FIRE Warrior on the field, [Rinaldo] can be converted into a Tuner Special Summon!"

"Activate [Rinaldo]'s effect to reclaim [Kia Fried] from the graveyard!"

"Except for [Moggis], recruit [Astolfo] by special recruitment, and change [Astolfo]'s star rating to 4 stars!"

"Double-level up [Rinaldo] (Level 1) along with [Astolfo] and [Ogier] (Level 4)!"

Synchro Summon!

"This is a raging fire burning in my heart!"

"Witness it!"

"Level 9, [Flame Holy Knight Emperor - Charlie]!"

Flame Saint Knight Emperor - Charlie

"Equip [Flame Holy Knight - Augier] to [Flame Holy Knight Emperor - Charlie]".

"Set up a link circuit for [Flame Knight Emperor - Charlie]!"

"The summoning condition is one 9-star [Flame Knight Emperor - Charlie] with an equipment card."

"Reveal yourself, circuit of burning fire!"

"In order to reveal the king's might, we will inscribe our legend on this sword."

"O reborn paladin, display your ever-changing brilliance!"

"The time for my ascension to the throne is now!"

"Link Summon! Link 1! [Charles the Great]!"

"when--"

A huge golden halo exploded in the ruins.

Charlemagne

"Epic... How is this possible? How could a human possibly...!" King Ashes slowly widened his eyes, unable to accept it.

"I am Paladin! I am Charlie!" Paladin raised the holy sword in his hand.

"Welcome! The purification of the holy flame!"

"Activate the effect of [God Gia Freed], banish [Sword of Broken Steel] for Special Summon! Equip [Phoenix Armored Sword] to [Charles the Great]."

"Advance to the combat rank!"

"No, no! You will still fail. We ([Endless Eclipse Dragon Vidos]) are still stronger than you!" King Ash laughed.

"That's not necessarily true!" Paladin said with a smile.

"[Gia Fried]'s attack, activate its effect! Do not target, equip [Endless Eclipse Dragon Vidos] on your field as an Equip Card that increases its ATK by 500!"

"Submit!"

The soul of [Endless Eclipse Dragon Vidos] was extracted, gradually dissipated, and turned into a wisp of smoke, becoming the power of the paladin.

"No...how could this be?" King Ash's eyes glazed over. "Vedos...how could this be..."

"Disappear, you defiled one!"

A golden light shone from Paladin's eyes.

"[Charles the Great] Attack directly!"

Red team's LP: 8000 → 4200

"Hahaha, you didn't do enough damage, we're still alive!"

"You have no chance anymore!"

"[Phoenix Armed Sword] effect: This card is sent to the Graveyard, and Warrior-Type monsters and FIRE monsters on the field can attack twice."

"[Divine Phoenix Sword Saint Kia Fried] Direct Attack!"

Red team's LP: 4200 → 1200

"[Charles the Great] Attack directly! Vanish!" Paladin swung his holy sword toward the king.

"Snapped--"

Red team's LP: 1200 → 0

The winner takes all.

[Blue Side]

"Uh-"

The Ash King clutched his chest and wailed, his eyes bloodshot. The temple collapsed simultaneously, the light barrier dissipated, and the monsters outside began to crumble.

"We, who have been reduced to ashes, will one day return from the abyss!"

The sacred stone rose, and the Paladin led the surviving paladins out of the ruins.

"I will never stop moving forward. I swear to you, Commander, the glory of our gods will eventually shine upon the entire Biantana."

Paladin turned to the Knights: "All prepare yourselves, record the patterns on the Holy Stone Tablet, and then return to the Order of the Church immediately."

"Yes!"
