This is why the stone monkey became the only variable in the prehistoric world, causing the six sages to place their bets on him, wanting to control him.

Laozi once refined it in the Eight Trigrams Furnace, intending to make it his own.

Strangely, the monkey could even restrain a saint, but when faced with the insignificant incense and prayer power of those mortals, it was powerless to fight back. Even its cultivation was sealed and not improved at all, leaving only an unwilling heart.

The six sages discussed the "Journey to the West." Apart from eliminating some unruly demons and disciplining some disobedient immortals and Buddhas, their main purpose was to find out the "root" of Sun Wukong through a series of tests—it was definitely not as simple as the Spiritual Stone Monkey, one of the Four Chaotic Monkeys.

A monkey asked, though it couldn't speak human language, it spoke in monkey language, "Should I seek out the Great Sage's potential, or find a mountain and become its king?"

Jiang Liu laughed and said, "I'm going to attain the state of one mind and enlightenment!"

The monkeys shook their heads, but since they all wanted to leave Flower Fruit Mountain, they joined together to cut down trees and build rafts and boats.

Because the monkeys had all been taught martial arts and magic by the old ape, they were all quite strong. Before long, they had cut down a lot of trees and arrived at a barren open space near the coast. They began to peel bark, cut tree trunks, tie ropes, and build boats and rafts.

However, because it is necessary to make offerings to the Buddha's head, it has to come out every once in a while to devour the innate energy of the flowers, trees, fish, insects, birds and beasts in this area, which in turn causes the green forests to disappear and the flowers and grasses to vanish.

His divine power is boundless and inexhaustible; countless fragments of stone fall like rain, a mighty torrent crashing down upon his head.

The river flows fearlessly, laughing heartily, the universe ripples, and even the smallest hair trembles. From one, it transforms into a thousand, then ten thousand, trillions of golden rays piercing the mountain ravines. A single breath, primordial and unified, proves the primordial unity; the mind, like a monkey and a horse, roams the heavens, and eighty-four thousand white rays appear.

All the beasts in the forest fled, and the fish and shrimp in the sea all shrank back.

Shi Gandang is a spirit formed from a five-colored immortal stone, connected to heaven and earth, with boundless divine power; the river's energy flows through the nine orifices, yin descends and yang rises, yet it is eternal.

After sixty rounds, Jiang Liu spotted the strange Buddha head behind Shi Gandang, transformed into a streak of light, and struck it down. He then noticed a crack on Shi Gandang's back, the very crack left when the stone monkey was born. He chuckled and said, "Enough! Enough! Enough! We should be one!"

But then Gu Yueyuanjue moved, gathering his energy and dispersing his form, and entered the crevice of the stone monster. He circulated nine times and filled the crevice.

Afterwards, the stone monster remained calm, its body continuously shrinking until it became 136 feet 5 inches tall, corresponding to the 365 degrees of the celestial sphere; 24 feet in circumference, corresponding to the 24 solar terms of the calendar; and with nine orifices and eight holes on it, the immortal stone arranged according to the Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams, displaying five colors, resembling a self-formed Eight Trigrams furnace, refining the Five Elements within, and forming its own celestial sphere.

The monkey spirit enters the womb and merges with the source; water and fire harmonize in the central palace.

When metal and wood unite, the elixir will naturally form to mend the flaws in the heavens.

Through Jiang Liu's cultivation, Shi Gandang returned to his original form, merging with his body and becoming one with it. This allowed his body to connect with heaven and earth, and his strength and breath to be inexhaustible.
