Steve and Sharon Carter walked out of the apartment building, and Steve took Carter to an affordable Italian restaurant a few blocks away for dinner.

“Peter, you almost messed things up,” Harry scolded Peter.

“Sorry, I’ll be more careful next time,” Peter said.

“You dare to do it again!” Harry looked at Peter.

"There won't be a next time!" Peter realized he had misspoke again.

“Harry, do you think Steve might get infected with some kind of virus?” Peter asked.

“I don’t know, but I don’t think so. He’s Steve, after all,” Harry said.

"It's a real shame I can't go out tomorrow; Leo has to give me a lesson."

“I have something to do too. I need to assemble these parts that Steve helped me find.” Peter weighed his backpack in his hand.

"Assembling radios, is that it?"

"Yes."

Harry took out his phone and called the butler, Bernard. He chatted with Peter on the street for a while, and then Bernard drove over to pick Harry up.

Peter walked towards the station. Brooklyn is below Queens, so taking the bus would save him some walking. An unlimited bus pass for $68 a month—might as well use it.

Back home, in his room, Peter put down his backpack and took out his phone from his pocket.

Peter called Li Qun twice on his cell phone today, but Li Qun didn't answer. Peter has been worried about her.

"What are you busy with again?" Peter muttered to himself.

He opened his backpack, took out the parts one by one and placed them on the desk, then got up and went downstairs to find his toolbox.

Just after Peter left the room, a portal opened under his bed. Bruce Banner promptly returned the cardboard box he had taken. If Peter had been observant, he would have noticed a significant change in the dust around the box.

Peter carried his toolbox back to his room and started tinkering at his desk. Midway through, Aunt May called Peter to dinner, and after dinner, Peter went back into his room and didn't stop until he had successfully tinkered with the radio.

After Aunt May and Uncle Ben had gone to sleep, Peter, holding a radio, searched for radio signals by the window, constantly adjusting the radio frequency under the dim light of the desk lamp.

Peter pulled a note out of his backpack. The note contained the NYPD's communications channel that Gwen had given him.

He made several adjustments and finally succeeded in receiving the police's internal communication channel, where the officers' voices came through the radio.

"呲呲..."

Peter smiled with satisfaction; he could sleep soundly tonight.

I did it!

Peter sent messages to both Li Qun and Gwen.

"Could you bring it to the school to see?"

Gwen replied to the message.

"sure."

"Gwen, there's been no news from Li Qun again today. Do you know what's going on?"

"Liqun always silences his phone, Peter, you'll have to get used to it."

Chapter 67 The First Lesson of Magic

Before going to bed, Li Qun checked her phone and saw several missed calls and unread messages, which made her heart skip a beat.

It was already late. Li Qun just glanced at the unread messages and, seeing that Peter and Gwen didn't have anything important to say, went to sleep peacefully, deciding to return their calls the next day after he woke up.

Li Qun was well aware of this bad habit of his; although he always carried a mobile phone, he rarely answered calls immediately. This bad habit was brought over from the old world.

Li Qun put down his phone, closed his eyes, and pondered.

He didn't answer his phone or check his messages because he spent the whole night reinforcing what he had learned that day and repeatedly digesting what Bruce Banner had taught him.

Li Qun was secretly pleased to have learned so much and mastered it for the first time, but he was also very worried.

He lacked confidence in his abilities and worried that this state was only temporary and that he might forget it all after a good night's sleep.

The brain is the most unfathomable aspect of a person's being.

An individual's athletic ability can be clearly represented by data, but the brain is not so good at it; it is impossible to use accurate data to measure a person's mental strength, willpower, and thinking ability.

In terms of willpower, when a person is in an optimistic state, the willpower they exhibit is extremely strong, just like when Li Qun initially increased his willpower. He only aimed to raise the upper limit of his willpower, naively believing that his willpower had actually increased. This naiveté led Li Qun to use a willpower level he had never increased to resist physical pain, and it actually produced some results.

……

……

"I'm sorry, Peter, I didn't mean to not answer your call. I happened to be in class yesterday and couldn't answer the phone."

"Attending extracurricular classes."

"He is a very good teacher who taught me to program using mathematical thinking."

"The other person is a PhD in computer science, and the tuition fee is very cheap."

“I plan to attend classes with this teacher every weekend so that we can start our startup project as soon as possible.”

"Of course we will protect our ideas."

Don't worry.

Is Gwen in class too?

What classes does she take?

"secret?"

"Ok."

"Don't be sad, Peter. You'll improve even faster than us when you go to college."

"……understood."

Liqun hung up the phone.

Poor Peter.

After making the call, Li Qun left for New York's Holy See.

Bruce Banner was his own teacher, a precious opportunity he couldn't pass up even if it meant taking leave from school.

When he was with Peter, Li Qun felt that he was not particularly talented, but he could only feel like a genius when he was with Bruce Banner.

Peter's "lifting" is nowhere near as good as Dr. Banner's "shoulder".

It took Li Qun nearly two hours to get from Chinatown in Queens to the front of 177A Brick Street in downtown Greenwich.

Li Qun knocked on the door, and the door opened to him.

After Li Qun entered, the doors of the Holy Sanctuary closed by themselves.

Bruce Banner, wearing pajamas and holding a cup of coffee, waved to Li Qun, and the two went to the library in Kamar-Taj.

Li Qun respectfully presented today's tuition fee, and Bruce Banner stuffed the money into his pocket.

"Here, take this."

Bruce Banner took out a sling ring, placed it on the table, and pushed it in front of Li Qun.

“Today I’ll teach you how to open a portal,” Bruce Banner said to Li Qun with difficulty, raising his eyelids.

"Dr. Banner, are you still holding on? Do you want to rest?" Li Qun asked with concern.

"Time difference, we have a time difference."

“I live according to the East 8 time zone,” Dr. Banner told Li Qun.

"Teleportation magic is very simple; it's a spell that every mage knows."

"With a clear goal and unwavering will, you can open the portal."

"Put it on..."

"Practice in the library, and whatever you do, don't leave the library," Bruce Banner reminded Li Qun.

"Why can't we leave the library?" Li Qun asked.

"Because you are special."

Am I special?

“This is an adult magic school, and you are a minor, which means you are illegally enrolled, understand?” Bruce Banner explained to Li Qun.

"understood."

“Very good. I like sensible kids like you,” Bruce Banner said.

“Mages with low magical power need to wear a slingshot to open a portal, but mages with high magical power do not.”

Banner showed Li Qun his hands, which held nothing but a watch.

Banner casually drew a circle, and a portal to Antarctica opened. On the ice field, penguins curiously observed Bruce Banner and Li Qun on the other side of the portal.

"Come here."

Li Qun held his breath and drew circles in the air with his right hand, which was adorned with a sash ring.

On the very first time, sparks shot out of the sky.

“Wait a minute, where does your portal lead?” Bruce Banner asked Li Qun.

“My bedroom,” Li Qun replied.

“Let’s go somewhere else, somewhere where there are no people,” Banner said.

“I have no idea about other places,” Li Qun said, looking at Bruce Banner.

The Sahara Desert!

Bruce Banner raised his hand and opened a portal to the Sahara Desert, allowing Li Qun to enjoy the scenery of the Sahara.

"I'll give it a try."

The Sahara Desert!

The space in front of Li Qun was sparkling with light, but the door remained closed.
