"No."
"I lack confidence in places I haven't been to; I can't open them."
"You must have confidence in yourself."
"You have to make the portal able to lead to places you've never been before."
"First of all, you know that the Sahara Desert exists on Earth, and you have seen the Sahara."
"You are in Kamar-Taj now. Do you know where Kamar-Taj is?"
"Kama Taj is in Nepal."
"Let me lend you a hand."
"what?"
Suddenly, a portal appeared beneath Li Qun's feet, and Li Qun fell into it.
Liqun instantly arrived in the Sahara Desert. New York is in the daytime hemisphere, as is the Sahara Desert, and the time difference between the two places is no more than seven hours.
"Isn't this how you play it?" Li Qun shouted, looking up at the portal above him.
"That's how my teacher taught me to learn quickly."
“Don’t worry, you won’t die in the Sahara,” Banner shouted to Li Qun through the portal.
The portal has closed.
Li Qun was in the Sahara Desert, the sun was hanging low in the sky, and he judged that it was afternoon in the Sahara Desert, and the hottest time of noon had passed.
But it's still very hot in the Sahara Desert.
Li Qun was sweating profusely, but he couldn't take off his clothes; he still had some knowledge of desert survival in his head.
"Karmar-Taj Library!!"
Li Qun was making fire circles in the desert.
Chapter 68 Learn from Me
The Sahara Desert is the world's largest tropical desert, with a total area roughly equal to the land area of the United States, covering 30 percent of the African continent.
The Sahara is not just endless yellow sand; it has other natural landforms, but these are no longer visible in Liqun today.
Liqun kept drawing circles with his hand in the vast desert, sparks flying everywhere.
"The Kamar-Taj Library!"
"Karmar-Taj Library!!"
After trying more than ten times without success, Liqun decided to try a different location.
"I want to pick mushrooms!"
The portal opened, and the portal opened by Liqun led directly to the depths of the mountains in southwestern Yunnan Province.
Late September marks the end of the wild mushroom picking season in Yunnan.
"Wow."
Li Qun stepped through the portal and entered the mountains.
In his mind, the concept of going up the mountain to pick wild mushrooms was clearer than the Kamar-Taj Library.
It was pitch black in China, but the moonlight was exceptionally bright, illuminating the southwestern mountains.
Pine forests, red soil, and moist, fresh air—Liqun judged that it had just rained in the mountains, making it the perfect time to pick wild mushrooms.
……
"Banner, someone has triggered my alarm."
Wang hurriedly approached Bruce Banner.
"What alarm?" Banner asked the king.
“I have set up a barrier in the library. Only those I allow can enter the library through the portal. You are one of them.”
“Just now, someone was frantically banging on the barrier I set up in the library, trying to sneak in,” Wang told Bruce Banner.
"Really? Your Majesty, are you kidding me? Why didn't you tell me about this sooner?" Banner looked at the King.
"What did you do? Why are you so nervous?" Wang looked Bruce Banner up and down.
Banner held his forehead, raised his hand, and opened a portal to the Sahara Desert. On the other side of the portal, the Liqun people were gone.
"Don't try that!"
Bruce Banner jumped into the desert, while the king stood in the library watching Banner anxiously searching for someone through a portal.
Is there quicksand here?
"Hulk, help me!"
The Hulk appears, and Banner has him create a whirlwind that blows the surrounding sand away.
"Not here."
"He must have succeeded; he's off to have some fun elsewhere," Bruce Banner muttered to himself.
Li Qun repeatedly applied to visit the Kamar-Taj Library in the desert, sparks flying everywhere, but the Kamar-Taj Library refused Li Qun's application.
Bruce Banner jumped back into the Kamar-Taj Library, where the King watched Banner operate with his arms crossed and an indifferent expression.
"Find me Liqun!"
Banner opened a portal in mid-air, and Li Qun fell out of the portal, along with a pile of wild mushrooms.
Banner picked up a porcini mushroom from the ground, puzzled.
"Dr. Banner, I succeeded." Li Qun looked down, lifted the sole of his shoe to look at it. The sole was covered with red mud, and every few steps he took left a string of red footprints.
"It's a problem on my end."
“Your Majesty, you need to add Li Qun to your whitelist,” Bruce Banner said, turning to the king.
“That’s impossible. Do you want to harm him?” Wang shook his head.
“Next time, take him to the Holy of Holies to practice.”
"What's going on?" Li Qun asked curiously.
"The reason it didn't work just now is because the library's magic refused your access," Bruce Banner explained to Li Qun.
"You can't just go anywhere through a portal. If you try to go to someone else's territory, something like what happened today will happen."
"I see."
“Dr. Banner, do I have a natural talent for being a mage?” Li Qun asked.
“Alright, I’ve taught you the portal magic you wanted to learn. If you want to become a mage apprentice, please wait until you turn eighteen,” Bruce Banner said to Li Qun.
"Wait, you've already learned it?"
"I have a gift for you."
Wang rummaged through his pockets and pulled out a talisman, which he handed to Liqun.
“It has been blessed by the Great Master, so it can protect you, help you succeed in your studies, and make everything go smoothly,” Wang said to Liqun.
Li Qun examined the amulet that Wang had given him. The cinnabar and yellow amulet was folded into a small triangular paper package, tied with a red thread, and three copper coins were hanging on it. The copper coins came from the Han, Tang and Song dynasties respectively.
"Grand Master?"
“Yes, he can also be called the Supreme Venerable One, the Supreme Master,” the King said.
“I am the current Sorcerer Supreme,” Bruce Banner emphasized from the side.
“Banner is not worthy of being called a Grand Wizard.” Wang glanced at Banner.
"I'll be eligible when I grow a long white beard. Hmm, my hair has to be dyed white too," Banner joked.
Li Qun hung the amulet on his keychain.
“My king, I’d like to borrow a few books. I’ll take Liqun to the Holy of Holies to teach him.”
Wang nodded, and Bruce Banner pulled on Li Qun's sleeve to move the books.
"They have all kinds of books here, but the pace of new book updates is rather slow. And if I want to know something new, I have to pay at the New York Library. You know what? They charge me $25 to look at a new paper," Banner said, grumbling.
“Your science teacher Octavius gave up too soon…”
"In my opinion, his research direction still has great potential."
"These books are enough."
“Molecular biology? Is that a book I should be reading?” Li Qun asked, pressing his chin against the book.
"Of course we need it."
"You need to study not only molecular biology, but also clinical medicine."
“But I’m just here for an ‘interest class’,” Li Qun said.
"It's my 'interest class'."
"Now that I've discovered you have a brilliant mind, stop wasting your time. I need an assistant, a research assistant. I already have the King's help with magic."
Bruce Banner glanced at the dozen or so professional books piled up on Li Qun's chest and felt that it was about right.
"You can go to class now."
Banner opened a portal, helped Li Qun carry half of the books, and the two returned to the New York Sanctuary.
……
……
"Repeat after me, radish!"
Gwen sat in the tutoring classroom, where an Asian female teacher pointed to the Chinese characters on the blackboard and taught the students the pronunciation of Chinese pinyin.
"Radish~!"
"very good!"
