America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

"I'm afraid you'll skip school to go find this person."
"alright."
……
After school, Li Qun revealed the answer to Harry and Peter.
“His name is Wade Wilson, and this is his phone number.”
“Mr. Wade?! No way?” Peter didn’t know what to say. His impression of Wade was that he was a humorous and talkative person.
"What should we do? Call now?"
Harry got Wade's phone number, but he was at a loss again.
"Let's ask him if he takes orders," Li Qun said.
"Oh, and don't tell him I introduced him," Li Qun reminded him.
"Ah."
Harry nodded and began dialing Wade's number.
After waiting a short while, Wade's glib accent came through the phone.
"Hello? This is Wade, the best driving instructor in all of New York..."
“Hello, Coach Wade, I heard you take on some private investigator jobs,” Harry said hesitantly.
“Private investigator? What kind of work? How much do you pay?” Wade asked over the phone.
“$3000?” Harry casually quoted a price.
“$6000.” Wade’s tone was very firm.
"make a deal."
"Uh...where should we meet?" Wade seemed a little regretful.
Harry covered his phone with his hand and whispered to Li Qun, "He asked me where we were meeting?"
"Let him show you what he's made of. Let's meet at the school library," Li Qun replied softly.
Harry released his grip and replied to Wade on the other end of the phone, "Tomorrow at 3:30 PM, Midtown High School library."
Chapter 85 Hiring Wade
"Midtown High School?"
Wade was wondering what was going on when Harry hung up the phone.
"Can a high school student come up with six thousand US dollars?"
Wade confirmed through Harry's accent and the agreed location that the person who wanted to hire him was a student.
"Let me find out where Midtown High School is located?"
Wade sat in the car and opened a map of New York City to look around.
"Midtown Science and Technology High School, is that it?" Wade wasn't quite sure, but after looking through the map, he could only find one school that could be called Midtown High School.
Wade started the car and headed to Midtown High School to scout the location.
……
……
At 3:30 p.m., Harry Osborne sat alone in the library. Peter, Lillian, and Gwen all had classes to attend, so he had to face Wade Wilson alone.
Harry's phone vibrated; Wade had messaged him, asking where he was in the library.
I was wearing a black turtleneck sweater.
Harry sent a message to Wade, and when he looked up, he saw a textbook-perfect nerd with black-rimmed glasses, a silly grin on his face, and a big backpack walking towards him.
"Hi~!!" Wade sat down next to Harry, turned his head and waved to Harry in a very quiet voice.
"I am Wade Wilson, what's your name?"
“Call me Harry, Harry Osborn,” Harry replied softly.
“Osborn? You’re not Norman Osborn’s son, are you?” Wade turned around and looked Harry up and down seriously.
“That’s right, I am Norman Osborn’s son.” Harry had no intention of hiding his identity from Wade.
“Great, now I don’t have to worry about you not being able to pay.” Wade smiled at Harry.
“Let’s get this straight, the six thousand dollars I mentioned yesterday was just a deposit. You have to give me six thousand dollars first before I’ll work for you,” Wade said.
“What?” Harry exclaimed incredulously.
"Six thousand dollars is already a bargain for you." Wade looked at Harry with an expression of having hit the jackpot.
"Let me guess, you want to hire me to investigate someone?"
"Your father Norman Osborn's illegitimate son, or secret lover?"
"Give me more money, and I'll take care of them for you while I'm at it," Wade whispered.
"That's not it……"
“I want you to investigate my father and find out where he is,” Harry said to Wade with a complicated expression.
"Follow him?" Wade asked.
Harry nodded.
“…Okay.” Wade nodded as well.
Tracking someone is such an easy job.
However, it is also very dangerous.
"Why would you want to hire someone to follow your dad?" Wade was eager to hear about the messy things that happen in wealthy families.
“I’m just worried about my father. He’s often away from home; I only see him once every month or two,” Harry replied quietly.
“I understand.” Wade gave Harry a meaningful smile.
"Cash or check?" Wade tilted his head and looked at Harry's backpack.
“Cash.” Harry pulled an envelope from his backpack.
"Can you guarantee you won't take it and run away?" Harry asked warily.
“You underestimate me. Do I look like someone without integrity?” Wade looked Harry in the eye and looked at Harry sincerely.
“You have to tell me where you live so I can find you,” Harry said.
"OK".
Do you need my email address?
“Write it down too.” Harry pushed the paper and pen over, and Wade began to write on the paper.
"All right."
Harry placed the envelope on the table, and Wade immediately stuffed it into his bag.
"When do we start work?" Wade asked.
"I'll message you, probably after Thanksgiving," Harry replied.
"Wade, is there anything else you want to ask?"
"Young Master Harry, do you want to take your driving test? $1000, guaranteed pass," Wade advertised to Harry.
"no need."
Harry picked up his backpack and headed towards the library door.
Wade turned around and watched Harry walk out of the library. His gaze swept across the library again, and Wade felt he could make a lot of money off the students.
Wade also got up and left the library, but instead of leaving the school, he wandered around the campus.
Sneaking into Midtown High School is not a difficult task.
Although there are security guards patrolling the school and police officers stationed outside, he can easily sneak in as long as he dresses as a student.
Wade sneaked into the gymnasium and openly watched the school cheerleading team rehearse from the stands.
“I should find a job as a physical education teacher.” Wade took off his silly-looking black-rimmed glasses.
……
Just as Harry had expected, Norman Osborne returned home the weekend after his midterms, and Norman told Harry that he would stay home until the end of Thanksgiving.
"Father, are we the only ones celebrating Thanksgiving together this year?" Harry asked tentatively, observing Norman's expression.
"us?"
Norman glanced at the butler, Bernard; every Thanksgiving was spent by the three of them.
“Yes,” Norman replied.
“I would like to invite Mr. Leopold to spend Thanksgiving with us,” Harry said.
“Of course,” Norman said.
"When will I know your midterm grades?" Norman changed the subject.
"on Monday."
"It's only Monday now."
“The mayor is coming to the school on Tuesday to celebrate Thanksgiving with us a day early,” Harry replied.
Norman turned on the television; he hadn't watched TV for over two months. In the secret research labs of Osborne Industries, he and Dr. Storm didn't have time to leisurely watch television; they could only keep up with the news through newspapers, and meetings with the company's board members were all conducted via telephone.
During the research, Norman discovered the source of the research materials provided by the military through handwriting comparison.
It's Bruce Banner.
Norman's psychological pressure increased once again.
Norman doesn't know why Bruce Banner stopped the research on this project, and just figuring out the research materials left behind by Bruce Banner has taken up most of Norman's time over the past few months.
