America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

Harry compiled and wrote all the materials for founding the club. The club's initial members were coincidentally twelve people, and all twelve signed their names on the club's roster.
History teacher David suggested that Harry give their kung fu club a specific name, like a kung fu school.
Harry asked his instructor, David, what he thought, and David suggested that their kung fu club could be called "The Fist of Justice".
Upon hearing the club name suggested by teacher David, Li Qun stared at David with a complicated expression for a long time until David noticed what Li Qun was thinking.
The club, founded by twelve members, is called "Fist of Justice." The core member is Li Qun, a student from Chinatown. Li Qun really wants to ask Teacher David if he thinks their application to become a student club is too easy.
At the end of September, their kung fu club passed through layers of approval from the school's management and was officially established at Midtown High School.
The school provided a classroom for the club, and Harry, as the club president, organized the club's first meeting on the last Friday of September.
"Isn't our activity room a bit empty? Is something missing?" Harry asked.
"Chinese character slogans?"
"Wooden dummy?"
"plaque?"
"Uniform training clothes?"
"portrait?"
"Could we apply to the school to renovate the activity room to resemble the Five Martial Arts Hall? And replace the floor with wooden flooring?" Reed asked.
"Yes, it's a portrait!!"
“We need to hang some portraits of kung fu masters in the classroom, just like we hang portraits of great scientists in the science classroom,” Harry said, looking at Lillian.
"Who do you all know?"
“Should Bruce Lee be hung up?” Peter said.
"Master White Eyebrows?" Reid asked tentatively.
“Okay.” Li Qun nodded.
"How is Dad?" Peter asked Li Qun.
“I think it’s great,” Gwen said.
“We need to get Dad’s permission to use his photos first,” Li Qun said with a complicated expression.
"Let me write this down. We also need to apply to the school for permission to renovate the classroom and hang photos..." Harry wrote in his notebook.
"The school will only approve your hanging of photos, not your classroom renovations. Renovating classrooms requires funding, and the Kung Fu Club is just a new club; the school only allocates club funding to established clubs," said instructor David.
"Can we fund our own club activities?" Harry asked.
“Yes,” Mr. David replied.
“That’s fine, I can pay ninety percent,” Harry said.
“Harry, are you going to spend all your saved allowance?” Peter asked.
"It's just a matter of renovating our activity room, and it won't even cost me all my saved allowance," Harry said with a smile.
"Let's discuss how to decorate!"
"Change the floor to wood flooring, and also change the walls to match the style of the wood flooring."
"We need to ensure proper soundproofing so that our kung fu practice doesn't disturb other classrooms."
"I need clothes hangers and a shoe cabinet..."
"We need a massage bed. Who wouldn't want to relax their muscles and bones after a workout?"
"Could we put a refrigerator in there?"
"Does anyone like coffee? It would be nice to have a coffee machine."
"Don't you think the wooden dummy is too old-fashioned? We can make a kung fu robot to be our sparring partner."
“You’re all great,” Li Qun said to the other eleven gang members.
“Liqun, what are you planning to teach us?” Stephanie asked.
"Tai Chi, most people's kung fu starts with Tai Chi," Li Qun said casually.
“We need a club logo so people can immediately recognize us as the Kung Fu Club.” Harry changed the subject, feeling that continuing to talk about classroom renovations would lead him astray.
“A fist symbol?” suggested Mr. David.
"Teacher David, are you still thinking about the Fist of Justice?" Li Qun asked.
“Okay, I don’t recommend it anymore.” David gestured for him to shut up.
“How about using Bruce Lee’s silhouette as the club logo? Like this,” Peter suggested.
“It looks like a sports brand logo.” Harry grinned, revealing a row of white teeth.
“Use the Chinese character ‘武’ directly. Set up a large sign in the activity room, and make smaller signs into badges to wear.” Red also drew a diagram in his notebook to show Harry.
“Both are hard to choose from…” Harry looked left and right. He felt that Peter and Red’s ideas were both very good, and he couldn’t bear to give up either of them.
“How about we combine these two graphics?” Gwen suggested.
Behind the silhouette of Bruce Lee's kung fu moves was the Chinese character "武" (wu, meaning martial arts), and Gwen quickly drew her suggestion as well.
"That's great! It's decided then!"
“Gwen, please draw it in more detail. I’ll contact a factory to make a custom club badge,” Harry said.
Harry was brimming with energy, as if he were starting a company.
After the first club meeting, the advisor, David, took a thick stack of applications to several school leaders for approval.
They need to open a bank account in the name of the Kung Fu Club to deposit the club's activity funds and renovation expenses into this account.
There is no such requirement for other ordinary clubs in the school; it's just that Harry is too rich and willing to invest too much money in clubs.
The school did not reject the Kung Fu Club's application to renovate the classroom.
The school is happy to have students pay for classroom renovations themselves.
"Can the renovation be finished in a month?" Peter asked Harry.
"Peter, do you know where we are?"
"We're at school."
“No, we’re in New York. It’s hard for a renovation company to survive in New York if it’s inefficient,” Harry told Peter.
After becoming the club president, Harry began to openly make and receive phone calls at school. Every day after school, around 3 PM, he would go to the activity room to supervise the renovation workers, while during class time, Harry hired Stan Lee to help oversee the renovations.
The activity room was under renovation and unusable for more than a month, so the school allocated a small area on campus for Li Qun and his group to use. Every morning and after school, students at Zhongcheng High School could see the twelve members of the Kung Fu Club practicing Tai Chi together on that area on campus.

"Isn't it unnecessary to open all the windows?" Harry said to Liqun, puzzled.
"It's necessary, absolutely necessary!"
“If you don’t want to get acute leukemia, then listen to me. Harry, can’t you smell the strong chemical odor in the classroom?” Liqun said to Harry.
The club's activity room has been renovated, and the three club presidents, Li Qun, Harry, and Peter, have come to inspect the renovation.
"I want to live a little longer, so tomorrow I'll bring a humidifier to the classroom to properly dissipate the formaldehyde." Li Qun took out his magic mask and put it on.
“I also feel like something’s off about the smell in the classroom, Harry. You have to listen to us,” Peter said to Harry, frowning.
"Okay, I'll listen to you. I also want to live a long life."
“But our activity rooms are all renovated. Wouldn’t continuing to use that school grounds cause some people to be unhappy?” Harry said.
They knew who Harry was referring to: Ms. Warren, the school's counselor.
On several mornings, as they practiced Tai Chi together, Ms. Warren would stare at them from a distance with an unfriendly expression.
“Let’s go talk to the vice principal; he’ll understand,” Li Qun said.
Harry was extremely pleased with the club's activity room.
Their activity room has a television set and a VCR, so they can watch movies there; there's also a bookshelf, which they discussed in a club meeting, planning to fill with comics and novels; punching bags and wooden dummy sets are already in place, and photos of Bruce Lee and the movie character Whitebrow are hanging on the wall, but Dad's photo hasn't been put up yet; they haven't chosen a refrigerator model yet, but the air conditioner is already installed. Besides the refrigerator, there are also cabinets for storing miscellaneous items and a coffee machine to be placed on top of those cabinets.
"Your base is really awesome."
Harry turned to look at the door, where Stan Lee stood smiling.
The old man looked around the activity room of the kung fu club with curiosity.
"Do I need to take off my shoes to come in?" Stan Lee asked.
“Not now,” Harry said.
"We're still debating whether or not to take our shoes off."
“From the time we go to school until we come home, some people’s feet are bound to smell after a whole day. It would be terrible to require them to take off their shoes,” Li Qun said.
“I thought so too, so I’ll come in.” Stan Lee walked into the activity room.
“I’ve been curious for a while about what the school was going to do with this classroom, I never imagined it would be your club room,” Stan Lee said.
"Can I come here to relax when I have some free time?"
“Of course you’re welcome, Stan Lee,” Harry said.
“I’ll also lend you a hand; I’m best at cleaning,” Stan Lee said with a smile.
"What beautiful wooden floors."
Stan Lee walked up to the wooden dummy and curiously hit it twice.
“So this is what it feels like?” Stan Lee said.
“Stan Lee, would you like to practice Tai Chi with us?” Li Qun asked.
"No, thank you. I'm getting old, and I don't like to overwork myself," Stan Lee said with a smile.
“There’s nowhere to sit,” Stan Lee said after looking around the activity room.
“You could put up a few benches, the kind without backrests, like the ones in the school team's locker room,” Stan Lee suggested.
“Actually, we were all sitting on the wooden floor,” Harry said to Stan Lee.
