America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

"Stan Lee, do you have any news about the street fighting tournament?" Peter asked with concern.
“Oh, who among you wants to participate this year?” Stan Lee asked, looking at Li Qun.
“It’s Peter, Peter wants to participate,” Li Qun said.
“Peter? Ha, Peter, you’ll waste your registration fee,” Stan Lee said.
"I will work hard."
“I’ve heard some rumors that this year’s street fighting tournament will be held in the period leading up to Thanksgiving, with the finals taking place the day before Thanksgiving,” Stan Lee said.
"Thanksgiving? They really know how to pick their timing," Li Qun said.
“Peter, you’re going to participate in the street fighting tournament?” Harry asked Peter.
“I discussed this with Li Qun during the summer vacation. We’ve been waiting for the street fighting tournament, and we don’t plan to tell anyone before it starts,” Peter said.
“I need to buy a camera and record your game properly,” Harry said with a smile.
“It’s not necessary, Harry.” Peter’s ears gradually turned red; he was a little embarrassed.
“The game footage can serve as a valuable asset for our club, to be admired by future generations after we graduate,” Harry said.
“We absolutely have to do it this way, haha!!” Stan Lee laughed.
"Do as you please," Peter said, giving up on trying to persuade Harry.
“Mary Jane would love to see you do a great job,” Harry said.
“How are you going to show it to her?” Peter asked.
“Find Mary Jane’s aunt’s phone number in the Yellow Pages, then call her and mail her a copy of the game video,” Harry said.
The group left the activity room, making sure to lock the door behind them.
“Refrigerator, coffee machine, we have to buy all these things ourselves,” Harry said as he walked.
“Let’s go pick out a refrigerator, a storage cabinet, and a coffee machine together on Saturday, and have the supermarket deliver them to the school on Monday,” Li Qun said.
"Another weekend packed with schedules."
At the activity area on campus, other members of the club gathered around.
"Are you free on Saturday? Let's go to the supermarket together to buy the things the activity room needs," Harry asked.
“I’m free,” Stephanie said, raising her hand.
Raising one's hand to speak is a requirement that Li Qun imposes on its members, and they are used to it.
"I'm free too."
"I have to do a part-time job, sorry."
“I can come, but it depends on which supermarket we go to.”
After some discussion, it was decided that half of the club members could come.
"Our club has an important event coming up in about a week, so I'm giving you a heads-up," Harry said with a laugh, while Peter scratched his head in frustration.
"Is the club finally going to recruit new members?"
"No, that's not it. The club's recruitment period has already passed, and we'll have to wait until next semester. The initial members will only be the twelve of us," Harry emphasized.
"I know, they're going to teach me new kung fu!" Reed shouted excitedly.
"New kung fu?! Yes! I can do Tai Chi with my eyes closed now, so they need to teach us something new!"
"Some people laugh at our kung fu because it's not practical in real combat."
"Hey, learning kung fu isn't about going to fight with other people."
Chapter 166 Small, but also very cute
On the way home from school, posters were plastered all over the street walls, with striking designs for street fighting tournaments.
This year's street fighting tournament was delayed by more than half a year, and the hype surrounding it before the event was much greater than in previous years.
Li Qun stopped in front of the posters, chose a slightly cleaner one, peeled it off the street wall, and put it in his backpack.
The price of tickets remains the same as in previous years. The only difference is that the organizers have secured dedicated venues for the competition in various neighborhoods, which can accommodate many people and are no longer temporary structures set up on the streets as in previous years.
New York street fighting tournaments appear to be transitioning to more professional combat sports starting this year.
Li Qun waited for the public bus at the station, taking out a poster from his backpack to check the competition rules.
Finding out the age limit for contestant registration, which stipulates that it starts from 16 years old, made Li Qun secretly breathe a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, there was no requirement to be 18 years old, otherwise he and Peter would have had to fake their registration.
Li Qun checked the prize money again. The district champion received $50,000, and the New York City champion received $200,000.
The public bus arrived at the station. Li Qun boarded the bus with the poster in his hand, found a seat, and continued to study the match information on the poster.
Peter's goal is simply to win the Queens championship, but he could also aim for the New York City championship.
"Will Steve participate? If he signs up, he should be able to win the Brooklyn championship."
Li Qun put the poster back into his backpack. He had a habit of carrying his backpack in front of his chest, just like Peter and Gwen.
Wearing your backpack on your back will make you vulnerable to theft.
There are just as many thieves in New York as in Paris.
When the public bus arrived at the station, Li Qun got off and walked a short distance back to Chinatown. Once home, she put her backpack down first.
"Liqun, the photo studio called and said the photos are ready. They want you to go pick them up," his aunt said to Liqun.
"I understand, I'll go right away, Auntie."
"Liqun, how is Dad's health?" Aunt asked.
"Dad is in good health, what's wrong?" Liqun didn't understand why his aunt was suddenly concerned about his father's health.
"Why did Dad suddenly want such a big portrait photo?" Auntie asked.
Liqun realized what was happening.
“I founded a kung fu club at school. My dad is my master. I teach my classmates kung fu. My dad is their grandmaster,” Li Qun explained to his aunt.
"So that's how it is. I was overthinking it." My aunt raised an eyebrow.
Li Qun went to the photo studio in Chinatown, took his father's large portrait back to his bedroom, and put it there. He planned to take it to school on Monday and hang it in the activity room.
In the evening, Liqun went to have dinner with his father. His father had added a lot of new things to his house on the second floor, many of which looked like souvenirs brought back from other countries.
"Liqun, talk to your uncle and tell him not to help with the cooking anymore," the old man said to Liqun.
"What's wrong, Dad?"
"I'm planning to cook for myself now. The vegetables are so cheap back home, and there's a wide variety too," Dad said to Liqun, pointing to the kitchen, where there was a small mountain of vegetables and fruits.
“My uncle will overthink it,” Li Qun said to his father.
“It’s alright, just have him come over and have a meal with me when he has time,” Dad said.
"Can I just call him over for dinner without mentioning that you don't want to trouble him to cook anymore, Dad?" Li Qun asked.
"Alright, just pass on the message like this."
"Dad, do you want to go back to your hometown to live?" Li Qun asked.
Li Qun could tell that ever since his father mastered the teleportation spell, he spent most of his day on the other side of the earth, except when he came back to sleep. His father had no interest in running the pawn shop anymore.
"Not really," Dad replied.
"The photo studio has finished making the photos, and I'll hang them up at school next Monday." Seeing that his father was trying to avoid the topic, Liqun changed the subject.
"Dad, would you like to come to our school and visit our kung fu club?"
"Alright, let's see what you've done," the old man agreed.
"Dad, I'd like to borrow your car on Saturday. The club needs it for their weekend activities. I promise the car will be in good condition."
What kind of activity are you having?
“Go to the supermarket to pick out some things for the activity room. Peter will drive Gwen’s car, but we need another car,” Li Qun explained.
"Remember to fill up the gas tank."
"I will."
"The car keys are in the usual place. Come and pick them up yourself on Saturday."
Liqun nodded.
The fact that Dad said that means he's going to open a portal to travel to another place on Saturday.
After dinner, Li Qun and his father went to the New York Sanctuary, but the Sanctuary was just a transit point. Li Qun, his father, and Dr. Banner then went to Kamar-Taj.
The old man went to Kamar-Taj to practice magic, while Liqun continued to work late into the night in Dr. Banner's laboratory, conducting experiments.
"Dr. Banner, have you ever heard of the name Walter White?"
“Walter White? Never heard of him.” Dr. Banner shook his head.
What's wrong with this person?
“Walter White was a chemistry teacher, and Peter asked him some questions about spider silk proteins, which Mr. Walter helped Peter very well.”
“Peter is also researching how to make clothes using his own spider silk,” Li Qun said to Dr. Banner.
“There are plenty of smart people in this world. Sometimes you can find down-on-their-luck nuclear physicists and Marine Corps ace operatives on the street!” Dr. Banner laughed.
"Is it possible for a special forces king to retire and return home to find his daughter living in a doghouse?" Li Qun jokingly asked Dr. Banner.
“I’ve not only heard of it, I’ve also seen it.” Dr. Banner’s smile faded.
"For the U.S. military, most people are expendable, tools, and can be used and discarded."
“Those officers are the worst of the worst.” Dr. Banner said with a serious expression.
"I've got it."
"Listen, if any military personnel ever ask you to do anything, never agree. Be extremely wary if they try to negotiate anything with you."
"If a conflict arises with the military, do not have any illusions about them, and be prepared to completely destroy all of their forces."
