America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

"Wade, I think I understand where your problem lies."
"What do you mean?" Wade looked at Li Qun.
“You may have a reading disability. To solve a problem, you need to extract useful information from the question, but most of the information you extract is wrong,” Li Qun said.
“I might be a bit allergic to words,” Wade said.
"Now we're not having math class, we're having English class instead."
Li Qun took out an English dictionary and, with Wade's help, analyzed the meaning of the question word by word.
Li Qun is very patient. He also tutored Shuangxi's studies in the same way. Shuangxi's current grades are considered excellent among his classmates.
Time flew by during the study session. An hour later, Li Qun felt that they had covered enough material for the evening's lesson, as Wade, who was suffering from ADHD, was nearing his limit.

Peter sat on the edge of the bed, in a cardboard box in front of him were the spider silk bodysuits he had made.
Peter had been looking forward to this night for a long time, finally the exam was over.
Peter took the clothes out of the box and laid them out on the bed, looking down at the spider silk bodysuit.
Peter felt that the bodysuit needed some decoration; a spiderweb bodysuit without lines, color blocks, or logos would feel like being naked.
Peter took a few comic books off the shelf, intending to draw inspiration from them.
Red and blue is the most classic color scheme. Superman and Wonder Woman both use these two colors. Peter has chosen the color he wants to dye the spider silk bodysuit.
Peter still really likes using the spider as a symbol. The Flash's lightning bolt symbol and Superman's 'S' symbol both represent the origin of their powers, so choosing the spider symbol can be seen as a tribute to his "predecessors".
As Peter designed his "spider" symbol in his notebook, he decided in his heart that he wanted to become a "masked hero" who helps people.
He's not a "superhero" from a comic book, just a kind person who happens to pass by at night.
After gaining the power of the spider, Peter felt as if he were trapped in a "spider web," and the more he used this power, the deeper he was entangled in the "spider web."
When Peter finished making the spider silk bodysuit, he felt a sense of relief for some reason.
The spider silk bodysuit resembles a cocoon formed during the metamorphosis of an insect larva, and when he put on the spider silk bodysuit, he entered the adult form of an insect.
Peter thought to himself that he wished he were a little less intelligent. His mind wouldn't be so active, he wouldn't think about so many things, and he wouldn't feel that the spider's power was an invisible shackle, which would have made him feel less psychologically burdened in using this "special talent."
At this moment, the scene in Peter's bedroom was a little strange.
Peter, dressed only in a spider silk bodysuit, sat at his desk, head down, intently drawing one spider shape after another.
The pure white spider silk bodysuit made Peter look like he wasn't wearing anything under the bedroom light.
He would stand up from time to time, pose in front of the full-length mirror, memorize the poses, and then return to his desk to draw them in his sketchbook.
Chapter 255 Passing by a Pete
"Hey, Liqun, have you eaten yet?"
"I ate. My aunt made wontons this morning, and I had wonton noodles."
“That’s a very good answer. My dad said it’s the most traditional way of greeting in Aurora culture.”
"Yes." Li Qun nodded.
"What does wonton noodles taste like? Oh, I really wish we could be family," Wade said, looking at Li Qun.
“My family’s restaurant has wonton noodles on the secret menu, which is usually only available to international students. If you want to eat it, Wade, you’ll have to learn how to pronounce wonton noodles in Mandarin.”
"Tell me about today's arrangements," Li Qun said to Wade.
"Now, let's go to John's house and get Dad's car. I've borrowed Dad's car, and I have the keys."
John doesn't drive his car either; he and Helen ride in our car, and we go to look at cars together.
"Mhm." Li Qun nodded.
“John, Helen, and I talked a lot on the phone. We only have one goal today: to go see the Ford Wood Wagon.”
"What is a wood-grain earthenware travel car?" Li Qun asked.
"The wood grain refers to the wood grain pattern on the trim panels on both sides of the car body. The wagon is the car's model, which extends the trunk space while maintaining the shape of a four-door car. You'll see when you see it," Wade said.
"This is a very classic family car; you'll see it on the road."
Li Qun and Wade got into the car. Wade was the driver today, and Li Qun sat in the passenger seat.
“You’ll be in the passenger seat later, and John and Helen can sit in the back,” Wade said.
"Okay, sir."
"Take this."
Wade placed a baby doll in Li Qun's arms, and Li Qun looked at Wade with a puzzled expression.
Li Qun was well aware that Helen would have difficulty having children with John due to her illness and the effects of the medication.
What is Wade planning to do by bringing along a baby doll?
"Okay, let's not go through with it then." Wade got out of the car and took the baby doll away.
“Wade, have you forgotten something?” Li Qun asked.
"Forgot what?"
“Miss Mary,” Li Qun reminded her.
“No need to take her. She went for a walk with Dad,” Wade said.
"She's completely smitten with her dad and has forgotten about me, her father."
"Perhaps she felt that her father could provide her with better living conditions?" Li Qun said.
Yes, yes.
Wade started the car, and it suddenly veered off the side of the road and onto the street.
"I haven't fastened my seatbelt yet!"
“Neither do I,” Wade said.
"I've tied it up."
"So fast, help me tie it too."
Wade pulled his seatbelt over and asked Li Qun to help him insert it into the buckle.
“Listen to the sound of that engine…” Wade said.
"This is a Mazda."
"They have a real knack for engines."
“This is a family car,” Li Qun reminded Wade.
"Liqun, you must get a Mazda sports car like John someday."
"Why Mazda? Why not Ferrari or BMW?"
“You should drive a Mazda too, so it will feel like a family heirloom with your dad’s Mazda,” Wade said.
"Liqun, look, this is the wagon I was talking about."
Wade pointed to a car driving on the road, and Li Qun immediately understood all of Wade's explanations about the car.
"It is indeed a very classic family car," Li Qun said.
“I bet you, the driver of this red wagon is a fat, old white man in a white shirt.”
"Is that a good way to put it? Where did this stereotype come from?" Li Qun asked.
"He probably has three children and a dog."
"I'm going to overtake them."
"Be careful," Li Qun warned.
Upon seeing the driver of the red wagon, Li Qun realized that Wade's stereotypes were indeed true.
The other person was a middle-aged, overweight, typical middle-class white man from the city, wearing glasses, a jacket over a white shirt, and a briefcase on the passenger seat.
“I guess his name is Pete,” Wade said, turning to Li Qun and repeating his stereotype.
"OK."
Looking at Wade, Li Qun felt that Wade's ability to break through the fourth-dimensional wall was already beginning to show.
Seeing Wade overtake him with a smile on his face, the driver of the red wagon also became serious, feeling that he had been offended by Wade.
“He’s going to overtake me,” Wade said.
“Then let him surpass it,” Li Qun said to Wade.
"How can this be allowed?!"
"This is Dad's car."
“Okay, I’ll let him overtake me.” Wade instantly calmed down.
“Dad really works,” Li Qun said.
“I just didn’t want the old man to worry about me or his car,” Wade said.
A red full-size wagon passed by the Mazda, and "Pete" grinned and gave Wade and Liqun the middle finger.
“This will make him happy all day,” Li Qun said.
John Wick and Helen's home is near the suburbs of New York City, an hour's drive from Chinatown. Considering New York's traffic, an hour's drive isn't that far.
John and Helen, who were inside the house, heard the sound of a car stopping in the driveway. They came out to greet Wade and Li Qun, with the little Labrador following behind John.
"Good morning, have you eaten?" Wade greeted John and Helen.
"Wade, are you trying to freeload again?" John Wick asked directly.
“John, you’re overthinking it. This is a very traditional Eastern greeting. You just need to reply ‘I’ve eaten,’” Wade said.
