America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

There's no need for you to apologize to me.
"How did you..." Qiao looked at Liqun.
"What?" Li Qun also looked at Qiao.
"How did you accept it?" Joe asked.
Mrs. Chen tugged at Qiao's sleeve again, even harder than before, but Qiao ignored the warning and insisted on hearing Li Qun's answer.
“At first, I felt like I was in a fog, unable to see anything clearly, and the whole world felt unreal to me.”
"Later, the fog slowly dissipated, and I could see clearly that there were still many people around me."
Li Qun heard Mrs. Chen's heavy breathing.
Li Qun didn't use a metaphor; it was his genuine feeling. During his initial hospital stay, he was nearsighted and didn't wear glasses, nor did anyone put them on for him. He couldn't see anything clearly and could only hear sounds.
"I should probably head back now," Li Qun said, raising his hand to glance at his watch.
"Joe, come over and visit sometime."
"it is good."
Li Qun walked out of the laundromat and glanced back. The glass door of the laundromat, fogged up by water vapor, made the people inside appear hazy.
Li Qun vaguely sensed the difference between him and Qiao; Qiao could only rely on his mother.
Back home, Shuangxi was eating dinner alone.
"Brother, have you eaten?" Shuangxi asked Liqun, holding up a bowl.
"I'll eat at my dad's place later," Li Qun said.
"What are you eating?" Shuang Xi asked curiously.
"It's probably hot pot, hot pot is more convenient," Li Qun replied.
“I just went to the laundromat and ran into Joe. We chatted for a while.”
"Oh."
"What do you think of Joe?" Li Qun asked.
“I’m worried he won’t get his diploma.”
"He failed his course?"
"He failed math last semester. He drew a spider on the test paper, didn't answer a single question, and got a zero," Shuangxi said.
Does his mother know?
"Of course I know."
“Mrs. Chen had no choice.” Li Qun thought of his father’s expression.
"Can we go to Dad's place for hot pot next time?" Shuangxi asked.
“Sure,” Li Qun nodded.
"Now, I need to prepare some ingredients to take over."
Shuangxi watched as Liqun rummaged through the refrigerator for two tomatoes, grabbed some leafy greens, and scraped two potatoes clean by the sink. Once everything was ready, he left the house.
For families that own a restaurant, the one thing they never lack is ingredients.

"My God!!"
Inside the Sanctuary, Wade was looking at the spinal cord stem cell research report that Dr. Banner had given him.
Because it was written for Wade, Dr. Banner used the easiest-to-understand language to describe the differences between his spinal cord stem cells and those of a normal person.
"Wow! I've actually mutated genetically?!" Wade exclaimed.
"This is a very unscientific genetic mutation. It feels to me like someone has drawn a super-large magic circle on your DNA."
"If I have a child, will my mutated gene be passed on?" Wade asked Dr. Banner curiously.
"Yes, I'm 100% sure."
“However, it’s uncertain whether your near-immortal healing ability can be reliably inherited,” Dr. Banner replied.
"Do I need to pass on my precious mutated genes?" Wade laughed.
Do you want to create your own family?
"Who wouldn't?" Wade retorted.
"What don't you want to think about?" Li Qun walked out of the portal carrying the groceries.
"I've been waiting for you for a while, Liqun. Dad, let's eat!" Wade shouted.
Why did it take you so long to get here?
The old man took the vegetables from Liqun's hands, tore the leafy greens into pieces by hand and sprinkled them into the hot pot. Two peeled potatoes were also instantly sliced by the old man's knife skills and put into the hot pot together.
I went to the laundromat.
Chapter 277 Wade's Scientific Research Value
What are your thoughts?
"Mrs. Chen was wearing makeup, but her makeup skills weren't very good. I could still tell that she didn't look well."
“Joe seems fine on the surface, but he gave himself away as soon as he opened his mouth,” Li Qun said to his father.
"What are you talking about now? Who are Mrs. Chen and Joe?" Dr. Banner asked.
“Mrs. Chen is Joe’s mother. She runs a laundromat near us. Their situation is worrying,” the old man replied.
"Is it a typical East Asian family? Are the parents putting too much pressure on their children?" Dr. Banner brought up a stereotype.
"I only know that Joe is undergoing psychotherapy, but I'm not sure what kind of mental health issues he has," Dad said.
"I feel there's some connection."
"Qiao is clearly not in a good mental state. Shuangxi said that if Qiao continues in his current state, he will not be able to get his high school diploma in a year."
“Why do you have to keep going to school when you should rest?” Li Qun said.
"Not going to school?" Wade looked at Li Qun.
“Applying for a leave of absence is not difficult. My uncle was prepared for me to take a leave of absence if I couldn’t adapt to the new school…” Li Qun said.
"Let alone Asian families, it's pretty much the same in normal white families. If their child says they don't want to go to school, the parents will go crazy," Wade said.
"There are still differences in the details."
“Asian kids can get themselves into trouble at school, but white kids are unlikely to push themselves to that point,” Dr. Banner said.
“I’ve got it,” Li Qun said.
What came to your mind?
“Mrs. Chen and Joe are both avoiding the issue because they’re embarrassed. If Joe were to tell Mrs. Chen that he doesn’t want to continue in school, Mrs. Chen would let him take a leave of absence. After that, Joe could properly treat his mental health issues,” Li Qun said.
"Will Mrs. Chen grant her son's request?" Wade asked skeptically.
“They are mother and son who depend on each other for survival. Mrs. Chen loves her son, and she will definitely agree,” the old man said.
“It’s also possible that it might not,” Dr. Banner disagreed.
"Why?" Li Qun looked at Dr. Banner.
“If Mrs. Chen knew that Qiao’s idea of dropping out of school came from someone else’s suggestion, she wouldn’t have agreed.”
“It’s true that being advised to take a leave of absence by others and wanting to take a leave of absence yourself are two different things. Mrs. Chen won’t know that, and I won’t directly tell Qiao to consider taking a leave of absence,” Li Qun said.
“Now that school has just started, this is the best time for him to take a leave of absence. If we wait any longer, even if Mrs. Chen agrees to Joe’s request to take a leave of absence, she will still require Joe to finish this semester and then take a leave of absence next semester,” Dr. Banner said.
“Feeling like you’re missing out by dropping out halfway through school really fits the mindset of Asian parents who never want to lose out,” Wade complained.
Li Qun sighed.
"How did Joe develop mental health issues?" Dr. Banner asked this question after talking for a while.
“His father passed away suddenly, and Joe is having trouble accepting it.”
"And Mrs. Chen also has cancer, so the boy is under a lot of pressure. He knows very well that one day Mrs. Chen will also leave him," the father said.
“When I went to the laundromat today, Mrs. Chen was concerned about your health, Dad. She thought you were sick and hospitalized because you weren’t here for Christmas,” Li Qun said to his father.
“She pawned some things with me; they belong to Mr. Chen. She’s planning to redeem them someday,” the old man said.
"Does getting cancer mean you have to die?" Wade asked.
“You can give it a try,” Dr. Banner said to Wade.
"I don't want to," Wade shook his head.
"In some ways, your self-healing ability is similar to that of cancer cells."
"How come I didn't see it?"
Wade turned around, grabbed his medical report, and flipped through it repeatedly, looking for the word "cancer cells" in the report.
"Dr. Banner, have you already extracted Wade's spinal cord stem cells?"
"It was done a long time ago."
"What's Wade's situation? Can his spinal cord stem cells develop into another Wade on their own?" Li Qun asked.
"No."
"Wade's super healing ability is still somewhat mysterious; his cells and tissues, once removed from his body, will die just like those of a normal person."
"It seems that he only possesses super healing abilities when he is part of a team with Wade."
“Liqun, did you think of that? My healing ability can be further developed. Of course, the idea was provided by Dr. Banner,” Wade said.
"Wade's self-healing ability can be used for medical research and for developing antitoxin serum."
"This is a very simple research approach; the whole process simply requires repeated practice."
