America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

Stephanie also put stickers on Peter.
“Look here, you two are among the ‘Friendliest People’.”
“Peter, Lillian, I’m going to vote for you both,” Harry said.
“This is definitely because you guys always lend your homework to others to get recognition,” Gwen said to Liqun and Peter.
“No one copied our work exactly; they just borrowed our ideas,” Li Qun said to Gwen.
“‘The Most Mysterious People,’ Liqun, Gwen. You two certainly give off a mysterious vibe.” Peter said, sticking the sticker on.
"So, in the eyes of other classmates, Gwen and I are mysterious?" Li Qun said.
“Judging from the overwhelming lead in the votes, Liqun, you’re more mysterious than Gwen,” Harry said, pointing to dozens of stickers.
“Harry, you should write your name here,” Peter said, pointing to the “Most Humorous Person” section.
"My name isn't in any of these columns, so I think I'd better keep a low profile." Harry smiled outwardly, but inwardly he felt a little disappointed.
“I have an idea. Give me the pen.”
Li Qun handed the marker to Harry, who wrote "Most Useless Person" in the last space on the voting board, and then wrote his own name, Harry Osborn.
“It can’t be wiped off!” Peter shouted to Harry.
“It can be wiped off, but we need to figure out a way to do it,” Gwen said calmly, arms crossed.
“Harry, you are definitely not ‘useless’.” Peter felt that Harry had triggered his post-traumatic stress disorder.
“Let’s hurry up and leave. ‘The most useless person’ can make fun of himself or others. It would be terrible if someone wrote down Flash’s name,” Li Qun said.
“Let’s see in a few days. I dare say self-deprecation will be the norm.” Harry laughed, his smile genuine.
At this moment, Harry felt that his addition of "the most useless person" was the best selection criterion in the entire selection process, which was very exciting!
……
In previous years, the selection of "best of the year" for graduating students was uneventful. The appearance of a few names on the selection board basically signaled the end of the selection process. These "titles" could be said to be tailor-made for those few students.
This year, the emergence of the "Most Useless Person" award broke this calm, becoming the most competitive nomination category.
Some people are proud of it, while others feel humiliated.
The list of "most useless people" was packed with names. Li Qun estimated that a third of the names in their grade were on it, and some lower-grade students even wrote down the names of their own grade.
Li Qun and his group watched from a distance.
"If you feel useless at home, you can get an even more useless pet," Li Qun said casually.
“Grandparents might find cute little animals more useful than their grandchildren,” Gwen told Liqun.
"Unfortunately, my dad doesn't allow me to have pets, so I'm really useless at home," Harry said regretfully.
“Don’t you guys think this is weird? From childhood to adulthood, we’ve always been encouraged with ‘You’re the best,’ ‘You’re talented in something,’ ‘You’ll succeed,’ ‘You’re special.’ No teacher would ever say ‘You’re useless,’” Stephanie asked.
“Say this makes people happy, but the consequence is that they can’t recognize their true selves,” Li Qun said.
“People still need to be happy, but they can’t be happy all the time,” Harry said with deep feeling.
“It’s because teachers are afraid of trouble. Some parents have something wrong with them; in their eyes, their children are perfect,” Gwen told Stephanie.
“I feel like you’re specifically pointing to someone we know,” Peter said.
“Peter, look how popular he is. Criticizing him will only make people say we’re jealous,” Harry said.
"Let's go, it's going to rain soon," Li Qun reminded them.
The group left the school and went home.
"dad?"
Stephanie was quite surprised to see Walter White outside the school.
"I'm here to pick you up from school, get in the car."
“It’s only Thursday,” Stephanie said to Walter, implying that Walter should be at work and not near the school.
“My research project is progressing well, and I can take a break for a while,” Walter told Stephanie.
Walter White, wearing brown-lensed aviator sunglasses, opened the car door for Stephanie and showed no signs of illness.
The two sat in the car, and Walter started the engine.
“The medicine is working, and it’s working very well,” Walter told Stephanie.
“I want to see the hospital test results, Dad,” Stephanie said earnestly.
"Yes, I'll let you see."
“I’d also like to have the hospital check up my current health,” Walter said with a smile.
"Stephanie, have you tried the new drink Osborn made?" Walter asked.
"We've already drunk it. The refrigerator in our club activity room is full of that green liquid."
“The school team used it as a performance-enhancing drug,” Stephanie said.
Chapter 292 The Lion Begins to Patrol His Territory
Peter checked each shopping receipt.
He didn't know when he had spent all the money on the gift cards, and he wanted to know how the money had disappeared.
Peter spent the whole night studying the room and was shocked to find himself completely oblivious to how he had spent the money.
Every item recorded on the shopping receipt was something Peter felt he needed; nothing was wasted.
Peter got up from his chair and looked around; there was nothing obviously new in the room.
Standing by the window, Peter looked out onto the street and thought of the homeless people he had helped.
The homeless man continued to roam the streets; he did not change the situation of those people, but he prevented them from starving to death on the streets.
Peter felt that the title of "useless man" should be bestowed upon him.
I've wasted time, energy, and money, but nothing has changed.
Peter wondered if there was something wrong with his approach.
That should be true.
But he can't just stop like that.
Some people have become dependent on him, relying on the food and water he provides.
Helping homeless people put pressure on Peter, particularly financially.
Peter began to reflect.
He initially offered his help to these people without expecting anything in return.
What is he thinking right now?
What is he thinking?
Inside the Sanctuary, Wade looked at Peter Parker on the magical television and asked Li Qun a question.
“He’s probably worried about the money,” Dr. Banner said.
“I feel like he might as well just give money to people on the street. Giving them four or five hundred dollars at a time might be enough to get them back to a normal life,” Wade said.
“Four or five hundred isn’t enough. Four or five thousand would be more like it,” the old man said.
“There’s a reason they’re homeless, and I’m not going to help everyone without asking why, like Peter does,” Dr. Banner said.
“Peter is still immature, but at least his intentions are good. Don’t be too demanding of him,” the old man said.
"Why do you all spy on Peter's private life every night?" the old man asked, puzzled.
“Peter is too kind and innocent, but once he falls, he can become incredibly evil. We have to keep an eye on him and not let him go astray,” Dr. Banner said to his father.
“Dr. Banner, have you observed the future?” Li Qun asked.
“I’ve looked into it, and nothing major is expected to happen within the next ten years,” Dr. Banner replied.
"Ten years? It's 2002 now, and ten years from now it will be 2012," Li Qun said.
"Did the ancient Mayans predict that 2012 would be the end of the world? Will the end of the world really come?" Wade asked Dr. Banner.
“The Maya never made any doomsday prophecies; that’s a classic rumor,” Dr. Banner told Wade.
"Where did this rumor come from?" Wade asked, puzzled.
“Some people need doomsday prophecies, so this rumor started,” the old man said.
Around 11 p.m., after Uncle Ben and Aunt May went to bed, Peter changed into his Spider-Man suit, "fully armed," and sneaked out to patrol his "territory" like a lion.
Peter's nighttime activities usually consist of two things: combating any violent crimes he encounters and distributing survival supplies to homeless people on the streets.
Peter regularly patrolled the convenience stores and small supermarkets that stayed open late into the night because robberies frequently occurred in these shops.
"How boring. When will Peter dare to do something big?"
Wade yawned; even immortals need sleep.
"What's the big deal?" Li Qun asked Wade.
"An incident involving the entire NYPD is a big deal, and a gang fight is also a big deal," Wade said casually.
"He's still just a child; we can't expect him to get involved in these things."
“If you don’t like what Peter is doing, Wade, you can do something big yourself,” Dr. Banner said to Wade.
“You said it yourself.” Wade looked at Dr. Banner.
“Do you need a combat suit? I can make you one,” Dr. Banner said.
"Someone like Peter?"
"Correct."
"Can it be bulletproof? I don't like bullets going into my body," Wade asked.
“Give me your bulletproof suit, or I won’t have the materials to make it for you,” Dr. Banner also made a request.
"Can I have your pants? I'll keep your coat."
