Li Qun politely raised his hand in response to Liz's wave.
……
……
Time suddenly jumped to the weekend.
Peter and Li Qun traveled together and arrived at Liz's house early, where Liz was also waiting for her friends.
Li Qun rang the doorbell of the Liz family's house and waited for a while for someone to open the door.
"Hey, who are you looking for?"
Liqun was stunned.
The person who opened the door was Liz's father.
Liz had always told her that her father was a very famous Broadway actor, but Liqun hadn't really felt anything about it until she met him in person.
Liz's father is "Michael Keaton," and the lead actor in the play "Birdman" is actually this "Birdman"!
"We are Liz's classmates. We made an appointment with her to tutor her this weekend," Li Qun said nervously to Liz's father.
"We've been waiting for you, come in, boys!"
Liz's father smiled and patted Liqun on the shoulder, then led Liqun and Peter into the house.
After Liz and her friends arrived, Liz's sisters also arrived one after another, with Gwen being the last to arrive.
They held a study session in the backyard of the Leeds family home, which was the same size as the house itself.
Liz's father, Adrian, was enjoying a leisurely weekend on a lounge chair by the pool in the backyard, while keeping an eye on his daughter's end-of-term study session.
"Liz, can I ask your dad for an autograph later?" Li Qun asked Liz in a low voice.
“Of course! I can even get him to give you an autographed photo of him,” Liz said with a smile.
"What's going on?" Gwen nudged Peter and asked in a low voice.
"Perhaps Liz's father is an actor that Liz admires, and he didn't realize it before," Peter deduced.
"Liz, has your father ever acted in a movie?" Li Qun asked in a low voice.
"No."
“Nobody has approached my dad to make movies, and he’s never thought about making movies,” Liz replied quietly.
“Your father should give it a try and break into Hollywood,” Li Qun said.
"forget it."
“My dad said it wasn’t a good place, and a true theatrical actor should stay in the theater,” Liz said.
"Focus, Liqun. Don't talk about anything other than studying. We're having a study session, not a fan meeting."
Gwen tapped Li Qun's hand with the tip of her pen.
Gwen was puzzled as to why Liz would react this way to Liz's father, a theatrical actor, since most young people idolize movie stars.
"Feel sorry."
Li Qun glanced at Peter, who was so engrossed in teaching Mary Jane about things she didn't understand that he had even forgotten he wanted to get closer to her.
Chapter 49 Things Men Can Do
"Pizza time~!"
"Nobody dislikes pizza, right?"
Liz's father, Adrian, interrupted the study session and started a pizza party after they put their books away.
“We should have more of these study gatherings so I can try all the pizza flavors I want,” Adrian said to them with a smile.
“My dad has very strict dietary rules; he can only eat food cooked by my mom,” Liz explained quietly to the person next to her.
Adrian naturally sat down next to Peter and Liqun, the only two boys, and opened a can of wheat juice with a "click".
“Sorry, you can’t enjoy this yet.” Adrian smiled at Peter and Li Qun.
"They must have caused you a lot of trouble, right?" Liz's father asked in a low voice.
"It is a little troublesome, but it can't really be called troublesome," Li Qun said.
"High school is the best time of everyone's life. I haven't had such an easy time since I started working," Adrian said to Li Qun and Peter, reflecting on life.
"What is it like to work as a theatrical actor?" Li Qun started a conversation.
"It's just like you imagine. Memorizing lines, playing a person, simulating the character's feelings in the script, and coordinating with other actors and stage lighting."
“Over time, you might even feel like there are other people’s souls inside your body talking to you,” Adrian said with a smile.
With a face resembling Michael Keaton and being a stage actor, Adrian brought a great sense of familiarity to Li Qun and Peter, even though it was their first time meeting.
"This is a common problem for theatrical actors; we always perform tragedies and comedies on stage."
"What kind of work do you want to do in the future?" Adrian asked Li Qun and Peter.
This is a question that many middle-aged men ask to younger generations.
“In the technology sector, the computer industry, helping people find happiness,” Li Qun replied to Adrian.
“Yes, using computer technology to help people achieve happiness,” Peter repeated Li Qun’s answer.
“Wow, do you guys think computers will become as common as televisions in every household?” Adrian asked.
“Peter and I have computers at home now, and in ten or twenty years, every household will definitely have a computer,” Li Qun said.
“That really is a very promising industry,” Adrian remarked.
"The theater industry isn't doing so well."
“Besides being a stage actor, I’m also a theater owner. Keeping a theater running is quite difficult,” Adrian chuckled.
Peter and Li Qun nodded, seemingly puzzled but actually impressed.
“I sent Liz to Midtown High School hoping she would pursue a different career. A scholar, a doctor, anything but an actress.”
“It seems that Liz didn’t consider these things,” Li Qun said.
"Yes."
“Her dream is to inherit my theater, and she wants to be the mainstay of the theater herself. That’s really overestimating herself,” Adrian said.
“But it’s also very courageous, isn’t it?” Peter said.
"It certainly takes courage, or you could say it's reckless."
"She can't even understand 10th-grade math problems, and she wants to run a theater?" Adrian said.
“And physics,” Li Qun added.
“Ha ha, ha ha.” Liz’s father let out a two-part laugh.
"Were you two boys coerced by them?" Adrian's expression changed in an instant as he asked Li Qun and Peter very seriously.
Adrian could tell at a glance that Peter and Li Qun were high-achieving but introverted students, the kind of people who were on the fringes of school.
"No, we came voluntarily."
"really?"
"it is true."
“If they really bully you or use any means to coerce you, I will definitely make them pay,” Adrian said in a low voice.
How could that be?
Peter waved his hand frantically; Adrian's deep voice was simply too oppressive.
“Mr. Adrian, why would you think that?” Li Qun asked.
"When I was young, I actually hated my daughter the most. I never thought that after I got married and had children, my own daughter would become the kind of person I hated the most."
"They really never shut up for a moment."
Adrian stopped talking and glanced at Peter and Li Qun.
Peter was puzzled, but Li Qun understood what Adrian meant. The three of them quieted down and quietly finished their pizzas.
The only sounds in the backyard were Liz and her sisters chattering away.
Even after all the pizzas were eaten and the pizza boxes were thrown into the trash can, the girls were still making a racket.
“Do you see that?” Adrian said.
Li Qun and Peter nodded silently.
“This is something a woman could never do,” Adrian said.
"Dad, what were you saying to them?" Liz asked as she walked over.
“We’re talking about things that men can do but women can’t,” Adrian said to Liz with a smile.
"What is it?"
Adrian shut his mouth and looked at Peter and Li Qun again. Li Qun and Peter smiled but didn't speak to Liz.
"What do you mean?"
"Dad, don't tell me you're telling a dirty joke."
"Don't lead Peter and Lyon astray."
"Peter, Li Qun, it's time for us to get to work!"
Liz pulled Li Qun and Peter away, and Adrian stood up and said, "Can I watch TV? It won't bother you."
"Dad, you can watch it if you want."
In the backyard by the pool, Adrian placed a 21-inch television next to his lounge chair.
He lay down comfortably, and Tony Stark's voice came through the television news.
"Three months from now, I will change the world."
"I am Tony Stark, I have the authority to say such things."
