The Adventurer System
Chapter 126 - This Is Just A Game
The stars glistening in the skies, as the young man sat in the front of his window. Hearing all the words from his little sister inside his head.
The moonlight illuminated his skinny blanched face and seeing his sunken whiskey eyes. By looking at him, you could notice Yumiro's body in the real world wasn't quite good.
Although the window has transparent glass, he could still transpicuous his reflection on it. So he talked himself with an uneasy smile.
"Yeah, Amiya's is right. I should stop playing this game, and focus on taking care of my body." He lifted his head, then leaned his back on his wheelchair. "This is the best thing to do, I don't have any rights to complain. I'm just I disabled man who always making trouble. I should feel ashamed."
Yumiro accepted the VR game wasn't the right game for him. He then turned his wheel and heading to his bed not too far away from him.
"I'm going to sleep since it's already late," Yumiro said with a lifeless tone. Although he wanted to fulfill his promise to Yuki, still, he couldn't do anything about it as Amiya already made her decision.
As soon as he positioned himself on his bed, he tugged the blanket upward. To cover his body, where the only parts you could see were his head and hands.
He raised his left hand while slowly whirling it. "What this hand can do?" Yumiro smiled, then brought down his hand and said. "Nothing... I needed to stop from thinking, isn't good for my health.
He closed his eyes with the thoughts, he should come back again in his usual life. Even though the VR world was the place where he could feel alive, he let go of all those things and thinking it was just a game.
"I don't need to feel miserable, that is just a game..." After his words, eventually, he fell asleep as his mind was exhausted from playing the VR game for consecutive hours.
...
But on the other side, a young man plastered her ear on the freezing wall. As she tried to hear some words from her big brother.
Blinking her eyes with surprise, she then quickly stepped away from the door. "Brother Yumiro..." Amiya mumbled as she felt she dishearten her brother. "I went too far, I shouldn't say those words."
Back then, Amiya already heard why Yumiro said. Even though his voice was weak, she could hear it since Yumiro's voice echoed.
In her grasp was the black VR helmet, she then unlocked the door. After a few seconds, she went inside her head. "Brother Yumiro?" Amiya said with a weak tone.
She waited for a couple of seconds and didn't receive any response from Yumiro. So she tried to again. "Brother Yumiro? Can we talk?" Tears formed at the corner of Amiya's eyes as her vision was turned blurry but she could still saw his brother lying down on his bed.
However, the same scenario happened. So Amiya closed the door and went upstairs. "Why I said that?" She felt annoyed with herself as she thought she was the right one who always understands her brother's condition.
In her mind, Yumiro lost his intention to continue his life because the catastrophe happened four years ago. In these several years, Yumiro suggested bringing him to any rehabilitation center, so Amiya wouldn't have any hard time taking care of him.
One year ago after the incident in Taekwondo World Cup. Yumiro and Amiya were just getting out of the prestigious hospital provided by the Taekwondo association.
Ding!
Amiya took her phone out of her sling bag, as she received a new message.
"Wait brother this is an important message." Amiya said.
"Okay, Amiya. No problem." Yumiro replied, then pushed his eyeglass back to his nose.
Bam!
After a few seconds, Amiya read the message. Her phone dropped on the tiles, and while her eyelids tremble widened.
"Amiya! What's happen? Why did you suddenly bring down your phone?" Yumiro said, then rolled his wheel as he wanted to pick up the phone. "Here you go?" He then asked himself, when seeing Amiya's tears burst on her eyes.
"Amiya why are you crying?" He asked her with a clueless tone.
Amiya couldn't spit any words out of her mouth, however, she pointed her index finger at her phone. As she means for something.
"What's in this phone?" Out of curiosity, Yumiro also opened the phone, and give the same reaction as Amiya.
[Drake was got out of the jail, our attorney said he wasn't at the right age to imprison so we needed to wait until he turned in legal age and file again the case.] From Lauche.
Lauche is Yumiro's coach when he was just six years old. Moreover, Lauche is the reason why Yumiro felt how to have a father as he treated him like his own child.
Ding!
A new message arrived, then Yumiro quickly read it.
[Don't worry, son. We will fight for your justice no matter how many years it takes! But, our problem is Drake's father, he has a big influence. I have felt, Drake's father pays a big amount of money for the judge that holding our case. So he could free his son.]
Yumiro's tears rolled down on his skinny cheeks, thinking Drake should live in the prison for the rest of his life. And by this time, he loses the reason why he keeps fighting as he knew the money could manipulate everything especially justice.
Pat! Pat!
"Brother Yumiro, Drake should pay what he has done no matter what." Amiya wiped her tears, then encouraged him to don't lost his hope.
Yumiro knew all Amiya sacrifices to claim justice, but in his mind, this was the right time to stop. As he wouldn't bring down Amiya with his despairs.
"Amiya, don't bring me home. Just sent me to any rehabilitation center here, just follow our attorney said. You're too young for this problem, by your age should enjoy your childhood, and you shouldn't feel this kind of situation."
Amiya uncontrollably shook her head, as she disagreed with Yumiro decision. "Brother Yumiro, why are you saying that? You're not going anywhere, you will stay by my side. Also, don't treat me like a child, I can do all these things." Amiya sobbed.
"No, Amiya. One year is enough, you should focus on your study. You shouldn't waste the chance given by coach Lauche."
"I'm not wasting it, Brother Yumiro. I focus on my study than anyone here in this world. Let's go home! Before you think of another stupid idea!"
...
Amiya remembered it was the first time he scolded her brother. Moreover, her tears welled in her eyes as she recalled all that scenes.
"I'll apologize to him tomorrow, and bring him to every beautiful place in the VR world."
The moonlight illuminated his skinny blanched face and seeing his sunken whiskey eyes. By looking at him, you could notice Yumiro's body in the real world wasn't quite good.
