It was still early in the day, so there were no customers in the tavern on the first floor. There was only one old man preparing food.

「Breakfast time is over」, he said.

「I know that. I’ve had a good day at work.」

I sat down in a chair at the counter and looked at Pops, whose careful knife work belied 1 his rugged appearance.

The sound of him cutting the ingredients with a good tempo is pleasant.

The atmosphere was different from when he was serving customers.

Now and then, he seems to be in a good mood, both of which show a side of him.

「What is it like?」

「Orle’s away from the village for a week.」

「I’ve heard rumors. It seems to be a report of dungeon discoveries」.

It’s a small village. Such stories would probably spread to every corner, overnight.

Now that the early morning has passed, everyone knows.
