I got out of the dungeon and managed to get back to the village without encountering any monsters.

My weapons were gone, and my clothes were tattered. I wanted to go home and take a rest, but I thought that, it would make a better impression if I reported first.

I visited the building that belonged to the vigilantes’ group and stood in front of Orle’s room. After knocking, he opened the door and I went inside.

「Is there a problem?」

Orle’s eyebrows wrinkled at the sight of me.

I guess he thinks that I got into trouble and ran back. You’re not wrong in a way, but it’s a much better situation than you imagine.

「I had my problems, but we accomplished our goal.」

「So, you found the dungeon?」

「I did! Here’s your proof.」

I put the Giant Skeleton Knight’s magic stone on the desk.

I heard Orle gasp.

「I’ve never seen a magic stone this big before.」

「Even adventurers rarely see you. Such a powerful monster has appeared at the entrance to the dungeon. That’s the problem.」

「But you defeated it, didn’t you? Then the problem is solved.」

The Giant Skeleton Knight is a unique individual, and it’s unlikely that a second one will appear in that location.

That problem has been solved. But that’s not what I’m worried about.

「If there are powerful monsters at the entrance, it’s easy to imagine that there will be even worse monsters further in. It could be the most dangerous dungeon in the world.」

「It’s difficult for even adventurers to enter. Is that what you’re saying?」

「Yes, I am. You may have been able to earn money from the magical stones and items produced in the dungeon, but it is meaningless if there are no people who can fight inside. If left unchecked, the place would be overrun with monsters. Maybe Yang has incurred a huge debt.」

I’m not sure of the principle, but dungeons are designed in such a way that monsters are born on a regular basis.

Adventurers take advantage of this to rake in magic stones and items, but if the difficulty level is too high, no one will enter. If you don’t thin out the area regularly, the monsters will continue to grow and cause more damage outside the dungeon.

The image of a skeleton knight roaming around in the woods even makes it worse.

「What I saw in the dungeon were the undead. The skeleton knights roaming the forest must have come from there. As for the goblins, they must have migrated from somewhere else.」

「In that case, do we need to investigate the goblins separately from the dungeon?」

「Well, yeah. I don’t think it’s as urgent as the dungeon, but we should be on the lookout for them.」

「Okay, okay! I’m going to go to the village chief and report back, and I want Lars to follow me as the finder(discoverer).」

I went to the village chief’s house and told him everything I had seen in the dungeon, showed him the bag of magic stones, and decided to report to the Lord right away. I heard that Orle was going with the village chief as his escort.

I guess they don’t want to leave it to me, a rookie(newcomer). I’ll leave the troublesome matters to the higher-ups and wait for them while relaxing in the village.
