#925 - Young Justice and Spies
"Dick, I need to talk to you about something."
Inside the Watchtower's lounge, the entire Young Justice League had been placed here by the Justice League. To cater to the Justice League's vast hero population, most rooms here could accommodate a large number of people.
The Young Justice League currently only had nine members, making the space more than sufficient. To avoid boredom, everyone in the room was finding something to do.
Conner and Megan were chatting, while Artemis, Troia, and Courtney huddled together. Wally and Harper were engrossed in video games.
Dick had been busy completing his mission report until just now. It was a tradition of both the Justice League and the Young Justice League that the person in charge of an operation would write a report after the mission for future reference.
Dick had grown accustomed to this. Just as he was typing on the keyboard, he suddenly heard Jackson's voice.
"What's up, Jackson?"
Instead of directly answering Dick's question, Jackson gave him a look. Although there was no verbal communication, Robin managed to understand what the latter wanted to convey.
Dick remained calm and started a new line under his report, then began typing.
'What's wrong? What's going on?'
After typing the words, Dick deleted them in less than three seconds.
Jackson breathed a sigh of relief. He was grateful that Dick understood his meaning and had come up with a good way for them to communicate discreetly.
Jackson sat down next to Dick and picked up his notebook, pretending to write a report.
'During the mission, I had contact with assassins from the League of Assassins. They revealed information to me, saying that there was a spy within the Young Justice League.'
Jackson typed a lot, so he had to wait a bit longer, deleting the text after about five seconds.
Seeing the message, Dick's fingers stiffened, and his eyes twitched slightly. After calming down, he continued typing.
'Who else knows about this?'
'However, we can't rule out the possibility that the assassin was telling the truth about the spy. After all, the disappearance of Red Tornado does have many suspicious points, such as why someone knew that Mount Justice was being reactivated.'
Dick's words awakened Jackson, who had just relaxed, and made him tense up again.
Just as Dick said, although Mount Justice was a base abandoned by the Justice League due to exposure, enough time had passed for anyone unaware to believe that the Justice League would not use it again.
As mentioned before, Batman's caution was well-known in both the light and dark sides, and no villain would believe that Batman would risk reactivating Mount Justice.
It was precisely because of this insurance that Mount Justice became their base. Now that someone had captured Red Tornado inside Mount Justice, the possibility of a spy existing was greatly amplified.
'This…' Jackson was very glad that he had shared this information with Dick, because the latter had indeed thought of a level he hadn't.
'But as before, we don't have direct evidence, so let's keep this to ourselves.'
After writing this and waiting a few seconds, Dick deleted the words. Then, he closed his microcomputer, having multitaskingly completed the entire mission report while communicating with Jackson.
"Keep it up."
Dick stood up, patted Jackson on the shoulder, and then turned and ran to compete with Wally for control of the game controller, looking no different from usual.

Such composure impressed Jackson. At the same time, he understood the double meaning in Dick's words, and could only smile wryly before continuing to work on his report.
Honestly, although he didn't reject modern technology, he wasn't as proficient as Dick at typing.
Jackson scanned the entire room. He could tell that many people in the room were distracted, which seemed to indicate that the possibility of their identities being exposed was greatly affecting them.
He, Conner, Harper, Donna, and Megan were the people in the Young Justice League who didn't care much about their identities being exposed, either because they didn't have identities in human society or simply didn't care about their identities being exposed.
The rest were not like them. They couldn't abandon their identities in human society, and the impact of their real identities being exposed would be significant.
"Tsk."
Hearing the sound of the door opening, the tense children immediately turned their attention to the doorway, just in time to see Cyborg walk in.
"I have good news for you."
Cyborg's half-human face showed a smile. "Mount Justice's mainframe shows no signs of being hacked. Your real information has not been exposed, I can guarantee that."
Speaking of this, Cyborg's tone was very confident, and he certainly had the right to be. After all, he was invincible in the online world. There was no one in this world who could make small moves online without being discovered by him.
Hearing Cyborg's guarantee, the children who cared about their identities, led by Dick, breathed a sigh of relief. Cyborg's words undoubtedly gave them a reassurance.
