Bellania sighed "the truth is that even if none of this happened we would barely have enough food thanks to our lives stock but now that we have no choice but to rely on our crops that remain unchanged we simply don't have enough food." she said honestly. nick nodded "well the solution to your problems is to hunt the animals more." he said simply. the king spoke up at this point again "it's not that easy since the beast are far smarter now so none of our usual methods work any more." he said seriously. nick shook his head "you people are pathetic , I'm gone for one week and none of you can seem to solve a simple problem such as hunting so let me ask you how do you hunt humans?" nick asked after rebuking the others coldly. everyone was angered by what nick said but they knew he was right after he asked his question since the same method would likely work on the new beast roaming about. "it was uncalled for to rebuke everyone so strongly when a simple solution would have sufficed. lucian said disapprovingly.
Nick looked lucian in the eyes "no that was exactly what needed to be said , all of you have become so complacent in how the world works that now that the rules have changed you all lack the ability to adapt to the changes and so you looked to use me as a crutch to keep you afloat." he paused "but the fact is that i refuse to solve problems that you are more than capable of fixing on your own so unless a war happens or an absolutely monstrous creature threatens extinction of humanity try to actually adapt for once." he said before blinking behind the group and walking towards the main street. everyone looked lost after nick left since they had hoped he would fix everything back to the way is was but from what he said the change was permanent and as he said they didn't know how to handle it. the young man broke the silence "while i don't like how he put it we as a race has grown stagnant in our ways and we need to grow even if it kills most of us." he said seriously. "mark obviously knows that if he just fixed everything for us we would never get beyond needed his help." lucian concurred.
Meanwhile nick was walking towards the market area quickly since he hoped to find some new plants and metals since as far as he could tell besides a few heavenly treasures born from the elements themselves most mutant plants or metals are completely random so he could find several variants that don't exist on his world. when he arrived nick was surprised to see that rather than money the vendors who were on the StreetSide were asking for food for their merchandise. nick was thankful for the system when he saw this since he had large amounts of food in his inventory for emergency situations.
